I visited Silverstar the last week they were open, and that's also when I learned to ski. Even though the weather conditions weren't ideal, and alot of the snow had melted already, Silverstar still did a great job grooming the easy trails and I was able to get comfortable on my skis. The village has everything you need from clothing stores to candy, groceries/liquor and several restaurants. I really enjoyed my time At Silverstar and would love to visit again and progress on my skiing.
Took our dog for a walk. Trails were nice and well maintained.
Most amazing riding I've had! Prices are great, a bit expensive but definately worth it! Facilities and staff are awesomenes!!!!
Family skiing at it's best. Everything for everyone. Black to green and powder everywhere.
Wonderful snow, staff and park. Very happy we made the trip. Looking forward to the next time
I really enjoyed this resort, the weather was amazing the hills had snow! Small but worth checking out. It was also not packed which was awesome.
All the people that work there are always nice and helpful! Out of the past 10 years I've been going, I've only had one or two bad experiences, one of them being someone crashed into an electrical line halfway up so there was no power. Make sure you're there when they have the crepe truck because those are to die for!
Quaint hub for mountain adventures. Offers Nordic and Downhill skiing along with all sorts of other winter activities. Put it on the list.
As the West Coast gets more and more expensive, SilverStar is one of the last places a local Canadian can go to Ski. The snow and terrain are amazing, and the village is very cute.
Quaint village with so much to do -
Views are spectacular !
Small, but cozy village where you can find all you need. Best slopes for the beginers! They even (finally) building gondola to the top!
Pretty good mountain! Had a great time skiing Putnam all day. Would reccomend doognog first thing
Silverstar is always a fun weekend trip, winter or summer it's a beautiful resort with so many things to do.
Love the mix level of terrain! Wish we found deer park earlier on the trip!
Great skiing, friendly staff and free coffee for seniors. Great morning.
Breathtaking scenery. Top resort for almost endless romp in the snow with many offers and promotions !!!
Great mountain with good terrain and decent lift access. Lines are comfortably quick to get back up. Great Okanagan snow!
Super fun mountain. Powder Gulch is my favorite area. The village a super small but full of so many restaurants, hotels, bowling, etc.
We have been coming to Silver Star for some 20 years. It's a wonderful mountain for skiing, and even more, for building memories with your family and friends.
There are wonderful big houses for rent that will accommodate multiple families and condos and apartments for smaller groups. The village is well serviced with select shops, restaurants and a small grocery.
We love cooking our own meals at the end of the day, after a glass of wine and hot tub. Butcher Boy from Vernon delivers groceries and we've done this several times. Their produce, meats and bacon are amazing. Definitely worth it.
Totally worth the drive! Good food, good shopping and fun events!
Great place to mountain bike on the Downhill and X-C trails in the summer.
Best little bike park around - love visiting SilverStar BP
Great little ski village. Lots to do if you're not a skier. Free parking.
It a good place to go. Lots to do but very expensive. The cost of activities is very expensive for a family to have fun. But still a beautiful place
Great riding and convenient onsite camping. Nice little village as well
Might not be for night life seeking party people but excellent for families with young kids and teenagers. Variety of runs for different levels. World Class x-country skiing, best snow shoeing trails I've ever been to. Never too crowded-we've been there more than 10 different times-Christmas, family day, Spring break, ..etc. Excellent ski school program, magical skating pond, tube town, bowling. Can't say much about restaurants since we home cook most meals but 1906 and Bulldog supposed to be good. Great little shops. We live in Vancouver but prefer coming here than going to Whistler.
Fabulous resort and great experience on the evening snowshoe trek to the cabin for dinner.
The guides were very professional and very knowledgable about Silverstar, as well they informed us of all the possibilities the resort has to offer.
The food at the cabin however was very disappointing for the price and they ran out of food. Sled ride back was wonderful as well. The whole event was worth it except the dinner which would make it so we will not do this event again nor recommend it.
Visited Silver Star to ride the XC bike trails. Staff was present upon entering the village to greet and give directions/info. Tickets for XC biking can be purchased quickly atthe self serve kiosk which was nice.
Loved hiking here! Great views and easy to get to. Only 25 mins out of Vernon.
Great downhill skiing, has hills for all levels of skiers.
Too many flat runs. The signs are terrible. It's so hard to find the runs you wanna go. Caution everywhere and you don't even know what it's for. It's a good mountain if you are a beginner.
The bulldog has great food and the skiing was great
Don't book a morning lesson planning to extend, they close the lessons an hour before they start and you won't be done with the morning in time to get back to the office to extend. They accidentally booked me morning only then I was stuck trying to teach myself while I waited for my son's lesson to finish and my husband was off running black diamonds. They also don't tell you to be at least 45 min to an hour early if you are getting rentals for your lesson, they said be there by 9:15 to get rentals for a 9:30 lesson so I missed 20 minutes of the $200 lesson I paid for. Very disorganized and no way to help accommodate customers when it's their error. Runs are well groomed and powder is sublime. Also impossible to get to the silver queen lift with an inexperienced parent and child from where the rentals and ski school are. The food in the Den is excellent and the prices are reasonable for a ski hill.
Best ski experience in Canada so far.
Really good staff all over the resort from the bars, restaurants, cafes and rental shops.
Snow is fantastic here in the interior much better than whistler.
Medium sized resort, good value and loads of different terrain.
Can't wait to return next year for longer.
An amazing place to spend time with family and friends. Tons to do for all ages. Rental costs are affordable but would be nice to see competitive pricing on lift passes.
Amazing skiing but not the greatest kids lesson programs.
I walked around in the fall. Everything was closed, but the resort was clean and beautiful.
Compared to other BC mountains the terrain is sub par. There are way too many flat areas and the steep runs are short.
Love the night time sledding with friends and family.
Great hill with lots of green and blue runs for beginners, as well as a lot to offer for advanced/intermediate skiers/snowboarders. Also has tube town for some intense snow tubing, an ice rink, and miniature snowmobiles for kids. A few restaurants and accommodations as well. $15 pass and another $15 for equipment rental on Friday nights - very reasonable.
Nice place, short on options but beutiful for a one day ski
Silver Star is my favourite mountain. The conditions are always better than the other mtns in the Okanagan, there's all types of terrain for all skill levels, and the staff are great (especially lift operations)
Great place to ski, reliable all-round resort only 20 minutes from Vernon.
It's a dream here! So much to do, and so much beauty to be seen during the winter months!
By far my favourite ski area. Excellent lift system, all runs connect very easily. Cute little village. The snow hosts make for a very enjoyable experience if you are in a group with different skier levels.
Absolutely lovely place to go! I really enjoyed my week on the slopes here, and I can't wait to go back!
Great mtb trails, small cozy village and beautiful views, highly recommend!
Great place to explore. Enjoyed the gondola ride, hiking and lunch.
We rode the chairlift with two ski instructors joking how they were forced to write report cards for school kids from Okanagan Landing Elementary, which they never even taught lessons to. That's just sad and greedy. Totally ruined my afternoon (as well as my childrens) after hearing that.
Silver Star Mountain Resort is a ski resort located near Provincial Park 22 km from Vernon, BC. The snow season lasts usually from the end of November to beginning of April. Silver Star has 12 lifts, including one eight seat gondola and one Six-Pack Express chair lift. Biking and hiking is permittable from June to September. The bike park features over 50 km of downhill bike trails and more than 30 km of XC trail. There are 132 marked trails. Great activities for summer and winter. Good restaurants, few nice stores, enjoyable shopping and friendly people.
Overall not a very great experience. My family drove from Alberta to go to this resort for the new gondola ride that has just recently opened. This ride is super disappointing. We paid $140 to go up and down the gondola. When you get to the top there is absolutely nothing to do except see some bull dozers and bikers. I wish there was a refund for disappointment. Worst experience I ve ever had.
Staff is amazing. No lineups. Absolutely so much fun
We went up for some mountain biking... Had a blast. The repair rental shop was awesome
Ski hill that has runs for all skill levels, staff is always friendly and now has been amazing the past few years.
Amazing location and staff that are quick to fix mistakes.
Incredible place - dry Okanagan powder for alpine skiers, lots of lifts and runs for every level of skier. There are mapped snowshoe trails plus more at the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre on the West side of the mountain. For XC skiers this place is absolute heaven with over a 100km of beautifully groomed and double tracked trails when combined with Sovereign. The upside is one of the longest seasons in North America, and only 25 minutes from Vernon. The downside - the pastries at Bugaboos Pastry Cafe are irresistible.
Good place for one night stay between the trip between vancouver and banff
Great variety of ski runs. Friendly and super helpful staff at the rental shop!
The "Little Rippers" ski/snowboard group lessons are fantastic value for kids of all ages and skill levels looking to take to the next level with fantastic instructors that make sure no one is left behind.
Awesome selection of runs to choose from for all levels and very well mapped out.
