Great.. lovely relaxing place. Coffee shop and lots of events taking place. Liked very much and well worth a visit
A lot of history and plenty going on in the heart of the city
SF is a straight up trip.... Like a kinda trip. Still recommend going though haha
The place is bright and cheerful. Great place to visit during Christmas.
Union Square - great for shopping and eating. Good to sit and watch the world go by
Bring all of your money lol great department stores from Cartier to Old Navy , coffee shops and fabulous restaurants for all palates...love it!
Lots of shopping places and great coffee when events are on in the Square.
Nice place to visit. Some street art and sculptures
Nice place, always bustling with shoppers tourists and the regulars.
This is a wonderful and spacious location! It's for pizza, clothing stores, and best of all, a giant centerpiece!
Gorgeous spot for tourists and locals if you're ok with crowds. Try not to drive around here. Walking is best as the foot traffic is super heavy. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Beautiful during Christmas with the big tree and ice skating rink.
At the heart of San Francisco central area. Many famous stores and hotels.
A hub of shoppers, tourists, and business folk flood the square during the day. It's a nice open space in the city, and there are plenty of free performances going on. There's ice skating in the winter, free salsa lessons, jazz performances, and my personal favorite: a fire dancing expo in the spring.
Parking: hahahahah... no. There are garages, but take public transportation if you can help it. Powell Bart station is the closest.
I got a great deal on new nice duds for an East coast memorial next week But. Store closed at 9 so decided to walk back towards old office on Bush and during that walk 90 percent of the people at Union Square we're homeless either walking, sitting, or sleeping .... So I guess you could easily time new friends to talk to and buy a couple beers
The Cheapest most economic Bus Rides to anywhere near California. I took the Big Bus to Frisco for only $36 roundtrip
Union square offers a fun shopping experience and is a popular tourist area. Minus one star because the city of S.F. does nothing with the homeless and druggies that infest the area. The sidewalks are their toilets, and the city infrequently cleans.
Union Square is a fun place to be around. There are tons of shops and lots of restaurants. It's really nice to walk around and sight see.
Great tour. Historic site. Although the boat ride was totally packed and the night tour was only in the evening, I really loved my trip to Alcatraz. The audio tour was really good and gave you a very good idea of how it was on the rock. One thing that surprised me though was the size of the prision itself was much smaller than I had imagined... I had thought it would be bigger.
Good for Pokemon go lol but alot of homeless people, makes you feel sorry also it smells of weed
A generally nice Central gathering place in SFO. Surrounded by high end retail shopping, lots of people and activity in the square, including an ice skating rink. Not a lot of cheap eats around, and not much to do except people watch.
Not even a square, and I didn't see a single union.
Worth checking out if you're from out of town, or you just want to sit around and people watch.
I was there on a beautiful sunny day in autumn. Many people gathered, crowded, there's also some market. Strategic place with a historical value. There's also a beautiful statue from the singer of "San Francisco", you can take a photo with it.
Worth the wait for the tree lighting. Counting the minutes
Soaring "old America" city architectural grandeur and swirling retail extravagance fill the eye in every direction. A stately central pillar from the 1800s with the local all seeing Spirit poised at top is ready to advise all those eager to listen. Worldwide flora including Guardian Canary Island palm trees and the hummingbird-linked datura tree line the perimeter. The Macy's Christmas tree just went up and the spinning masses of the child hearted do their gleeful rotations on the frosty white ice skating rink. A never-ending weekend with our fellow humans at their best who shed their dismal work personalities behind and take a minute to stroll and breathe the open sky among the, music, coffee, sweets, and the multitude of mirthful others.
A nice place to enjoy downtown SFO. Nicely decorated in Christmas and New Years
Do you like shopping? Do you like a mixture of stores you can afford with a smattering of places that feel like you need a credit check just to walk in the door?
This is the place for you then!
Loved it plenty of shops, restaurants, street entertainment
Union Square is filled up with all accessible stores, brands and transportation system at the center of the city of San Francisco
We had a wonderful time walking around Union Square. Encountered a very ride cable car conductor that we actually got off.
Must visit when visiting San Francisco. Hustle and bustle. But also good shopping. Best Macy's
I accompanied my husband to San Francisco for a conference. San Francisco is a beautiful city with so much to offer however the homelessness was a bit overwhelming for me. There are people sleeping on the sidewalks, panhandling etc. Many are obviously mentally ill. Union Square has shops restaurants and you can catch and see the cable car turn around here. There was always a line to catch the cable car at this location and while waiting you are approached by panhandlers.
This is a nice tourist refuge from the adjacent tenderloin and financial districts
Really great place to come see all the lights and to take in the shopping experience for Christmas
A great spot of getting a quick bite on the go or checking out yhe local preforming artist. Local art galleries are just down the street. Good way to take your time and take in the scenery.
It's OK but I do not really see the great thing about this square. There are some shops and hotels around it, but the square itself isn't that great to sit down or for people watching. Quite a few homeless drinking too.
You can perfectly go for a walk in the streets around it though!
Extremely rude store owners. Food nearby is very, very unpleasent. Way too many homeless people. Lots of car hackers at night. Extremely unsafe. Once, someone just shoved me off the sidewalk. DO NOT COME HERE. I am a Local Guide in Orange County, CA, so this is far from where I review. But, trust me. I write lots of reviews and ratings, so Google trusts me, too. I would not come here again. It's A BIG DUMP, just like Hollywood. Way too many people are on drugs. Don't stay at night. Everything is way to pricey. DO NOT recommend it. Lots of littering happens there, too. Extremely dirty. Cars nearly ram into me when driving. Never come here. Way too many stuff is under construction. People are Nincum-Poops there. The weathers also damn hot, too. Please, don't come and don't listen to the higher rating reviews.
Christmas time and a large ornamental christmas tree tries to bring on the spirit!
Being from northern California, I have been here many times and stayed at several of the beautiful hotels surrounding the square. The festivities are wonderful especially during the holidays and the shopping is outstanding. Lots of great restaurants and some good night life as well. Not to mention theater and music.
Always fun to visit Union square while in the city.
Beautiful location summer or winter, the view is spectacular especially if your on holiday but otherwise it's just lovely.
Minus the noisy engineer strikes against Macy's and the homeless people laying around everywhere, this is a nice place.
Very nice location to glace at. You might be surprised!
A fun and famous place to take in some people watching with an espresso.
Good area for shopping and taking pictures. The shops here are more on the fancy side I have to say....
Great ppl watching.....use wear sun screen the sun is on the area all the way until 6 PM...u can get on the trolleys...u can rent a bike or book a tour on a bus along with other things at the ticket office....just be warned the grass under the trees get alot of dogs ..so pick where u sit carefully
pretty central location in heart of sf downtown. they have an ice skating rink here in the winter, and they host art galleries and small festivals throughout the year. It's open air, so not great for rainy days. You see some "heart" sculptures at each corner.
There is so much shopping and sight seeing to be done here. Great tourist spot. Check out my San Fransisco vlog on youtube to see what to expect. I couldnt see everything. There's just roo much for such a short trip.
It's very central place to do good shoppings! There's a lot of famous tradings there!
Even under construction it's a beautiful place to visit. If you've never been during The Holiday's make it a point to go.
Nice space surrounded by all the high end shopping and great places/cafes to chill and eat.
We visited beautiful Union Square on a delightful sun soaked and warm day. There were loads of people who were enjoying the beautiful day as well, eating, sunning themselves, selling, buying, dancing and taking pictures. It was pretty cool observing and everyone seemed to be lay-backed. We stayed and explored and were rewarded with some good photo opportunities. If you get to San Francisco you would enjoy the Union Square area, to take a few minutes of relaxation, sit, have bite to eat and simply watch the people moving about, enjoy.
Love the union square, nice views, nice for shopping and love it for Christmas season
What a great shopping experience from San Francisco!!
A beautiful place to visit. It has a lot of shopping mall and restaurants.
It is like a non stop change of fashionista window dressed to the "nines" non stop. Love to windis shop here. It stimulates my creativith and new ideas to go to the edge.
Good shopping, fun people, 420 if you need it near the Bart escalator
The only problem here is street parking is very limited unless you use a parking garage. It can be quite a walk if you have to park in certain ones that aren't full already. Great stores. Sundays the stores pretty much all close at 7pm.
Lovely coffee shop in Union Square. The ice vanilla coffee was delicious. Oh be ready for the noon siren pretty loud in that area.
Lots of shopping choices. Very festive. Ample parking lots (always a treasure in the city, but that's what you'll pay as well). Great hotels and restaurants. Cable car stop. Worth visiting.
Nice place to shop. Lots of high end shops. Cute little ice rink for the holidays. very busy on black Friday.
Great place to visit, central city busy, great view in the square from Macy's cafe outside deck.
Downtown SF at it's big city finest. Big fancy stores. Kinda dirty. Haven't seen the homeless around there for a while. Maybe the rich people eat them?
This is the Hub of San Francisco for many of us. Good place to jump on a trolley car or jump on a tour bus. Plenty of shopping for anyone's taste. Museums and theater too. Lots of energy and Christmas time is especially funny with all the lights and decorations.
The perfect downtown experience. It's so happening you just feel good to be their. From high end stores to Street hawkers, it has all of it. Must go to Cheesecake Factory for the Perfect view and yummy food.
My daughter and I loved this place. It offers the calmness in the middle of the busy city. There was a street performer playing saxophone. We enjoyed it very much.
The area got its name because it was once used for Thomas Starr King rallies and support for the Union Army during the American Civil War. Dewey monument is dedicated to Admiral George Dewey and commemorates his victory in the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish American War. Now, this area is one of the largest collections of department stores, upscale boutiques, gift shops, art galleries, and beauty salons in the United States, ma king Union Square a major tourist destination
Great place to shop. You get almost every brand and lots of food choices
Union Square is more lovely with the various types of Cherry Blossom trees planted there. April bloom season makes the place more beautiful.
Saks 5th, bloomingbirds, LV, what else do want???? Champagne!!!!
The hub of the city for window shopping and holiday festivities
Unfortunately I didn't have the time to explore this wonderful place but for little I managed to see, it's worth a second trip when I have more time.
Very messy inside but that's expected for a cantina. Food tasted the same as a regular Taco Bell. But they do have a order yourself station with touchscreen and pad.
Place taking pictures to show where I am to instagram or Facebook friends.
