Best casino in the Chicago/indiana area the machines always hit ,the food is good ,the hotel rooms are beautiful and the customer service is amazing. I have literally stoped in just for a baked potatoe soup.
The stadium has great food from wings to steak.

It's horrible to not be Able to warm up your food because microwaves have been taken out of the Room because of the pandemic. Whoever cleans the rooms could sterilise the microwave so that's the rooms can keep them. The same applies with the refrigerator we could not eat our food.

Reaerved a room, got there late, even though i called and told them we would be late, they wanted to give us a smoking room or a king non smoking room, 3 guys in 1 bed, i think not. They dont honor reservations.

I made hotel reservations after receiving an email solicitation from Ameristar. I made reservations for the same night at about 6pm to surprise my partner for a night of gambling and relaxation. It started to snow and traffic was horrible. It was a blizzard, and I'm glad I reserved for 2 nights. We get there at 930 pm and are told that or reservations were canceled at 9pm. They claimed to be sold out and we were forced to drive to another nearby casino that welcomed us. I will never patronize Ameristar casino again.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our room is incredible and the bed is really comfortable. Only complaint is the A/C is either not very cool or doesn't remove humidity well. The hallway is actually cooler. But it hasn't been enough to even complain to the staff, so overall we're really happy with our stay!

I haven't been in a few years but I went on Saturday afternoon for lunch I had bragged on this Buffet to my family members so I bought some family members that had not been there before I felt like it has declined tremendously there were Limited meat selections overly salty food. Honestly I could have done better at Golden Corral or a local buffet. For the price point even the same dollar amount for children.. I wasn't expecting hot dogs hamburgers and smoked sausage and fried chicken that was the extent of the meat selection very disappointed. And let me not forget the dried-out Snapper extremely dry and then Buffet had just opened how do you over cook snapper and you just opened? I will not be returning

I had stayed @this hotel since 2016 each time was wonderful especially when I learned of the handicap accessible rooms. This past weekend June 29 to July 1 2019 was miserable. The bed was so low to the floor that I flopped very hard down on to it. The top mattress was removed leaving only a box spring on a flat bed frame.
I called front desk about this and was told that the hotel had to be in compliance with ADA requirements. I was in unbelief that ADA would have a bed lowered to the floor. How could a person in a wheel chair move at ease to the bed, or like me a person with knee and back problem get up and down without injury.
I felt trapped in a bed that I could not get out of I had to stretch myself width way across the bed and roll to the foot of the bed onto the bench to sit upward.
I contacted someone named Paul in housekeeping I guess he was management since I asked to speak with some one in charge. He claimed the bed is 20" high to ADA requirement and the absent of a top mattress was removed and the box spring was on a bunkie board. I told him how uncomfortable and unpleasant my stay was he chuckled and continue to repeat his compliance remark and how many years they were not in compliance. I was told by other disable people that they had complained but got no where with Ameristar even a housekeeper said the same thing.That's disturbing and illegal to people with disabilties.

Hotel and Valet staff were very rude and unprofessional. They talked back to me, belittled me, and would talk over me continuously. When we first arrived at the hotel the valet came to the car and we said that we were going to check in and then come back for our luggage, he responded with, "O no your not. You are getting everything now and taking it into the hotel." I think he could have worded that in a more polite way. There were ton of cars in front of the casino blocking a path to the hotel, I think that I could park in front of the hotel for 5 mins to check in. When coming into the hotel to check in they informed us that because we didn't check in by 9:00pm they canceled our room and gave it to someone else. After arguing with them for a great deal of time, they finally gave us a room. After getting to our room we found out that it was smoking and called the operator to get the non-smoking room we reserved two weeks ago. She informed us that we are not guaranteed a non-smoking room no matter when we reserve the room, even if it was a month in advance. I also asked if we could get a non-smoking room for the 2nd day and she informed us that we have to check in the morning. She said that she does not know if there are non-smoking rooms available even a day in advance. They must give these rooms out on a first come first serve basis. During this whole process the staff was so unprofessional and so rude to me, I will never come back to this casino. I even tried to get the names of the staff to report them to management, but one of the ladies would not give me her name and would turn her badge around so I could not take it down. I think that she was kind of worried about her job. There are a lot of casinos out there and I know that others will treat you better.

This place is very nice. I go at least once a month. The roo.s are clean the views on higher floors are nice. The food in the restaurants are really great. The food is always good and the steakhouse is excellent. Sbarro is well Sbarro. And the casino is riverboat style casino with lots of slots and some tables and other games on the top floors. Comps and points can be earned pretty quickly if you sign up for the membership and the rewards get better and better as you play more and more. All in all if you're looking to stay at an affordable hotel casino in East chicago area, this would be a great place. I give it a 4.2 out of 5.

The casino is great, the buffet is mediocre. Great staff but some of the food like Mac and Cheese tastes like it's straight out of a box. The Prime Rib was good just had a lot of fat, a part from that (and the road in and out be confusing specially in the darkness of night) I love Ameristar. The Bugatti restaurant is a must, best bread before the meal!

Good food. Nice hotel. Lots of slots, lots of $5 poker tables. Staff is not so friendly. Customer service donot care about customers. I have seen CS arguing with people.

I recommend the buffet - it might be limited but they will take care of you pretty well over there and I always see the chef around to check up with guests to assure that they are taken care of. I don't really see that at other buffets and it is really appreciated, especially when there was something on the buffet you have had before and isn't there at the time, chef is willing to take care of the guests by going out of his way to get the item to your table the way you like it.

Security is friendly and welcoming. Dealers are friendly and if you aren't familiar with hand signals on table games, such as Blackjack, they are willing to help you learn

Casino is the casino. Might be tight, might be loose, but I always seem to leave without breaking the bank.

I visited the casino yesterday and covid 19 is an accident waiting to happen there. They tell everyone a mask is recommended, but when smoking it's alright not to wear a mask. Then people are walking right behind you blowing smoke right at you along with the virus. I won't be going back anytime soon.
