We liked the hotel and especially the good breakfast and calm atmosphere. Yes there is a road between pool and beach but to us it was not as noticeable as others stated (long tail boats on the water are louder). We came with small kids and for others that might be bothered by their noise there is a 18+ area which I would appreciate if I was traveling without kids. The pool is so big that the adult area should not hear much of the kids at all. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. We are no easy guests with small kids so I am well aware of the patience it requires to host us. The pool is great, enough sun chairs are also available. Some of them are placed on the lawn without dedicated parasols. The towel service is the best I ever experienced. You grab them and leave them every day by the pool. No need to take them to your room or exchange them for a towel token. Easy and without bother. Rest rooms however are sparsely available around the pool. If you are not comfortable changing your clothes in public or are in need of a bathroom your own room becomes the only option. This is where
my one major point of criticism comes into play: very long walks within the hotel. The locations we use in the hotel (room, pool, toilet, playground and breakfast room) are within 100 meters. However there are no shortcuts whatsoever. If you have a room on the upper floors at the end of the building you have to first walk 100 meters to the only entrance into the building then 100 meters in the wrong direction to the only elevator and then 200 meters to the room. That is very long for a room that is not even 50 meters point to point away. While my wife wanted me to ask for a ground floor room prior to arrival I have decided not to ask for preferential treatment and hoped that we (two small kids with a stroller) would be automatically placed in a more accessible part of the hotel. That was not the case. I saw other families like us on the ground floor (having a separate terrace entrance into the room). My recommendation to guests with limited mobility is to ask for ground floor rooms. My recommendation to the hotel: Charge extra for ground floor rooms or reserve them for guests that need them the most. Without having to drive a stroller around I wouldn t mind the upper floors but with a stroller it has impacted my experience so I can only give 4/5 stars.

Beautiful place, high prices. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bathrooms need refurbishment. Close to beach. Huge pool area. Location is quite far from airport. Shuttle service to Aonang. Private boat trips possible every day.

If you are used to and look forward to the Sofitel experience, then this resort will live up to most of those expectations.
The property - needs some upkeep but overall in really good condition. The rooms are large, well appointed, quiet and well maintained. Most rooms face the pool / ocean. The swimming pool is truly massive and not overly chlorinated so perfect. The swim up bar is great to relax at and the fact that there is an adult section makes it perfect to relax at. There are activity rooms, a gym etc.,. The Spa was great, almost an oasis in the whole place. Really quiet and the people working there seem to know what they're doing.
The food - We tried the italian restaurant as well as the lunch / breakfast at the main cafe and it was all really delicious and decently priced. What is amazing is that they have gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options everywhere.
The beach - due to local government regulations, hotels aren't allowed to build on beaches so there isn't really a private beach to speak of but, since there isn't much else around the hotel, you need to cross a tiny road and you're at the beach and it is more or less all for the hotel.
Surrounding areas - some nice restaurants just a short 10-15 minute walks away plus, the hotel provides a freeshuttle bus to Aonang beach which isn't far away.

Most importantly, we arrived really early, around 10am and had a late flight out and the staff was really accommodating and allowed us an early check in and a late check out ( however, it was off season so they had a lot of rooms empty ).

Overall a great experience, lovely staff and management, amazing food and SPA... what else do you want?

Our week at Sofitel Krabi was terrific. The hotel is large but very well laid out with beautiful tropical gardens and generously sized rooms with great views. The pool did not disappoint - its huge! There are plenty of spots to hang out if you want to lie quietly and read (or nap!!), lots of room to swim and a swim up bar which makes very tasty cocktails. We tried all 4 restaurants more than once and were never disappointed. The food was incredible! There are plenty of activities on offer both through the hotel and around the area itself as well as golf right at the hotel. in our opinion, the thing that makes Sofitel Krabi exceptional and a stand out hotel in an area where there are many accommodation options is its staff. They are friendly, professional, incredibly helpful and they honestly go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome.

The lobby area and the restaurants are fantastic, the pool bar is slightly lacking staff and many times were over run. The room furniture quality is great but the finish in the rooms is some what to be desired, it seems as though there has been a refurbishment done but only to certain parts of the rooms - defiantly needed a re-paint.

Staff were very polite and helpful but sometimes had to wait up to 10 mins to get our drinks. Food in the Indian / Thai restaurant was fantastic, happy hour made the drinks prices much more reasonable and a very nice setting in the bar also.

It is a very large hotel, that was fortunately pretty empty when we stayed- at busy times I think it would be unpleasant. Staff were 'fine' but not overwhelming. Breakfast restaurant staff were much better- helpful, friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was lovely and large with a lovely large ( though quite hard) bed. Pool was nice, but at height of season would be very busy with the sunbeds all round. Road traffic could be heard pool side, and it was a quiet time of year. All the add on services at the hotel were very expensive. Gym was good w new equipment. Decor of hotel 'fine' not especially great, Very much a resort hotel withe average standard decor.

We had a great stay at the Sofitel with nice friendly staff in the club room with( Bella,Tanya and Ing I cna remember)making our stay great. It was very quiet due to low season which made the stay nice and Quiet.

We had breakfast in the main area and were greeted every morning with a smile by Lockkatte.

We couldn't fault any of the staff during our stay.

Very disappointed!!! It was a nightmare since they just DELETED my reservation from the system!!!!!!!!!!!

I have made a reservation online and checked with the hotel via phone the next day.
I wanted to make sure my reservation was all set and good to go before I booked the flight tickets. When I called the hotel they told me that it was all set and notified me the confirmation numbers...I double checked with the hotel several times during the call if it is all good to go and they said yes....so I booked my flight.

Few days later they notified me that the hotel is fully booked and cannot accept me and my parents. I called them immediately but they were very arrogant, just saying that their hotel is fully booked. I told them that I've already received the confirmation number, but they just asked me "who gave you the confirmation number?" again and again in a very unprofessional, rude manner.

The hotel ruined my entire vacation schedule, and left a very bad experience with the entire Sofitel brand. I would never consider staying with them ever.

This hotel scarred my honeymoon and birthday they accused me of lying they made me double for an excursion.. threatening to call the cops on me I was so scared to stay there even after paying money for the phi phi island trip I was tortured. They said they have a CCTV footage when I said bingo that would make them believe they said sorry no footage and said sorry after making my honeymoon the worst ever.. they are cheating their guests and had passed racist comments.

The Thai staff were exceptional, well presented and couldn't do enough for you. Trips to the islands were also well organised and very comfortable. Easy to walk into the local town and there is a shuttle bus into Ao Nang. (when you go to Ao Nang don't go into the foreign owned bars and restaurants, go to locally owned, head and shoulders above the rest). Sofitel staff were also were very patient when trying to learn the Thai language. Overall the stay was Dee Mak Mak food was Aroy Mak Mak especially at the pool bar.

Very impressive with Sofitel Phokeethara Krabi impressed with the cuteness of all staff. Smiling, greetings, hello, honor the guests equally The first step to reach this hotel, Sofitel Phokeethara feels friendly. Smile and caring every step until delivered to the overall room. Very impressed. Please encourage all employees. That serves customers well Thank you for your experience with Accor.

Delicious food, drinks, attention to every detail Since the welcome As for the course, it is a 9-hole course, although it is mostly a par 3 course, but a beautiful lay-out setting with a view of the sea up the hill a little. It is another private field in Krabi Province. There are challenges and have to try to play by yourself. The golfers who do not like walking May have to accept it. There are no golf carts here. And golfers who want a caddy I recommend bringing your own caddy or inform the hotel early so that they can prepare a caddy for you.
It is a Golf Resort that is worth staying and playing.

Good area with beautiful views and a very large pool, the water is very warm and it is a joy, the bad thing in my opinion is the beach rather ugly and not very suitable for swimming because when the tide goes down a lot of stone and little water to swim

One of the best hotels resorts I ve been! The service is great and so is the rooms and food.
The location is right next to a beautiful beach and they also have one of the biggest if not the biggest pool in all Thailand.

I am very satisfied with the overall customer service experience at front counters, conceige, house keeping, restaurants, swimming pool, local transportation, etc. However, much improvement is needed on the provision of Air Con services & power supply as these services were interrupted several times especially past mid night to early morning.

My wife has already completed TripAdvisor review so doing hotel' review myself.

We arrived at hotel which has a WOW factor.
After arriving and checking into rooms. Not long after got an envelope in regards with credit card issue which was all sorted out fineally between General Manger and ourselves.

We chose to stay at Sofitel as was our 15th wedding anniversary on day of arrival.

Prior to travelling to Asia I had sent emails mentioning our celebration and also attaching copies of certificates. Replies came back to me as well noted and had suggestions for dinner venues.

During meeting with General Manger in regards with credit card issue it was also mentioned our wedding Anniversary.
BUT not once did anyone and I mean no-one during our stay say Happy Anniversary or even acknowledge our special occasion.
We were both disheartened especially myself as had mentioned to various staff prior to arrival and wanted to surprise my wife.

The Pool has the WOW factor. Kids really enjoyed the enormity. Was great swimming around the pool.

Staff in general all really nice & helpful.

One of the best hotel I've been in! I love everything, they even have cooking classes in case you want to learn how to make typical Thai dishes! The staff are super friendly like everyone in Thailand. The breakfast is wonderful! You will love it!

Land of Naga!

Land of Naga!
Set within a beautiful tropical garden on the edge of the Andaman Sea, our modern, low rise
resort is inspired by the mythical spirit of the Naga, the romance of the untouched rainforest and pristine beaches.
Throughout the resort, Sofitel's French flair and art de vivre blends with the genuine hospitality of the Land of Smiles, fulfilling and surpassing guest expectations. Tradition, history, myth, luxury and romance await in the most impressive, unforgettable and unspoiled part of Thailand.

Staffs are so kind and nice. Their service was great.
As my top priority for choosing my accommodation was big size swimming pool, it was perfect.
Room was same as i requested.
Breakfast was great as well with various choices (same for 2 days though)

Only one thing bothered us was access to the downtown.
The resort is running free shuttle bus to Aonang.
The stop wasn't the center of the downtown. We needed to get another transportation to go anywhere from where we got off the shuttle bus.
If it stops in the middle of the downtown, most of places are walk-able distance.
Other transportation wasn't reasonable comparing to Bangkok.

Other than that one thing, our stay at Sofitel resort was excellent!
I would definitely recommend it to others!!

5 star beautiful hotel, good service staff Various food, convenient rooms. The hotel provides airport transfer service. But with service fees Or if going to the hotel by taxi, about 400 baht per trip, but the disadvantage is The hotel is a bit far away. If you want to visit Ao Nang The hotel will have a shuttle bus to receive free transfers. Visitors can leave the morning. And wait for the car to get back around the evening

Superbly helpful staff and amazing infinity pool. Cheap transit required to get back and forth to Krabi. Expensive, but the hotel powerboat is definitely the way to check out the islands. Breakfast buffet is extensive and excellent. And most importantly, the French press conference coffee is first rate.

It is not the style of Sofitel we're used to. The hotel can use some extra painting and renovation. Food and beverage is quit expensive for the quality you're offering as we haven't got a real nice meal actually. Club Millisieme is lacking in the breakfast offering, cocktail hour is ok. Housekeeping is slow, when we left the room around noon, the room was still not cleaned when we where back after 17.00. The offerings with the all inclusive packages creates also more a 'cheaper' RIU or Club Med atmosphere and surely not the so called more exclusive magnifique style we're used from Sofitel as we've experienced with other Sofitels in Asia before.

Not a real 5 stars hotel. It s more a club med style. Staff doesn t speak very well english. Check in is very slow and staff are like robots saying their corporate speech non stop to your room. You don t feel pampered like in any five stars hotels! The hotel is full of families who think they have the right to do anything. Service at swimming pool is almost non existing. Rooms are noisy. You hear your neighbour walking or closing doors. Deco is very simple. The beach is a joke and you have to cross a road. There is no seaview as there are trees and electric cables along the road! Breakfast is average. Had a much better one at sofitel bali! Won t come back!

Family resort. Clean and accommodating, but dated....

Family resort. Clean and accommodating, but dated.(mind you so is the reader most likely )

Low hot water pressure and low temperature is an issue for anyone who prefers a hot bath. (On second thoughts , it's actually pathetic! Luke warm water that sometimes goes cold!)

A decent and varied breakfast spread, (but keep an eye out AND CALL THEM OUT (because the staff don't) for those who have no qualms in sticking their fingers into the porridge or baked beans to "test" the food! - this is obviously not the hotels fault, but the level of manners taught in certain Chinese families)

My problem with this resort (notwithstanding the hotwater issue) is the extreme mark ups and half sized portions of certain dishes. For example, the kids menu spaghetti is the same size as the main menu spaghetti but at half the price. 6 prawns in one dish may cost you 300 baht but when it's in a different dish with similar amount of ingredients, 3 prawns can cost you 500 baht ( there is no logic in pricing )

Their White Lotus restaurant has very good quality and consistent food, (a meal for two, with a bottle of wine will set you back about 4500 baht) but having tried the Italian restaurant, I would give that one a miss, not worth it and at the time we went , several listed items were "not available"... (Maybe that was a good thing)

I know it's a hotel and I am used to paying higher prices when staying at hotels but beware if you'd like wine with your dinner! A bottle of second rate wine (locally produced monsoon valley) sells for 1700 baht (and sells between 900 to 1100 baht in other hotels) but a second rate NZ bottle of wine of similar quality usually found in many restaurants and very drinkable is selling for 5500 baht which is about 17 times the price sold in a bottle shop. Maybe it's a trick to force people into buying the local wine at an inflated price. who knows! (The 7/11 nearby has a limited range of wine and plenty of beer at realistic prices)

This resorts remote access to competetive alternative restaurants etc, means they can price gouge with impunity.

The pool is big enough to allow for a relaxed quiet "golden age" side and a busy vibrant family side. The bar is the dividing line and the staff do their best with good round experience.

Overall not recommended at current prices, it's really a 4 star resort with a great pool (and many problems) not a 5 star quality hotel. A black mark for the Sofitel brand. You will find more modern, suitable options elsewhere.

Staff is helpful. The room is spacious. The swimming pool is large and if you go during low seasons almost the whole pool is yours. Food at hotel is recommended. It tastes good, especially in the White Lotus restaurant. Thier free shuttle service to Aonang is punctual and only take around 15 mins one way. Overall is a pleasant stay. If the hotel exterior wall of its building has been repaint it will be even nicer but that is just a minor shortcoming that doesn't affect our stay.

Excellent family stay. The breakfast is exceptional. The service too. The Thai restaurant is delicious. And I'm not leaving the pool. For those who want to stay away from children, an area prohibited for children under 18 is available. In short: only happiness.

The restaurant is Thai and Italian.

The restaurant is Thai and Italian.
Rent a scooter of 300 baht per day and stay nearby.
There is a very big swimming pool and it is good for children to play.
There is a 9-hole golf course, just over Thb 825, and club rentals are also at Thb 825.
The beach is not connected to the hotel and you have to go through a two-lane road, but the white sand is not so wide, so it's best to wear your shoes because there are corals.

This is one of the best resort in Krabi from my entire luxury hotel experiences. Their top-notch hospitality would never fail you. My boyfriend and I were immidietly recognized after we just arrived at the lobby, Hotel staff greet us by calling our name and were then escorted to the club lounge. This was insane! Khun Aem also came to greet us at the club louge which truely made us felt super warm welcoming. Khun Bella, our butler, is a pretty informative staff and did a really good job taking care of us during the three nights stay. We were upgrade to the prestige suite. The suite was really beautiful and huge. The sea and the pool view from the room were amezing. Sofitel Krabi made our special aniversary stay memorable and fantastic. Only problem we found during our stay was the power outage during the strom at night but it was the unusual situation. We totally understand that. On the other hand, at least we felt safe since we saw all the emergency lights in the hotel corridors were in the perfect condition during the power outage. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay, also the Sofitel staff impressed us woth their high standard of hospitality services. Highly recomended luxury hotel for everyone and every special occations.

It's a wonderful property with lush green golf courses and a huge pool. It is right on the beach as well. The three restaurants are all good and one of them has decent Indian food as well. Overall service is excellent and they have lots of daily activities for both adults and kids. Only negative is the property is about 20 mins from Ao nang but I didn't find it to be a big problem. They do have a complementary shuttle service to take you there.

Not too bad. The place is abit old and really need to be renovated. Accor website and customer support is rubbish, i signed up to inform the room i received is more expensive than other website but there is no response.
Wonder why they have that system in place and fool the customer to use it.

A perfect place to escape. Even though it was low season, we were lucky with the weather and hotel. Having the privileges of an Accor member meant that we were pampered the entire time during our stay. The upgrade of rooms put us poolside with a one bedroom suite, probably one is the best rooms in the hotel. Staff were continuously looking after us and being low season, we had most of the hotel to ourselves. Prices for activities were as expected in a resort of this nature. Our trip to Hong Island cost us around double the rate we found in town but we saved on having to travel to town as well as having all the small details such as towels and beach mat supplied. The free shuttle to town was a bonus for the day we needed time away for shopping for art. We'll be back! Thank you Sofitel for the getaway we were hoping for!

Pros: huge pool with swim up bar, activities, restaurant with good food (White Lotus), extensive breakfast buffet, great and friendly service. We did their excursion to Hong islands and had a great time.

Cons: leaky bathroom doors, uncomfortable bed (I have a firm bed myself but this one gave me lower back pain), bad pillows (your head just sinks in after 5 mins), no direct access to beach
