The Shangri-La Hotel was on its second visit this time, but the atmosphere of the hotel remained the same and the staff were still friendly.
However, the bedding was stained on the day of check-in, and no trash was removed from the room.
And unlike when I first visited the hotel, it was regrettable that the hotel staff's kindness decreased a bit.
I wanted to enjoy Activity, but I didn't enjoy it because there weren't as many programs as before, and I didn't enjoy it at all because it was paid. One of the reasons I chose Shangri-La was because I was able to listen to various yoga programs! I was so sad.
Shangri-La was still good, but this trip leaves much to be desired in many ways, and it is doubtful whether he will visit again next time.
If I visit again, I hope it will be the first time I visited.

When I arrived at the hotel after 1 am and checked in, I said that I had left the bag I bought at the duty-free shop on the plane, and the lobby woman said that she would handle it myself. They copied passports and tickets, contacted the airport to check lost items, and sent a limousine to find them and delivered them to our room that evening. I am very, very surprised and grateful to receive this service without worrying a lot in the taxi that comes to the hotel, and without the trouble of having to make a phone call that has to go through multiple routes and travel long distances to and from the airport. I am sorry that I could not express my gratitude here because I did not know the name of the staff, but I was really impressed with the kindness and sincerity of Shangri-La Hotel. All the staff smiles and greets you and responds kindly to any inquiries, so I want to stay in Shangri-La again next time.
And if you are bothered with taxi price negotiations, I think staying at the Shangri-La Hotel is a good idea. There is a good way to the BTS station inside the hotel, and there is also a free water boat ride, so it is convenient to go shopping across the street. In particular, the Green Taxi provided by the staff in front of the hotel can go anywhere at the rate indicated on the meter, so you can ride with confidence.
I was worried about what to do because the flight time was too late, but even after checking out, I said that I can leave my luggage at the hotel and look around, then come back and take a shower at the fitness, so such a small consideration is extraordinary.

We stayed for three nights. Had a superb view from our room on the 21st floor. In general a nice and fresh hotel. Wouldn t recommended hotel breakfast more than max once (pricey and nothing special). Hotel bar was nice, but also pricier and nothing out of the ordinary. Staff is mainly very friendly and helpful.

I have stayed at the Shangri La Bangkok in a Club room a couple of times a year for a number of years now. Unfortunately, the experience has been a bit hit and miss lately. In particular this time it was way over crowded and the service average (lots of new staff who seemed inexperienced etc). Seems to me that there are too many people staying on non-club floors and the space/staff can't cope. This commentary relates to the Club room only.

There was an accident in your chinese restaurant when I had a dinner. One of your employee did spill some hot water on my neck
and i scald myself with it. It was not serious although I did hurl vnd indecent words at him by surprise. Could you please ask him to take my appology for it.
Your staff ( food manager) did take care of me nicely and absorb laundry fee with his best sincerity.

A very good service, efficient staff, smiling and responsive to requests for information. The hotel cleans the rooms as well as the common areas A large choice for breakfast in a pleasant setting with views of the Chao Phraya. Pick-up and return to the airport nothing to say on time everything is done to help after a long trip.

Marco, a colleague in your lobby, is very polite and has good service. I hope to see him again in Bangkok next time.

Great weekend in this lovely hotel. We had the Seafood and Street food Buffet in Cafe 2 and it was particularly excellent.

Traditional 5-star hotel. The service is really nothing to say. The restaurant vision is really impeccable

Mr William who cleaned our room every day was extremely helpful, cheerful and made certain that we had everything we needed. The breakfast staff Oui & Tim together with the Cocktails staff in the Krungthep Restaurant Lounge were always very helpful and pleasant to talk to.

Located on the bank of the river, the scenery is good, the breakfast options are many, there are many hawkers next to the restaurant, you can taste Thai snacks!

I loved this place, I would definitely recommend this to someone else. The pool is a little cold, but the reason that I give it 4 stars is because the hot tub was not at all hot. Other than that I love it and will gladly come back soon.

I can't describe with words the beauty and class of this hotel. It was stunning and perfect for our honeymoon. The Chinese restaurant on the first floor had perfect dim sum. Worth every penny!

Excellent facilities, location and room with a view

I like Shangri-La's window seat design very comfortably! Our whole family loves it very much. The view of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok from the window view is the first in Bangkok in day and night!

SHANGRI-LA... . IT is Superb, amenities,food and service.. Very enjoyable . ,easily 5 STARS all the way..

The hotel is very beautiful, the price is good. The part next to the river, overlooking the river with a large swimming pool. Although opened for 10 years, it is considered a leading hotel in Bangkok.

The location is not good.
Adjacent to Shirokova, but the surroundings are a bit messy.
The room condition in the hotel and the friendliness of the hotel are very good, but the room view is good.
There is also a public pier nearby, which makes it easy to get around the river.
Breakfast is very good
The guests nearby said they were not eating breakfast at their hotel and gathered here.
The pool is certainly not as good as the opposite Peninsula Hotel, but it's small (compared to similar hotels) and decent.

We stayed at the Shangri-la in Bangkok for 4 nights in November 2019 in the Krungthep Wing and really enjoyed our stay there. The hotel is of a high standard and the reception area and bar area were impressive with marble floors, oriental decor, luxury seating, etc.
We enjoyed cocktails in the bar area in the evenings and listened to talented singers and pianists. The service is superb by everyone and the staffare attentive, friendly, professional and dressed so well in their uniforms, from the door staff, reception staff and restaurant staff.
I would especially like to thank May who was working in the restaurant as she was outstanding, attentive and delightful to talk to. The food served was superb and we enjoed the buffet breakfasts and the large choice served at breakfast and also for the afternoon tea/Happy Hour in the Krungthep Wing. Everything was so fresh and nicely presented and the variety of food was first class (constantly topped up by the chef so nothing ran out).
Our room in the Krungthep Wing had a balcony with seats and I can recommend this over the rooms with no balcony as the views across the river are something else. I have some great photos of the lights on the river at night with the boats going by and reflections in the water.
Our room had a very large comfortbale bed with fresh cotton sheets. The TV had many channels including the BBC channel (so we caught up with the news back home!) and the Wi-fi was reliable. The room were made up every day including fresh luxury towels. There was also a secure safe in the room and efficient air-con. The room had a 'high-end' feel to it as well as the bathroom and it was super clean (of course the wooden fittings around the sink had minor scratches from use over time which is normal).
Besides this the location of the Shangri-la in Bangkok is perfect for the BTS Sky Train and shuttle boats are right outside, it was so convenient so we were able to use these for sight-seeing. The grounds are also nicely kept with a lush garden area and swimming pool and seats near the river edge where you could relax and watch the boats go by or the small birds in the garden. We would have no hesitation recommending the Shangri-la Bankgkok to others for an enjoyable stay and hope to return on another holiday in the future. They even gave us breakfast boxes on our last day as we had to leave very early in the morning before the restaurant opened.

2) THE KEY CARD WAS VALIDATED ONLY FOR TWO DAYS BY THE CHECK IN EXECUTIVE THOUGH THE ROOM WAS ALREADY PAID FOR FOUR NIGHTS
( NAME OF THE CHECK IN EXECUTIVE WAS NOT REVEALED BY HER COLLEAGUES- AS EXPECTED - LEST SHE MIGHT BE REPRIMANDED)
IT WAS VERY EMBARRASSING FOR US TO LOOK LIKE THIEVES IN FRONT OF THE OTHER GUESTS IN THE ELEVATOR WHEN THE KEY CARD FAILED TO ACTIVATE

Excellent staff, amenities, food. The only thing that was a little bothersome was the smell of my room, which I'm not sure was due to the carpet, air-con, or something else.

I was so satisfied with 3 nights and 4 days. Clean hotel interior and well-maintained clean rooms Above all, a terrace with a riverside view and a swimming pool with a river view are excellent. The in-room amenities are excellent and the quality of the beds and bedding towels is in very good condition. The staff were very friendly and very uncomfortable. Every time the luggage inspection has been troublesome at the time of entering and exiting, it is a proof that security is kept. I love the surrounding facilities. BTS and ferry transportation is very convenient. The nearby Barak Bazaar offers easy access to meals and massages, and the Robinson Department Store and Top Market are convenient for shopping. The next time you come to Bangkok, we will use it again.

This is my first stay in shangri-la bangkok and everything is perfect. Hotel staffs are excellent and treated me like their own family, especially front desk and horizon club staffs. I am really impressed

Amazing room facing the river - great views where you can see the sunset. Even though the room faced the lifts it wasn't noisy. Very polite staff and great service. Every evening there was great singing performance of English songs by an amazing singer. Watermelon juice was very refreshing. Loved the stay there!

Over the last year, I stayed at Shangri-la, Manila and Shangri-La Colombo besides Shangri-La, Bangkok. I found that the service levels and attitude of staff to be the weakest at this property. Naturally you come to expect only the best from the Shangri-La Group and hence at both my other stays, the staff went out of their way to exceed expectations. However, at Bangkok, I often caught staff not paying attention to detail, being busy and insensitive to personal preferences. I have certain dietary restrictions which were often not taken care of. I also found the room servicing to be weak and inconsistent. I could point out specific instances if required. I found my experience at Bangkok to be very average and unlike your other properties.

During my stay at Shangri-La I was privy to the utmost quality of care and service. My concerns were met with compassion and an inherent sense of urgency. The front desk in the Horizon Club took the time to help my through my detailed payment process. The level of professionalism I experienced was matched with their jovial nature. It was truly an authentic experience of the Land of Smiles. I highly recommend this particular Shangri-La location as their Horizon Club was professional and personable, spending time making my little laugh and feel welcome.

The proximity to the Chao Phraya river and train station meant that traveling to and from our day trips were easily navigated.
