We loved our waiter (Robert?) And the food was awesome. We were thinking about using them for our wedding rehearsal dinner.

The food was great and the service was good.. i would good back again.. i took my mom and she loved it.. now ill take my girlfriend i know she will enjoy the food and the music... great place..

Food was great I order the bbq chicken mash and mac&cheese. My wife ordered the jambalaya rice

Service was slow. We sat in the back in some makeshift area felt totally detached from the restaurant and the vibe and the music. However, all the staff was nice. The food was decent.

The wife and I decided to visit this establishment based on reviews of friends. We walked in & the venue was a bit crowded but the wait for a table wasn't too long. After finding the hostess, we were steated within a few minutes. And to be honest, that was the shortest wait we had that night.



The owner was a few feet away from us and did nothing to assist with this issue. Our waitress had walked past us several times not acknowledging us as she did the other tables. We got more acknowledgement from the busboy pouring our water and the hostess after she seated us. Four other tables were seated, had their orders taken & recieved their food and drinks before us. Also as my wife was returning from the bathroom a different waitress almost knocked her over trying to get ahold of a busboy and didn't even apologize.

I can at least say the food was good. My wife got the chicken & waffles, and I got the salmon burger with the baked mac n cheese.

We had to get a to go bowl from the busboy, not the waitress because she went missing again & we continue to wait..... and wait....... and wait an additional 30 minutes just for our bill to find there was an upcharge for the liquor SHE offered us. They charge extra for Hennessy in the Brooklyn Bellini & Ciroc in the Soco Island which the waitress offered us as if the drinks already come with it. We did not ask for it. She also didn't mention that cheese on a salmon burger was an additional charge. Not that big of an issue but at least mention it.



I was really excited to visit this place & received a lot of recommendations to go there but the service really ruined the experience for us.

Don't like to exchange your food if something is wrong with your order. Want you to pay full price If they do exchange. They also want to charge 20 dollars to cut your own cake if you bring it in... Poor black owned business...

Alyssa the manager was the host on Sunday evening and was very unprofessional, she ignored us did not greet us and didn't even ask if we wanted to be seated or stay at the bar!!! she took so long i ended up staying at the bar while she was busy yapping with her friends!!! AAylisa needs to learn what adequate and ethical professional customer service is before she can be a manager.

The service was exceptional and the food great! We were served by mac daly's brother which was a plus. They look just alike and he too is low profile it seems. Great restaurant!

The drinks are not worth the price. I shouldn't be paying $15 dollars for 2oz of liquor.

Went there on a tuesday night. The bartenders are super crappy. Not to mention the drinks are watered down, an over priced.

I like to go with friends to this place with my warmest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. This recommendation is always successful. The dishes they serve are appetizing and the team is generous and cooperative. Every time we eat in this place we have a splendid evening. I warmly recommend this restaurant.

The chicken and waffles were to die for. Absolutely top of the line waiting service, arguably one of the most amazing servers I've ever had in decades. This place is a must stop if your going to be in the brooklyn area. I can't wait to go again.

Been going there for a couple of years, usually I get the same thing chicken and waffles or the lobster, shrimp and grits. I tried the B54 burger, didn't like it at all. Tasted like a soft, thick, meatloaf patty. The fries were horrible too. Bland no taste at all. Fortunately the rest of the food was fine. I'll be back.

The food is really good and well presented. I usually get the chicken and waffles but the French fries came out a little too hard other than that, everything else is good.

Awful pasta bland my friend steak was tough as hell . Waitress was not attentive. Call manager he explained he couldnt do anything about the bill the air because the owner has a set thing with everything and nothing he can do and we traveled from Charlotte . Could have just went to sports one Peter.

Wait was long but when the error was noticed the staff took care of it and the manager personally made sure we were taken care of. When the food arrived to say it was delicious is an understatement. The BEST chicken and waffles I've ever had and I've been to some popular spots. If you're in Brooklyn definitely check out soco.

Good food with a Southern Twist. Funky Jazz/Blues music playing and nice decor - slightly over priced, but that's New York. I would go back!

Excellence in everything! Customer service, food, drinks, atmosphere. The wings are absolutely melt in your mouth fantastic. Mac and cheese....no words. I almost cried how delicious it was. Steak with the garlic butter cooked and taste to perfection. My new favorite spot!

For the males, no sleeveless shirts allowed. Males must wear a shirt with sleeves or you will be asked politely to leave.

Second, the meals were nice. A short wait for a table but the waitress was very kind. Mac-n-cheese was always great of course. Just felt discriminated due to my attire. I was asked to go to the nearest 99 cents store to pick up a shirt.

A bit of a trouble getting a reservation done, but I am glad I chose this place for my visit here.
Their food is really what it's all about and I wanted to spend my entire vacation visiting for dinners.

Great brunch featuring some delicious food options and bottomless mimosas. Good service as well. The Southern Fried Chicken and Red Velvet Waffle is amazing.

We went for brunch. Nice place good atmosphere. A violinist played which was a nice touch, prior to that music was a little too loud.
I had delicious french toast, and bacon. The atmosphere reminded of the Shark Bar back in the days. I liked this spot would definitely go back!!

Went there yesterday for brunch, for the first time. The chicken and waffle was very good and so were the pickled oysters. Nice looking place. However, the a/c was not on and was very stuffy, warm and waaay too loud. Even the couple next to us was saying the same. It was very busy and the only table they had was right by the entrance which was no problem. The only problem was that behind us was a counter and stools and physically impossible for the waiter to attend/serve these people because three tables were in the way. Terrible set up. Water was served with no ice. Our waiter was nice however was missing most of the time.
I will say maybe they were understaffed for such a big brunch crowd. I will give it another try and maybe see improvements.

I absolutely love Soco! One of my favorite restaurants! The macaroni is to die for (Highly recommend)

Amazing venue... Amazing food.... only downfall was that the pricing we were given for a Sunday brunch was actually for a day Saturday brunch so we ended paying way more than we planned for.

Went to Soco for Saturday Brunch and was a bit disappointed. Although the music was good it was so loud I could hardly hear my friends and we ended up yelling instead of having a nice conversation.
I ordered the Clinton Hill Omelette with home fries and side order of spinach as they would not switch out the arugula for the spinach. It was very bland and didn't see any chicken. The spinach was bland as well. My daughter ordered the Mac and Cheese and I had some which was good. She also order the Sweet Potato Pancake which she did not enjoy at all and left most of it on the plate.
Would I go back, other than the Mac and Cheese, no thank you!

We literally waited an hour an a half for a table and food that was just ok. We have been here several times and made it a point to come here whenever we are in bk and love to support black business but not any longer.

It's a nice Caribbean spot with decent spacing to sit. The layout of the restaurant is really nice along with the ambience of the restaurant. The music created a vibe that felt great to be in. The customer service was not all that great. Felt neglected due to the missing orders that was place but the food on the other hand was good. Recommended for couples and group events.

The plates are beautiful when they come to the table. The food on the other hand is terrible. My son is a Mac and cheese expert, (he only 7), he was highly disappointed.(I have no idea what type of cheese the used) My salmon was good, it came with mashed yam which was doctored up canned yam and 6 string beans...smh, I will not be back..

This food tastes terrible. Black people don t do please!!! I ordered it on Uber Eats and it tastes and smells really bad. Never order the mashed potatoes or Mac.

Ate dinner there last night, and everything was perfect. You have to get the chicken and red velvet waffles. We loved our server, Lamar, too, who was super attentive. The manager let us roll up kind of late. Sorry... thanks for seating us anyway! We'll definitely be back. p.s. The Hostess had a very bad attitude. The Service was bad, tables were dirty soon as you walked in.

Oh yum! A delicious Saturday brunch enjoyed in the enclosed outdoor dining area. Could not resist the chicken and waffles on the menu. Service was super friendly with that southern touch! Will definitely come back again for dinner service and try out the other items!

This is my 3rd time here & I must say that not only is the food & drinks good.... But so is the service and the music...

I went for brunch. The service was good. The mimosa was good. The food was good but overpriced. The music was good but from where I was seated, it was so loud I could barely have a convo with the person next to me. Cool, lively spot.

Soco is fantastic! I came in for brunch with 2 friends and we had a great time doing the unlimited mimosas. Our waiter, Aaron, kept our glasses filled for the whole hour! We had the free corn bread because we checked in with Yelp, and the mac and cheese to start. Both amazing. We also had the chicken and red velvet waffles, the crawfish eggs benedict, and the sweet potato pancakes.

Visited this restaurant last weekend on a trip to NYC for the NYT Travel Show. Our family friend took us and I am so happy he did!

The atmosphere is really dark and chill, perfect for a relaxed dinner. We got a booth in the back area. It was frozen outside, so the heating in the back was so comforting. Soon after we sat down, the hostess came to our table and offered each of us a ticket for a glass of free prosecco at Soco's lounge next door.

We ordered a few things to share. Being quite large, the portions were perfect for sharing (we even ended up each packing an item to go). We ordered/shared the following:

- Aunt Cruz Mac & Cheese: The best mac & cheese I think I've ever eaten and my favourite part of this meal.

- Smoked BBQ Chicken: Really good, juicy chicken.
- Jambalaya: So yummy! Freshly made and served in a cast iron pot. It includes seared shrimp, Andouille chicken, chicken breast and dirty rice.
- Chicken wings: SO GOOD and full of flavour!

I also tried the red lemonade - a really delicious, fruity cocktail with a hint of sour. After dinner, we took our prosecco tickets next door and hung out at the lounge for a bit. It was very cozy and had a super laid back vibe.

Aside from the good food, the service was really friendly, fast and attentive. I definitely recommend going and trying this place!

cute little restaurant that has a pretty backyard, fairly pricy compare to other places next to school, but worth it, nicely decorated. one of my favorite is waffle and chicken, their specail red waffe is really tasty with maple syrup.

Nice location. Restaurant is beautiful. You and coming soul food restaurant. The lobster shrimp and grits were wonderful. The tomatoes and okra almost made me slap my momma. Lol no really she was with me. I Need to go back to try more things on the menu when I return to Brooklyn.

The atmosphere is lovely. The food is great especially the chicken and waffles. However, I got the ceasar salad with steak and shrimp. The salad was the best thing on the plate. The steak wasn't that tasty and the shrimp had a flavor I didn't like and it was too strong of a flavor. Overall the place is great. Our taste buds are different so we won't like the same tastes. Give it a try. Will definitely go back.

The Mac n Cheese was honestly the best thing I ve tasted in months. Beautiful space that s not super large where you feel overwhelmed by people either.

This place is amazing! My friend and I came in on a Tuesday afternoon. It was empty, so we didn't know what to expect.

The decor and lighting are perfect, modern contemporary, industrial, and clean. The bathrooms are clean with candles lit and the shared sink uses fresh Dr. Meyers soap.

There were so many delicious food choices that my friend and I decided to order two things and share. We got the braised short rib and the mac and cheese. That was heaven on earth. The short rib was completely tender and flavorful. The mash potato and gravy was creamy.

And the mac and cheese, the mac and cheese took me back home to mom's kitchen.

The bartender was great and attentive. They had a great selection of wine and craft beer.

Members of the staff occasionally stopped by and asked how we were doing. It's a fun place and a delicious meal.

Great chicken, mac n cheese, wack drinks and bugged out hostess. I see you letting others sit, while I came earlier and no, they didn t have reservation.

The service was decent, but it took entirely too long to get our food. I thought th vegetable flatbread was extremely too greasy and the salmon was a little uncooked. I m pretty sure I would never eat there again.

Appetizers were amazing but chicken n waffles were aweful too much dye in the red velvet waffles. Chicken was greasy n dark meat wasn t cooked fresh. Evil eggs were bomb! Shrimp roll was amazing. Greens weren t seasoned. Awesome atmosphere. If I go back I ll eat appetizers.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday and it was a very nice atmosphere. I had the Farmers Omelet which was very good UNTIL a baby roach ran across my plate and then made his/her way to the rim of my glass of water! SMH! That is BEYOND disgusting. The manager took care of the bill as she should've. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here.

First time here and I will definitely be back. The food was good, the ambiance was better. I would highly recommended going, very cultured and professional. The drinks could be a bit stronger. My wife had the lobster and stake special for Valentine's day , I wouldn't recommend the meal because lobster you will literally finish it in two bites and for the price, it's a ripoff. Everything else was great.

Food was a lot better then the first time I ate there. I actually enjoyed the food. However the music is so loud it's hard to have a conversation .
