It is definitely a landmark, but there are too many homeless people and two crowded at times.

Beautiful plaza in the heart of the city. Lots of shops and bars all around.

I love going to Union Square during the Christmas holiday time and seeing the decorations and watching all the people having a nice time. It's my favorite place to visit during the Christmas holiday here in San Francisco.

A nice square in the middle of the tourist/downtown area. I did not understand the buzz behind it though. It's pretty average both in terms of activities happening there and the cosmetics. And as with most places in the SF downtown, there can be aggressive protestors, evangelists, homeless people etc, often all at the same time.

I was walking through the square one day and had an amazing contact high from all the Mary Jane. The garage parking garage is super shady.

This used to be a wonderful place but now it's overrun by homeless people. Construction ongoing for years doesn't help.

Took a free walking tour with Jose Reyes . It was really cool
He was the best tour guide. So nice ,very informative. Only a couple hours long. I would go again.

A SF must see... Louis Vitton, Tiffany&Co., Gucci, Neiman Marcus, Hermez, Chanel and more... Also hit madien lane.

Cool v much union but don't confuse for an onion u Dumbo bunion! Try eating some scallion before u name some papillon! That means butterfly in French go sit on a bench u can't play in today's game sorry!

Union Square is all decorated for the Holiday's with a huge tree in the middle of the square, but is the most impressive at night! All the palm trees surrounding the square are lit up.......yep, just like a xmas tree!

Great variety of stores. A popular place to visit in San Francisco. A lot of tourists. A must see. Make sure to always walk in groups for safety.

Love this place, come hang and eat lunch and check out the random happenings that go on all the time.

Loved walking around Union Square. It was beautiful with the Christmas tree and ice rink.It was also the starting point for all the city tour buses which was pretty convenient.

Lively and social atmosphere. Kind people and inclusive feeling!

It's amazing, there's is so much to do. I suggest taking your group of friends here.

This is the place to be over the holidays. There is a Christmas tree, Christmas music playing, and ice skating. There's also lots of shopping across the street in every direction.

Beautiful park, love the decorations. Covid-19 season is upon us right now so most of the things are fenced off. But still a great park, go when the world isn't ending.

Ugh, a two hour birthday dinner at Cheesecake Factory. They do have Manhattans, though.

One of main tourist shopping area in SF. Great place for locals, tourist, visitors to see the area of goods. Events are held here often. Ice skating in the winter. Singing and dancing through out the year. There is Old school swing dancing that happens on a monthly bases. Cafe in above ground in the corner area and a garage in the underground. The city really tries to keep this area nice, safe, and clean.

Not a great destination most of the year, but a delight over the holidays.

Normally beautiful downtown SFO. Now under construction, but still a great place to sit down and have a coffee to relax from a shopping immersion.

Fantastic place has loads of shops and easy to find. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I didn't feel that safe there .

Despite the density of buildings in cities, I love seeing that places like this are preserved. It's a great place in the heart of the city that offers space to walk, sit, enjoy the weather etc.
It's also a meeting spot for many attraction like sight seeing tours etc.

It's really pretty during the night in the winter, especially with the ice skating rink that was added there.

Big Bus "hop on hop off" doesn't worth it... take Uber or rent a bicycle instead

Pretty area, currently decorating it for Christmas. Street performers are great!

Shops, boutiques of high fashion brands, cafes, restaurants, Apple Store are all located around the square. It's a must visit place in San Fransisco or I might say, you'd better stay over at the hotel around this square if you wanna enjoy SF..

Very nicely planned out square, heart paintings slash sculptures. One of the paintings is done by Tony Bennett. The big memorial is tastefully done as well, but the only knock is how ads take up the space. For a public space, advertisements dry up the experience when it is a whole setup.

Love the cosmopolitan, euro-urban ambiance feeling.. plenty of coffee shops and high end shops!

Lots of stores and hotels in this are. Great views of the architecture of this great city.

Shop or Hang
Pretty cool place to walk around, no need to really shop unless of course you want to. They have almost any designer brand here.You can hope on the cable car and see the rest of the town. I bet Christmas here is amazing.

If you are a tourist Visiting San Francisco, you must see Union Square The great place for shopping it has major anchor stores. Around the Square Macy's sacks and Super upscale stores as well. Like Louis Vuitton Saks 5th Avenue and Neiman Marcus. Very nearby Is Jimmy Choo and the Chanel store. Even if you aren't inclined to buy anything at any of those upscale stores. Always quite intriguing to just take a look to see what they sell. During the holidays. The center of Union Square is decorated nicely with a large tree and a menorah and it even has a skating rink.

No parking spot at all if you get there after 9 am, very busy traffic with a lot of noise

Union square is so beautiful during the winter/ holiday season. The spirit and joy of xmas all around you with ice skating, beautifully decorated xmas trees, and iconic SF buildings. A must see!

Very impressive Capitol building. Loved the tour. Wear a sweater because it's kept very cold in the building.

A very mixed spot at the heart of downtown San Francisco. Midweek you can find artists in the middle of the square, you can sit at one of the two coffee shops in Union Square, and walk around the many high-end expensive shops nearby. Worth noting that the area has very mixed local community including those who are less fortunate wandering around. Also worth noting that there are a lot of people who try and sell you tickets to tours and other tourist attractions.

Not as great as it was. The city is rife with homelessness and drugs. Wish there was more to help

Whole family can enjoy here. Place is very livrly. There is an ice rink here where one can pay and do skating.

Overrated ! Too many beggers and homeless people bothering. Just 1-2 musicians even on the music fest day. 2 good coffee shops with limited beer options. The surrounding market places are nice and theres lot to explore and shop. The square itself is nothing more than a landmark in usual days.

Liked it and also liked the Nike SF beside it So big Bought a Jordan there

It's such a Holiday Festive place. Check out the Macy's Windows with the kittens and puppies from the SF SPCA.

Best of the Shopping options available here along with big names like Macys, Nordstrom, rack, Aeo, A&F, Victoria secret, Uniqlo to name few.. Westin being on the main front.. this is hub of SF's shopping addresses.

This place is so beautiful and right now the ice rink is open. Only $18 dollars to ice skate for 90 minutes. Also the big Christmas tree is up. Love this time of the year.

Good shopping with all the best stores within walking distance.

It's ok. The constant smell of marijuana really takes back from being able to enjoy the city.

Really nice park. Close to many many shop and restaurant! Beautiful view and perfect spot to make a picnic and appreciate the sun!
But it have some homeless walking and speaking alone!
