Nice plaza to hang out at. It's really pretty when decorated during Christmas.

A good place to look around and contribute to local vendors. I enjoy coming here to get a little bit of everything. From sea food to sour dough bread to artisan chocolate.

Typical shopping place. If you enjoy crowds, visit this place. We did see a woman walking around with a cat just sitting on her head. Couldn't get a pic though.

Very lively place. Lots of events happen here. I attended an Indian festival and also saw a Philippines festival happening here.

Wish they would put more events here, especially during the summer. They should learn from the ones that didn't go as well and make the future organizers of events improve. Such a great space for locals and tourists. See a lot of security and police so believe safety is good.

Pretty cool, lots of stores nearby if you like upend shopping.

It was awesome so far the whole trip here in San Francisco was absolutely relaxing

Wonderful place to be there always. Parking is a bit problem but get down somewhere and check for availability in parkings like macys etc.

Had an ice rink when we visited during Christmas and had a lot of Christmas festivities with a beautiful Christmas tree.
Is central to all the shopping in San Francisco and is a great place to meet.

Had a great time in the city and parking at Union Square is pretty cheep as well as convenient.

Pretty area to visit in SF - always crowded. Parking underneath is relatively easy. All the shops surrounding are very nice. Of course, when it's really crowded it's difficult to move around - get we always manage to despite the mess of people. Definitely a place you should visit if you are visiting SF if only for an hour.

Nothing open at 10 am and too many homeless. Did not feel safe...

Great for relaxing after like a long walk downtown San Francisco

Very cozy place surrounded by buildings. Often there are someone who is listening to music or dancing. Also many events are held in this place

Great for sightseeing, just don't stay nearby it's not safe for foreign visitors at night. Cheesecake factory a must do.

Super crowded, kind of overrated in my opinion. I've been here many times, it's really just a center for shopping w/ brand name stores. Parking is overhiked and very hard to find. Best you get here by some public transportation! However, really close to different localities such as Chinatown.

Whenever I'm here, I feel like I'm in the heart of the city.

Beautiful hotel everyone was very helpful and all restaurants and bars cafe shopping stores movie theaters were near by walking distance very hip and fun I loved Chinatown

Always delightful. We had a show at Geary and enjoyed the walk through Union, the ice skating and a trip up to the Burger Bar in Macys.

Lots of nice expensive stores. Also lots of homeless. Watch where you step that's not from a dog. They work hard to keep everything clean, so it's not that bad during daylight hours. Just dont go there in the dark

If you like Pokemon GO then play here. Raids have 20 participants at any part of the day. If you like cheesecake then go to the cheesecake factory. I highly recommend if you want cheesecake then only get cheesecake. Don't get a meal and then a cheesecake. I saw no one finish a slice while we were in there and niether did I. I was ashamed in myself but it was soooo rich and tastey. Had it in the morning for breakfast with a coffee. Lovely.

Outdoor and indoor mall and shopping for all. Parking is expensive. Enjoyed the scenery and action all around.

This is definitively a place to visit if you are in San Francisco. It is generally clean(ish) for SF and there are a lot of cool stores around the area. It is usually busy though and may have a bit of homeless people around so keep an eye out.

Of course the high end stores and beautiful city scape make this destination 5 stars. And the historical cable car running through just adds to the essence that makes up San Francisco

Extremely convenient parking garage in the financial district area. Great place to park if you want to go to the surrounding shops and restaurants.

Union Square is the jewel of San Francisco it is a must see in the heart of San Francisco close to everything do you want to do

A perfect spot for enjoying a lively evening with all the decorations and people around you to lift your spirits. Have very good shops around for all the who enjoy shopping.

While on vacation in SF, I remember my dad took us to Union Square, which overlooked the square, to see the heroin addicts to show what drugs can do to somebody.

Small green area in the middle of the city, the square is a great place to rest your feet when you're tired from retail therapy. The square is surrounded by a number of the big retailers. On weekends when it isn't raining, they often out up food stalls, and also encourage local artists to exhibit their works. There are quite a few small eateries in the streets around the square

It's a wonderful plaza. Too bad there are too many homeless nearby.

What a lively place for a Christmas get together.... So many happy faces, shoppers, lovers, families in high spirits!

It's a nice place to go and walk around for a short period of time. It is beautifully lit at night time when the lights are on. Good place to go if you are running short on time.

A wonderful space inside this busy city. A great place to sit, relax, enjoy the street performers and watch the people and the beautiful surroundings. The farmers market is very good - organic produce, greenery, baked goods - highly recommended. The green market is there on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Enjoy!

Busy, not always as clean as it should be, but a good place to hang out in the city core or arrange to meet.

There are better open spaces in SF.

A real slice of San Francisco. Pretty much whatever a tourist (or local) wants including cool views, short walks to all kinds of cool attractions, loads of plays, shopping on a world class level, easy parking etc.

We like the Macy's and if you buy anything get a stamp (in the basement) and get hours of free parking.

This is a beautiful park like space in the centre of downtown San Francisco. A lovely place to eat your lunch on a beautiful day too. You can also view or purchase unique pieces of art that is on display here. On the perimeter there is also a great cafe with lots of outdoor seating so you can sit and absorb the atmosphere

It helds several painting exhibitions amazing art!!

Good place to visit though mostly expensive shops as they are all designer. You can catch the tram and big bus from here too

Overall great public shopping area. Food options get overly crowded and not enough options without walking into "less touristy" blocks of the city. This personally made me feel unsafe at times but I was with another person and we just walked fast.

Lots of rowdy drunks was trying to get into the cheesecake factory and people cut us off a lot ,walking with a stroller and 2 little children was impossible, stay away from this area it sucks

One of the best places in downtown San Francsico. This place is near by many shopping malls. So if you get tired of walking into the malls go out and sit here. See what people do and many events happen in this place so you might know more about the locals there. Oh yeah and especially this place is beautiful when it s time for Christmas. They will have a big Christmas tree in the middle of this place. Night life is pretty good here. Many places to eat in you walk around. Apple store is in the north corner and Macy s store in the south.

Vibrant heart of the city, troubled tenderloin meets trendy troubling financial district, true taste of city life moderated by a bit of bossy security presence you can see a different security person in the giant Apple-store across the street.

Overcrowded sidewalks, not really accessible, because most of the square was taken up by some event, several building constructions or rebuilds around the square. It was just kind of noisy and stressful just to walk through the square.

This was my first time in San Francisco and the park is such a great place to go to eat lunch and people watch. Before your lunch is done you can go across the street and shop a little bit. The park is not the biggest park, but it is big enough to fit a lot of people.

The Garage at Union Square - yes, it is historical...and "needs work" Last time I parked...the lights were not working in the elevators! Imagine walking into a dark, tiny, cramped elevator in the dark.

There is plenty of parking space in the basement of this place. Nice place to hangout.

At the heart of the shopping district Union Square is a beautiful area and provides easy walking access to several places near by.

A variety of shopping and eating places. Quite vibey and alive. Just a pitty the Marriott strikers were on the prowl demabdibg one-job-one-person. Other than that the weather was fabulous and easy access to tour bus depots.

Great location to see so much and there's so much to do...great tourist spot.

Many good shops but too many homeless and crazy people!!! Good shops: Nike, apple, Tiffany, and Barney s.

Too many homeless, pretty dirty, not much police presence. Traffic moved along. Ample parking in structures, reasonable prices.

Surprising number of homeless in this park. They are not aggressive in a dangerous way, but they did tend to get in your path and ask a lot of questions. I would not take my kids here.

Every time a nice place for some pictures. Especially during Christmas season the huge Christmas tree in the center of the place is an eye catcher.
