After reading the recessions and for the price, we expected something better. The room was badly soundproofed, bedclothes a disaster (you think you sleep in plastic), air conditioning very loud, receptionists sometimes seem overwhelmed, lady at the breakfast reception very unfriendly. Parking garage very cramped and hardly usable with a larger car unless you accept scratches. Only the food was great. No matter if breakfast or dinner in the restaurant.
The location of the hotel is great, near the park and close to good transport links. Initially I was put in a twin room after waiting around for a few hours to check in. After complaining I was moved to a king room. The room has been good, everything you'd expect at this price bracket. Enjoyed the new improved bathrooms. Will shortly be using the gym and pool facilities, which look amazing. The overall service has been acceptable, I'd have rated this good, if it had not been for the staff member that had let them down on check in. It really only takes one bad apple these days. Overall, I've enjoyed my stay.
Great hotel! Great location, nice service (free umbrella if needed, bedtime candy) and priced absolutely in order for what you get. The breakfast was great too!
Rooms are very nice, clean, spacious BUT the doors have a very strong automatic closing .. that is so loud that you are definitely scared when the neighbor comes late on the same floor to "home" or early to Breakfast broke up .... I did not try sauna ... Swimming pool and fitness were great. The car park is very tight ... with a Tiguan but still quite feasible. Already When booking a room I asked for gluten intolerance. was not a problem with the breakfast ... in advance: the breakfast was rich and delicious BUT the rolls * there was only 1 sort) did not go ... hard and dry ... at the other level of the whole hotel is for I do not understand why
on top of that there are so many gluten-free providers in Berlin ... we can only dream about that here at home ... quite frankly ... it's discriminatory if it does umpteen rolls ... bread ... cakes ... crepes ... waffle ... toast ... etc ... and you get 2 TOTAL DRY HARD BUNNIES
pity ...
Excellent place to stay, close to Tiergarten Park, Zoo and Aquarium. Not far from Kaiser Wilhem I Memorial or best brands Shopping Stores and restaurants. The beautiful view to the Park is a plus. The inside restaurant and bar are nice places to eat and drink from the menu and meet some friends and collegues. Friendly and helpful frontdesk. Concierge was outstanding to recommend the best way to get a travel fun at Berlin.
This is our default hotel for our annual visits to Berlin. It should be five stars but I feel for the type of hotel some room elements have not been 100% but that is me being very harsh. Nevertheless we love the hotel, the the staff, breakfast, location and pool spa.
A top hotel in a top location. The fitness area is great and the pool huge. The rooms are big, modern and very clean. Due to the location in direct proximity to the zoo and the good connection an ideal starting point in Berlin. The restaurant is great and the bar leaves nothing to be desired. I am always happy to be here.
During our Berlin weekend, we booked one night in this Pullman 5-star hotel through Expedia. We had a confirmation from Expedia about the booking and payment of the Deluxe Suit Room.
We wanted to check in at around 5:00 p.m. The booking was in front of the hotel and the room was available. At the reception we were put off first. "The room is still being prepared. We should be patient at the bar!" We bought it and waited. Woman 8 months pregnant. 8 year old daughter and exhausted from the journey. At least 11 hours drive.
We waited 2.5 hours. Every now and then we asked, but the room still wasn't ready. After waiting 2.5 hours, we decided to go out to eat somewhere. At around 10:30 p.m. we came back again.
We still did not get a room key. The front desk said that they did not have a confirmation of payment. Our confirmations from Expedia did not interest them.
After a long back and forth. Did I have to deposit my credit card again as a deposit so that I, my pregnant wife and my daughter, could finally go to the room. It was now 11pm!
The next morning I called Expedia. They clarified it immediately. There was a mistake at the reception.
Conclusion:
Never again! The shift supervisor: UNPROFESSIONAL. Something called 5 stars ????
Also a small note about the deluxe suite room (just under 500.00 / night): Everywhere cracks, broken doors etc. Every two star hotel is probably better.
I stayed here for a little over a week. We were treated very well and the staff were always available when needed. Thank you for an excellent experience in our first stay in Berlin
Great, unobtrusive, modern designed hotel. Room like new and well equipped. Good breakfast. Large swimming pool with sauna and steam bath. Attentive staff. Access to the underground car park with large cars only for experts ;-). Upon request, dad drives staff
The Schweizerhof has been one of Berlin's top hotels for many years. The modern, well-kept house offers a top location at the zoo, combined with modern, comfortable rooms. With the large hotel pool and spa, the Pullman business hotel offers tourists an alternative for rainy days. The decor of the entire hotel is modern, bright and very well-kept. The breakfast buffet at the Schweizerhof is known for its size and high service and product quality. In short: the hotel was known for its comfortable functionality. After many visits we have now discovered with great astonishment that the ambience of the formerly somewhat sterile-looking house has changed completely after the last renovation. The lobby was spectacularly designed by the Russian Sundokovy Sisters. Olga and Irina Sundokovy received high honors for their redesign. The designers have perfectly combined the functional Bauhaus architecture with modern, colorful contemporary art. When designing the lobby, they were inspired by the zoo and aquarium opposite. In the vestibule there is a 7 meter high giraffe and the stylish restaurant BLEND is adorned with a large zebra sculpture. The lobby with reception and lounge bar is enlivened by colored light installations. After the redesign, the Schweizerhof has developed into one of the most interesting art hotels in the city while retaining all the advantages.
A nice hotel with very friendly staff. Price / performance ratio is right. I had an event in another Berlin hotel, but stayed in this house because I was thrilled last time.
The room was luxurious and had everything we needed to make ourselves comfortable, for example the shower has a warm towel rail so you can dry towels or anything on it. We did not even need our European charger adapters because they had USB ports right on the bed. Kind! Maid was superior and always reliable. We enjoyed our stay! I highly recommend it.
Highly recommended hotel! Clean, luxurious, excellent service, good breakfast, big and beautiful room, perfect bed, great bathroom. Charming and highly professional staff, give a great feeling. Spa and pool at the highest level: exemplary order and cleanliness. We were a couple with a 5 year old child, booked a standard room and got a deluxe with extra bed. At breakfast, treat the little ones to chocolates (we were at Christmas time). A zoo and an aquarium a 1-minute walk from the hotel, 5 minutes from the most beautiful Christmas market in Berlin, as well as the magnificent Kodam shopping boulevard full of malls and shopping centers. Many thanks to the hotel staff! Highly saturated The Shmueli family
A great place to stay in the old West Berlin. It is easy to get to from the airport. One train from the airport to the locality. Located near the Zoo, the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and KaDaWe. Staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of local stores for food and provisions. Free WiFi. You are 30 minutes walk to the Brandenburg Gate and a further 30 minutes to Alexanderplatz. At Christmas time there is a Christmas market where the food is good.
good location, unfortunately the service at reception or in the evening is not worthy of a hotel in this category. . . the breakfast like the coffee unfortunately bad
High prices and high level! Rooms are generously equipped, the guest has a free bottle of water and the bathroom is clean and modern. The selection of pillows requires special attention, as in addition to the usual variants, a version made of cold foam is available (very comfortable). Service and culinary offer make the stay a pleasant experience.
Had a great experience here. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, with 4 pillows (which is super uncommon for Germany in my experiences). The spa was under renovation but with a practical (and free) solution at a nearby hotel. The service was super friendly. They have parking but it is not free. 30 a day with the ability to leave and come back as you wish. Walking distance to Bikini Berlin!
Generally good hotel. Expensive breakfas, food and drinks - don't eat here, walk around the corner. I was a bit disappointed they didn't offer toothpaste even in the exclusive rooms - I hadn't packed any because I thought that 5 star hotel would have some. Would still consider coming here again.
We came here as part of a business trip and I was amazed at how amazing the hotel was. The hotel was huge compared to the other ones we stayed at in other countries for the same price and amazing quality rooms too. The hotel staff are present and friendly and the pool and gym facilities in this hotel are top notch. We received complimentary breakfast which also was amazing. For the price we paid, it was the best stay, I'd return to this hotel no matter for business or personal. It was in a great location too close to public transport, shops, and the aquarium.
A beautiful hotel with great rooms and extremely good beds as well as kissem and blanket. What bothered us was the view of the construction site in the courtyard. Although we were looking forward to the zoo outlook. The pool and fitness was very nicely done.
