Prepared just as we ordered it and really, really fast. Sliced (thin) pork, hot beans and cole slaw for me while my wife ordered the pork with beans and fries. Great portion size and did I say they were really fast tonight? Manager stopped by to ensure all was well. Great job Sonny's!

After waiting for an hour and spending 30 bucks, we made a curbside pickup. The order on our receipt was correct and yet had all wrong food in the bag. It was all cold and somewhat harder than normal. Not impressed whatsoever.

Always good but the salad bar looks like it needs some help

This location of Sonny's is very different than usual. The food is the same great food. But the building is more industrial. Sonny's are usually country style. The service is not quiet and personable ad usual either.

This restaurant is probably more concerned about their customer safety than any of the other dozen restaurants or so we've been to in Gainesville over the past week. They made sure everybody was appropriately distanced and they are actively disinfecting every menu table and chair between customers right out in the open where you get to see how much care they are taking to keep you safe. Though the waiter was not sure what I meant by burnt ends I was able to get a giant pile of moist brisket with some good charcoal edges. You have to order your brisket chopped or you're going to get the dry inside pieces. We also started with the tater tots, which were really good. I also recommend the redneck egg rolls. we didn't end up using the dip that came with the egg rolls because the egg rolls themselves were so delicious. The beans were also really good and the coleslaw was a nice combination of creaminess and flavor.the other menu item that I would highly recommend is the steak hamburger. The meat had a really good moist flavor to it without feeling overly fatty. The bread was also extremely fresh. They gave us so much food that we had no room for dessert, but we will be back.

As always, good food, good service and a nice clean place. Sonny's has been really nice since they moved across the parking lot.

Compared to the alachua store I was shocked at size of ribs and the stale dried up state of them. I ordered take out at a busy lunch time. No excuses. We expect the high level of quality at Sonny's as we're used to.

Good location, clean and hot fresh food. I have no complaints.

Dont like much. Feels dirty. Had a friend sick afterwards a while ago with the location on Waldo road

Iove the it. Great option for people with hypertension and diabetes or anyone else that's watching their salt and sugar intake.

Pleasantly impressed with the ambience, service and food quality. Multiple interesting options on the menu.

Really good but food service was great but the covid kept everyone else away so not a good test.....

We just love Sonny's!! This location is.no exception, in fact, Wow!! Clean, good friendly service, hot food. What's not to like? We were seated immediately upon entering, drinks and food ordered just minutes later. Our waiter was amazing....so sorry I don't remember your name. We were in and out in just under 20 minutes!! LOL. The salad bar is amazing, I'm usually skeptical about all salad bars and buffets, but this one is awesome. Great effort by all!!

Has always been a favorite place for me. I enjoy there salad bar and side dishes for a light meal.

As an outsider I was directed to this place with much hype. I thought it was ok but not great, especially in terms of price and potion size. They do make take out easy with an accessible window.

well California is not known for good bbq, and Sonny s is not helping by any means. The service was pathetic, it took 3 hours to get our food (restaurant pretty much empty). The only thing that wasn't pre made that was ordered was the sweet potato fries.
The meat is ok the sauce needs work.

The Archer Road location is the best in my opipion. Fresh cooked, appealing food. Good customer service.

Really good BBQ joint!! Loved the brisket and ribs! My daughter sometimes doesnt wat everything but ate ALL of her mc n cheese and corn. She loved they had fried okra!!

The food was great and our waitress was sweet as could be.

Food was mostly good, service a bit slow. Had to flag down server to get refils. Fries were cold. Potatoes salad to much mustard. Great consisitancy. If not for mustard it would have been excellent.

I'm just not a fan of this place... You can't call yourself a pitmaster when none of the meat is mastered.. I ordered all you can eat ribs and every time they brought out more, they were worse than the rack before.... They we're either over cooked or over seasoned. Had so much fat on them it was ridiculous. I ordered another rack just to prove my point and what do you know? Worse!!!! I mean the last time I came here, I had pulled pork and it was pretty much just a big pile of fat just like the ribs.... All I'm saying is, if you're going to call yourself a pitmaster, you need to deliver!!!! Great waiter. She was very pleasant and welcoming!!!! At least the service is better than the food lol...

A solid entry into mid level family dining. While the quality has diminished (used to be outstanding) and the prices have risen since going corporate, the menu is on par with other family restaurants. If I had to rate Sonny's on just its BBQ, it would be 3 stars. The new 'original' sauce is far inferior to the old actual originial sauce. However the 5 star salad bar, large drink sizes, and decent service, bump it back up to 4 stars.

The steak burger is great. Always cooked just the way it's requested. The service is always great & the prices are good. Nothing more I can ask for.

Great! Had a fantastic sever and the brisket was to die for

Ordered a rack of ribs for two to go, and when we got home they were so dried and hard to chew... seemed like leftover from lunch time. The same happened to the baked beans... so dried and overcooked. It was so obvious that they were not fresh. I just do not understand how can they give food like that to a paying customer. Management or the person in charge to serve the food did not care. Other times that we dinned at this location, food was perfect... so beware if you order to go! Maybe that's when you will get leftover food...

I love Sonnys. I've ate at Sonny Tilmans table for Thanksgiving. I've been a fan since it was Sonnys fat boys on Waldo road.

Love this place they are a nice chain I haunt tried to much of their menu I'm always stuck in the all you can eat ribs with smoke sauce and chicken beasts and sweet tea with corn beard they do those food pretty awesome

Called in our order at 6:03pm. (Two pork sandwiches, "shaved thin", Two orders of fries) Took several minutes to place the order. (busy) Arrived at the restaurant at approx. 6:13pm. ToGo server ignored me even though I was standing in line behind person being served and took someone else who cut in line although I been in line before they even came through the door. Food finally came out at approx. 6:23pm but sandwiches were not correct. Had asked for "shaved thin". It was sliced regular. Sent sandwiches back and took 8 additional minutes to correct. By this time my fries were cold and asked for fresh ones. Took an additional 7 minutes. Departed Sonny's at 6:39pm. Never saw a manager, never received any real apology, only excuses. No compensation or offer thereof for my patience or loss of time. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Good food, fast, definitely sanitizing every chance they get.

Well, it didn't go well, they didn't give me the sale price. BBQ 3 ways 13.99 / sale 12.50. ordered slaw and beans. No cole slaw when I got home. But the kicker was the sliced potk was tough and grizzly. Maybe next time. Grrr

Food was good as expected. Temperature inside restaurant was a little cold. Fries came with pepper on them. Not a bad thing just not used to it. All in all a good dining experience.

This Sonny's is one of the best We've eaten at. The atmosphere was great, and the portion size was excellent. I find the portion sizes have varied at the different Sonny's restaurants. Some are a bit greedy with their portions. This site gave a nice plate of food. Server was good, food arrived quickly. We were very pleased One complaint, ( there's always one ) Lol, was the music was too loud

The food is good but she brought me the wrong pork the 1st time and then when I got my plate back the bottom piece of the garlic bread was not toasted at all. While I waited for her to come back (took a while) I ate my toasted half and then she took my entire plate to fix it. Now I am sitting here waiting for it..... waiting waiting.... thankfully my not even 2 year old is behaving himself and enjoying his Mac n cheese.

We love sonny's but I'm a bit disappointed in this meal.... :(

It had been awhile that I had stopped by to eat , but I had the Chopped brisket and it was delicious, well burnt and slow cooked to perfection

I have been eating at Sonny's since the womb (literally) and love it. Unfortunately, my only bad experiences have been at this location. Fries so salty they're inedible and fatty meat I spent 20 minutes trimming....a number of times over the years. Great manager but the staff could improve.

Service a little lacking after food arrived but food was up to sonnys standards,good overall experience.

Alachua County Commissioners suck tho. Tortured by paper straws, plastic forks, paper menus, sauce packs, "social distancing" , face masks. All fake hype. The rest of the state is open. Nope, not Alachua County. Vote them out!

Consistency in food quality for the brand. Love the salad bar. Great service!

Newly remodeled,same great food as always.
Several new menu itens,items, and grilled scheme sandwich was very good.topped it off with hot donut holes,yum.

Customer service was good but the food was cold. Very disappointed. Won't be back here. Cook your food when ordered don't have it cooked a head of time.
