Sonny's BBQ Review

Good food excellent wait staff polite and respectful

We ordered through Bite Squad and they got the order so, so wrong. We ordered two meals which came with two sides per meal.

One meal was the Sonny's Sampler, which comes with brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and ribs, with two sides and garlic bread. We ordered mac and cheese and baked bean for the sides. We got mac and cheese and broccoli. Where did the broccoli come from? And there was practically no brisket. I thought it was more pulled pork or end pieces of the ribs with how small the pieces were. For $16.99.

The second meal was Ribs and Smoked wings with coleslaw and fries. We got neither side, 3 wings, and 4 ribs. For $14.99.

We understand that it's not Bite Squad's fault that the RESTAURANT got the order wrong. They are merely the delivery service that must deliver what the kitchen gives them. When we called Sonny's back to complain and get our order rectified, the manager blamed the whole ordeal on Bite Squad and said we had to go through them. The manager was rude the entire call and nothing was done to fix the situation beyond a meager $10 in-store credit.

Great atmosphere and even better food. Decently priced too, $10 for a lunch meal of ribs, fries, mac n cheese, and toast.

The place is clean..nice atmosphere and the service was so nice. The waitress was super friendly. Good place to eat! Great ribs and chicken dinner.. Drinks were delish!!!!

Takeout is cold and inedible.

If you cant cook a hamburger properly then how can you be employed as a cook? If you can't take an order how can you work as a waitress/hostess? If you can't follow simple instructions then how have you lived this long?

Went here again, ordered a sliced pork sandwich. The waiter forgot my meal after he served everyone else in my party. After someone with me finally got his attention, my cold sandwich arrived. The meat was sliced thickly and was from the grisseley fatty part of the loin that should not be used for a sandwich.

Their meals speak for themselves.
They say: "We don't have any respect for you."

Please management, get a hold of these issues. We like barbeque and your location is convenient. The service and the food quality is not worth paying for.

This is the fanciest Sunnys ever! Great atmosphere and comfy seating.

They refurbished the inside. Looks nice. They have TVs, good atmosphere and food is awesome! Love the salad bar.

We all love Sonny's we know what we get when we go there they have excellent barbecue

Had to wait for the staff to clean a table and instead of cleaning the table she decides she will clean all the tables before seating us and I'm handicap.

I paid 11$ an some charge for the pulled pork sandwich meal and got 14 fries. I found that ridiculous. The Sandwich was good after I pulled massive slabs of fat off. I was unimpressed, I feel they could have done better with my order.

Always consistently good BBQ and service. Had brisket sandwich - it was featured on a promotional insert in the menu so I don't know if it's for short time - it was good & I rate it a "keeper"

Worst meal I've had in years. My daughter and I both had Mac n cheese for dinner around 5 and by 10 I was nauseas. At 12 I was woken up to my daughter vomiting violently and choking on it. The next morning talked with my child's Dr and was told most likely got sick from the food we had at dinner. The timeline was right. My wife came in the next day and talked to the manager and said there's no way you can prove you ate here. I guess I will decline the 40$ change that just hit my account from this store since we didn't eat there. It was the only place we ate that day.

Always good to be back home where you can get good BBQ

Food very tasty. Went on a Saturday when it was very slow spent over $15 and left hungry. Portions are very small. Order was wrong drinks were wrong. the end my bill I was overcharged for 4 extra sweet tea drinks that I did not order. Food was greatI will never go again unless somebody else is paying for me

I didn't like Sonny's as a kid, but I had a pretty good experience here. The food was much better than I remember it being. There is still a lack of options, but I'd give it another go should the opportunity present itself.

I have been here on multiple occasions and they always pull through, very clean and comfortable atmosphere. They have been the best. Keep up the great job guys..

They opened at 11am for lunch. We walked in at 11:02am the floors was dirty and sticky there was food under the tables and the bathrooms was nasty NOT cleaned.

Service was horrible, we waited over 20 minutes for our check and a hour for our meal at lunch time. When we asked our server for the check multiple times she was rude to us. After we left the server found me on Facebook insulted us through the messager app. I spoke to a manager moments after I received the message and was told I would be called back for a refund for our meals after I emailed a screenshot of the message and account that sent it. Nobody ever call me back. I called again and was told a different manager would call me back which never happened.

I loved it good service nice environment good food.had ribs and a salad and a soup chili it was good .atmosphere was good.

Always great friendly service, good quality food served warm and fast. Great value for your dollar and loved the new layout and decor. Took my son to lunch and kept saying that he had no idea how Nice and good SBQ was...had some tv's to watch football, just a few so it wasn't blaring like a wing place. Full well stocked bar that we passed, outdoor seating as well for those three weeks in spring and fall where its tolerable to sit outside. Tried the 3 meat combo and 2 sides, should have taken a picture. Nice presentation, just enough of each to leave you pleasantly full yet eager to come back again soon. Cornbread is delicious as well.

This is a slice of chain food heaven, Sonny's is my go to for big franchise BBQ.

We ve been going to Sonnys for 4 or 5 years now at least once a month. We ve never had a complaint about it and we ve always enjoyed the family fest plate there. We hadn t been back since the weekend before restaurants closed dining but we decided to go today to support the business, however now I found myself probably never considering coming up when the stay at home order is lifted. We got there to pickup out order and ended up waiting 15 minutes after the pickup time to get it. The food was cold and the portions extremely disappointing. Usually at the restaurant we get two pieces of chicken with the rest being meats. There were maybe two pieces of briskets and two ribs and maybe to tablespoons of pork. All the kids were asking after for more pork and brisket And I kept having to tell them there was none left when usually we have leftover after. The side dishes were also smaller and just as cold as the main plates. I don t think we will be back there for a while is the level of service continues to be this bad.

The beef brisket is to die for!!! Have it sliced on a bun or garlic bread with tots and you will be a happy person!!!! Love this place staff is always friendly and accommodating!!!

My fiance and I went to Sonnys right before they were getting ready to close. We ordered two brisket sandwiches ,and fries. We received our food and went home ,upon arriving home and getting our food out the bag ,we realized our sandwiches were hard. We weren't able to bring them back being they were closed. I called the next day and spoke with the manager he had no problem with giving a meal in replacement for our inconvenience. Thank you Sonny's on Archer Road !! Great customer service. Food was hot and fresh and fries were seasoned perfect.

I really like Sonny's new design of their restaurants. They're much more welcoming and feel more modern.

The staff was very friendly, attentive, and courteous. The food was decent, but not the best Sonny's meal I've ever had. The chopped brisket was dry and crumbly. Needed lots of sauce to eat it.

The salad bar was OK. Some of the veggies were really waterlogged but edible. Definitely had better at other Sonny's.

I was traveling through with my young daughter and the waitress was helpful getting us out quickly which was awesome.

I'd go back, but just once more if the food isn't better.

Good location just off the interstate.. been to several Sonny's locations throughout the years.. this was the most modern location I have been to yet.

Staff was pretty friendly and food was pretty good.

Not what it used to be. Been eating here since I was a kid but its definitely not the same quality. I only get the chicken, the pork is terrible

Wasn't the sonny's I'm use to eating to, slice beef is not supposed to be cut in chunks it supposed to be sliced very un happy Gainesville archer road

First time at this eatery. Sauce selection was good and the donut holes were way too good. Glad we chose those. Corn muffin was yummy too.

I love Sonny's, and have since the mid-80's, but the prices have CLIMBED. I only took one star away for the high prices, but the food, service, and atmosphere (especially at this store) is pretty great.

This place is much better then the one on waldo rd. But not 5 stars. I always have a problem when i am here.

Ribs were delicious with great smoky flavor. Not the best ribs in town but decent. The Barbecue beans were no good, bland and watery. Now, the customer service was the biggest disappointment. The restaurant was empty and I was just like another piece of furniture. I won t bother coming back, if I want ribs I ll drive a bit more and go to Adam s Ribs.

Good straight-forward BBQ with a variety of sauces. Family friendly atmosphere.

Great food! Got a ton of it. Even though our waitress was new she was awesome. The ribs were awesome, tater tots nice and crunchy, as well as the fried okra! Place was really clean and everyone was following COVID precautions.

Im coming in from out of state and the worker's we're friendly, and happy to serve me and my family. Thank you alot.

I've been to many other Sonny's restuarants in other locations, but this is by far the nicest one I've ever visited. I loved the design with the large windows, the waitress (Haley) was wonderful, and the food was really delicious- as expected. I had the sampler plate, and all the BBQ is great, but the chicken is some of the best anywhere. Nice place where you can find different kind of meats. I choose brisket and was very good. I have been there many times during the years and always enjoyed the food.

We've eaten Sonny's in several different states, they've always been reliable. Large portions, the ability to upgrade to all you can eat and a wide variety on the menu make Sonny's a no-brainer, especially if you're traveling like we were.

This food was awesome. AJ our server was phenomenal. Great atmosphere.
