Shoprite Supermarket Review

Love this ShopRite and I live in East Orange and customer service is very good...

Courteous staff. Always clean. Good social distancing.

Such a wide selection of food, household goods, cosmetics and just about everything that you might need to include appliance. Shelves are always well-stocked and meat and produce always fresh. I appreciate the knowledgeable staff.

The prices were right the employees were professional a joy, but there was a Newark Cop who was very disrespectful to a female shopper me,we got into n management had him removed fm the floor n resolved the matter, a true peace maker n professional.

The store is beautiful and a nice place but it is a horrible shopping experience. I have never been to a store, grocery or otherwise, which is constantly overcrowded. The lines are supremely long and it will take hours just to do small shopping. It is sad because the store itself is gorgeous. But unfortunately the people of the area do not add anything either. Walking into the store you hear nothing but cursing and yelling from people. It seems respect and consideration are unheard of here. Upon every visit I find there are never any baskets by the entrance. This has been the case with numerous visits. When I finally tried to tell a manager and file a complaint I was given an excuse why a manager could not see me. This was the last straw to lose my business at this location forever. I do not recommend this store for any shopper at any time.

The prepared food is good and fresh. They are generally a good market. The biggest complaint is that they are probably the only reasonably priced and stocked market for a few miles. For this reason they stay packed... When I say packed I mean PACKED. YOU CAN BARELY GET AROUND IN THE FRONT HALF OF THE STORE. It's stressful and you're on line forever bc there are just so many ppl. The staff does it's very best it seems to manage the crowd but it still feels overwhelming. Lastly, they do have a really good bakery.

The location is convenient. Produce is decent. Staff is a little ghetto - not worst than East Orange Shop Rite, which I choose not to patronize.

Honestly this place is probably my favorite ShopRite. Huge selection, good prices, no sales tax courtesy of the zoning and very quick lines. The traffic here is unreal, but don't be daunted by it. The workers are very good at what they do and move people quickly. Serves a LOT of people. Can't say I've tried everything they have but honestly can't complain about their selection. Also very clean!!!

I like shoprite alot but sometimes the prices are ridiculously high and its always really crowded while the cashiers take there time. Sometimes there a bit rude. Besides that shoprite is an ok place to shop

Very very crowded, you'll probably knock some stuff over trying to get around people. lot of registers are open but slow and rude cashiers .

I know you are going to Jersey it's just a supermarket. Understand what this is Shoprite has come home. Yes people ShopRite started it domination in Newark. Newark has needed a primetime market since A&P also Pathmark closed their doors. It is a beautiful store the owners showed out. You walk in to the fresh smell of hot prepared food and you see the cooks working to keep it coming.

The restrooms are also there when you walk in. The deli section is next get your pastrami, turkey and Swiss for that perfect sandwich. You don't want Wonder bread let's get some fresh baked rolls from the bakery why not. We also need some lettuce, tomatoes and onions to really make our sandwich pop.

No no no I don't want a sandwich I want some fish. Well you are in luck the seafood it right here stocked with some fresh salmon, flounder, shrimp and clams etc. You can get your seafood fix on. No wait you don't want seafood now why? Oh cause you see those beautiful steaks and they are calling your name.

Light the charcoal we are going to eat some good food. Let's get some Porterhouse, T-Bone and NY Strip for the grill. Hey what about our pork eaters no problem Baby Back or Spare do you want Pork shoulder or Boston Butt. We can't have a BBQ without wings come on man what are you thinking.

You have your meat for the carnivores let's get some juice for the kids soda for the adults if need be. I know you are saying what about rice, pasta frozen food and fries yes they carry it all. So stop by see this beautiful market in the heart of Newark and you will smile too.

Newark, truly needed a place where you can get fresh fruit, vegetables, seafood, meat and poultry. Not throwing digs at any other markets but ShopRite has a standard and Newark truly needed a place that cares what the people consume.

Love this supermarket, produce is always fresh and a wide variety but Lines are always extremely long probably because everyone agrees. Decided to do a buy online pick up in store for all my groceries with a schedule pick up time! Super efficient and love that it had its own entrance so I didn t have to deal with the crowds.

Definitely a great place to shop, pay point could get easily crowded though. So be fast in and out.

Always stocked and any given day there are manager Specials employees are very nice and helpful.

Fruits and vegetables are fresh and cheap. The service is super super. I love the smiles on workers faces. Its like a family.

My very 1st. time there. Was busy,but the workers were patient and very organized. The Express lanes were real express lanes,self checkout lines were moving in a steady pace. Lines were line,but considering the circumstances the environment was calm and moving along. I do plan on utilizing this shoprite more often.

Amazing shoprite for our community. However it is packed in here almost everyday which makes the store layout terrible. There's never enough registers open always always always a long line in checkout. You spend more tine waiting to ring up your groceries then you do food shopping.

Lines are always too long! Only for lines regularly open. Need to hire more cashiers to get the customers out in a timely fashion

They had plenty of cashiers & brought everything I was looking for. I was in & out in less than a hour

workers were very friendly but professional found everything I was looking for and the checkout line was quick and the cashier made you feel welcome and was polite courteous and friendly. congratulations Shop Rite you certainly have improved with employees

My first time inside there today and I was a bit impressed compared to my usual shoprite in East Orange. I loved how they had a fresh deli and bakery. They even had a buffet style where you can make your own salad with fruits. Very nice! I'll definitely go back another day soon.

This ShopRite has a computer customer could use to load digital coupons to their Price Plus Club Card. This ShopRite always have a long wait time for the Express line every time I go there never seems to fail. There are always employees on the floor to help you find something you need, Eespecially in Frozen Foods, Meat, Dairy and Produce departments.

Over crowded and nothing in stock. Can't even get black pepper.

Poor customer service. Went to get hot good and they didn't have no napkins. When I started asking for napkins, nobody seem to speak English.

Happy a supermarket is in my neighborhood produce was good found everything I needed without a problem. It's always busy only supermarket in the area and it's managed well most of the time. A new store there will always be improvements

Brand new facilities, clean and well organized. I appreciate the reasonable prices and they do get good sales. Not the best in friendly customer service but if you ask a question they'll answer it.

This place always smells like a warm cooked meal.

They have a total 20 cashier register and they neglected to open them at pick hours. Terrible place to shop.

I have been to many ShopRite stores. This one by far is the best down to the customer service, cleanliness, variety of products and Fresh Bakery. I dropped my son off at Rutgers and now this is where I shop. I am very pleased even down to the bagger who puts my groceries organized by category! it's the little things that make me come to where I shop. Even the community watches out for each other. I witnessed a mother who was walking across the street with their child and she mistakenly must have been preoccupied when another individual reminded her to watch her kid as he crossed the street. When you go to a store that does everything right you attract people who care for each other and are happy exchanging pleasantries. What an experience. I have been preaching to my friends what a great store it is and should be proud.

Great they helped me with everything even though I did not have a smartphone with me for the electronic coupon they took the little plastic thing that they gave me to put on my keychain and still gave me the discount

Easy to access with 3 different entrances. Great and clean place to buy groceries. Very convenient and has very helpful workers.

It has very long lines at times. And the Express Lines are just as bad. Too slow.

The staff for the most part are professional and courteous. My issue is they run out of chicken thighs and don't restock it, and price tags are missing on various things like red bell peppers and eggs in the refrigerator. It makes me think they're doing something shady with the prices. Also the new brand of milk is called bowl and basket and the milk looks like straight up water. I liked the original ShopRite brand.

As long as you get there before the 10am crowd, the shopping experience is great.

Sale last week was selective and good could have been on more items but sale varies from week to week. Store was clean outside and inside and if your in-store when doors first open then you typically will spend about 30 mins there.

Shopping was great and food as well. Newark on the regentification. Oh yeah

This shoprite is always packed and it's hard to get around in the isles with so many people in the store. I wouldn't go there again because everytime I went there it was always crowded and the forget about them they were even worse.

I love this place! Will fulfill mist of your needs for Groceries, Deli-oh my God, Drug store, Bakery- what can I say but awesome, Hot Food - don't cook.

So many people working but act as if they no nothing!! I ask 7 different employees how can check to see if an is in stock? Nobody could answer...the one lady who did had an attitude and basically just shued me away....how unprofessional....I tried to stay calm and polite as always but it was becoming very hard to.

Newark ShopRite manager should teach their cashiers how to welcome a customer. I went to the supermarket today May 16/19 around 7 pm and was very surprised about the bad character and the umpolitely way that one of the cashier on section 7 precisely was talking to me.Unfortunately that's what happen when you hire unexperienced teenagers as a cashier

Everything stays nice and clean and they're always stocked. Lines gets long but they move unlike the one in hillside.

This particular shoprite is decent in terms of being stocked however, the baggers are horrible especially today 4/15/19. This Particular young lady was rude and over bagging the items. She also was sneak checking my cart as if I was a theft which I found extremely insulting.

Like the new store. Have purchased from deli, the prepared desserts and they have great sales. The quality, of course, is most important. So, great quality at a great price.
