Lots of challenging runs on the back side. Long lineups everywhere we went on the hill though. Great place for a family that enjoys skiing but also likes tubing, skating, cross country, and fat tire bikes.

One of my favourite places to ski. A great variety of trails and difficulties. Staff are very friendly and keep the crowds at the chair lifts organized and moving quickly. A nice variety of places to eat as well. Do yourself a favour and get a POW Pass to save some money and make the most of this wonderful Mountain.

This 4 season resort is quaint and full of colour and character ... wonderful feeling of family like customer service...big enough to offer many experiences. Small enough to feel safe and treated like family.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The village is in the center so once you're there everything is a short walk. Plenty of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and stores. Kids favorite is the candy store... Go figure.
Large variety of downhill terrain from beginner at Siver Queen to expert on the back side at Putnam Creek.

It is an awesome Mountain biking destination. They have a good variety of trails with some difficult tech trails. A range of green to double black jump trails and a few trails that include the whole package. Silver stars jump trails have a lot of time put in to them so most of the jumps shoot you perfectly into the landing and they have super tall berms. The only thing that sucks is that all the trails meet at the bottom and is the worst 2 or 3 berms you will ever do. All in all an amazing Mountain biking destination

I'm a Whistler/Blackcomb regular. I live in Toronto and fly out annually for at least a week to get my fix (for the record, I have not skied in Ontario for 6 years). Stopped in to Silver Star a few years ago returning to Toronto on a business trip. I rate this place VERY highly.
The mountain is very nice. Not as big as WB of course but I'm an advanced skier and I can have lots of fun here for a 3 days. Frontside is decent with some very nice 2X black diamond chutes. The crown jewel is to hook up with locals and tour the back country - absolutely stellar! They're only missing the open bowls but otherwise can rival Symphony and Harmony Bowls (go to Big White for that). Don't go on your own unless you know the woods - I know a local who's SAR that got lost for 2 days...
The town is nice. Great food and a good vibe - very different from WB, I'd call it more cosy.
Highly recommend - i'm looking forward to checking out Big White next!

Poor Conditions Refund for your lift pass has been...

Poor Conditions Refund for your lift pass has been cancelled! Every mountain that I am aware of offers a refund if you do one run and find the conditions unfavorable. Silver Star management has decided to be the first to remove this great practice. I have no idea why? As a season pass holder I have used this policy as a lure for new people to the mountain for years. "come on out do a run if you don't like the conditions you can get your money back". Very seldom does anyone go for the refund and if they do they are still at the mountain spending money in the coffee shop, pub, shops etc.
Is the policy being abused? Are droves of people coming up for one run and then seeking a refund? The chair is running anyway so I only see this as a deter-ant for people who may have come up but are not interested in risking $90 when the conditions are a potentially poor. BAD MOVE SILVER STAR!!

As much as I want to say that my friends and I had an good trip, this was actually such a frustrating experience. Silver star itself had great snow to ski/board on; however, the Silver Star Resort hotels tainted our experience beyond comprehension. After we checked out, without any warning, the Silver Creek Lodge charged us with room damage for $700. The accommodations manager at Angeline had a terrible, unhelpful attitude when we consulted the hotel. Not only was she in any way not willing to help us sort through the issue, she pushed all the responsibility onto the other manager in the hotel, and basically denied anything we said with a flat, almost hostile, attitude.
We were pretty responsible guests; we even let the dish washing machine run when we checked out, and made sure all the garbage was cleaned up. It was a really disappointing experience and makes me never want to visit Silver Star again. If I could, I would give 0 star reviews, but I can't.
I'd highly recommend find somewhere else if you want to have a good time, and not feel like prisoners in jail waiting to be accused by staff.

Silver Star is a gem in so many ways. The winter season is good with consistent snow and good amenities. The skiing is not what I would refer to as epic, so riders of beginner to moderate skill level will have endless good times. The summer down hill biking season is always fantastic with a good variety of trails to suit all skill levels. Bugaboos bakery is an institution and must be visited if you go visit this fine resort!

Very helpful / friendly staff.
We had some issues with timing (created by ourselves) but the staff were very helpful / accommodating & we were able to have a really nice weekend. Julie (and I think the other woman's name was Anne?), you two rock. The bike park trails are pretty awesome also.

We can't even book a ticket online- limited tickets available, all sold out, only catering to credit card holders and the prices are outrageous to boot. I've also noticed in past years that mostly all employees are foreigners, so they're not supporting local employment either. (I know, I also applied one year with plenty of valuable qualifications and never even a call back). COVID or none, there should be some way for a local family to enjoy this on short notice, such as a number of first come first serve on site tickets sold every day. Shame on you Silverstar.

My wife and I travel up from the States every year for Thanksgiving week to get our first season ski fix. It is a magical place with fabulous X-country skiing. The Province's best Alpine skiing too. Ski village has excellent pubs, restaurants, and hotels and condos too. Vernon, BC Canada.

It's a good family resort with good terrain for beginner to intermediate skiers. Longjohn's and the Bulldog have pretty good food, but there's no guarantee they'll be opened or have what you enjoyed last time on the menu.

The biggest negative is the lack of advanced/expert terrain. Unless you want to ski moguls there's nothing. Even on a big powder day, which is rare, you're looking at a chairlift ride, a 10 minute traverse to get to a 30 second run, then a 10 minute traverse back to the chair. Where you'll wait 20-40 minutes if it's a powder day.

If you love groomers, it's a great spot. If you want to ride some terrain, make the hour trip to Revy.

Edit.. This is a winter review only. It is a fantastic bike park in the summer.
