I used to stay at Shang BKK many times before but ...

I used to stay at Shang BKK many times before but during my last stay at room 2131, Aircondition in the room is not working properly. I couldnt sleep the whole night at room temperature was warm. During day time, I set 18c but I was sweat in the room. Also after checked in that evening, all the lights in the room switch off so I had to call fronk desk and the technician showed up and fixed. As per technician, the breaker in the ceiling was down. I am truly Shangri La group fan and going to be GC diamond memeber now. Suggest to improve the hotel facilities.

Fantastic hotel with prime location on the river, with the most friendly and kind staff. breakfast is outstanding and so was the Seafood and Street food buffet. Standard rooms are fine, but could use a update here and there. I would definitely come back again.

Amazing property near river side. It's away from b...

Amazing property near river side. It's away from bangkok proper market, so it's not at heart of city. Lot of massage parlour are around the hotel. You can take the hotel ferry (complimentary) to visit night market too. Shopping is cheap in Thailand provided you can bargain well. Conference rooms are good and hotel has 4 restaurants where private corporate parties can be kept. Food spread in bfast is amazing with Indian food available too esp Veg. The resort is huge with nice swimming pool and gym too.

Everything from check-in to check-out is really satisfactory. Especially, I praise the staff of MEEH. When I checked in, therse was confusion in the payment of the card, but it worked out really well. She kindly responded. Room cleaning was perfect, too. I cannot forget the delicious breakfast buffet. Thank you for having a good experience.

We were so thrilled to receive all the surprises in our room for our Anniversary

Room was not ready and we found cleaning products due to rush of housekeeping at check in. Check out was very slow and waited unnecessarily due to lack of communication from staff. Not the best Shangri-La Hotel I have seen. For breakfast we felt like in Ibis hotel.

Rooms have an old-fashioned look to it, but very well kept, and gives a great and beautiful feel of ancient classic Bangkok. The service is impeccable, the staff are one of the friendliest and the view by the river is unforgettable. Overall, absolutely amazing.

We were not entirely happy with the rooms. They both seemed to be "tired" and in need of updating. In our room one bedside lamp and one floor lamp were not working and needed the bulbs to be replaced. The chandelier also had bulbs needing replacement. In addition the socket behind the bedside table was half hanging off and potentially dangerous. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels and this did not meet the standard we would have expected. In the bathroom the towel ring fell off which we had to refit.

Staff were however excellent and the service provide was also excellent hence why we are giving a 3 overall.

Everything was extraordinary. From check in with ...

Everything was extraordinary. From check in with friends where we realized that our assistant did not book the reservation. Hotel was nearly full, but the agent worked diligently to get us a room and made us comfortable after the overnight flight from India.
Service was also the best I have had in a hotel in years. From breakfast, tea, and happy hour to room service, restaurants, everything was spot on and wonderful.

Excellent hotel.

Excellent hotel.

The staff in the lobby were outstanding. You feel incredibly welcomed as you enter and everyone greets you.

The breakfast buffet is hard to beat. It's the best feeling when you can have such a breakfast before taking off to explore the city.

I only wish I had more time to explore Bangkok. Hopefully next time.

We are regular guests, having visited the Shangri-La Bangkok annually for the last five years.

Our stay with you is always an enjoyable experience, and this year I'd like to specially highlight two of your people in the Riverside Lounge, Ammy and Oui.

I can't think of any reason why we won't be back again next year.

I went to dinner on board at the Shangri-La Hotel. The food and service are very good and I would recommend it. He walked around the canal while eating for about 2 hours, but the way the bridge palace was lit up beautifully on the way was very beautiful and fantastic. One of my friends was surprised by their birthday, so they played a surprise.

It was my 70th birthday so a special occasion which I highlighted when making the booking. No recognition of this was made from the time I entered the hotel until I left.
I wanted a boat shuttle to The Mandarin Oriental hotel and checked with guest relations at 645pm. after some time on the phone, I asked how long it would take, and they asked, "oh you need it right now ?" No language barrier as my Thai wife had made the request. After 5 minutes we were told to go down to the jetty. At the jetty we were told there was no boat until 730pm - our appointment was at 7pm. So we had to join the taxi queue and subsequently arrived for out appointment 15 minutes late.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Shangri-La Hotel. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean spacious and comfortable. The food provided for the conference was delightful. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I look forward to returning.

Everything about the Shangri-La Bangkok stay was excellent. The hotel and facilities are beautiful. Our room was set up for our four-year old daughter, including some toys to play with and she was thrilled to get milk and cookies by room service the first night. All of the staff were so helpful whenever we needed something. Probably one of our best hotel stays ever.

Krungthep rooms are old & smell musty, moved to other wing rooms are much nicer.

Some staff need to understand better English very hard to communicate with.

Horizon club hot food was cold which was a shame as it would of been a perfect club otherwise.

Housekeeping did a fantastic service everyday which was much appreciated.

View from our room was amazing.

Reserve a room with dinner cruise But when the check goes into the boat, there is no name listed. (Is it possible?) It's also good that the staff members welcome before getting on the boat named "Nok" to arrange their seats. (I appreciate it) Concluding with another impression is Front page payment Why is the drink cost not equal to the evidence from yesterday's dinner? The MPC said that because it is 2 places? No, just eat the buffet. The drink fee cannot be calculated per capita. Can check anything But should not respond to customers like this It doesn't seem professional. It's a shame that the reputation has been around for a long time.
Would like the hotel to have more training for staff members Data linking system Either from the webpage, calling in, booking or walking in to book both dinner or room For it to be a connection that is more accurate and reliable Thai people still feel bad. I have written a complaint to the duty manager and horizon club manager. Really , t terrible reception and service throughout. thr Horizon Club was ameteur and embarrassing in parts and completely underwelming. Wouldn't recommend. Facilities are lovely, higher quality than average, lobby staff lovely. .

First out of many, the buffet for all three meals ...

First out of many, the buffet for all three meals in Next2 (specifically Sunday brunch) has a rotating variation of food cuisine and drinks. Not to mention a spinning table of ice cream flavours to pick from (literally). Personal experience here has left a remark on my opinion as a hotel that I would highly recommend.

I got a bleeding bleeding from a toe in the swimming pool, but I saved the band but said it wasn't there and did nothing.
The first day was fine for breakfast, but the second day seemed to be a big event, with more managers than the staff serving the restaurant, and the managers weren't kind enough to tell if they were security guards. Expensive without, no discounts. It was as if Shangri-La Hotel did not welcome family travelers. I wish I could have discounted the Golden Circle membership.
There is no bidet in guest room restroom, and light switch is old-fashioned, too.
When I asked the concierge how to get to Saphan Taksin Station, I did not tell them how to get inside, but I told them how to go outside.
The good thing was that I was able to go up to my room and sleep the kids right after Horizon Cruise. So this time, Horizon Cruise was just waiting for the employees to sign their bills without taking pictures outside.

The excellent hospitality is consistent throughout...

The excellent hospitality is consistent throughout the hotel. Our booking has a double upgrade offer and we stayed comfortably in an Executive Suite with Horizon Lounge access.

Another note of excellence is the lifeguards at the pool. They reminded all guests to rinse under the shower and stayed very alert watching young children. Fantastic!

5 Star Hotel with a staff that really excels.
The hotel is without question one of the best of Bangkok. Just as one would expect in this league. But what really takes it to the next level is the staff and I really got to break one for the whole crew, from the Concierges to the waiters and everybody who is working there. The staff is going to go the extra mile, as much literally as possible. 2 examples: We wanted to eat something from the in room menu, but not in the room (daughter sleeping). Now the hotel has 4(!) restaurants. The concierge not only brought us to the right one, in person, but also went and searched for the cook to make 100%, beyond all doubt certain, that we would get what we wished for. In any other hotel we would have probably been handed over to the restaurants waiters and let them take care of the rest. And while mostly this would work, again, this is an example of truly exceptional service. Another example: during our stay in one evening, multiple of the elevators stopped working. Now in every floor staff would be waiting for guests and communicate with the other staff to organize the leftover elevators the most efficient way possible. And honestly the few rides we needed we didn t have to wait longer than before. But what really happened is that somehow the staff managed to give this whole thing a flair of extra service. Someone was always with you in the elevator, pressing the right buttons. In the end I felt as this was an extra service. The staff who most certainly had to work extra hours really deserves a bit appraisal, and I hope this post reaches the management.
Also in general, everybody was super friendly, and not in an artificial, exaggerated way to me at all, which can sometimes happen. Not here though. Keep it up. We will surely come again.

Our room accommodated three people as we needed. Your hotel staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful at every turn. Our breakfast each morning was delicious and included an incredible selection of items. Lastly, your hotel location in Bangkok is extremely convenient and when we needed quick work by your staff on the day of our departure because our previously arranged ride and driver did not show up, we had a taxi in a matter of minutes to make sure we made our flight. THANK YOU ALL!!!

Great place for holidays, private resort by the river with convenient access to boat and trains. Service is flawless! Food is great. Breakfast amd lunch at NEXT2 is Great! I couldn't list down all the impressive staff names cause they all are!

Staff were friendly and helpful, feeling welcomed right after step off from the taxi. But rooms need to be renovated, its 2019 now ... can't wait longer for that and competitors are everywhere nowadays. Anyway, will be back to stay again next year.
