The room we were in was a little awkwardly set up. You have to request ice to the room there is no ice machine. I thought it was very convenient up until we had to actually use the service. It took almost 45 mins for a tiny bag of ice haha. The hotel can be a little difficult to get to with construction closures due to the city. The decor though was fantastic I would definitely recommend.

My family and I spent two nights at this beautiful hotel over a break. We had two gorgeous rooms overlooking the outdoor pool. The hotel is amazing for they have complete room facilities and the scent inside was very relaxing and comfortable. For me, it was special rooms with superb bathrooms' design. They also have great service, and good food. Must visit! For sure you'll love it!

My wife and I spent the weekend in Chicago to catch a cubs game and stayed at the Silversmith for the first time. What a great experience. Staff was helpful and friendly, our room was spacious and quiet, and our bed/comforter/pillows were awesome. Our room had a fridge, but no microwave. We called the front desk to inquire so we could heat up some leftover pizza, and one was delivered in a few minutes. It's in a great location close to shopping/eating/parks/public transit. We will definitely be making this our first Hotel choice for our next trip to Chicago.

I have stayed at the Silversmith hotel multiple times on my trips to Chicago. The staff is always friendly and rooms are always clean. The location of the hotel allows for easy access to the parks, magnificent mile and other downtown locations. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay.

Such wonderful staff. They took care of us so well. We got there early and they stored our bags. We needed extra coffee and towels - they sent some up ASAP. The rooms and cleanliness were amazing too :)

Went to the bar for happy hour drinks and food after work. The drinks were a great deal, although the food was still pricey even on special. Favorite part about this place was that we had plenty of space for our group to sit and the music wasn't too loud. We'll come back!

First, the important things: Beds were great, showers pretty good (I like a bit more water pressure, but OK), and every staff person we met was excellent, friendly and helpful.
Location is perfect. We flew into Midway and there is an Orange Line stop one block away from this hotel. You can walk to just about everything.
They have a daily resort fee. It was fully explained to us at check in. We felt the fee was not outrageous and staff helpfulness and services offered were worth the price.
We were on the 8th floor, not facing the street, so train noise was less than the HVAC, which was not much at all. You may have a different experience in a different room, but we had peaceful quiet.
Wish List? Real coffee cups. I understand why they only have paper cups, but as a coffee person, I prefer a real cup. They have Keurig machines in the rooms and tiny cups, so if coffee is your thing, as it is mine, you may want to bring extra k-cups.

All the good things you read regarding location, comfort etc. are true..... add to that an amazingly friendly staff and my sister's annual getaway (SAGA) couldn't have selected a better place to hang out for the weekend! A special shout out to Beverly!

Have only been in the bar, it was very nice. Prices were reasonable and the mixologists were smart funny and eager to talk to customers, if the customer so desires. My ordered a Ruby and Sapphire, not a common drink. They did not know how to make it, but had the one critical ingredient to make it, Pama liquor. They gladly listen to instructions on how to make it, and did an excellent job. We will be back.

The hotel was really nice. Staff was VERY friendly and accommodating. Very close to everything including the "L," that will get you anywhere else you want to go. Only downside is that you have to request ice-no self serve machines-and no vending machines. I don't care who you are, everyone wants/needs snacks at some point and doesn't want to have to leave the comfort of the hotel. They do have room service though and lots of stores and restaurants VERY close and within walking distance. Some places deliver and late into the night also. Loved that they cleaned our room daily and didn't request that we reuse everything to "conserve energy." Will definitely stay there next time I'm in Chicago.

I went to the Silversmith Hotel for a few days on vacation to see Hamilton. The location and building itself was perfect for that, within walking distance of most things I wanted to see. The lobby was beautiful, and the staff helpful and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. Keycards are required not only for your room but the elevators as well, so security is good. The room we stayed in was clean and beautiful, with high ceilings, plenty of space, and comfortable beds. My only complaint is that the included parking was a bit expensive, and it was impossible to access my car without having to send someone to go get it for me. All in all, a fantastic hotel and area. I'd definitely recommend it.

Pleasant stay in central location. Hotel was quiet, clean and staff was approachable. Quick bites are not available in hotel but there are numerous shops and restaurants are close. Rooms have many different layouts, suite we stayed was a nice setup.

Fantastic downtown location inside the Loop, close an L station. Great, thoughtful, courteous service. Rooms are large, comfortable and luxuriously appointed (king-sized beds and really nice bath robes, for example). The thermostat in the room was easy to use and worked well too. Classy decor throughout added to the experience.
The breakfast was very good, as was the service in the restaurant.
The prices are very reasonable, even cheap relative to the location. I converted credit card travel points, but still the price was great.
The rise of independent, boutique hotels in Chicago has been a good thing for us travelers. I've stayed at 3 of them in the past year, and really enjoyed them, particularly this one.

I stayed at your hotel for 1 night. When I woke up in the morning I was called by valet saying my car had been broken into. When I asked if there were security or security cameras that work in the parking garage everyone dodged my questions. I appreciate that my window was fixed before I left town, but then again that's the least that should've been done. Your company was liable for my car, since I had used your valet. Before we left you guys said you would cover the cost of additional repairs to my car (my car's driver side window and whole side of my car has dents and scratches), however since arriving home your company and the valet company has decided to say you won't pay for the repairs since you aren't at fault. However, you guys are at fault. Where was the security when my car was vandalized? In the end, I would NEVER stay at your hotel again, I would NEVER recommend anyone staying there. I hope nothing like this ever has to happen to you. Sadly, after reading reviews of your hotel this sort of thing happens a lot, you should really think about hiring a new valet company, as well as additional security in the parking garage.

Good location one block from Millenium Park and the North Michigan Av. The hotel is luxurious, the room is spacious and comfortable, it has a large bathroom with a bathtub. The staff does not speak Spanish but is very friendly. It has a good restaurant called Adas on the ground floor. The downside is that the metro passes right in front and the noise is constant.

We stayed here for a weekend and had a great time. It's a good location in the heart of downtown. Close to shopping and some theatres and off the main subway line it was easy to walk everywhere. About 20 mins from North River.

The rooms was nice and modern. We got upgraded to a room with a couch area and a king sized bed. 2 tv's in basically the same room was excessive but not complaining.

We were on the 9th floor and didn't hear the trains.

Bathroom was nice and spacious with Molten Brown amenities.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Staff was warm and welcoming.

We booked 3 rooms and stayed for a week several years ago, and are looking forward to our next trip to the windy city. Maybe we won't make it mid-January next time - the wind & temperatures in downtown Chicago at that time of the year were quite extreme for we Australians.

The hotel, however, was great. Nice comfortable rooms which were well serviced, friendly & professional staff and the place is very nicely situated to shopping & transport.

My wife particularly liked being in the jewelry centre of downtown - is it Jewelry Row right next door? She managed to make her way around all of the stores despite the weather. Cost me a fortune!

We were on a tight budget on last trip, but maybe we can get an upgrade to a something a little special as "regulars" on our next visit over there.
