I can t believe Smiles is actually getting a high rating. Their billing department can t seem to ever populate a proper bill and every time I have received a bill, every six months for 5 years, there is an issue with it. Their hygienist are great and I would get a second opinion from a different practice before they have you purchase a service out of routine. They have recommended that I replace my fairly new sealants, and by the time they wanted to replace my last one I got a second opinion from a different practice and my sealants were fine including the one they wanted to replace. Unfortunately they have lost all of my friends and family that we re going to this practice.
Staff was friendly and went out of their way to explain why they were doing something or recommending something.
We are new to the area and were lucky to discover Smiles on our own, I took my daughter in today and from the front desk, to the hygienist, and on to the dentist everyone single person was kind and professional. The hygienist was welcoming and warm to my daughter. She spoke to her in a fun way but also educated her in a very helpful manner that she would understand. I go in for myself tomorrow however the hygienist also took a moment to look at my gums and educate me on the proper way to prevent gum recession that I've been battling for years. Totally impressed!

I admire his commitment to his work and his use of innovative technology in the office. My teeth cleaning was also great-- Reena did a thorough job (and I am really particular about cleanings!) She gave me tips on how to brush/floss better and made me feel so comfortable in her chair. My experience at checkout was great as well-- fast, easy, and the front desk girls were so friendly. In the past I ve had some bad experiences and have been really apprehensive on seeing someone new; however, I needed to see a dentist for some pain I was having and was referred to Smiles by a close family friend.
I saw Dr. Rayek and he was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. He was gentle, knowledgeable and not to mention, compassionate. He was able to take care of my pain the same day AND I was able to get my teeth cleaned as well. I have never felt so at ease at any other dental office. The staff was friendly and everyone was eager to help. If I could give this practice 10 stars I would!!! Can t tell you how happy I am AND I m pain free!

Been going to Smiles since before it was known as Smiles and moved to this location. After living around the world and using other dentists, I d highly recommend Smiles. They tend to have great service, the latest technology, little upselling, and of course high quality care. Staff has changed a few times over the years and yet continues to be great. Reena especially does great work, as does the whole team. The few billing challenges we ve had were easily fixed. Much appreciated, everything about Smiles!

My first visit review. My cleaning was fine. Dr. Rayek is good. His staff is not.I m trying to work out the details of my Invisalign. The hygienist told me the appropriate next step. However, the billing person Nargiss, is completely dishonest. I ve still not had the appointment for the clinical check, The staff scheduled the wrong appointment. I did follow up with a receptionist. There has been no follow up phone call two weeks later. Their phone calls are recorded. It s their business policy. Dr. Rayek should listen to the lack of professionalism within his staff. His old partner, Dr. Grace Lee was exceptional at Smiles at Reston. It s a shame. His other office is more professional.

Dr. Rayek and his team are truly outstanding and really make you feel welcome. I've had extensive work done, and the service has been amazing. I've had to reach Dr. Rayek on a weekend due to severe pain and his response time and making sure I received proper treatment until I was able to come back to the office, was exceptional. The Dental hygienist that did the cleaning was very professional.However the way they do business reminds me of a car dealership.. They have a business office that try to up sell you. My feeling was that it's not about the patient and treating patients but it's about making an extra buck! They did treatment that was unnecessary so our insurance did not cover it. Read what you sign in there cause it becomes your responsibility.
Love that we can all go as a family. They are extremely great with kids and help remove any fears they may have towards the normal dental experience. Excellent service in an amazingly friendly and family like atmosphere. They have a genuine care for people and it shows. We love our dentists!
Dr. Riaz Rayek and his team of dental hygienist's are capable and friendly; all my dental procedures have been pleasant. With that said, the billing department/office management which Dr. Rayek is ultimately responsible for (being that it's his practice) is another matter.
After receiving bills after I paid for work rendered the same day, I would receive additional bills at a later date with the explanation being "your insurance didn't cover this." This occurred AFTER I made it clear to the billing coordinator I wanted pre-authorization for all work as to avoid surprise bills at a later date. Guess what .... surprise bills rolling in. One of the bills I received was for $1800, upon enquiry I was told to disregard it, there had been an error. Wonderful; no coronary that day. Today however, is a different matter. Upon my enquiry about a $163 I was told what I actually owe is $1400 .... lovely.
My husband learned quickly and changed dentists the first time this took place with him. He has NEVER received a surprise bill from his new dentist, imagine that!
This is the 3rd time it has happened to me and I have finally learned my lesson.
I advise future clients of this practice to proceed with caution with regard to costs.
I couldn't recommend a better dentist than Smiles at Fairfax Corner! I've never had a good experience at the dentist until I came to Smiles. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and the friendliest and kindest dental staff I've ever met. I absolutely love my dental hygienist, Homeira, but every person I've dealt with there has been wonderful. They put your health and comfort before all else and never recommend any treatment plan that isn't absolutely necessary. I used to have extreme anxiety about going to the dentist but now, it's just another easy appointment. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a better dental experience!

I rarely post feedback, but felt compelled to do so today. There are no shortage of stories or concerns about visiting the dentist, and I, too, share some of these worries. With sensitive gums/teeth, a few problem areas, and the persistent anticipation of unforeseen challenges, I don t often look forward to these semi-annual visits.
The key to alleviating all of these issues is a quality dental hygienist- one that is not only skilled at what they do, but one that is understanding, patient, accommodating, and doesn t ever dwell on your shortcomings. Rather, a quality hygienist properly cleans your teeth, provides useful tips, and elongates the stress and discomfort of the visit - through their personality/demeanor, quality workmanship, and overall approach and execution of the task.
We all want perfect teeth, but I m comfortable settling for the perfect hygienist. REENA - you are, simply, the BEST - and I appreciate all you do.

Dr. Rayek but find all the dentists are great. This week I had a deep cleaning with Homeira and she is the gentlest dental technician I've ever had. She is also caring and professional. I love the office staff. Each visit is like seeing caring old friends who all work together to help you in every way. Best dental office in the area!
Since I have been going to Smiles, I have lived in three cities in two states. Even when I'm not living locally, I keep going back because of their superb customer service (Stephanie!!!) and expert dental care.
I have been a patient here for many years. There is longevity in the staff and they do a great job. They are patient with my strong gag reflex and claustrophobia. They use the kid size x-ray film for my small adult mouth and the water pick to clean my plaque with ease. They don't judge me for my stains. I have lots of dental work and I really don't enjoy going to the dentist but they help me through it with many Smiles.
My whole Family has been going to Smiles at Fairfax for years ( my mom, my dad, my brothers, their wife's) I would never go to another dentist. This was the worst dental experience I ve had EVER. I told the dentist in the chair that her bedside manner was unpleasant and unprofessional because she was having a conversation about men and trips to Vegas while doing fillings on my teeth. I had an 11AM appointment. I was 20 mins late to my appointment for which I apologized. Virtual school had me tied up this am because my son s class had a sub. When I arrived, they told me I was an hour late. They tried to tell me that they had moved my appointment time and that they told me so on a prior call, where they verified that I filled out the new patient paperwork. I did so online prior to appointment. There was no mention of moving my appointment time. Integrity is must. They have 0. That was strike 1. Next they told me that they would not be able to accommodate me with same doctor to do cleaning and filings. I said ok no worries and took the offering of 2 doctors to complete my appointment. When the doctor came in she was not friendly nor did she introduce herself. It was odd. She had a huffy disposition. Strike 2. Then before I knew it she was doing an exam and suggesting the more than 10 of my teeth needed crowns. I was in shock and she did not break this news nicely. Crowns are around 3K each so there was no consideration of cost. I asked her which crowns I needed to prioritize. She gave a round about answer. She tried to persuade me to get a crown right NOW after telling me that 5 people were waiting on me and that I disrupted their schedule with my lateness. Now all of a sudden you have time to do a crown? Again, I apologized but that gave her no right to be rude and attempt to guilt me into spending more money during this appointment. It was insane behavior from start to finish. I was floored and I told the front desk upon leaving when I promptly had her send my records to my email, cancelled the cleaning and let her know I would never return. Basic respect, customer service and pleasantries are not in this office! Let to be a warning to anyone else. COVID has changed things fo so many, but we as humans, cannot forget to be kind.
Going to the dentist or setting my hair on fire...um, tough choice on paper but not when Smiles is the dentist office. From the ease of booking an appointment, to the four smiling welcoming ladies at the front desk, right from the start you know you are in a caring environment. Add to the experience, you never wait more than 5 mins to get in (they should sell how to book appointments to every medical office in town). If your mouth is a "gift to the dental gods" like mine and you need to come 4 or more times yearly for "maintence' having Reena is all you need to know your mouth is in the best of hands AND the experience borders on a pleasure!!
I go to Dr. Rayek for my Invisalign treatment and I couldn't recommend a better dentist! I needed two tiny fillings right before my Invisalign was put in and he filled them without numbing in less than 10 min. He's very down to earth and calming when it comes to dental work. The staff is great too from what I've encountered!
I have been going to this dentist for over 15 years. Reena has been my hygienist for over 10 years and Dr. Rayak is definitely at the top of his game. The staff is SO friendly, I have never waited more than 2 minutes, and I just received a text today from a friend asking how I have such a great smile. Even my grandkids from Houston use this dentist when they are visiting. My invisalign, and now my porcelain teeth were just the right treatment for my needs. The payment plan is easy.
Dr. S is the newest doctor at the practice. He is patient, gentle, quick and thorough. He took great care of me and got me back to work on time and with my work complete! I highly recommend him and this practice!
I visited the office with my husband after confirming they accepted our insurance. After showing up they stated they don t actually take our insurance. We used our medical insurance so that it wasn t a complete waste of time. They recommend that I need a crown and two fillings. I didn t think I needed that went to a new dentist and they said I needed no work. Very disappointed and feel ripped off. Never will I go there or recommend them. Fast forward a year and still no issues.

My family and I have been patients here since shortly after they opened. This is the most friendly and caring practice! We love Reena! She has taken the time to get to know me and my family. Reena obviously enjoys what she does, as she always greets us with a smile. The Dr's and staff make the most uncomfortable visits as comfortable as possible. They explain all procedures and insurance coverage thoroughly.

They literally got money from our insurance and double charged us. We called them several times since July 2018 to fix the problem but mostly we weren't even able to reach them we told that billing manager was on leave. However my husband got to talk to them and promised to be called back before New Year but here we are at Feb 2019 and still noone called us back

This place is amazing, amazing, amazing!! I love, love, love Dr. Rayek!!! He is the most down to earth chill doctor I have ever met.He is not only comforting, talented, good at his job, eases any anxiety, respectful but he is SOOO funny!! He ALWAYS makes me smile & that is a HUGE deal to me--very important!! I moved here from Hagerstown, MD not knowing anyone besides my husband and his family, so I had to start over in life. Finding a dentist was a huge issue for me, as a had a horrible experience back home and refused to go to the dentist until one of my teeth got so infected that I actually pulled it myself--I kid you not. It was chipped, so it was loose, so I just kept loosening it until I could rip it out. I finally found a dentist that I trusted back home then I got engaged and moved to NoVa! I had sucked my thumb up until I was 13 years old, so I needed braces bad!! Dr. Rayek ran a Groupon for Invisalign and I thought there was no way I'd qualify for this and I did!!! I've been a patient of Dr. Rayek and the team at Smiles (as has my spouse and now my daughter) for eight years or so. They provide really excellent care. They are professional and friendly in manner, keen to address needed treatment and flexible in how to get that done. They are flexible, willing to work around my travel schedule to do so. The prices are quite reasonable for the level of service they provide. And, they have always worked to get the most from my dental coverage. I recommend them highly!
Regular teeth cleaning with Apneet. She is great at explaining what she s doing and she kept me pain free while removing the tartar build up.

I felt like it meant a lot for her to educate me on my overall dental health awareness. Very positive visit this past summer - definitely recommend it to anyone.
I was terrified to go back to the dentist after not going for a while, who likes to go though right? I'm so glad that I did and that Katie introduced the company to me because it was a great experience. Everybody was so nice and welcoming the Hygienist made me laugh the whole time and I'm actually looking forward to going back to get where I need to be with my smile. Doctor Rayek, Heather the hygienist and all the office staff are extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I have been a patient of Dr. Rayek since 2013, his work quality is beyond impressive. I highly recommend Smiles at Fairfax Corner and I wish I could give more than five stars.

The most amazing dental office ever! The staff are so friendly and helpful. The Hygienists are the gentlest I have ever encountered. The dental assistants are all so pleasant and gentle. And the office staff are ALWAYS smiling!
