We Valet parked and went to sign up for an outside table, we were told that we would have a 45 minute wait. So we walked the beach and enjoyed the sunset. Went to grab a sweater for my Aunt and discovered that my vehicle was still running and in the same spot that I left it 45 minutes prior. The Valet person said that they got slammed, that was their excuse. After our 45 minute wait they seated us outside sort of, we were escorted all the way to the back of the outdoor seating area under a crappy tent near the dumpster. We then ordered our cocktails, pena colada which were served in plastic cups. Dinner rolls arrived on a paper plate, Dinner orders consisted of fish and chips x2, Ribs, and a chicken quesadilla. The ribs were so tough that my Aunt couldn't eat them, the fish " both orders" were small, greasy, and didn't taste like fish at all. The fries were cold as well. The chicken quesadilla wasn't any better as it was cold and bland. Finally as I was leaving I stopped to use the men's room and an attendant was grudgingly doing some cleaning, I was drying my hands and he threw his cleaning rag against the wall in disgust and see splashed dirty water over my arms and hands... Needless to say we will not be coming back. Horrible experience.

A long time favorite, having been coming here for as long as I can remember!

My parents live in Venice, so this is one of the seafood / beach places we have as a "must go" when we visit. A few years ago, Sharkey's seemed to slip a little in food and service, but the last few, things have been honed in.

For our last visit, it was just the four of us, and we came about 1/2 hour before the sunset on a Friday. A point of reference, they seem to do groups of less than 6 very well, but we've had issues when we had larger groups in previous years. This visit, we were seated promptly, in maybe 15 minutes even though we were told 20-30 when we were handed our buzzer. This was a pleasant surprise, given the our of our visit.

Our server was fantastic! He was upbeat, attentive, and thorough. He made us feel welcomed, made sure we had drinks, and came back for our orders. He helped us navigate the menu, and offered suggestions based on what we were looking for. After we ordered, he made sure we had what we needed, and that our drinks were never empty.

The food was fantastic! I tried a Boathouse Salad with salmon, and it was both a generous portion, and perfectly prepared down to the fish. So often, the piece of fish added to salads can be almost an afterthought, but this was truly created to be a great dish. My wife's scallops were excellent, and our bruschetta was both unique and to be on a short list of items to order. Theirs is made on one larger piece of bread, instead of the smaller slices typically used. This was only different, and the quality of the bread seemed to be fresh baked.

Prices were fair for a good restaurant with one of the best sunsets in Venice, along the Venice Fishing Pier. Come here to enjoy some music on weekends, as well!

I don t get the allure? Service is good, food isn t anything to write home about, especially for the price. There is plenty of parking area, but fills quickly during season. Locals don t go here, snowbirds and tourists can t get enough of it - that should tell you what you need to know.

Very nice place. Right on the water. The menu is a nice size, lots of variety and options. Though a little on the pricey side they fo under deliver on the food. Was in a party of 6 and food was kind of run of the mill. Shrimp weren't properly de shelled. Came out like warm not hot and vibrant.

Been coming here since 1990. Always great food and service. It has changed a lot since the 90 s but managed to keep its charm. Great food, good size portions. But the best part is still the same as in 1990... the view. Go at sunset. Great spot on the gulf away from town and wonderful place to relax on the beach and walk the pier. I had the mahi mahi sandwich which had mahi mahi the size of a steak on it. Blackened (never breaded) and grilled perfectly. There is the addition of a new section called Fins but for me dining outside near the pier is the traditional Sharkys I am used to.
