Beautiful flowers in the area which masked the other scents of the city.
This is a beautiful place however, I have mixed emotions because, it's a richy rich playground. No average person can afford to shop in the nearby stores so if you see in the park it could be a little bit depressing. I am very sorry to see the gentrification that is occurring daily in San Francisco, when I was a teenager I would ride my bike at Union Square doing all kinds of neat tricks and jumps, but today I don't believe that would be possible where are the kids supposed to play?
Definitely the top 3 most beautiful cities in the USA
Gorgeous green scape in the middle of the city. Over Christmas they had the tree out with an ice skating rink. Gorgoeus.
A lovely square with fun shopping and a great cafe for breakfast and coffee.
Right in the heart of the busy city, the Union Square is a perfect spot to sit and appreciate the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco.
Lovely park to grab some food and do a picnic. Tons of stores and restaurants in this area.
Nice public park in the middle of Union Square district. There I left my heart statues in each of the 4 entrances that welcomes you into multi-level park.
There is a outdoor cafe, small patches of green grass, and benches scattered around the park to sit and enjoy. Dogs are welcomed. Flat surfaces make it #accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and walkers.
On top of the Union Street Parking Garage, it is a great meetup location because its right in the middle of everything.
During the Holiday Season annually is also where the temporary ice skating rink is at.
Tourist trap - sucks for locals but great for visitors; nice aesthetics and everything is super close.
Cozy place for relax with a nice weather of San Francisco.
Beautiful view and great location to take pictures and rest from your walk in the city.
Yeah I had a very good time visiting San Francisco my second time here and having a very good time with my family
Fun to walk around union square, it a must for anyone wanting to get the "whole" San Francisco experience.
Nice place to visit, we took a break there, place was clean , 2 coffee house available there.
We ate at Cheese Cake Factory at the top of Macy's. Sat outside on a fairly nice December day. They have heat lamps and the plexiglass shelters you from the wind. Great view from the top. As always, the menu is pages and pages of variety to choose from. Cheese Cake is always crowded during the holudays so be prepared to wait up to 40-45 minutes.
One of the main tourist location in San Francisco. Happening place with many great hotels and pubs in the sorroundings.
Tourist gets their local guide buses. Amazing place to spot great buildings of Westin and Macy's, cable cars n buildings at Geary street.
Everytime I passed this place was tempted to take pics.
This a very good place to hang out in. There is no wind and the people there are really nice! Being there eating breakfast was one of the best moments of my trip I totally recommend going there !
It was beautiful this time of the year with trees full of flowers. I like the square's hearts :) time to time they change them. There are 2 coffee shops each side of the square. I like both..
Cheesecake Factory was good, very busy for a Tuesday. Food was pretty good.
A very lively place! Perfect for an outing! Great places to visit around!
Lots of shopping malls at union squares. Good place to hang out with friends and shop for clothes, etc.
Union Square is a truly "interesting" place with truly "interesting" individuals. Mostly it's safe and the art work is cool. Do keep your eyes open while you're here it's on the border of Tenderloin district which is where "interesting" becomes "run away".
SF clean your city!
Very nice otherwise.
Perfect place to take pictures now if you want to lunch two of my favorite is Nieman Marcus at the very top third floor they have a great restaurant make reservation before time and try and sit near the window second-place is cheese factory in Macy s again make reservation to sit outside you will have a great view of the square.
It s a nice area with some arts exposed on sunny days. Also cool to chill with a coffee.
Nothing special. But if there is a free movie night, then i recommend to go. Maybe it is a bit nicer when it is dark outside.
Born and raised in San Francisco this place is special to my heart. Christmas 2019!
Good place to ppl watch or grab a cafe between shopping or eating.
Nice square among shopping malls and coffee's but still small compared to other similar squares and only limited activities and performances here
Very lively place. Plenty to do .Lovely shops and some Christmas decorations
Great place to hang out and meet. There are plenty of restaurants around the place.
It's obviously a touristy destination. But it was very pleasant, and I enjoyed spending time sitting on the plaza
Very nice place in San Francisco but a pitty to have so many homeless people around.
It's marvelous I have visited twice, we can enjoy weekend's, something will always be happening there and that attracts the visitors, there are some good restaurants for our needs and also a place for shopping.
This was really awesome to see it's so beautiful cant wait to go again
Had a dope lil walk thru saw art people and ate at cheesecake factory. Nice busy part of san fran
Always amazed at union Square during the holidays, it's hands-down the best time of year to visit it.
Good meeting point and having a cup of coffee from the neighbouring cafe.
Normal outdoor city park. Needs more shaded seating.
Beautiful to visit. Nice place to sit and have lunch or coffee. Would recommend!
It amazes me how in the USA a city can change in atmosphere in merely a matter of blocks. That is the case with Union Square. San Francisco appears clean and high end around this square. With the historic St Francis hotel and The Drake, to the Canadian Saks 5th Avenue and the USA Macy's Department Store - Union Square has something for everyone.
While waiting for a table @ The Cheesecake Factory, I was able to go shopping @ Macy's. I'm not too fond of the Cheesecake Factory's food but I was amongst Good Company. Made it all worth it.
The heart of San Francisco! You can find all you need in Union Square...everything from upscale designer shopping to boutiques, pharmacies, Apple Store, eateries, live entertainment, monuments, China Town, street car access, hotels and muck much more. A must see if your visiting the Bay.
A beautiful sunny spot in the city with coffee shops and a view
Very lively place love deffently watch out for the seagulls though if you have food.
Interesting go to place to head for but it's really underwhelming. There's a few interesting statues. Other than that, it's meh
Heart of San Francisco...! A vibrant place throughout the day!
As you would expect, this place is always full of people year round. However, it's still a magnificent place to visit, and on holidays, the square is an awesome place to spend time.
Getting ready for the holidays definitely worth a walk around
Loved this place ,will be back San Francisco is one hell of a town
This was a busy little square, I passed through here while exploring San Francisco and on my way to Macy's next door. There were a lot of people enjoying the christmas tree, sunshine and gardens and also trying their luck at ice skating. It looked like a lot of fun and and enjoyable spot to eat lunch or just take a ride on a skateboard like the two little mates I spotted.
I'll start by saying extrodanary!!! It's like walking into a beautiful fairy tell movie. The lights and the HUGE HUGE windows from every angle you look is epic!! Breath taking for sure, I would recommend to all!!
Iconic square in the middle of the tourist district of the city. High end boutiques and stores surrounds this square. An awesome place to rest and take pictures or enjoy it when there is an event. They place a skating rink at Christmas time or food stalls during an event or individual art from artists who wants to sell their ware. It is a must see when you come to the city.
Absolutely beautiful place that wouldn't be forgotten
This is a great place to sit and people watch in a great city. You can go shopping at high end shops, eat at fine dining hotels or eat outside from the street vendors that dot the streets. The square itself offers everything from art shows to ice skating in the winter.
I came to San Francisco Dec. 1974. Union Square was a place to hang out and meet people. It was a different time then. A friendlier time compared to today. I LOVE SAN FRANCISCO
Waiting for company brunch at Cheesecake at Macy's Union Square. Beautiful day. Ice skaters are out already.
The heart of San Francisco - a hub of activity and home to weekly market space. Public artworks are on display as well as the historic Dewey Monument. Many famous hotels, theatre spaces, bars, clubs, stores and boutique shops fill this district.
Great location to rest, hear music, catch a trolley ... meet friends for coffee and a pastry. Great stores close by, and just a few blocks to Chinatown. Parking can be challenging, it is San Francisco, but worth it.
The food is great and the people behind the counter are wonderful.
Construction. Bad traffic. Noise. A mess, but if you want a variety of stores then this is the place to go. Macy s has done some remodeling, but still in progress.
It wasn't as great as I would have imagined it to be. Also I don't know if that was safe place. I could see lot of guys smoking weed and chilling out there.
Not a clean area. I feel unsafe walking in this area especially during the night. Too many people stay and sleep on the kerbs and plazas make us feel being watched and stared at.
Wonderful place to roam around & have fun.. Parking is a bit difficult when it s a weekend
Nice area, surrounded by expensive stores, and while I was there, there was ice skating
Always construction going on around the area. It s a great place to meet up and have a small picnic. Not a lot of great food options around the area but many three or four blocks down.
Wonderful place surrounded by shops and amazing building views. It was undet maintenance when I visited it, and unfortunately, there were people protesting next to a hotel playing drums and saying the same thing over and over again for hours. It was inappropriate for such a touristic area. You can see the cable cars passing by from there, and at night, it just gets more beautiful.
You can snag some WiFi from Macy s across the street
I'm at the mall a lot of traction nice to go put everything close at 7:00 disappointing
Nothing special, it s a classical park at the middle of an SF neighbourhood. You can enjoy the shops around, and restaurants are ok. If you visit this place as a tourist, make sure to walk to waterfront, and also visit Mission st (where there are great restaurants).
Awesome place to hang out. Lots of things going on!
