This is a beautiful place however, I have mixed emotions because, it's a richy rich playground. No average person can afford to shop in the nearby stores so if you see in the park it could be a little bit depressing. I am very sorry to see the gentrification that is occurring daily in San Francisco, when I was a teenager I would ride my bike at Union Square doing all kinds of neat tricks and jumps, but today I don't believe that would be possible where are the kids supposed to play?

Nice public park in the middle of Union Square district. There I left my heart statues in each of the 4 entrances that welcomes you into multi-level park.

There is a outdoor cafe, small patches of green grass, and benches scattered around the park to sit and enjoy. Dogs are welcomed. Flat surfaces make it #accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and walkers.

On top of the Union Street Parking Garage, it is a great meetup location because its right in the middle of everything.

During the Holiday Season annually is also where the temporary ice skating rink is at.

We ate at Cheese Cake Factory at the top of Macy's. Sat outside on a fairly nice December day. They have heat lamps and the plexiglass shelters you from the wind. Great view from the top. As always, the menu is pages and pages of variety to choose from. Cheese Cake is always crowded during the holudays so be prepared to wait up to 40-45 minutes.

Union Square is a truly "interesting" place with truly "interesting" individuals. Mostly it's safe and the art work is cool. Do keep your eyes open while you're here it's on the border of Tenderloin district which is where "interesting" becomes "run away".

It amazes me how in the USA a city can change in atmosphere in merely a matter of blocks. That is the case with Union Square. San Francisco appears clean and high end around this square. With the historic St Francis hotel and The Drake, to the Canadian Saks 5th Avenue and the USA Macy's Department Store - Union Square has something for everyone.

While waiting for a table @ The Cheesecake Factory, I was able to go shopping @ Macy's. I'm not too fond of the Cheesecake Factory's food but I was amongst Good Company. Made it all worth it.

This was a busy little square, I passed through here while exploring San Francisco and on my way to Macy's next door. There were a lot of people enjoying the christmas tree, sunshine and gardens and also trying their luck at ice skating. It looked like a lot of fun and and enjoyable spot to eat lunch or just take a ride on a skateboard like the two little mates I spotted.

I'll start by saying extrodanary!!! It's like walking into a beautiful fairy tell movie. The lights and the HUGE HUGE windows from every angle you look is epic!! Breath taking for sure, I would recommend to all!!

Iconic square in the middle of the tourist district of the city. High end boutiques and stores surrounds this square. An awesome place to rest and take pictures or enjoy it when there is an event. They place a skating rink at Christmas time or food stalls during an event or individual art from artists who wants to sell their ware. It is a must see when you come to the city.

This is a great place to sit and people watch in a great city. You can go shopping at high end shops, eat at fine dining hotels or eat outside from the street vendors that dot the streets. The square itself offers everything from art shows to ice skating in the winter.

The heart of San Francisco - a hub of activity and home to weekly market space. Public artworks are on display as well as the historic Dewey Monument. Many famous hotels, theatre spaces, bars, clubs, stores and boutique shops fill this district.

Great location to rest, hear music, catch a trolley ... meet friends for coffee and a pastry. Great stores close by, and just a few blocks to Chinatown. Parking can be challenging, it is San Francisco, but worth it.

Wonderful place surrounded by shops and amazing building views. It was undet maintenance when I visited it, and unfortunately, there were people protesting next to a hotel playing drums and saying the same thing over and over again for hours. It was inappropriate for such a touristic area. You can see the cable cars passing by from there, and at night, it just gets more beautiful.

Nothing special, it s a classical park at the middle of an SF neighbourhood. You can enjoy the shops around, and restaurants are ok. If you visit this place as a tourist, make sure to walk to waterfront, and also visit Mission st (where there are great restaurants).
