Great staff and great tasty food with large portions. Beer on draft has some great names and high on taste and alcohol.

Ok, this is my first time in Salt Lake... My first meal in Salt Lake....my first beer in Salt Lake. And I have to say, this place is awesome! Great food, beer, service, and decore. As a first time customer, I'll definitely be back!
Local beer with wonderful food. Each beer on draft is unique and well crafted. We were able to taste each and every beer on draft and each one was free from any sort of off flavor. The apricot hefe was especially bright and floral. Squatters has taken the advantage of the new laws in Utah to brew exceptional tasting beverages. My party enjoyed the Bourbon Burger with Pastrami, fried vegi sandwich and the Bison burger. Besides forgetting to wrap the bison burger in lettuce everything was amazing. Jon was an exceptional server who clearly took pride in understanding the nuances of beer flavor and the brewing process. Well done.
We used to come to Squatters every week when we lived in SLC. We loved the atmosphere and the bartenders. It's been a couple of years since we've been here last time. The atmosphere is still nice, but the beer looked and tasted flat. The attention of the bartenders was lacking. We still love it for the meer fact that it's our go to spot for a weekday hang out when we are in town. You get such a variety of customers, you can always strike a conversation with random people and have a great time. It's also a fun place to watch a game
Great good and great drinks! Friendly service and friendly warm atmosphere.
Oh, man. This place is my ultimate favorite. I have been coming here for a decade. Go! Whenever you cannot decide where to eat, go to Squatters! Their menu is so diverse and fit for any mood. I am obsessed with their tofu - on tacos, on the taco salad, on nachos or in the curry. It's so good. Beer menu is fantastic, wine menu - not so much. I love to sit on the patio. Never had a bad experience here. Always look forward to returning.
Plenty of great options and a welcoming atmosphere. Service was spot on and food came out quickly. Hadn't even finished our appetizer before our mains were brought out! Lots of vegetarian options for my wife which is always a plus.
A very busy spot for classic Mexican and American pub fare, washed down by at least 12 taps of various brews. Porch seating for warmer weather, nearly 40 seats at the bar and equal table seating inside.
Tastes are 50 cents a piece so bring your sisters if you're not sure about your libation choice.
It was great. My girlfriend was excited they had bacon where they were nice to the pigs.
Good beer nice atmoshere friendly staff food could be better
Great service and even better food. Great quantity and quality of buffalo wings. Pizza, paired with a good beer, can't go wrong.
Had one of the best experiences at a restaurant. Our waiter was amazing and the food and drinks were top-notch.
Great place, fantastic ambience and tasty food. Beers and cocktails similarly good. Recommended.
Squatters is always a hit or miss all depending on the staff. This time was very good. Hostess was nice as was the server.
Attended a company event, catered by Squatters in their upper room. It was fantastic. Really tasty food, elegantly prepared and served buffet style. Very friendly staff. Everyone had a blast. Would highly recommend.
Great experience, the staff were friendly, attentive and kind and the beer is killer! I had the oatmeal stout, it was nitro and was so delicious. The food was well portioned and full of the right flavors.
If you re in town or a local Squatters should be on the top of your list.
Had a little scare when are waiter lost our credit card, but overall food was great, great atmosphere...Will return again..
Tasty beers! (gotta go the can route for full octane)
We were "greeted" by a herd of Hostesses who seemed offended that we were there, and were unkind. Through phone calls and customers in and out they kept talking about how busy they were going to be, exasperated, but by the time we left at noon the restaurant was still at least half empty (not that a full establishment would have validated their poor attitudes). Our waiter, Joe, was kind and reasonably attentive. A nice respite from the company we'd been keeping at the door while we waited for our party.
I discovered that Squatters charges for sharing a meal. It's not much, but still feels very punitive and retaliatory. At the very least we should be informed of the charge before receiving it.
In our party of 9, many were underwhelmed with their meals, myself included. Not that anything was terrible, it just doesn't seem to be worth the price tag anymore. Specifically, the Buffalo moco loco was bland, as was the roadhouse skillet. The scones were good. We ended up agreeing that the food here seems to have declined as compared to our memories of years past. I also wish there were padded seating available. I really like the ambiance here but this is no longer on my list of places worth giving my business to.
The food was so terrible during my last visit it bordered on comical. In the past, I have always had good experiences with this place, but this visit was much different. I didn't eat my entree because it wasn't edibal, I don't even know that it was healthy, the bite I had tasted like the meat should have been thrown out, the only thing worse than the flavor was the texture and still worse than that was the absence of the server.
Very nice to see a bar where you can see the brewing tanks. I also liked that I could get samples of the different brews.
I shouldn't have had the garlic fries. Now all I can taste is garlic. Even after 3 beers. The Reuben was good, but it would be much improved by better rye bread. If I wasn't mistaken, it came instead on some basic Sara Lee stuff.
If you're from Seattle or Portland ... the beer will disappoint. Can't sample anything worth sampling and anything worth drinking is in a bottle - no draughts. Excellent beers are much cheaper in Seattle. Beers are served in 10 oz glasses (any real beer lover from seattle or Portland would spot that entering the establishment). Server looked at me like I had 3 eyes when I asked the simplest questions about the beers.
Otherwise ... food was pretty good and its a cool bar.
Seated and received food very fast. Great service, beer, and food.
Staff, food, service was very subpar and it wasn't even busy. I asked for window seat and she sat us in the middle of the floor. The food came out very quickly and the fish and chips were just OK. Both the fries and fish were nearly burnt, very brown. The meat loaf was horrible. The server seemed annoyed that he was serving us during our visit. The best part of the meal with the chocolate lava cake. I tried calling the store today to speak with the manager and got a very garbled voicemail. This will probably be my one and only visit here.
Awesome food selection and good beer. Absolutely love that the food is marked as is or can be prepared as Vegan/Vegetarian/Gluten-Free. Went and sat at the bar at lunch and service was quick and enthusiastic. Definitely recommend.
I was skeptical about eating at Squatters, but once I stepped into the restaurant I was impressed. The aesthetics are gorgeous and the food was delicious! I ordered the bacon topped meatloaf looking for a different experience - as I had never heard nor tried such a thing - and it was amazing. The food is excellent quality for the price, the staff is friendly, and the restaurant it beautiful.
Broad variety of menu selections & great beers at reasonable prices! Friendly service too!!
This place was busy and now I see why. Excellent food and great service!
bomb diggety fish and chips! also, who could resist a drink called a stumbling missionary?? :)
Yummy IPAs and dark beers! You must order food if you plan on drinking - who knew?! #Tourists
Beer was thin.. think lite beer. Surprising for a micro brew. Food good. Service goos
A decent place for a pint and a sandwich. The food sounds better than it is. They do the business, though. Worth a try, for sure.
Good food, decent atmosphere. Can't complain nothing special.
Ideal place to drink good beers and eat their famous sirloin nacho, great!
Extremely disappointed with our visit today. Waited forever to get our food, which I understand it gets busy, but it would have been nice to know from one of the staff members beforehand that they were going to take longer than normal (as in a full hour) . Ended up just having them box up our order to go. Once we opened our food- they forgot a meal. I called and talked to a manager (Brittany) who said it was never put into the kitchen- BUT we did pay for it. They offered NO refund and didn t even offer to make it so we could come back and pick it up!!! I am SHOCKED how management handled this situation!!! And definitely disappointed I didn t get my food or some sort of fix for the waitresses error. We will be going to Red Rock next time.
Squatters was fabulous! First time there for my husband and I. The service was great! Saturday night they were extremely busy but we walked in and we were taken to table. The staff was on there A Game. Never once forgot us. Refills on our drinks and the food was delivered very quickly. Very attentive waiter. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will be going back.
Bad bartender (very confusing), they refused to serve alcohol past 12:00 when it was 12:06. Our group was about to leave, but decided to say to eat. Only then, when we ordered food, we were allowed to order alcohol drinks. There were People next to us that were very upset that we were able to get drinks and they weren't when they were there longer than us. KEEP IT CONSISTENT care about your guests, bad service okay food and overpriced.
The beer was good but skip the food and try elsewhere. I ordered the buffalo burger, it was burnt and tasteless. I also ordered a pretzel that tasted like it came from the freezer. The cheese sauce that came with it was also flavorless. The service was great and everyone was friendly but the food just wasn't good for what I paid. Come here for a beer after you eat elsewhere.
Service is prompt even when they are busy. Really nothing but great experiences here, so I will be back. Prices are reasonable I would say. Ambience reminds me of San Diego's scene.
Of the two times I've been to Squatters, the food has been amazing & satisfying!
Best beer I've had at a Utah brewpub. Good food and service too.
Great atmosphere and pretty consistently good food, also has great craft beer!
Great pub that never disappoints. The food is excellent and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend it as a place to watch sports unless you don't mind sitting at the bar, but the food is worth a visit.
Always great service and great food. Love visiting this place.
The food wasn't bad, but for a cocktail they are overpriced. Their beer gives me diarrhea, so water & cocktails are it. Of course, everyone serves water.
I can't say much about the beer, but I did try the Squatters Bourbon burger with caramelized onions for lunch. I'm not going to say it's the best burger I've ever tasted, but it was a darn good burger. They also cater to the GF world and offer gluten free buns upon request. It's definitely a place I'll visit again.
were visiting Salt Lake City as we frequently do. Had a couple of hours before a dinner reservation. The weather was unseasonably warm for October and decided that we would go to Squatters to enjoy the patio and beer. After parking in the lot adjacent to the building and paying the $6.00 parking fee we found the establishment closed. A small typed sign stated that they were closed for a private event. Their website, Google and Tripadvisor showed that they were opened. I would expect this for a small mom and pop restaurant to close for a vacation or death in the family or a business that struggles for business and would happily inconvenience their guests just to pay the bills with a private party. I gave it 1 star because we weren't even able to get in the front door, for inconvenience, and major disappointment!
From WA thought the staff were very friendly-knowledgable of their offerings and great food. It was busy (Sunday AM) but bar staff were very attentive. Good prices fir quality. Recommend!!
Amazing crew including cooks, expediter, wait staff and bartenders. It was so efficient and I truly enjoyed the food.
Chosen as best beer pub in Utah, but for me it is too crowded and loud. I prefer Desert Edge.
I have been to Squatters many times and I love the feel of the place when I go in. I feel that the food is different than most places and not a chain by any means. I tend to get the chicken curry which I love to eat. I also like their fries with parm and garlic. This place will not impress foodies but it is great for a nice sit down lunch.
Great service. Had a very large group for lunch and they handled it very well. All the food that I've had from here is incredible, I suggest trying their nachos, pretzel, fish and chips, and pizza but you really can't go wrong with their food. While the food isn't 'cheap' you definitely get a good portion size. Of course they have a great drink menu with many different options between wines, shots, mixed drinks, and beers.
We walk in and the hostess is instantly glaring at us before we even say a word. She seats us and it's a good ten minutes before our server even shows up. We finally get our food and I made the mistake of asking for fry sauce, another ten minutes. Then we were out of water and our server was no where to be found. By the time he did show up we had finished our food so we just asked for the check and he runs off again before telling us if we pay at the table, if we take it up front or if he has to cash us out. So we just went up to the hostess station and she very rudely said that she can't check us out. My sister said something like "we've been waiting forever" and then a guy named Pepe who I assume was the manager came over and cashed us out no problem. However the whole time he was doing this, the absolutely terrible hostess stood off to the side with her arms folded like the unprofessional child she is and GLARED AT US. How god damn old is she? You're a hostess! Your whole job is being friendly and approachable not an ice queen giving people dirty looks. Grow up!
In conclusion:
Food was okay.
Service was terrible (except for Pepe).
We won't be coming back.
The food gets better each time I go.
Edit: Went again, had the club. It was fantastic. Great server. Awesome experience.
Edit: Went another time. I think this place gets better each time. Had the buffalo chicken with the spiral fries, it was great.
My favorite place to get regular bar food. The burgers are the best here as well as the onion rings and don t forget the cheese curds. Service is always great and quick. It s never too busy here and it s always pretty relaxed. Good environment.
Squatters is absolutely the spot you need to check out if you are in downtown SLC. They have a few spots and a sister brewery across town (Wasatch), but nothing rivals the excellent quality of Squatters- both in terms of food and drink and customer service.
Namely, one of the finest gentleman, Ian, was our waiter for one of these visits and he was simply a joy to have serve us. He seemed so friendly and joyful that it seemed like he was an old friend, and sparked a tremendous amount of comfort as we wined and dined. The world would benefit from having more people like Ian out there.
If anyone asks me where to go in SLC, I d be disappointed if they looked over Squatters (especially if Ian is still there doing his thing!).
Also, the Guava Rosa is a banging beer. If you like sours, get this and NOT the lime sour. The latter tastes like a corona with a little too much lime, which is good but not what I was looking for from a sour beer. Guava Rosa is the way to go.
Food was not worth the price or wait. Service was good.
Yum!! The pizza here is bomb. The bourbon burger is heavenly! I love this place!
This brewery is pretty darn famous... and it was total happenstance I happen to walk right past it while on business in SLC. Got to get a few favorites right from the source! This is how I choose to practice Polygamy! Porter that is :-)
A Good place to sit down and relax with some friends and grab a cold one must warn it not very relaxing on the weekend but fun.
This is my go-to place for brunch. LOVE the drink specials ($2 bloody mary's, mimosas, and screwdrivers) and the eggs benedict is fantastic! For the beer lovers, you can't go wrong with their selection of house crafted microbrews. I have yet to have a bad experience at this location (and I have visited more times than I can count).
For lunch & dinner, the burgers and pizzas are great, and I even recommend the fish & chips. This is a great place for a date, a family meal, or to hang out with friends -- all around good vibes.
Really enjoyed my meal, drinks and atmosphere! This place was recommended to me, and I would definitely pass on the recommendation. Brussel sprouts appetizer was delicious!!
This review is just for the breakfast. Biscuits were stale, gravy was bland. Omelets were meh. Everyone working there was nice though. Great atmosphere, just didn't enjoy the food.
Food is good. 2.5 levels. Nice little place. Beer and tv's
Good explanation of beers brewed. And the two I tried were fantastic. Had the Carnitas dish. One of the best I've had. I'll be going here more often.
