Great product ,I have been using it for my tax clients for more than two years ,very easy ,accessible ,secured and saving commute for my clients and me specially during this challenging time .No need for clients to meet me at office ,they can easily upload and download tax documents . I can storge all docs even w/o keep hard copies . If not necessary . Make a life easier .

Just wanted to update and correct my review within a few hours of its first posting. Today was my first contact with SV since the end of last tax season in Oct. 2019. Wanted to get some help for downloading the SV software on my brand new laptop. Left a phone message for call back at 11 am but nobody from SV called back until 2 PM. Went to chat and saw my number at 7 and after half an hour wait, got terrible customer service.
It used to be occasionally bad but now it is always. May be on the coattail of Pro Series they have many new customers and now SV does not care about old customers.
This is CPA Raj from Long Island, NY. Started using Smart Vault (SV) from last year for 2019 tax returns and was extremely pleased to see the benefit of using the same not just for my office but also for my clients. SV's tie up and its compatibility with Pro Series Professional and compliance fulfilment for client's safety are icing on the cake. I have recommended SV to my other peers.
Not only Smart Vault has made my job easier, but it gives me a peace of mind knowing that my documents are secured. I can store as many files as I would like to. It is very user friendly. Overall a great system!!! I truly recommend this!
We have used SmartVault for the tax prep side of our business for a few years. We joined because of the security and ease of use for our clients. We stayed because it is easy for us to get documents signed with KBA and lock to payment - no more A/R for us!
Great customer service actually answers phones. Product is very secure and functional. User friendly for clients. Integrates with software well.
First year using this. Overall the software is pretty great. There are some minor things that could be improved but pretty exceptional for the most part. That being said, the onboarding process and support are lacking. There's just a very heavy push to go to the website and learn everything there. I've had to call in a couple of times and I have not been too impressed with the assistance or knowledge level. I think they're working some kinks out still so I'm being patient.
A great tool to send or receive information of clients in a secure way. The clients loved it.
We have been using SmartVault for a little over 1 year. We have 1,000 clients (businesses and individuals) and integrate with UltraTax. This program has been a huge help with time and organization management. The customer service is also fast and efficient. This also helps with privacy and security measures. We highly recommend for your accounting practice.
Been using SmartVault since 2014 to securely store and share documents with clients that contains personal data. It has been very helpful and allowed us to stay open for business during the pandemic. Plus it is integrated with our Fujitsu scanners. I highly recommend this product.

I have been a SmartVault user for about 5 years. I have it connected to my ProSeries tax software and information flows easily from the tax software to SmartVault. When I print a return to SmartVault, it automatically creates a folder for that client. It is very user friendly and I highly recommend it.

SmartVault is a great portal for tax preparers. The portal works seamlessly with DocuSign to store client tax documents, tax returns and provides clients with the ability to sign off on their tax returns. It also accepts tax return printouts directly from tax software.
It is easy to organize client files and to give permissions for specific folder so clients can access and download.
I highly recommend using SmartVault to organize tax documents, tax returns and correspondence and permanent files to keep in a secure manner. In addition, they allow for employees to work with the tax return preparer for a reasonable fee. I also feel very secure using their portal even with the increased security requirements from the IRS.

I have been a very satisfied SmartVault user since it was introduced as an add-on service to ProSeries in 2015. Along with its predecessor document management system I now have 10+ years of client documents instantly available at my fingertips.
The conversion to a paperless office has benefitted my practice in so many ways. Gone are the paper files, looking high & low for misplaced documents, making copies and physically storing client source documents and so much more.
My clients love the 24/7 access to their documents and having prior years their income tax documents readily available. No need to contact me when they are buying a home, refinancing a mortgage or any related financial transaction.
By far the biggest, and most unforeseen benefit was last March when Covid-19 shut my office down. Within 24 hours we were up and running remotely and fully functional servicing our clients and ready to assist with SBA disaster aid immediately when it became available. We completed a successful tax season last year on time and without interruption. This could never have been accomplished had all our data not been cloud based and accessible from anywhere thanks to SmartVault. Unbeknownst to me I had an incredible disaster recovery plan in the wings and ready to use. It is unfortunate it took a horrible pandemic to bring it into focus.

Great product, incorporates my file storage with portal. It significantly reduced my file handling. This is critical, since I am a paperless CPA office.
I like the ability to scan directly from the app and auto link to my docusign and docusign puts the signed copy back in my files on top of the original.

I've been with my company less than a year, but I have used SmartVault nearly everyday. It is great for holding our documents securely, while still allowing our customers to get access when they have need. The automatic updating process is a little cumbersome. The process to give and remove access to the files is a bit unwieldy, but I don't know what can be done about that. The bottom line is SmartVault works.

I use SmartVault for my small business and find it suits me fine. Would recommend.
The program holds many accounts and documents. The speed is slow to get a transaction to process. Names beginning with L to Z takes a minute or more to be accessible. Once a new folder is added, it takes several minutes to set it up. The process is simple, but the response speed is very slow. It is very time consuming.
We use SmartVault for our internal filing system, along with a filing system to share with our clients. SmartVault has answered our firms prayers in finding a system that both supports our company internally along with a safe system to share information with our clients. We have always had great customer service when talking with anyone who works for SmartVault from the sales team, to the IT Help. Definitely very satisficed with our decision on using SmartVault!
We've been using SmartVault for a few years now with our clinic and we've been loving it! It's easy to navigate and it's been such a great help to manage our documents. Their customer service is also very quick to help!
I've been using SmartVault for about a year and a half and have overall been very impressed. My only complaint is that the user interface on the online portal isn't always intuitive (at least to me). However, I like being able to print to pdf directly to SmartVault, I like being able to have clients upload and download files securely, and I like that I can customize access levels and notifications for each client individually. The more I've used it the better I've gotten at it and the more I like it so I guess there's just a bit of a learning curve to it.
I have been using SmartVault since late 2014 for Tax Season 2015. They were integrated with ProSeries and had a personal phone session to set up. They had my logo and other information in there and I was up and running. It has been a huge time saver to have client upload their documents vs sending them in. A few years later they added the DocuSign to the Vault.
Fast forward to March 2020 - I believe I was able to pivot faster and get through tax season better than the firms that did not have a client portal.
Over the years - clients know where to go in their vault when they need a copy of their return or a W-2 for a mortgage or other reasons.
My clients information is secure and they are comfortable with the easy to use system. NOTE - I am a solo CPA so I can not speak to how a larger firm would set up the levels of access for staff. It does appear to have that capability in the system.

We learned of SmartVault through a colleague whose CPA was using it. What a great discovery! For several years we have wanted a way to store and share files with our client churches. SmartVault does that and more. During the demo we learned that not only could this be done to make it more secure for our clients, SmartVault interfaces with QuickBooks and Right Networks making the saving of reports so much more efficient and faster.
And then there is the SmartVault support. They are quite responsive and always helpful. When the issue cannot be resolved by email, they schedule phone calls to get to the bottom of the issue.
Our client churches have embraced it and really like having easy access to their files. All in all, we could not be more pleased. SmartVault is exactly what we needed to take our business to a higher and more professional level.

Smartvault has been a great addition to our business. It was easy to sign up and integrate into daily workflow. Customers love the ability to share files securely without the burden of multiple emails or .zip files.
I have used SmartVault since 2016 and find it to be a good tool for my office and my clients. Although, I have found using SmartVault's Resource Help and Support has been not easy and quite frustrating. I have tried chat, email and calling by phone recently and while it says I would receive a response within 48 hours, it has been well over a week and I still have an unresolved issue. As an active business owner, spending this many hours resolving an issue is not okay.
When I emailed, the reply did not answer my question, but gave a patent answer like you would receive on 'chat'. I've made several attempts to call, but have waited close to an hour, before selecting the call back option. Out of 3 requests to be called back, I only received one and they called back over the weekend when my office is closed.
If SmartVault could resolve their handling of requests within the said 48 hours, I could give a better review.

I have been a customer for a few years now. I like how they keep clients' data secure and how it functions as a portal and an organization software for the information. Integration with Docusign is great as well. It is also nice how I get to customize the look of my firm.
As a CPA, finding software that works and does what it says it will do, providing great customer support at a great price is always a challenge. SmartVault meets all these requirement and then some. I've been a SmartVault customer over 10 years. It never disappoints. SmartVault keeps my client data secure. In this day and age a huge requirement for my office and this profession. It attaches documents to transactions allowing me to quickly retrieve what I need - even from my phone. My clients can access their data when they need it knowing it is safe. Something they really value. My practice is so far ahead of the curve because of this software. Be a "ProActive" accountant versus a "Reactive" accountant by putting SmartVault in your toolbox.
SmartVault is easy to use. Great document organization. Integrates directly with ProSeries and Lacerte to print returns and send password protected files. It's an excellent product; however, their customer service is slow to respond and doesn't always resolve my issues.

We have been using SmartVault for almost a year now. Working from home made it necessary for us to start using a program like this. We are able to share files securely and keep all of each of our customers' documents in one place and handy at all times. It honestly is made more for tax related businesses, but it has helped in our situation, as well. The customer service is at times really good, but at other times lacking. It's hit or miss, unfortunately. I do recommend it, though, especially if you have to send secure files back and forth to your customers or clients.
