Rooms were large, clean and the mattress very comfortable
Large, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Great location.
Wonderful comfy beds, clean, beautiful. Very helpful staff
I absolutely loved this hotel, I stayed at plenty of hotels, this one by far was the BEST, better than the Palmer House but hey that's my opinion!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SILVERSMITH HOTEL
Room was spacious and clean. Our requests for utensils and a fresh set of towels were quickly addressed. However the room did not come with a microwave and all the microwaves had been rented out by then. The printer in the computer area did not work.
Espresso is not very good. Espresso drinks were very watery.
Horrible service! I ve arrived at 12:30 and there wasnt any bedroom available, at this time, disnt see any problem, its policy that only after 3pm they have to have a room but they offered a fee of 25 dollars to get the room before 2pm. I said no and went for lunch. I ve returned at 3 pm and for my surprise, no bedroom available. Asked to wait and i m waiting for almost 1 hour to have a room available for me. What would happen if i asked for the bedroom before 2pm and paid the 25 dollars? And I m not the only one, have another 4/5 people all waiting for a bedroom
Great location. Amenities... nice stay! Great interior. Lush find! Luxe! made our visit the best. All staff attentive!
Great hotel! Beautiful rooms. Convenient to a lot of attractions and dining options.
It's accessible and quite affordable. Staff is polite and very nice. IT guys are also very helpful
We did a 1 night stay at the Silversmith and it hit the spot. The location is awesome, the room was clean, the staff was nice and the hotel had everything we needed. It was also super affordable. We didn't eat at the hotel or try room service or any of the other amenities, but for our purposes it was on point.
Chic rooms. Comfortable bed. Free Wi-Fi & bottled water. Great location & friendly staff. Only complaint was finding hairs in the bathtub.
Nice hotel rooms are very nice, large bathrooms. Front desk was very nice and helpful
Cute hotel very clean and nicely decorated. Friendly staff in the heart of downtown Chicago
Let me begin with the positives:
Excellent location. Couple of minutes walk to best restaurants, attractions, bars, train station etc
Super courteous front desk
They give you Molton brown toiletries!
Most rooms have a suite style layout with living room and a bedroom with two TVs. Some of the rooms have no desk to work though.
Negatives:
Some rooms have serious noise from the train going right next to the hotel.
No proper restaurant inside hotel. You got to get out for proper food. Which is easy but miss just eating casually going down in PJs... Sometimes.
Quality of hotel infrastructure wasn't satisfactory. The gym has only cardio and dumbbells and one bench. I was we expecting more after paying over 250 per night.
The bathroom door could not be locked! It won't matter for couples and lone travellers...
They missed cleaning up the room and replenish coffee, cups etc.
The shower isn't powerful enough. No tubs to soak
Even after advising that an important courier was expected at a certain time, it was not recieved!!
Overall, I feel you can get way better hotels in similiar price point around downtown. Only compromise will be $10 cab ride to most places.
Pretty central area. Clean rooms. Good service. Would stay again
Staff was helpful, friendly and very patient. Accommodations were wonderful! We will plan to stay at the silversmith next time we visit Chicago.
FANTASTIC hotel - our new fav place!!! The staff is amazing and the rooms are huge. We had a great stay and will be back soon, Thank you all!
Booked this hotel for our Chicago/Hamilton weekend. First if you are going to see Hamilton it is within walking distance. A block from Millennium Park. This little hotel is actually a great location
Enjoyed our stay here a lot. The hotel is updated and very nice. Rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. Great location close to the Art Institute of Chicago and Millennium Park and the bean, within walking distance and also close to the train. The staff here was great. Very attentive and helpful. The restaurant and the bar area looked nice but we didn't have the opportunity to visit either one.
Great hotel, great service and a great bar. But the WiFi cuts in and out. I work out with a streaming P90x video and my stay at this hotel killed my workout.
I vote 5 star plus. Highly recommend. Ramiro Rodriguez
Free Wi-Fi, close to everything, great room- very clean and linens were top notch. Comfortable bed.
Clean and comfy place in an excellent location.
Walking distance from millennium Park, magnificent mile, major retailers.
Multiple food outlets in the vicinity.
Ideal for a short touristy visit!
We had a beautiful large room, friendly staff and a super location. I would definitely stay here again.
Rooms are dark. The building looks old. Toilet was not clean. A lot of dust on the lamps. Location is great. It s In the downtown, close to restaurants and parks. I m disappointed with old dark grey walls and not clean toilet bowl.
Staff was very informative, pleasant and professional
We stayed at this hotel for five nights on a business trip. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the staff with a beautiful smile. The room is well decorated, well organized, and clean. The bathroom is really big and beautiful(I can live there) and the service staff is very friendly. We will definitely come back again!
Very beautiful hotel, very clean. Staff was amazing and very kind. Rene the bartender is the best!!
Great decor and good value. Pretty bar and restaurant and pretty quiet place overall. Good food options next door as well.
Friendly staff, great room! If I come back to Chicago I'll definitely stay here again.
The entire staff was so helpful and professional. They made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. Nothing we needed was to big or to small that they wouldn't take care of. The room was immaculate and comfortable. We were in Chicago in November 2014.
Great modern decor! Our room was smaller than I like. Nice sized bathroom though.
The hotel is very well located, about 200m from Millennium Park, and 20 meters from the air loop (5 lines). The staff are welcoming and helpful. The hotel is clean and the rooms comfortable. I recommend.
I stayed at silversmith for a weekend summer 2014. I love the location and employees were friendly. I was worried about L train being too loud but it wasn't an issue.
We travel to Chicago regularly and like to try different hotels. Great place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Pretty nice hotel with a spacious room with 2 televisions. Front desk staff were a little abrupt when we first arrived - too early to check-in.
Overall a pleasant couple of nights.
Great location for access to subway/loop trains, shopping and restaurants. Modern clean rooms, very comfortable beds and linens, and great service from from friendly staff.
A5 stars all the way to this hotel! I was not mistaken about choosing this place to relax. Their people were very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. All of my requests were done on time without any hidden charges. A great music selection and delicious foods. Cheers to more customers in the future.
Quality service and upkeep. Definitely worth staying here!
I have stayed here twice in the past 8 months. Both times have really been impressed. Very clean. Very good sized rooms for a downtown Chicago hotel. Modern recently updated decor. Above all else, the staff works very hard to please. During both of my visits, their friendliness and eagerness to fix any issue I had was impressive.
Excellent. Room was clean and comfortable, service was impeccable.
Very nice hotel with exceptional staff. Easy to get to location. Walkable to many stores and restaurants and the L.
Very clean and spacious. Awesome location. Just be careful walking around this place at night.
The Silversmith Hotel provided a lovely stay for Christmas for my family and I. Located in Downtown Chicago, only a block away from Millenium Park we couldnt ask for more. The staff waa courteous and provided a great recomendation for dinner at the State & Lake Tavern. 10/10 would stay again.
Close to everything, friendly service, beautiful rooms that are very comfortable! I will be coming back next year!
This hotel was above and beyond what we expected. Tucked in to the Jewel District of Chicago, it was close to everything we wanted to visit. The bed was also super comfortable and the room felt like a living space while we were away. Staff was also very friendly.
Fun, swanky place to stay when visiting the windy city.
Friendly, convenient, comfortable and affordable accommodations.
The hotel may be great. The food is absolutely horrible. DO NOT EAT AT THE RESTAURANT. RUN!!!
Hotel in a great location, neat, spacious rooms, as well as a bathroom.
Wonderful service with very nice staff, clean rooms, great comfort. Perfect location right in the Chicago loop.
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary this weekend in Chicago and we stayed at the Silversmith Hotel. We loved it!!! The decor of the hotel was classy and sophisticated, yet the rate was very reasonable. The customer service was top-notch, especially in the bar/restaurant area...there was one person working and he was on top of everything. Would definitely recommend this place, it was at the top of my list of best hotels.
Great hotel with amazing prices. Staff was very friendly!!
The Hotel was absolutely beautiful and the staff was quite friendly!
Hidden fees. No printed bill. Had to call repeatedly to get one. What are they hiding? Oh yeah, the 'destination fee'.
Bar is very slow and short pours.
The rooms are very spacious, modern and clean and the beds are very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower leaves a lot to be desired which, in my opinion, is one of the most important features of a hotel room. The staff have all been very friendly and helpful.
Delightful boutique hotel in the heart of the Chicago loop
This hotel is quite nice with a lot of space and two televisions. Great service at the front desk. I stayed here with my wife who had it for work. I think they cater to corporate clients and search. Very nice bar but nobody there usually.
This place had the absolute nicest people working every shift. The man working the front desk at midnight on Friday, 9/22 was so helpful and delightful!
It's a beautiful hotel. We didn't spend much time here other than for sleeping. Quiet room and comfortable bed. The hotel offers car valet service, but there are garages just two blocks down the street.
Very friendly customer service. Rooms were clean and included everything you needed including a mini fridge. Location is in the heart of downtown Chicago just one block off Michigan Ave.
It is a nice hotel. A little smaller room than most. Staff was great! Safe and fridge. We stayed in at night but you cant rent basic movies on tv. Bathrooms seemed a little bigger than most. No views in our room and hotel was very quiet. Great location downtown with multiple places to eat withe a block or two. They have a restaurant attached but did not eat there.
Nice intimate place, the bar had a nice atmosphere, I attended a small meet up.
Very clean hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back!
First off,
I never write reviews on place good or bad. This place's service and friendly staff was so good to us that I felt necessary to share it with everyone.
My now fiance and I went up there for a getaway weekend. I called the hotel and asked if there is anything special they can do for the room because I was going to propose that night. They sent up a bottle of champaign and chocolate covered strawberrys neatly placed on the dresser. There was also a welcom card with a hand written not to my fiance saying complementary drink "captain and coke" at our bar. I told them over the phone that is all she drinks.
After she said yes we got back down to the lobby and the two ladies were smiling knowing the good news. Walked outside where the staff helped hale a taxi and off to dinner we went. After dinner and a few bar hoping we got back to the hotlel and missed last call. The bartender made a exception for us and bought the drinks himself.
If you are looking to stay in Chicago I highly recoment this place. Rooms are nice and clean, bed is very comfy. The hotel is classy looking all around. The restuarant breakfast was good and reasobable.
Our room seemed clean and staff was very pleasant and caring. I found $2 underneath the couch cushion so that shows the extent the room is cleaned. Unfortunately, the entry to the hotel smelled like a sewer and the entire hotel seemed to have an odor, but our room was nice and that's what matters.
Clean, comfortable rooms. Most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on (YMMV). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good location to nearby boutiques and restaurants. Best hotel off of the Mile that I've stayed at.
look.. myself and my girl friend have stayed at the silversmith hotel when we come to chitwn and we wont stay anywhere else its beautiful and the hotel personal are fabulously welcoming and as a matter of fact we will arrive fri aug 7th for an overnight stay so look out here we come silversmith folks we love your place tony and krystal..
Large space at the restaurant/bar. Able to support a 100+ person social event.
Website shows available rooms but proceed to check out and there s none, customer service was no help clarifying
I loved this place!! front desk girls were so nice and the valets were very nice and helpful!! I loved the room, it was beautiful, clean and quiet. I would gladly come back when we return to Chicago!!
Great service and really nice rooms. Close to everything :)
The lights were pretty cool, and I don't say that lightly.
Stopped in to the Silversmith for drinks after work. Beautiful, modern space with a neat circular bar. Back area has comfortable couches that work perfectly for groups of 5 to 6. Only knock on the experience is the service is a bit slow even when the place doesn't appear to be that busy. Still would go back for drinks, just not when I'm in a hurry.
Charges a $15 "destination fee," which is mentioned on the website, but not disclosed as being mandatory until you are at the counter and they've already taken your credit card for incidentals.
Not a good experience with this hotel. We weren't greeted by the front desk. The room was dirty.
Great detail to service, clean room, very pleasant overall experience.
