The waiter was awesome, it was cold and he let us move to a seat near the fireplace. The food did take a while but hey it's not a fast food restaurant. I will say this it was definitely worth the wait. We had Steak, Mash, Oysters, and Brussel sprouts so so good guys.

I'm often in Boston visiting relatives in the Back Bay area and when I get a chance I stop at Abe and Louie's which is one of my favorite places for a nice juicy filet mignon. The bar atmosphere is lively and friendly as I don't mind a few cocktails before dinner. I've had quite a few great conversations with the locals who make me feel right at home. Don't forget to try the little neck clams as seafood is a staple of the area.

I do not normally write reviews, but the dining experience with Abe & Louie s last night was not just disappointing but aggravating. I ve been to Abe & Louie s many times, and I have always loved the steaks there. My girlfriend and I ordered the special tomahawk ribeye steak. However, most of the steak came out very cold and very rare except for the few pieces on the side. We asked our server to heat up the steak more. Nevertheless, the center was still cold when it came out. Also, a tomahawk ribeye is supposed to have a juicy and fatty taste, it was just ashamed that the steak was so lean that it was almost the same as a chuck steak sold in Costco, not to mention that the price of the tomahawk ribeye was $140! We were robbed of a great dining experience, and we will not be back again.

We recently dined at Abe & Louie's on a Friday evening. The two of us were promptly seated. Our server could not have been more knowledgable or professional. We shared a 20 oz steak and ordered salads and sides. Forty minutes after our order was placed, our steak and sides arrived. Was the steak good? Yes. Was it worth the wait? No.

This is an upscale restaurant with an experience that is hard to forget, especially if you don't partake in upscale dinning fare often. The service is timely and welcoming, the bread is soft and delicious, and the steaks are fantastic. I highly recommend coming here if you are looking to splurge a little bit.

My steak was really good but the sides I ordered could have used more flavor. The clam chowder was very rich and flavorful. Everything was reasonably priced for the level of restaurant and the service was great as well.

Last week was our first time we came to that place. But It is no doubt not the last time. We passed a splendid evening with the excellent service, with the high quality meal and fine drinks and with the decent cost. We will absolutely return there in a short time.

An outstanding meal and one of the best ribeyes I have had in a long time. Service was great and the prices are commensurate with a steakhouse of this quality. Although the decor could be updated, you will not be disappointed with the quality of your experience.

Have not been there in about 20 years. Went yesterday with a dear old friend and had to send her order back as it was overcooked and not rare as she asked and noted several times. The staff did take care of it and a manager did check in with us as well which was very nice. Overall it was pretty good, but there are a lot of other restaurants right around there so if charging top dollar you really need to be at the top of your game. I would try it again as the staff and service was very good, but the meal itself needs to be excellent as well.

My wife and I went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. The food was unusually tasty without being too complicated, and unusually light for a gourmet restaurant. We had a very tasty, crunchy snow pea salad as well as oysters for appetizer, and then monkfish and sea bream, both prepared well for the main courses....

I Live in the mandarin oriental, first restaurant review I have ever left. Come here very frequently and it is my favorite restaurant in the city. however they changed the bread and the tartare presentation - both huge downgrades. The bread was the absolute best in the city (across all steakhouses Abe & Louie s stood out), it was always hot and served in a cast iron skillet, friends would always rave about it when we would bring them. It probably sounds crazy but will not come as often. Now it s a basic bread basket like every other restaurant around

The place is nice and the service is excellent. Personally I didn't like the food tho. I got the filet mignon and i sent it back twice. Once it was burnt and the second time the taste was dreadful. The other stake options were great tho. I would differently try to give them a second change later on. I still believe grill 23 is the best.

Expensive, but worth every damn cent. The service is where a place like this really shines. If you are lucky enough to get Conrad, be excited. He made a wonderful experience one that my family will not forget. Food is very good and the ambiance, though similar to other high end steak houses, stands out.

One of my favorite spots in Boston. Service is excellent. Their steaks are really good. Good marbling, cooked as asked, and the side dishes are really good too. Their lunch is pretty spot on as well (tuna burger is amazing). Only thing is that depending on the day, the food can be a little too salty. Haven't tried asking for less salt, but that might be an option some people might want to take

Steakhouse can't make a rare steak! Was warned that a rare steak was cool and pink on the inside. It came out medium. The second one was done perfectly but had a fair amount of gristle. They took it off the bill. The Demi glace was watery and hardly seemed reduced. Tasted like canned gravy. Service was excellent.

Boston s best bartenders!! I ve been going to Abe s for the past 10 years and the service, the food and the atmosphere is outstanding! The best part of it all is their friendly bartenders. Especially Michelle and Matt. I send all of my clients to go there and sit at the bar. They never disappoint.

I'm a regular, spent well into five figures here last year according to my rewards card, so I'm writing this review under a psuedonym, food is great, so great that even stuff I normally wouldn't eat, I tolerate, their starting lineup of bartenders are great, the early weekday benchwarmers are acceptable. The wait staff is very professional for the most part, they give you an old fashioned dining experience for better or for worse depending on your taste, some have been around a little too long and it's a surprise they don't forget to put their shirts on in the morning (if you know what I mean). Bar has a full menu, basic beers on draught, one of the only places, even in Boston that knows the correct temperature to serve a Guinness. They are under the same umbrella as Atlantic Fish next door which is also great, similar ambience and clientele which I forgot to mention, is uniquely and postiviley conservative, refined, and perfect for any occasion I could think of. Just stay away from the escorts that hang out at the bar and you'll enjoy yourself.

We came in for Sunday brunch and to watch the game. The food was outstanding and the service was fantastic. To start with the sweet bread with brown sugar was just delicious...
The lobster salad was light, fresh and you get a half lobster, legs and a claw. Fresh and tasty! The crab cakes were just as good, large and cream (full of crab not filler). There is a great wine by the glass list and the option of a big or small glass which is nice. Coffee was also on point. All in all it was a wonderful brunch and we will defiantly be back.

The food is very good but I rated it 3 stars because the portion size is ridiculously large and the prices reflect the portion size. If you LOVE steak you might appreciate that but otherwise it's just too much food.

One of the nicest steak houses, and furthermore restaurants, in the city. The service and atmosphere (while not adopting a stuffy vibe) here are elegant to say the least. Food is amazing, of course. Always a favorite even if stopping in for a Brandy at the end of the night...Stay classy.

I came here with a group of 8 so the service was a bit slow. The restaurant was romantic and had a great atmosphere. The dishes were very good. It's a la carte so we ordered a couple sides to share for the table although they were much larger than we expected. Our waiter accidently spilled a glass of water on someone so after dinner he brought out a full tray of desserts complimentary. Unfortunately we were so full we could hardly eat them but it was delicious! Very good place and worth the price.

Great steakhouse that serves fresh seafood and good steaks. We started with the oysters and you can see from our picture, they were the size of our hands. Super fresh and delicious. Also had the filet mignon - well cooked and seasoned. We definitely will be back. Great service as well!

Excellent customer service, and the food is incredible, our waiter Christopher #628 was very knowledgeable and attentive to detail, he made sure our food was impeccable and would check in every time a new dish would arrive to make sure the temperature was right on. They started us with freshly bread and butter, We started with an appetizer a delicious Bacon
Nueske's bacon, blue cheese, whole grain mustard, Peppadew relish, followed by the 50 days dry aged New York and the Bone in Aged prime Ribeye accompany with asparagus absolutely delicious
Our drinks were refreshing and just the right amount of liquor not sweet or bitter(Elevated strawberry Gin and Tonic) and lastly we finished with seven layer chocolate cake.

Ate on a Monday night and poor food quality and terrible service. We had been wanting to try for quite a while. Ribeye was shoe leather. Had to ask to have our dishes cleared 20 min after we finished eating as the waiter too busy flirting with the next table. Clearly no manager working tonight. Save your 2.5 hours and $.

Amazing food! Great service! Expensive but well worth every penny. I had a 40oz steak that was cooked exactly as requested. I can't say enough good things about this fine establishment. So happy that I spent my birthday at Abe & Louie's this year. Thank you for an exceptional evening.

Our server, Anthony, he knew exactly how to be an excellent server, and he did it well. My bacon was spectacular, and the waygu was to die for, I dream about going back every night, but sadly my wallet can't handle going more than once a year.

Food is great. Very pricey. Great service. Always great food but it was really pricey for brunch. It will be good to add more potatoes on the plate to make it worth the price. The service was great
