Sharkys On The Pier Reviews

Went to Sharky's last week for lunch, business meeting. I had grouper sandwich and so did one other. Grouper was ok at best. Other friend had hog snapper at 23 dollars and looked ok but later that nigjt she was sicker then a dog. Live in venice Florida for 34 years, so know my fish. Go to sharky's for drinks not food. You work to hard to give then your money.

Great place to have lunch after being on the beach. Usually you can see dolphins around the pier around noon.

On recent trip away from our reality in Miami we visited Venice Island for an extra long weekend. Our hosts talked up several activities and restaurants to visit during our trip... none more than Sharky's On the Pier.

We stopped by Sharky's on a Saturday night for a round of drinks and dinner. If you've ever been to a busy restaurant, you'll know what this place looked like. We were told the wait for a table for four would be about an hour. So we did what any group would do... we went to the bar for a cold beverage to wait it out.

Not only was the restaurant packed, the bar was too! In fact, the bartender barked at us for blocking the way because three of us were standing behind the sole seat at the bar we could find. The drinks were wonderful... well made to say the least.

Once we finally sat down for dinner the food didn't disappoint either. It was a little pricier than we expected. The view is great. The staff was great. Our waiter was a bit slow on the service though.

All in all, great place with a wonderful vibe and delicious seafood. If you're on Venice Island, make sure you add Sharkey's On The Pier to your list.

I was not very fond of this place. Glad it's on the ocean and the prices definitely take advantage of that situation and where it is. Went with a group of 6 and 3 kids. It began when we got there mostly. Did not have a huge wait for drinks but right off the bat got lied to and told water would be coming for all of us which we never got. Had to ask for 2 glasses and that took a bit. Alcoholic drinks came out ok and the second one was asked for and took asking for a second time after it was forgotten. Food came out ok but one order was missed and the person who ordered it had to wait for that to finally arrive to the table as everyone else ate. Entertainment was awesome and it seemed liked everyone else had enjoyed their time there. Definitely a $15-25 a plate place rather than the price we paid for a of our food.

GREAT food, good view. Had trouble finding the restaurant, but it was worthwhile. Will go again when we are in the area.

I was at this park setting up tents and equipment for an event. This is a very serene place to visit with the family

The food was pretty good, but you're really paying for location. Can't beat what's basically lunch on the beach! Just beware the pigeons.

Beautiful backdrop on the pier and decent pinata coladas on $5 happy hour.

Great atmosphere especially sunset time check out the inlet area while your in area worth a walk by dolphins boats and benches doesn't get any better

Sharky's was great! We were seated inside, but still had a view of the beach and gulf- which didn't disappoint. It was arguable that the food was a bit overpriced for how it tasted, but coming from the fact that most of it was freshly caught, it was just fine. The menu had a large selection of seafood as well as other American foods. Overall, Sharky's worked out great for my party of 6!

Great view, good food. The view is really nice especially at sunset. I had sushi to start and the portion was generous and tasty. The scallops were very good but$36 for for scallops is even Beyond New York prices.

Views, views, views....and some really great food! I'm not surprised this was voted best beach bar in Florida this past year. It's right on the beach and off the Venice Pier. Great for a bite and then a stroll...

Cool experience, food was decent. View was pretty cool, while waiting for seating you can walk the pier.

Food was ok/good tasting. Serving size was a little small and the price was a little high. Nice atmosphere right on the beach. Ample parking.

I really liked the atmosphere of being able to sit by the ocean and eat wonderful food. The food was a little over priced but it was delicious. Our server was extremely busy but on the ball. Check it out!

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and prices was better then expected. Long wait for a table though (75 minutes).

The location is very nice, so we were there, but the food is not really good. For the view the food is in order.

Way over crowded. Smells of fried food and booze.. But we had a great time, staff was great and food was yummy! Soo, gotta decide this one yourself..

What happen to Sharkys? No more coconut shrimp with mango salsa. Seriously! Peel and eat shrimp, awful. One was dry the other was mushy. Atmosphere and nachos the only thing worth the prices

This was the worst meal i have had on vacation. I had the shrimp trio and talk about no flavor at all! Will not be back!

We ate upstairs at Fin's great food atmosphere and view is awesome

I will not be returning here simply because we were given drinks at the bar without samples and then told after the fact that the policy is to offer samples to finalize that you like a drink before ordering because exchanges are not allowed. I was given a Bush Wacker without a sample and due to the strong banana flavor (which I personally didn't understand) I did not like it and wanted an exchange. Then, the waiter said no exchanges were allowed due to the sample policy that was NOT followed in the case of my sister and I are who are just starting to drink.
The manager had to come over and talk to us about the policy and then he had to be talked to again- for the EXCHANGE to not be charged to us.
If not for these challenges, I would return for the ambiance and the grouper sandwich was good- not as good as Farlow's blackened grouper but regardless, I will pass on Sharkey's because they do not follow their own policies at the bar and the customer suffers.

A great location to walk the pier and enjoy a meal or drink. Bring your swim suit and hit the waves while your there.

This is by far one of the best restaurants I ve ever been to... PERIOD! The food was so delicious and fresh. I got the lobster stuffed flounder and my husband got some type of pineapple steak. We got mashed potatoes for both, which was REAL potatoes by the way, it still had the potato skins in it which added great texture. We also got a seat with a beautiful ocean view (there s also seating outside near/on the beach!) This will be our go-to place to eat every time we visit Venice from now on! Their shop is also super cute with very reasonable prices. Love love love! If you re on the fence about going or not, just trust me and GO! You will NOT regret it!

Always a great experience. Yesterday was by far the best. I believe our waiters name was Dylan? Very upbeat guy! He made our whole night. Im surely not that excited when I go to work. Even my grumpy husband was smiling and swaying to the music (: music was good and great crowd cheering on the 10/10 dancing lady

Great atmosphere and amazing view of the beach / pier but sadly the food is terrible! Seafood is over cooked and drenched in oil.. for a seafood restaurant I expect a higher standard ! Come on guys try to keep it simple.. just grill it and serve with garlic oil !

Great view with seating outside. The food was mediocre. I had the grouper wrap with sweet potato fries. Our server was super friendly and attentive.

Amazing place to eat. Casual dining at Sharky's. Upscale dining and fantastic sushi upstairs at Finn's.

We requested to be seated inside because it was only 59 degrees, we were taken inside but the door was left open! We asked that the door be closed but was told that the manager refused! We were offered blankets but requested no to get any food on them! Not only was it cold but we had to listen to a jack hammer next to us!! Food was NOT wonderful to say the least! I asked for more coffee, my cup was returned with coffee dripping! I won t recommend Sharky s to anyone!

Don't miss it. We are outside. Great beer menu. Excellent fresh catch dishes and fish tacos. Intend on returning for happy hour and appetizers to watch the sunset. Nice to walk out on the pier. Pretty view of coastline. Indoor dining is offered as well.

This place is sooo overrated, food was poor quality, waitress Rose was rude and unprofessional. I tipped her 20%solely due to the pandemic, giving her the benefit of the doubt. But decided I will NEVER return. The outdoor bar drinks were good & strong for the $8, That is the ONLY reason I am giving Sharky s 2 stars. Sharky s used to be a family tradition for many years. (Circa 2000-2011) it s now just a dive seafood joint with a snazzy exterior. Have drinks at the exterior bar, and find another local place to support.

I always enjoy being by the water. Love the lobster artichoke dip.

Fabulous beaches. May get lucky and see dolphins swimming. Perfect place to locate seashells that are complete. These beaches are not combed thru. Nice long pier to walk on, fish,etc. Great restaurants upon walking onto pier. Beautiful place to watch sunsets. A must see for everyone!

Fun place for tourists to visit. The pier is an awesome place to view some if the water life. Sometimes you can see hundreds of stingrays, dolphins etc. A hot spot for fishing. The food is good but when you eat there you are eating there because its by the pier overlooking the gorgeous gulf coast.

They are selling atmosphere at top dollar ... The food is simply slung out the door fast enough to be able to sit the next 50 suckers waiting for a table to give them their money $$$ Good place to have a drink ... Food is way overpriced and not very good !!

Just like its counterpart Fins, it is a must go to.
