Great area for shopping and it is beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Fun tourist spot with large Christmas tree! Ice skating rink nearby
As a faux photographer who enjoys tormenting his friends to go to the city with him at 5 in the morning, this place is absolutely wonderful. Closely located to the bay bridge makes for an intersection between land and sea make for awesome architectural photography. A perfect combination of designed architecture and natural phenomenons such as low fog and singular nimbus rain clouds makes for fascinating landscapes. A heartbreaking disparity between the vast homeless problem and the most wealthy makes for interesting a political satire. If I could choose a super power, it would be the ability to teleport here at will.
Union Square is great for meeting up large groups or friends as it's in the middle of everything and can be found easily. Lots of shops close by, and on the dead I went there artist old with some of your work on display which I really loved. There's a little cafe that serves wine, which is great if you want to take a break from all the walking around town.
Made up of large department stores, Union Square is a shopper s dream with tonnes of big name brands, outlets and coffee shops. Very busy, with trams and cable cars regularly running through the area. Macys, Bloomingdale s and Nordstrom are possibly the three largest stores. Union Square isn t the best touristy place to visit if you re here to visit San Fransisco, but it is certainly the beating heart of the hustle and bustle of the Downtown area.
Busy place. Nice buildings and shops. For me though something has to be done about the homeless. It seems to be a very big problem. Every 50yards i was asked for money or food. Not nice to see. Especially when you are on holiday walking around to see the sights. Surprised somewhere like san fran has not got on top of this awful situation.
Lots of high end shops. Centrally located and with in walkong distance to more shopping, food and punlic transportation or a public parkong garage. Very pretty and bustling.
Nice place with the Apple Store and Macy's very close to all big shops.
Shops and restaurants and bars and stores and stuff.... oh so many stuff.
Picturesque also!
Its union square a lively area with many things to do around it
It almost felt like Times Square NY at New Year Eve, a bit small scale, but without the hassle of tightened security, quite jam packed, walking distance to most of the popular places for downtown sightseeing. Free evening parking would be tricky but garage or street parking available closeby, or just go on feet.
Beautiful place to visit with lost of shops and restaurant around/ close to the cable cars stop.
It looks nice, but there are a lot homeless and construction around the area.
Lovely place to spend some time in the heart of San Francisco downtown
Good place, do not go to it on Sunday or at night , The places around it are very ordinary
Great shopping and 5 diamond service..just what a lady loves. Visited Cartier and Jessica was amazing and they did no stereotype judgment
Beautiful, safe, relaxing watching skaters and smiles
Packed to the gills on Saturdays. Union square has Really built up & Nice..!
Fun during Christmas time, but always worth a visit all year around.
This is my stop when I ride the trolley from the Embarcadero. Great way to get around and get me to where I need to go. Union Square is surrounded by all the stores I love shopping in. Plus easy access to St. Patrick's church.
Neiman Marcus was the best store in Union Square to browse in, and to get in the Holiday mood right after Thanksgiving. The dramatic atrium with the tree facing the outdoor tree in Union Square was fabulous!
It was a nice change to IHOP. They do have a nice range of items for the breakfast buffet. Not too expensive for what you get with it either.
Ice skating, tourists, coffee and shopping. Good & Bad of San Francisco.
Nice people watching place but has a different feeling with the lockdown.
We were there for the lighting of the Christmas tree tonight. Enjoyed my time on Union Square. Really made me appreciate the quality of my life after seeing so many homeless people on the streets on the way there. Hope the next year will be better and brighter for all!
Great spot for Pokemon hunting and people watching. Giant Christmas tree and ice skating rink now. Frequent site of protests. Ringed by high end shopping and hotels.
Downtown area of San Francisco with most of the well known brand shops and Department stores. Nice square with many events.
Very nice place to go with friends.... If you have friends. Otherwise it is a bit lovely because everybody is there with.... Friends
Located in the very center of San Francisco, this historic square lost all of its charm when The City redesigned and renovated the square in the 1990's. it used to be full of charm with beautiful landscaping. Not anymore. Now it's cold and barren. What a shame.
A square in downtown. Strange heart sculptures. Not many weirdos around here considering location.
This is Union at Xmas time!
As an Italian I felt like to be in an American movie. Exactly what I was expecting.. San Francisco s main square isn t as big as Time s square but different!
Packed with traffic jam on its borders while exciting Xmas spirit at its core: not very big Xmas tree and a ice rink.
Scenographic seen from the top of besides buildings, surrounded by iconic shops like Apple store, Tiffany, Victoria s secrets...Marcy s and Gucci among others.
Too useful the parking lot underneath!
Cable cars pass by and everyone seems apparently happy.
Such an amazing places. It is an a captive audience and the price are up double or more. And not a public toilets. You have to go to the shopping centre to use there toilets. For the money you pay for the drinks in the square.
The heart of San Francisco. You can have the cheesecake from cheesecake factory overlooking the union squre.
Major tourist attraction with all the shopping and food places you can imagine. Location is convenient to Bart. I love eating at The Cheesecake Factory while I'm there. It's definitely a place for tourists to visit, but not for locals who hate the crowds.
Always something going on in the square. Outdoor ice skating during the winter months.
A great place to people-watch what a beautiful blend of people
Nice experience, great stores. The area is very nice but be aware of homeless people around the plaza, some can be intimidating.
Its a place, its ok. Parking, lots of stores, people, and if you dont wonder too far not so much TL mixed in. Pretty close to bart and a short walk from so much more. Great eats in all directions, sights, and events. Check this out to start with shopping if you dont already know.
Ultimate place to stay. Homely food, huge Gym, Spa, Good Night terrace view...I enjoyed the place.
A popular tourist attraction with lots of events happening at night.
Great place to soak in the sun, sip at the cafe, take in the atmosphere and indulge in seasonal festivities. Rich with history, a call to war and tourism.
Very fun place to sit at a cafe and watch people go by. There is a very diverse and interesting set of tourists and citizens here. It feels very safe and is nicely designed.
If you love shopping then you heard me right. All top fashion brands and affordable fashion brands are available here. Macy's is also there...
Beautiful day in SF. COVID-19 makes things look more sad than they need to.
San Francisco is my second favourite city in USA after San Diego
Visited while we were traveling. Easy entrance to public parking and things to do within walking distance.
Christmas time is my favorite time to go there. All the Christmas lights, music, and skating rink make it a better experience.
Nice venue .. great central area ... best view from cheesecake factory ... brilliant
Wow.. I was blown away by the number of people and stores and art work. I was also wondering how they possibly drive.. Lots of horns blowing and music playing on corners of the street were awesome! I would love to visit again but I wouldn't live there unless you have full pockets.. Cigarettes are 15.00 water in a bottle is 5.00 and a studio apartment is around 1000-1500. The city is everything you could want and amazing to be involved in the excitement which is everywhere! I would only complain about is the homeless people that are on every block and it's not to safe in the evening. I also was amazed at how fast and thick the fog rolls in... but soon I understood that it would make everything damp or feel like it.. But the experience and things too do I definitely put it on my favorites list.
