Stayed here twice over the last 3. Years, location is perfect with the easy walk to Hell s Kitchen, Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller, tube is just down stairs
Great location, small room, no microwave, staff very friendly and helpful. The pic is just outside of the Sheraton
Rude reception, did not satistfy customer requests. Caused a lot of unneeded stress. Hotel room itself was ok, but for the $1200+ a night I expected better service.
Hotel was lovely. I attended a meeting there and the building was pristine.
Great location and very professional staff. Unfortunately we found the room small, dark and in moderate disrepair. The little sofa was threadbare on the seams and the soap dish in the shower was moldy
Good location and updated rooms. My only complaint is it is very crowded.
Beautiful hotel and great location. Good staff and service.
Emblematic hotel elegant and super located ..... very efficient super modern elevators.
Stayed here while exploring NY on vacation. Exquisite hotel in a great location. Staff is professional and kind, rooms are updated and well-appointed.
Big Sheraton. Fine if you have sheraton points and you are into that system, but not especially interesting. Impressively large, and the gym is top rate, but the bar overcharges for mediocre cocktails, and you have to walk a bit to get to interesting restaurants. (Nearly everything in the immediate area is geared for a big lunch rush, and is as boring as it is expensive. Walk a few blocks towards Hell's Kitchen for better eats).
I stayed here for a conference on June 1-2 & 3-6, 2019. I walked into my hotel room and an unknown cell phone was connected to my charger on the nightstand. I thought someone was hiding somewhere in my room. I panicked started to run out. As I opened the door, a male housekeeper rushed into my room uninvited to disconnect his phone. I was confused and frightened. He said he was sorry he thought I had checked out, but all my suitcases and belongings were spread throughout my room, including the charger he so conveniently connected his cell phone to. I packed up my belongings and checked out. I spoke to the front desk and they had security take me back upstairs to look for my ID that I could not find and to write up a report. During my room search the security guard totally dismissed me and the situation, stating that he has charged his phone in guests rooms before and the situation was no big deal, making excuses for the housekeeper. He stated that he didn't think it was necessary to write a report. I was horrified at his blatant disregard and unprofessionalism for the safety of hotels guests. I swear I have PTSD now when staying in hotels, wondering who is entering my room and going through my things.
Our suite was clean, spacious, beautiful. The tub was big and could fit two in it. The service was excellent .
Great location. Amazing facilities, a very complete gym and a nice customer service from the staff.
Excellent conference venue. Clean and well managed.
It's very clean hotel. I really like it even though I didn't lodging in it . I just was visiting friend of mine
Beautiful, great convention space, terrific location, friendly, helpful staff, but tricky to find ones way around and elevators can be confusing.
Love this hotel and the hospitality. Especially wanted to thank Elizabeth O Connell who I was fortunate to speak to regarding a concern prior to check in. She was so helpful and nice and really went out of her way to make our yearly stay, even better! It s to hard to stay anywhere else when this hotel has such great staff! Great job!
Had an amazing time, I'm so ready to go back to New York city and stay @ this Sheraton time square hotel. Customer service was excellent..
My family booked a surprise honeymoon for me for the weekend. Sheraton took their $750 for a room we haven't even stayed. Very disappointing customer service. I didn't know big international hotel chain like sheraton turned into bunch of crooks. My honeymoon turned into a nightmare because of Shkaya, (the manager at the front desk Sherton NYC).Try different hotel unless you want to get robbed. They took our $750 and didn't provide anything in return.
Beware of these crooks, This entire establishment is corrupted. Not all NYC hotels are corrupted like this Sheraton, there are many honest, professional hotels that actually care about their guests. Consider yourself warned.
Quite old interiors...maybe the hotel needs a make-over.
Glad I have an apartment in NYC because I would not stay here
Clean modern and comfortable big chain hotel. The garage next door is doing some renovations until March 2016 as per the receptionist which you can hear in the lobby, but luckily not on my 8th floor room. EVERYTHING costs money though. $4 per bag for bag checking seems excessive after a stay but I guess it is New York.
This is what u can have for breakfast), also other bakery food.
Good place to stop for a holiday, the Times Square is about 5 min walking distance
Dirty, hair on towels, pets are allowed, it is not known if the rooms are disinfected afterwards, if you walk barefoot, you do not know if you walk on urine of dog or cat. The service is not friendly. THEY CHARGE $70.00 per WIFI in the room per day.!!!!!! amazing
Great sized rooms and decent amenities. Only knock is that there's no personal connection with the staff. You don't see too many of them while you're hear unless you seek them out.
We were able to get a room with a great view. The elevators were super tricky/fun!
Great hotel with close proximity to times square. Have been there for a business meet. The staff at the ballroom service need to get groomed. They were not as polite as you would expect to see.
The hotel is ok. The staff are very friendly and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom smelled of mildew as did the towels, I didn't want to use them. The elevator system was being revamped and was it took a while to get an elevator.
Great location, close to all the happenngs in New York City. Rooms are always clean and well kept. Elevators were super slow this trip but were all in working order.
Super clean. Professional front desk. Modern amenities.. Affordable process for NY
Enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and room was nice.
Breakfast is acceptable. Good location. But very noisy. Walls are made of paper.
The hotel is located well central but at the same time far from the bustling Time Square. You can walk to downtown New York or the central park in minutes.
Perfect stay, great location, good service, rooms are perfect for a good nights sleep.
We stayed at the Sheraton as a participant in a conference that was in the hotel. I estimate we spent 1-1.5 hours in some kind of line on our first day - whether we were waiting to check in or waiting to check our bags since our room was not ready or waiting to pick up our bags to take them to our room after a second time waiting to check in. The hotel was extremely understaffed for check in and bag check. Seemed like a few of the staff just walking around the place could have let people in line know that the rooms weren't ready or offered to take bags when they saw a huge line forming. Waiting for elevators is also quite a drama. What a shame as the hotel is in a fantastic location. Won't be staying here again.
Ask for a blanket for 2 hours. they said they will send to us but they did not.
Good location with lots of rooms. This hotel generally tends to be reasonably priced (for NY central location) and has good restaurants and club lounge in the 1st floor.
I stayed at the hotel for two nights in the middle of a week. At checkin, the line was long; yet, moved quickly. The desk attendant was friendly and pleasant. She didn't recognize my SPG status in any way (not that I expect much).
The elevators are the new system of selecting your floor on a touch screen and receiving you elevator assignment. Although I like this system, there seems to be a need for a bit more research. For instance, when you walk up to the screen, you will often touch the screen to wake it. Still oftentimes, it wakes just before you touch it. This causes you to touch a selection. This usually caused me to touch the meeting rooms selection. So, you ride stops needlessly on the second floor. I was not the only one, as the elevators almost always stopped on the second floor, in error. In addition, you have to allow 15min to get an elevator during certain peak times.
The meeting room was clean, quiet, and the temperature was appropriate (even at capacity).
The room was quiet, clean, and adequate. The sheets were clean and without stains. I can say the same for the towels. The room furniture and carpet was clean and free of stains. I never had any issues with hot water or water pressure in the shower. Although I elected not to have my room cleaned, the housekeeping staff was always pleasant in the hallway. The wifi was substandard. I often couldn't connect in my room.
Overall, I had a good stay and I would stay there in the future.
don't ask for a times square view, the rooms facing ts are tiny. we arrived with a small child and left in a huff!
Outstanding you name it great service great rooms great extras
Read until the end. I was worried about my stay at the Sheraton. In preparation for my trip to NYC I called the hotel to confirm my reservation and ask for any upgrade since it was for my honeymoon. I wasn't too happy with the customer service on the phone. I spoke with the front desk manager, Alex, and told him about my experience and he told me he'd take care of me once I arrived. When I arrived I got placed in a handicap room with a broken fridge, hairdryer, and curtains I couldn't close. I informed the front desk in the morning, and wanted the message to be passed on to Alex. My wife and I returned from site seeing, and we found out that we were upgraded to a corner suite with the view is time square and the water. We'll be here for 4 nights, and my wife and I are super excited to basically be in such a huge space on the middle of time square. I am writing this review as I currently am staying in the hotel, and I am sure the rest of my stay will be just an awesome as today has been.
Great location and even better staff!
All the associates I interacted with were wonderful and it seems like a very well run property. Even though we came in on an early flight and just wanted to check our luggage, Akada at the front desk took good care of us and made sure we had a room. To top it off she sent up chocolate covered strawberries and champagne! Being a Marriott employee myself I don t expect special service like that; but for her to remember one check in out of hundreds was very thoughtful and I wanted to make sure she was recognized.
Nice but gigantic hotel. Best to stay if you're a preferred SPG guest. Otherwise check in waits can be long and you may not get upgraded room. Club lounge is very cool.
Restaurants, bar and gym are closed. Quiet and comfortable. Rooms are on the smaller side of New York average.
Arguably the worst hotel in Marriott s portfolio. Every person at the front desk was dismissive, rude and unhelpful. Rooms were small & smelled. The shower wouldn t get warm. Iron didn t work. What the room lacked in features, I hoped was made up for by the amenities and service; I couldn t have been further from the truth. The only reason this hotel is worth 1 star is the 10 peloton bikes in the larger-than-average gym.
Good location if visiting the tourist and theater area, but don't want to be smack in the middle of Times Square. Hotel is kept nicely but the double beds feel like twins and they are not at all comfortable. Good lighting in the bathroom though!
I have received inconsistent service from this hotel. Been here twice as a SPG Platinum member, received an upgrade once. The front desk can get very busy and doesn't care if you are a valuable long time customer it seems. The location is nice, you can see the time square and central park from the lounge or a room facing that direction. This hotel does cost a lot of points, so I will probably not stay here any more as I can find better SPG hotels in NYC.
Great service and the rooms are clean and cozy. The elevators are quick, but the keypad system can get hectic when there are plenty of riders.
I ve been a costumer there for years, but lately it s been disturbing ! Everywhere I go in the hotel there s employees having meetings in front of guests !?? These managers or whatever they are are scolding these other employees like they were on a slave plantation !! Meanwhile these poor people are working their behinds off ! This angered me to see the way these people are treated. Never again will I stay there and I will be making movements to get this resolved someway or another. I m a international artist and will be boycotting this slave plantation !!!
Pushy bell hop wanted a tip even though he didn't do anything.
Such great service i really felt welcome! The rooms are super clean, you can really see that they put the effort in:) amazing
Excellent location although rooms a bit old in design
Great very convenient to everything and transportation
Always very good, location, rooms, I suggest getting the Club room which gives right to the lounge at breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a good buffet. Worth the difference in price
My mother and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. I could not believe how horrible the service was at this hotel. my first night after arriving (in the middle of a snow storm) I went downstairs for a smoke. On my way, I asked the bartender in the lobby for a cup of water, and his response was, "OH NO, I already said last call!" I understand last call as much as the next guy, since I am a bartender for a luxury hotel in New Orleans. However the bar was still full of people and I couldn't believe I was just spoken to in this way. I went outside and had my smoke, only to observe the bartender handing a women with a beer a cup of water. I walked back up to the bar and asked again with $5 dollars in my hand and the bartender handed me a cup of tap water (which was all i was looking for) and I left him his tip. Now the next night I returned to my room with a take out order from a restaurant and realized I needed a fork. Shouldn't be difficult at a hotel right?! WRONG! I called guest services and requested a fork and a napkin to my room. A solid hour went by (remember, I work in a hotel so I understand busy nights and patience). I called downstairs again, and asked about my fork and napkin and the the person on the phone told me it was floor cleaning time, so there was no one to send a fork to my room. Frustrated and starving at this point, I went downstairs and asked the door man (yes I know this is not his job, but he was the ONLY person I could find to ask) and he immediately found a fork! Go figure! I was so horrified to know that I stayed and spent $500 a night for a hotel that cared about their guests so little. I will NEVER go back and will make sure no friend/ co worker / or any of my VIP guests ever stay there while in NYC.
Queen size room. Even though I thought I paid for king size. It was small room like every other hotel. Traditional room, nice coffee they provided Starbucks Coffee which was good but didn't taste as good as we thought. nice a/c system. floors were quiet and great stay for us. I definitely will be returning one day. Btw fyi you will have to book in advance because prices are pretty high for this hotel and rooms sell out very quick.
We stayed here for 2 nights in June. The reason it got 1 star was the horrible phone customer service. We were charged extra for about $80. We called probably 10 times since about the bill. However either they would put us on hold for hours or they would say that they didn t see any record showing of the extra charge, or they would transfer us around to another number or department and nothing got done. It s sad that we have a bank statement showing the amount and who charged us but the hotel themselves couldn t find that on their system. It s also very obvious to us that they just wanted to get us off the phone because they would kept asking is there anything else i can help you with today , and they would constantly cut us off. Very disappointed!
The staff at the hotel was very professional and made the check-in and check-out processes easy. My room was very nice as well. I thought the pillows were wonderful!
It was okay, even though I found a bug on one of the pillows
Bathroom was tiny. Tons of hidden fees. Valet parking is $65 for 24hrs with an outside contractor. However around the block is 24hr parking for $45. The food was NOT good. An egregious amount of gratuity is added without your knowledge and you you have a $25 charge added to your room that must be spent and is nonrefundable.
Amaaing location but small rooms always busy but good conceirage ans stuff in restaurants few of them are rude
Very nice hotel, good service. On the other hand, the elevator system is currently in evaluation period and causes waiting times.
Always a great stay, whether for vacation or business. The location is perfectly nestled between Central Park and Times Square.
Good: Clean, good sized rooms with higher end fixtures.
Bad: No microwave available in the building and a fridge will cost you over $40 with tax.
Bottom line: great price for NYC in a perfect location
Great location, nice enough rooms, could use updating, lighting in rooms a bit dim.
Nice location. Close to times square and staff were friendly
I ve stayed at this hotel several times. Each time, I made a reservation for a room with a king bed, and each time it wasn t available. On one occasion, they put me in a room with a pull down bed until I complained. Also, be aware that the so called Superior and Premier rooms are exactly the same rooms as the Traditional rooms, just on higher floors. Not worth the extra money. And now the hotel is charging a $25 Destination Fee , as if you were going to a resort hotel. Total ripoff! There are many other hotels in midtown Manhattan that are comparable in price and a better value.
Beautiful hotel very clean, trained and friendly staff, the only flaw not in the least be careful to check the credit card after check out you will most likely find yourself charged to the 400/600 dollars extra account. I reported them to the carabinieri when they returned to Italy, and after a few months from the dispute the money was credited back to my account.
The phone staff on the lost and found dept was extremely rude and refuse to help. I expect a better service if you are charging me $400+ a night. I will never stay here again.
Lived here for a week. Very friendly staff and everything works as expected.
The family room was small to say the least and the beds could have been better.
The facilities we used were good, the bars were good with friendly staff
The staff we spoke to were very friendly and really helpful from the concierge to the doorman, the bar staff and the cleaners
We enjoyed our stay apart from the small family room and beds,so if you are above 5'8' try another hotel with wider and longer beds.
A lovely hotel with a nice attached conference center. Although the room was small, the space was all we needed. Free WiFi.
