The staff was friendly, the location is wonderful, and the hotel looks beautiful inside. There are plenty of nice quick places to eat nearby and within walking distance to a lot of major attractions. (Stop by the Goddess and the Baker for breakfast! Nandos was amazing for lunch!)

Heads up though: there was a $15/day "destination fee" that we were not aware of ahead of time which is a mandatory charge.

My two colleagues and I stay at the Silversmith whenever we come to Chicago. I just left after a ten day stay. The staff is unfailingly attentive and courteous. The doormen are the best!

My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer some type of rewards program for loyal customers.

The rooms are nice and full of accommodations. We're talking a fridge, a safe, the simplest a/c. Things have been real quiet especially considering that it's so close to the El railway. People are cool behind the desk. I saw someone withhold a star because the people at the check in desk didn't wave to them everytime they came and went. I get it, but the desk isn't that close to the elevator that it required that level of acknowledgement so frequently. The location is good. Its safe and has so many places to eat. It's also a small block or two away from the best and cheapest parking in the area. It's also close to many hotels like the wit, and some other places.

Quite nice. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Some street/city noise but earplugs took care of that. No breakfast included. Great location for Loop/downtown activities. Price was reasonable.

15$ resort fee. Seriously? For water and coffee? The bar was horrible with "bar tenders" who were clueless in making drinks and simple tasks like giving you water. When we came back for the night, no room service was done. When we called the front desk, they thought it was the hotels policy for multi-night guests to not receive room service. What? Never heard about that before? A downtown hotel without room service? Come on!!! Please do not stay here. Do not give them the satisfaction of your business. They are horrible. On the plus side, the room was inexplicably clean and the common areas were nice and modern. But this hotel and thier service is bizarre and bad.

Guest services were very friendly. Received new towels every day. The AC worked very well. The only down sides is that the light bulb in our room was out. Informed the front desk, but it wasn't changed. While watching television; sometimes it would lose connection.

SilverSmith was a great find! Super clean and spacious rooms, love the decor. Everyone was tremendously friendly and thoughtful. The beds we're really comfy and space just well designed in general. The location (close to food and quick jaunt over to millennium Park) was perfect. I would definitely stay here again!

Great downtown hotel. Easy 2 blocks to Art Institute. Near many good restaurants. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Even while limited by Covid rules, they still strived to meet all of our every requests and needs. Have stayed here twice and will stay here the next time we are in Chicago.

An exceptional hotel in the heart of the loop, with easy, walkable access to the L, Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park, and dozens of other popular attractions. You are greeted with a smile by the friendly doormen and enter the stunning lobby. The rooms are spacious and in perfect condition - I especially like the high ceilings... even the hallways are spacious, especially by city-hotel standards. The rooms feature fridges instead of minibars, and room service from the restaurant/lounge "Adamus" is very affordable. I highly recommend this hotel!

Loved my stay here. I've been away from home on business for weeks and this was my last stop before finally going home. Everything in this place is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is exquisite and beyond accommodating. I travel all the time and I cannot recall the last time I was so impressed with a hotel. Would recommend this place to anyone willing to listen! Thank you for an incredible stay!

This hotel was awesome. I checked in early, and the woman at the hotel desk was upfront with me and told me I could get a room immediately and be on the rail level or wait until official checkin time and get a room above the train noise. I took the room available immediately and I could hear the train but it wasn't too bad. I appreciate her being upfront about the noise level! Also the amenities are awesome! Free water and an exfoliator cloth in the shower.

Very conveniently situated in the heart of Chicago. Only stayed one night for a short business trip, but great experience. A lively bar in the evening, large king suite rooms. Everything was immaculately clean. The concierge was incredibly helpful, allowing me an extremely early check in as I arrived to the hotel at 8:30am. And accommodating my schedule with access to a secluded women's lounge on the mezzanine where I could change and get ready for the day's meetings.

We had a lot of street noise and woke up with dry sinuses because there is no humidifier in the room. Apparently if you ask for a room with a humidifier you can get one but that is a pretty strange thing to think about when booking a hotel room. The room was large the bed was a little rough.

A really good layout with a modern feel all around. Accommodations and staff are really helpful for things to do and places to go. We really enjoyed staying here, a diamond in the rough that is hidden from the standard hotels. A great find!

Room is nice and clean. Housekeeping is not up to expectations. They did not replace basic toiletries like hand soap etc which are small little things but annoying. Housekeeping gets an F. Everything else gets A+

Excellent place to stay! The staff is friendly and helpful, it's like a 2 minute walk from the private bank theater, there's a CVS right across the street, and the magnificent mile is just a quick 8-9 minute drive or bus ride away! There's not many attractions within walking distance of this place, but there's a lot of shopping, theater, and dining. The only problem I had is that our room was listed as "a room with a view." The view? Another building and an alley way. That's only a small problem though because I spent hardly any time looking out my window.

Hard to spot from the street. Rooms were decent, but no view. Checkin was easy and overall it's a nice place to stay. Parking and valet too expensive. Self parking ramp around the corner much cheaper.

I ve stayed at a variety of hotels in downtown Chicago, and this is one of my new favorites! It s not part of a national chain, and they have kind of a high-quality uniqueness. Plus the price is much better than the chain hotels. Location is just south of the river in the theater district. Easy to get to anywhere downtown in a short Lyft ride.

If you d be bothered by the El train sounds, be aware that it s right outside the windows. I didn t mind though it adds to the ambience, in my opinion.

My husband and I visited Chicago for the AHR Expo, and we had the privilege to stay here. The entire staff was so very polite and helpful. The staff member that stood out the most to us was Johnie at the front doors, he carried our things to our room, and showed us around the room. (I think that was his name). That was our first visit to Chicago, and we loved it. The location of the hotel was great, and close to everything. Thank you for such a great stay, Silversmith!

A historic boutique hotel in the downtown area that is near several landmarks. Off street parking is within walking distance. Several good restaurants are just outside their front door. I had a PURE king room on the 8th floor. Not much of a view, but it was very clean and had Moulton Brown bath products. Nice sized bathroom with standing shower and large sink. Room had a desk to work at, which was properly wired for a laptop. The bedside tables also have outlets for you to charge your various devices with. Only thing I did not like with the resort fee type charge for items I didn't use.

Definitely trying to be hip. But the building seems like it was recently renovated, everything is very clean, the rooms and bathrooms are large, the bed is comfy. For the price, it doesn't get any better. Definitely recommend to anybody visiting Chicago.

The hotel is lovely, the rooms are very large and clean. Many reviews state their disappointment with the $20/night resort fee but with it and the lowered hotel prices it is still less expensive then other comparable hotels in the area.

The staff was very friendly and advised me of all the amenities. The only odd item was there's no minibar/snacks in the room which I'm use to. The room I had was quiet and I couldn't hear any noise from the adjacent rooms, that with the comfort of rhe bed made the night relaxing and easy to go to sleep.

Service service and more excellent service. The food is good Josie does an absolutely Splendid job behind the bar. The front desk staff and the door staff are also excellent basically customer service at this hotel is just plain awesome. I will most definitely stay there again. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the construction in front and the lack of any really Stellar Chicago scenery from your room. The food is also pretty good I definitely recommend the sliders

Location was central to a lot of attractions in Chicago and walking distance to the lake. The room had high ceilings, a mini fridge, a nice bright bathroom, a coffee maker and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The room unfortunately smelled of cigarettes, but I'm not as picky as most. Service was excellent, as there were times when we needed utensils, a change of towels, and a microwave. The only request they couldn't meet was the microwave request, which was a bummer and ultimately led to us disposing of otherwise perfectly good leftovers.

The staff makes the hotel!!! Its clean, updated, conveniently located to everything. We were greeted everytime we came back from an outing. (I have stayed in numerous hotels in NYC where the staff ignores you) Not in Chicago! The woman who checked us in gave us good tips on taking the bus, what the must see things are...I'm very impressed and cant say enough good things about our stay
