I have lived at two different Southgate properties, most recently at Woodshire. Management and maintenance were quick to respond to any issues that I had. The apartments were really nice and convenient. I would recommend Southgate for any apartment needs.
I lived at 2 Square Apartments. The midtown location is very convenient. It's within walking distance to the University of Southern Mississippi and many local businesses. My apartment was nice: solid wood cabinets and vanities, tile floor, etc. However, the carpeting could have been replaced. The washer and dryer in the apartment was great. The property was well maintained. The 24 hour maintenance was a great perk especially when my air conditioner broke outside of business hours last summer. The average turnaround time for maintenance requests was within a few days. The maintenance and management staff were friendly, helpful and professional. They are strict about the parking pass. Overall, I had a positive experience with Southgate Realty, LLC. This was a nice apartment for a fair rental price.
I told Southgate Realty and the Community Manager of 2 Square Apartments that I needed a place to live by 5/23/18. They had me pay $375. Although they had multiple apartments that I could have viewed, they refused to show any of them to me. More
The 2 stars is for the lady who finally helped me. I applied for a duplex at villa des chenes in late may 2020 and was told someone already got the duplex but there would be openings at woodshire. Ok I asked would I be able to pay a deposit and move in once my lease was up on July 17th. I was told that was fine. Something told me the lady wasn't listening to What I was saying so I asked again this time she tells me the duplex can only be held for 14 days with a deposit ok cool. So she tells me if something comes up unexpectedly she would notify me and she never did. So I called back on June 19th asking was anything available and she says a 2 bedroom was coming available at woodshire. Ok so what happened to me being contacted. Ok so that Monday june 22nd I go to pay my deposit only to be told someone else had trumped my application because my 48 hours was up. Ok so why was I never told I had 48 hours to pay. So then I go to the office and am told villa des chenes has an open becoming available July 6th. So I say I want to go ahead and pay the deposit. I go back to give my money order. Oh someone already got that one but then she says the lady decides she didn't want to move out. Ok that puts me in a bind because I needed something with washer/dryer connections because literally this was the only property with openings in Hattiesburg. I call the office and ask about the 48 hour policy and ask does it include weekends and the guy on the phone had an attitude and told me I was able to pay the deposit before 48 hours. How can I pay something when I was never told I had 48 hours. Also its very odd that I was given a link to pay the deposit once I talked to the lady who helped me finally but before that the only option I was given to pay my deposit was a money order. Are only certain people allowed to live on certain properties? Ok so at this point I'm desperate so i was going to settle for claridge house even though i didn't want to live there. Finally someone reaches out to me and helps me find a place. I could understand if I didn't make enough money. I make more that 3 times the rent and the place i reside at now is higher than these properties and I'm required to pay water/sewer. So clearly I can afford it. My credit is good and I also was a tenant at hardy manor before which is a southgate realty. Property. I have never broken a lease and have always paid my rent on time. I dont know what the deal is but its pathetic that I had to go through all of that just to find a place. I was not given proper information due to lack of communication. Thank you to the lady who finally helped me.
My experience at The Lakes at Turtle Creek Apartment Homes has been nothing but exceptional. I have lived her for FIVE long years and I would not want to live anywhere else. The apartments here are stunning with their vinyl wood flooring, granite counter tops, and spacious closets. I honestly feel like I am living at a resort because of all the time saving amenities. The Lakes has a 24/7 fitness center, sparkling pool and hottub (my favorite), billiards room, free clubhouse Wi-Fi, and not to mention a MOVIE THEATHER room! I have loved my time here at The Lakes and my experience with South Gate Reality has been wonderful. Jesse Johnson, Kenya Patterson, and The Lakes staff has truly made living here all the more better. They always have a smile on their face and treat every resident with respect. I couldn't image living anywhere else; The Lakes is my home.
Two thumbs up for Southgate Realty, LLC. I've lived at Claridge House Apartment Homes for several years now...and have yet to be disappointed. Great location...right across from the University of Southern Mississippi.
I've been living at the Lakes for the last year. It has been a great place to live. The transition from my 3 bedroom to a 2 bedroom was smooth. My dog Cooper loves to come into the office and play with Kenya. The staff has been great to work with.

Because I have been a member of the Southgate Realty community for almost five years. As a seasoned resident, I can honestly say that Southgate Realty goes above and beyond to ensure that each resident comes home to a safe, cozy, quiet, well-maintained property. Excellent staff and service. I am pleasantly surprised at how quiet the community is when compared to the size of the complex. I love the convenience of this place and the area shopping/restaurants. Kenya, Jesse, and Callie were great at welcoming me to the Lakes! I recommend this place 100%!!!!! Southgate Realty has a gem with this one!
So I just wanted to talk about my experience with Southgate Reality at The Lakes at Turtle Creek Apartment in Hattiesburg, MS.. My move in process has been nothing short of amazing! Jessie Johnson and Sarah Rubelowsky have been truly amazing. Although I am not moving in until May they have still show so much attention and detail to what I need and has shown such a positive attitude throughout. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone I know!
I've said it once and I'll say it again- if you're in Hattiesburg, go to Southgate. Go see Heather. Woodshire is the best place that I have ever lived. Quiet, friendly, clean, nice, affordable. Most places have a few things that are good about it, but I can honestly say that I can't find anything wrong with Woodshire.
I have lived in Claridge House Apartments for the last two and a half years, and I have loved living there. If you are a student at Southern Miss, you would be crazy not to live here. The university is literally across the street, so never have to battle for a parking spot on campus. All of the appliances work, and if anything is every wrong management always takes care of it as soon as they can. Living here has made my time in Hattiesburg extremely enjoyable!
The best place to live in Hattiesburg. Staffs are kind and friendly. They are always helping us to enjoy this community life!

I live at The Lakes at Turtle Creek managed by Southgate realty! I have lived here for over a year now and it is by far the best complex in Hattiesburg! Very friendly and helpful staff, amazing units, and beautiful landscaping! Speedy maintenance, not that I have very much, but anything I call about it done immediately! I would highly recommend this complex! It also as beautiful amenities that you will not find anywhere else in Hattiesburg! I was even able to rent the clubhouse for my baby's first birthday and it was perfect!
I lived at Concord Town homes for 3 years. My experience there was wonderful. The management was great, mainteance was great and the property itself was great. I loved the private patios and swimming pool (10 ft deep). It was close to USM which was convenient for me. If I had to say anything negative, it would be the parking situation, there was no numbered parking. However, I would still recommend this place to anyone!
