If ya love gambling,great food and music at the mustang,this is the place you wanna be. To many amenities to mention.

Nice games, I love the restaurant's but I was not happy with hotel stay

The rooms in the hotel need to updated. The events are real good and the level of entrainment they attract. The gambling is at best so so. I'm not sure MN gaming commission really bothers to check their practices.

Ordered 2 beds, close to desk, got 1 plus finally a cot at far end. Concert great

They have updated there Buffet .It is light and airy. The only thing that could have been better was to have a small spoon instead of a Soup spoon .THEY COULD HAVE HAD MORE GF DESSERT CHOICES but ICE CREAM. All AND ALL I "LOOK FORWARD TO "GOING BACK"

Good size casino lots of slots to play... has 3 bars and a few beer stands to get drinks quickly.. deli has a lot of choices for food but its always pretty busy!

Food was expensive and not very good. Service decent. Concert venue was below average, as they kept doors open that let light in. Hotel was dirty, toilet not cleaned when we checked in.

Love the non- smoking area, busy nights lack of slot techs to fix machines there. Not super fan of buffet at best overpriced for comfort food selections always the same every day. Smoke usually really good need supervisor on busy nights as servers fall behind and food comes out cold. The casino has a comment card program, however never call back when phone number given. Gave suggestion for Veteran's card like so many other casinos around the country have. Guess what took my suggestion and only offer to Native Americans. It is truly a shame they don't recognize all Veterans.

Way more slots to play than Dakota Magic. They offer free hot tea as well as coffee. There deli which stays open very late is awsome!

Full of alcohol, smoking, and gambling, was interesting being inside, but definitely not my kind of place

The hotel check in was disastrous, each receptionist had terrible attitudes, and messy appearance. Please invest in a good guest services training for the staff.

Nice place and people. Newly remodeled buffet, but changed from breakfast to lunch at 930am. Confusing....

Entertainment was boring for a Saturday night show. Food was absolutely terrible as well as over priced for the quality and quantity you received.

They need top realize if they pay out a little more on their winnings they would get more people in there

My boyfriend surprised me with a room reservation. The staff and accommodations were great. The gaming machines were not as friendly. The entire experience was both romantic and rewarding. Love this stop!!

Room was nice, clean. Food was great. Casino was fun, clean and employees were friendly. A very nice experience all around.

It really does smell. The sweet cologne that is piped in does nothing to mask the smell. The linens in our room were dirty. Fire alarms went off and shut down our hallway. Windows were blocked with screws and we couldn't open them. The food we had (reception) was OK. There us no information booklet on the hotel or spa. There is lots that is not good here. BUT... every person that we ran across that worked there was very nice. That helped make up for the rocky start. The reception we attended was very nice. Staff was fun and accommodating EVEN with fire alarm going off. ... Again. Management, spend some money on commercial air purifiers... Train Brice (?) at the front desk. A cleaner atmosphere and you would have a +++

Hotel stay is worth 4 stars. I stayed in a king room with a jacuzzi and living room for $109/night. This is super cheap for the quality of the room size, bed comfort and jacuzzi. Standard room prices were $70/night. There are smoking, non-smoking, and pet friendly rooms available. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful during the check in and out process. The casino bartender Terri is worth the 5 stars. He was very prompt, nice to chat with, and provided a safe escape when a drunk stranger was getting too close.

Went there for the Paracon event which was awesome. However the room we stayed in has plumbing issues. The tub drains really slow. The toilet I had to fix because the chan came off in the tank. The Jacuzzi sprayed water on the walls and ceiling. Now for the Buffet. Since when do you rashion food at a buffet? We had the seafood buffet which they were limiting the crab legs one can have. The crab legs were for ****. When you break them open there was a tiny amount of meat in them. Then there is the smoking. I thought that places like that banned smoking? I know the casino by us did. This is my review and I'm sticking to it.

Had crab buffet for our anniversary and hot on many of the machines. Band was awesome and staff aytentive. Good time!!

I ended up a little bit Ahead this time around. That's always a plus in My Book.

Stayed in the RV campsite. It was an amazing experience. The park is kept immaculate and the community bathroom and showers are clean and well kept. The price was $20.00 a night from May thru September. A super deal! The RV park has all three hookups, water, sewer, and 20, 30, 50 amp hookups. A must visit place to RV!

Checking in at the hotel was a complete nightmare. Staff was not trained at all when a new computer program was installed which caused nothing but headaches as a first impression of Shooting Star Hotel. Guests were trying to be as patient as possible after traveling hours to get there. I do not blame the staff at the counter, I blame the lack of time spent properly training them on the new system. Checking in should be a pleasant experience not a frustrating one.

I love to go here cause it is always nice nd clean plus it was freshly remodeled not long ago

I just went to the casino part of the complex where it was very clean, custodians were always on the prowl looking for things to clean as well as a very friendly drink staff. I lost money but still was a positive experience

Very smoky. Great venue for a concert. During the concerts the bass just vibrates within you. Maybe because it's a small venue. The buffet was just ok nothing special.

We went on Xmas day. Got there early, knowing check in wasn't till 3pm. Told rooms weren't ready, check back. Kept checking and did not get to check in till 6pm. Not the rooms reserved! 2 doubles instead of queen. Rooms not clean. Beds looked like they just pulled up covers called it good. TV was on???? Couldn't find remote. Guess what? Under the bed!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Not bad so glad they got rid of the smoking indoors. Love the newer machines. Hopefully they get more .

There was a fire inside the casino. The fire alarm went off almost 2 hours after that. Half the machines went out. There was no way to cash In voucher. Then ALL the power went out. No lights. It was our first time there and we were celebrating our birthdays together. Had to leave with all our winnings on a voucher. Now have to make the 2 hour drive back just to collect. What a way to start off your birthday celebration. 0 stars.

It's nice, clean, mostly seniors during the day. Lively with music shows in evening and weekend s. Regular casino.

I went to the Mino Wiisini last night with a friend who is staying at your hotel until Sunday for Paracon.nWe were standing in line when the couple in front of us went and sat down to wait. We over heard one of the guys say they couldn't take orders. My friend asked what is going on the same guy told her they couldn't take orders due to there computer being down to print orders. She then made the comment why can you talk to your customers as ask what they want and make the orders. He replied with that would take to long. I then asked if he ever heard of a piece of paper and pen. He replied with I am not going to do that cause it's to much work and I don't get paid for that. I then said you don't get paid to work which he said I am working. I went to put my pop away and told him he wasn't working but standing around since they couldn't take orders. The worse part about this is the Manager or supervisor was standing at the end of counter by the grills and never said a word. With him being in the deli they had a total of 5 people. They had no excuse for what happened last night and differently don't need a guy like that working with people.

I never win anymore . Takes to long and to much to spend to increase your card and not win enough to play. Tired of only getting bingo points , when I don't play bingo, but u sure put enough into the machines for the few who do. Nothing is given to the machine players. On a good note.. the workers are wonderful..

The only reason I'm giving a 4 star rating is because I, myself did not win. My husband on the other hand... he won for both of us. We loved this casino and will be going again soon. The set up of it gives you lots of variety. More space. Can't wait to go back!

I have few complaints, except that I wished the entire gaming floor was smoke free, leaving one room for smokers. Food and service largely excellent at the Smoke. Wind card players should be afforded more amenities. The non-Indian and non-smokers are the largest share of players and customers, please accommodate us by going smokeless. We are regular players and customers at the Shooting Star and have been for 10 years, driving round trip 70 miles. Thank you for this opportunity to comment.

No playback and rooms are horribly disgusting... Always dirty they never change the sheets either. Room attendents are busting ur door down to clean before checkout time. Have had the same lead housekeeper walk in my room before checkout trying to clean! (Or lack therof) worst casino in minnesota, and i live in mahnomen!

The hotel was outdated, unkept, and dirty. Our reservation was canceled without our knowledge Even after we called to confirm and everyone we talked to had no idea what to do or what was going on.

Rooms are ok. I think they are a little due for a renovation as it seems a little dated. Also had a pretty small tv compared to other hotels ive been to. Gambling is fun, lots of new machines. Nice pool area. Their buffett is GREAT!! Its cheap too. Had a great time and will be back.

I lost over $800 of my own money plus $90.00 in comps. Why are machines so tight, let players win a little or they won't come back. Two people on front desk checking people in and 6 people or more deep.

Great casino. Very affordable. It's on the smaller side, but does it well.

Very nice staff!! We stayed in a pet friendly room. Close to exterior door so easy to take the dog out.

I felt very safe. The precautions they are taking for their guests made me feel safe.

Had a wonderful time at the Starship concert. The staff did a great job of responding to any questions we had. Nice venue for a concert.

They have some rude security guards. Good gaming selection.

Their app sucks right now. Shouldn't put an app out until it's good. Small casino, when a poker? Didn't win anything yet but I like the free weekly play and promos good for a subway sandwich.

This will definitely be our last time going to Shooting Star. When we made our reservation I asked for a room in the old hotel as close to the gaming floor as possible as my husband is going in for a knee replacement soon. I was assured that was no problem. When we checked on our room was not only across the street through the skyway but at the end of that wing too. We were told that was all that was available. After a 3 hour drive with another couple to get there we stayed even though we were not happy.
When we turned back the blankets to go to bed the sheets were all blood stained. I called the front desk and asked if someone would come change them. I was told someone would be there quickly. No apology for this.
It took over a half an hour for someone to show up, and then took him over 15 minutes to change the sheets. Again no apology.
All in all this was the absolutely worst time we have ever had at a casino.

Remodeled buffet, selection was limited on Monday night but that is to be expected. Service was good, place was clean and food was hot.

Lots of bonus items while on the bus tour. Place is well laid out. Smoke restaurant has awesome food and service. Friendly staff. Will be back.

Great slots! Great food! Free soda and coffee, plus the bar! And even though smoking is allowed, their filtration is very good you can barely tell!!

Always a good time. All kinds of entertainment. A hotel that has a smoking wing if you like. Truck parking too. They bring in some big names for concerts. Excellent remodeled buffet at Traditions. Also EXCELLENT fine dining at the 218. Service in the Mustang lounge is still lackluster especially on the upper level but is improving.

The place was very clean and festive for the holidays, we got a really nice room with a balcony. We went to a dinner concert that was great.

They have all the new updated machines an amazing mustang lounge you must check it out. I had the burger from Smoke it was succulent and the bbq sauce is a must. The service was great from front desk to the restaurant. Love the place.

Casino was okay hotel was disgusting rooms were filthy. Then staff acted as if we shouldn't complain. They were dirty towels in the room, crumbs in the bed sheets Crumbs from chips in the floor I'm not just a little bit looked as if someone just had a party in there.

Our room stunk strongly of cigarette smoke. Staff was nice and helpful thou.

Always have fun playing here. Service is lacking. Some rooms are under construction so hope they will be nice.

Wonderful place for a gathering, Mustang lounge from Thursday thru Saturday evenings, great restaurants, the smokehouse has amazing food.

Disappointing machines did nothing but take money spoke to several people same results with them only one person on the floor handing out soft drinks

Nice place for a get away. The buffet is great and the karaoke is good to listen to on Saturdays. And if you like to play, the machines are all pretty fun as well. Love it.

Its been a while since we've been there,over a year. They have done a total remodel. Replaced all machines with new energy efficient units. Restaurants are remodeled with totally new menus. Very pleasant surprise.
