I have always enjoyed visiting Shooting Star. Sometimes I win; sometime not, but that's gambling. Every month I get an email with free money to entice me to come and play, a coupon for a free 2 night stay and a $10-$15 coupon for a meal regardless of which restaurant I choose. True they are not the top of the line room but they are clean and free. Staff even found a wheelchair for my friend. She had crutches but it's a big place to hobble around on crutches. They even allow me to upgrade if I want to pay the difference. Called and reserved the room a week in advance, who ever took the call was pleasant and eager to have us come and stay. I thought for sure we would be restricted to a week day, surprisingly we got a weekend reservation. Must be some hidden fees? Nope checked out owing nothing. Only stayed in the hotel once but the staff was great and only took a few minutes to check in. Most of theses go unused because it's a long drive but still worth the trip when I do go. We have Dakota Magic Casino 18 miles from home and I refuse to spend a single dime there. Might as well mail them the money and save gas and time. At least I have a chance at Shooting Star!***** I don't understand why so many people have complaints. We've been there several times (just didn't stay overnight every time) and haven't experienced any of the issues others have had. It's okay if they don't visit again because that leaves more chance for me to win.

Smokey and not inviting. When i compare it ti lake millac casino...it is cold and not welcoming. Husband said food is ok. Buffet was 25.00 per person. We said no.

Came here for the all you can eat seafood buffet on Friday. I love the food selections they have, especially the Alaskan crab legs, which are very delicious. Highly recommend and most definitely will come back again.

Great place with a great staff and the food is wonderful.

So, tried to eat here on a Monday. The buffet is closed and they have about 2 people working at the Smokehouse restaurant. Waited 45 minutes to get in and about that to get food. Just a suggestion, if you close a restaurant have enough people working at the one that is open. The wait is unacceptable. Poor management...

Mediocre at best. However, relative to other casino's in the Surrounding areas , it is fantastic.

Terrible place to win for the middle to lower class. Also drawings are fixed and security treats you like your a criminal if you make 25000 or less.

I come here every year on my birthday. It's my favorite place to go! I've never had any issues here and my family lives close by. So win win for me.

Went to the 2one8 to eat, Monica has been our waitress for years. We sat done and she couldn't take our order as the next table was for the other waitress. We go there to eat and we requested her and she said her boss wouldn't allow it. We left and went to the buffet (down graded) as really none of the restaurants are that great anyway. Whoever the boss is in 2one8 needs a talking to. Won't go there as long as those shenanigans is going on.

Everything's pretty high priced not to mention their machines don't pay out you can spend hundreds of dollars and still not win anything. The food is really good though if you want to just go for good food.

Too many machines shut down for Covid-19 safety measures. They take your temperature, drivers license and phone number before allowed in, also wrist band to show you went through the extra security. Also no smoking to keep masks on! (Appreciated this added comfort level) With all this, open all the machines !

Loved it! Lots of games to play. Restaurant was excellent! Great atmosphere and live music. Definitely going back. Had a great time!

Buffet was terrible!! It was crab and seafood night and the crab was very overcooked, dry, and cold. The crab was obviously not recently cooked or had been reheated numerous times. It's $30 a person for the worst crab you'll ever have. The staff at the desk was not helpful, they we're busy talking about when bingo started. Most of the other food was either overcooked or cold or both. Literally the worst buffet ever and it's good to see all the money they spent upgrading went to a beautiful fireplace. Save your money and frustration!!!!

Service kinda sucks at night was there for 2 1/2 hrs never seen anyone with the drink cart left very thirsty

Great variety of games... excellent staff and location...rooms are standard for a casino...drinks are only 4.25 each which is a damn fine deal if I do say myself...long live Roger!!!

A great place to watch a concert as they have lots of great show on a regular basis, hard to keep up sometimes on the acts they book. You can also see the concerts for a great price! We usually eat at the restaurant or the buffet in the rooms are clean in the staff are friendly.

Their tv's are too loud and no way to turn the volume down. Echo all over hurts my ears. 3:30 am was awakened by it from another room. Annoying

I didn't lose and I didn't win. Also I am disappointed that I couldn't get promos like everyone was talking about. Apparently if you're not a regular playing person / customer which I am not I don't live near the casino so I don't go there often, you don't get the regular promos that everybody else gets. This is a very big disappointment you think they would work the other way completely and try to entice the ones that don't come as often just saying though .

Loved the Mustand Lounge! Servers could have sold alot more drinks, but they are very slow!

Not the best hotel I've stayed at but not the worst. At least its clean.

This is a great spot to take a 2 day vacation. The whole experience is just like a mini getaway. Their are a wide variety of slot machines and online poker. The dealers are very friendly and always make the experience better. The mustang Sally bar is very fun! You get to sing and watch karaoke with friends and family. The food here has consistently gotten better year after year. I personally really enjoy their quick cheeseburgers though. There greasy and tasty! The hotels are pretty descent but nothing fancy. It can be a long walk to your room but its not a big deal. Finally they have a pool and hot tub. Just the icing on the cake for a great getaway.

It was the worst Hotel stay i've ever experienced in all my days! The people in the next room were all drunk and fighting, so I made the Hotel employees aware and they sent 4 security guards TO MY ROOM! They were upset with me and didn't say anything to the next room where there was slamming up against the wall, woman crying and swearing. Then again at 4 am!Smh. Worst stay ever!

Did alright gambling here. Large variety of slot machines, smoking side takes up 2/3 of the casino and is definitely smoky. They have decent live bands and draw a big crowd. Buffet is on the low side of mediocre.

I never went over there so I'll give it a load rating of 2

On the small side for a casino. Only two Black Jack tables open so had to wait a while for seats to open up.

Room was clean, the hot was good. The buffet was okay but priced High I thought but the turkey dinner at the other restaurant was excellent and price right

They seem to be doing a very good job of keeping staff and patrons safe during this Covid pandemic. Cleaning, masks, etc.

Very clean, nice casino. HUGE! Lots of new machines, friendly staff, loved the live music, great bar service and several food choices.

Ordered concert tickets by phone the day they came out. Also booked a room same day( $165 ) overpriced!!! When we checked on that night we were 3 Rooms away from sleeping on HWY 59!!!!!! Brought 4 other people with us,and talked them into eating there at the buffet. They weren't excited about paying $75 per couple for the crab leg buffet but we all did. NO silverware was ready, no little butter dishes and poor quality crab legs. Will NEVER do it again. We will go to Dakota Magic crab legs are large and always good for less money

The pay out was terribly. When I got the bonus round on one of the machines I won exactly nothing, not one red cent, $0.00 Same thing happened with my husband $0.00 on a machine he played. It was just a horrible gambling experience. Won't go back, we threw our cards away.

It's ok but I wish it was easier to win instead losing more. They control the wins

Very helpful staff that helped me out of a bind. I was going to cash a check and the check had a different address on it so I was stuck there with no money for gas and it was almost time the c-store to close. So I missed the c-store and went and had Brittney Cox help me out with the building maintenance man who helped me out with enough gas to get home. I am very greatful for these people who helped a person in need. Thank you very much!

I loved that it was non smoking, they had live music, variety....but I was not able to enjoy as much because I was still in pain from surgery. But over all it was nice and fun.

Its been a blast being there but there are a lot of dusturbances that have been going on there too many causes to be made as much fun that people see there but so far its been all good

Fun place but if you are trying to sleep in the star dust wing of the hotel that is, good luck. Walls are paper thin, very noisy.

Cant get a drink. All drink stations are closed, but you can go to any gas station and get fountain drinks yourself

The casino is ok .We went to a wedding in the casino in the banquit hall and they did a real nice job of decorating and serving food was excellant and the bar was great. The motel needs to be upgraded but the staff did a great job.

Enjoy going there, just to get away. The only thing that bothers us is the smoking at the casino. We do go to the non smoking area but there's a limited number of good machines there.

Absolutely disgusting!!! Rooms were so dirty. First room had hair everywhere and food on the floor and caked with dust. Sheets had hair on them and just smelled like filth. Second room wasn't much better. Put it this way, we slept with our shoes on and on top of the mattress. FYI...bring lots of alcohol so you can just pass out!

We are at Smoke food was good but the service could use some help. Casino floor is large and they now have someone actively asking if you want bar drink which is nice.

Its ok. Some of the employees seem to hate their job and take it out on the customers. I had a bad experience in the Deli. An employee literally was half-way yelling at me for coming in too close to closing.

Casino was a great time! Although, the hotel needs many upgrades. Had the buffet in the past which was good. We had the deli this time and that needs major attention as well, slow lines and dirty.

The machine 's were a bit tight the food was Excellent there staff were ver nice ! !

The rooms are immaculate at the hotel and good certainly very good. You don't have to gamble to enjoy the place with live music on weekends , a fabulous swim pool, gigantic tv in lounge which features specials on Game Nites
and great service.

They lost a bunch of money due to the pandemic so it was hard to see any kind of a win or profit.

Hotel room was fine, but it only took 2 hours after check in, a talk with the manager, & finally, finally getting $30 off of your room after them mentioning they couldn't do that, to finally them telling us or room was ready. During that 2 hour wait, many people were told their rooms were not ready yet, they didn't have a reservation, or they had smoking when they wanted non smoking.

Went to the restaurant, Smoke which was very good, but there was 2 items on the menu which we were told were no longer available.

This is tough to review. The new buffet is great but prices went up. The bar is a fun place to hang out at up untill 9:00pm then it gets full of drunk people. The games are fun but don t ever expect to win. They don t pay out ever. But still a fun place to go when it s cold out and you want to do something. We will keep going for the crab legs. Just wish it was not so rough around the edges.
