SHS Farm Ventures Review

I have visited this beautiful farm several times and highly recommend! The place is just wonderful and really great for every age. You get to interact with all kind of animals from chickens to bunnies, horses, even pigs, a llama, donkeys and many more. You can not only pet but also feed them and some will perform special tricks for you! Don't miss out on Snowy, the kissing pony and Tetley, the tea cup pig. There is so much to explore and learn! All the animals are extremely friendly and so is the owner Bette-lyn. You can see that all animals are loved and well taken care of.
In addition to the farm tour you can also go on a trail ride which ensures beautiful views on horseback. A must do when you visit the Sunshine Coast and like horses.

Bette Lyn was simply amazing. the farm is incredible and the horses they have are both beautiful and impeccably behaved. it was my first time riding but was immediately put at ease and with betteLyns guidence felt like I'd being riding for years. getting to ride a champion Andalusian that has been featured on Netflix was certainly an amazing experience that I will never forget and will be back next time for the 4 hour mountain treck. thanks for everything

Great experience. Didn t make a reservation and literally just pulled up with a group of friends and was accommodated, despite being fully booked. Highly recommend the petting farm. Was fun for a bunch of us, college kids. Certain it ll be even more fun for the younger ones in the family.

Cutest animal is Tundra, the guard dog!

This was easily one of the best outings I've had with my daughter. The staff is friendly and warm, they clearly care very much about the animals and they were very accommodating to everyone. I would highly recommend a visit here. Make sure you have an appointment.

This was such a great way to spend the afternoon! .. I just loved all the animals and how friendly and sweet they were .... the staff was very nice and knowledgable... the animals are well taken care of and it shows! My son has such a good time and so did I!

An excellent activity for a family with young kids. My kids interacted with many farm animals. They also rode a pony for the first time. Family run operation. Reasonably priced!

Unique experience! Feels like I was in the world of Babe or Charlotte's Web. These animals all have quite the personalities. We loved it!!

Really great tour of the farm, the kids got to pet and feed chickens, turkeys, peacocks, goats, donkeys, horses and pigs, and rabbits. Kids had a blast, well worth the money :)

farm ventures was an amazing experience bettelynn allowed us to visit her farm on an off day and she was very generous and showing us everything her farm had to offer all the different animal tricks the baby animals.

Our family has very different levels of riding experience and we were well matched to horses and personally escorted on the ride. The owners are very knowledgeable and patient, and their animals are clearly well loved. We all had a great time and will visit again.

Had an amazing visit here on the 1.5 hour ride. The staff are friendly, patient and great for anyone like me who has no prior experience with horses.

Had a great time on horseback at Farm Ventures. It was my husband s first time ridding and it was awesome getting back in the saddle again. Would like to thank Marie and Josephine for such a great experience and making our trail ride pleasant and comfortable. Our horses Gulliver, Snowy and Linda were impressive and so amazing. Our second time around and had such a wonderful time once again! The kids loved every moment of their pony ride with Snowy and Sunny. The petting zoo was such a treat!!!! We had a great time horse riding yesterday. Our guide was very kind and friendly as the animals. I would definitly recomend this place for families and friends.

Four kids, four adults and we all had a blast. Everyone was so friendly. Pony rides and feeding the animals was great but the highlight was cuddling baby bunnies.

I came here with my boyfriend just 2 adults no kids. We did the farm venture tour and 1 hour of horse back riding. They were really friendly there and the animals are awesome!. The lady that owns the farm very nice. We had an amazing time. I definitely recommend it. Just don't mind getting a little dirty !

We had a lovely morning at Farm Ventures with our two year old daughter! The staff we're really patient with her (and us) and made sure that she was getting the instruction needed to be safe around the animals. She especially loved holding and cuddling the baby guniea pigs and petting the llama. We plan to go again when in the area and add a pony ride next time

I have had the privilege of attending several events at Farm Ventures on the Sunshine Coast. In each instance, I have been tremendously impressed with the learning and enjoyment evident on the part of both children and adults. Additionally, the care and sensitivity of the Farm's staff is exemplary. All children should have this kind of joyful opportunity in their lives. We took our niece and nephew for a farm adventure and pony ride. This is beyond an incredible experience! Bette-lyn is so patient and she ensured every person in our group got special attention and turns to hold, pet, and fees the animals. She made it fun and educational, giving us fun facts about all of the different animals. You can tell how much she loves all the furry babies she has on her farm. We got to meet all the animals, hold the bunnies and birds, feed the horses and bunnies and chickens, pet the pigs and goat and donkeys, we got to keep an egg, and our littles got to ride the ponies. We couldn t stop smiling for hours afterwards and our niece and nephew kept talking about how amazing and fun and awesome the day was. We are so lucky to have such a precious gem as Farm Ventures on the coast!!!

Amazing farm where children and adults can play and communicate with different animals. You will see horses, dogs, peacock, donkey, chickens, bunnies and more. The tour took ~1.5 hour. And don't forget, it's a farm, it might be dirty.

They have beautiful and sweet Andalusian horses which are quite rare to see in every day life! Also, the staffs are very friendly and helpful, they teach all the basics of riding a horse. Plus ,the view on the rail is fantastic!! Totally recommend this place to anyone:)

Excellent place to bring your kids!
We contacted the owner last minute over the August long weekend to see if any tours were available. She accomodated our family on a tour that same day! They have a wide variety of very friendly animals and the staff are excellent with young kids. Our kids had such a good time, we decided to come back the following day for a pony ride. Maya was very attentive with our daughter throughout the ride, and did a great job!

Our great nephews claimed that their visit today was the BEST day of their lives ! They are visiting from Holland and were thrilled to feed and pet the animals, but they especially loved their time with the bunnies and the fabulous birds! Even my 70 year old husband got a thrill out of the baby bunnies

Farm Ventures provides wise and realistic approaches to adventure! I highly recommend the trail rides and critter visits for ALL ages. What a wonderful place, especially during a pandemic!

5 stars for the farm itself. Lots of awesome critters and the owner is friendly and knowledgeable.
4 for the trail ride. Spent lots of time on the road and the recent snowfall made most of the trail pretty challenging with trees either across the path or we had to push them out of the way. But I understand some of that is out of their control.
Would go again in the summer when the trails get more love.

The experience could have been amazing. The first problem was that we were told that most of the animals were at a May day festival elsewhere when we arrived. If we would have been told that when booking it wouldn't have caught us by surprise (we booked on the same day as our tour). Then the riding horse was off somewhere in the back pasture and we were told to come back next time and the horse should be available. This would mean that we would be paying $65 just to come back so my son could ride a horse.

Overall the experience was fun for our 4 year old son (which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 1), the property is very clean and the animals seem very happy and well cared for. I just wish we could have had the total experience.

Whether it is for adults or children, it is a happy time to relax. Leave more time, interact with the animals, observe quietly, record with the camera...

I have visited the beautiful farm and I think it is really nice. The animals are really great and they are easy to pet.

I think it is a really great experience and I would recommend it to anyone who likes animals and wants to get closer to them. There is really a big selection of them. From chicken to horse, everything is there. The animals are lovingly cared for and every single one of them is doing very well here. It's a place fore Every age.

The farm tour was so much fun for all ages! We were expecting to just roam around petting and feeding animals, not knowing the tour actually provide us feeds, information and have the animals do their special tricks. There is even a room of bunnies, Guinea pigs for you to enjoy. We had so much fun!

Took my son to the farm. We both loved all the different animals as we were able to hold, pet, and feed them. But most of all the animals were very happy and friendly following us. They would come over and visit. A great experience for adults and kids to learn about animals. There was even a talking horse and a smiling pig. It is an amazing place and experience.

We had an amazing time with Pascal. My faughter was nervous at first and he made sure she was comfortable the whole way. He has a great personality and may the experience awesome. We also loved the horses snowy and Gulliver

We had a wonderful time at farm ventures. My grandchildren we so excited and happy to be able to touch and pet all the friendly and well cared for animals at Farm Ventures. The owners were very kind and ensured they had a fabulous experience. They also had the opportunity to ride two very quiet ponies on a wonderful little trail ride. Totally recommend this fun place for kids and adults as well.

I held 4 week old bunnies! Guinea Pigs, micro pigs, turkeys, peacocks, lama, donkeys, goat, chickens, pheasants, pigeons, Quackers the duck, a goose, dogs, bunnies, ponies and horses. Oh my!!!! Farm Ventures also offers pony rides and trail rides you can also book groups visits as well. It is an excellent opportunity for the whole family.
A 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale on the Sunshine Coast..then the drive from the ferry to the farm is about 15 minutes. A great day trip. Make sure you call in advance and make reservations as this location is popular with families.

I enjoyed the experience will definitely do it again

Pony bucked off my 1 year old daughter and the owner tried to blame us for having a toy with us. We were at a preschool event with many kids with toys. The owner was not apologetic and was blaming us! Also continued to use that pony for rides after this happened. The guy who was holding the pony did nothing to try and help my daughter. I was hold her arm but she fell on the opposite side of me and the pony was still bucking so I couldn t pull her over. The guy was on that side and did nothing to help. The pony is unsafe the owner is rude and unapologetic. They shouldn t be allowed at events with kids!

The farm tour was average with a decent variety of animals, but the quality of the trail ride was abysmal. Though the horses were well behaved, we did not get to experience what was advertised- instead of a view of the Georgia Strait, we took a ride up a ridiculously rocky and steep path (having to get off multiple times) then into a dank forest where the only view we received was one of a slimy pond. Our ride was over guided as well. Though I have been riding and teaching riding lessons for just over 9 years, the guide/owner Betty Lynn, lead my horse and walked beside me the entire time, seemingly unable to tell the difference between a spooked horse and an exited/happy horse. The trail itself was not well kept and branches almost took everyone's eyes out. If our guide had not stopped us so many times to either pick berries to give the horses or ask us if we wanted water every five minutes, the trail would have taken about 40 minutes instead of the 1.5 hours we had booked and paid for. Overall, the ride was not worth our time or money and experienced riders (3 in total) were treated like children, leaving us annoyed with twigs and bugs in our hair.

Everyone was so nice and helpful! Even my bf who d never ridden felt comfortable. 10/10

What a wonderful place! if your an animal lover this is the place for you, its very hands on and interactive, you are able to feed and spend quality time with the animals,(which are very friendly) theres a bunny room with tons of cute fluffy bunnys and so many more animals. The staff is wonderful and if you get the chance i would check it out and support the farm and bussniess, i personally loved it and any quality time with animals i enjoy so i will be coming back.

We had a great time at the farm today! My almost 6 year old and I did a trail ride while my almost 2 year old and wife did a farm tour. Everyone had a great time. The folks that run this place are so kind. It s clear that they really care for the animals. Our trail ride guides, Pascal and Max were lovely.
