Housed within the Lower Level Dining Concourse adjacent to the famed Whispering Gallery" in the historic, iconic and opulent Grand Central Terminal (GCT) of New York City, the GCT Shake Shack serves up its beloved classics including burgers, flat-top dogs, frozen custard, beer, wine and more. What I particularly like about their burger is that they use non-GMO potato roll made by legendary Pennsylvania company Martin's, making it taste super yummy and flavorsome!

Well, if you're trying to eat a great burger in the middle of the central station chaos, this is the place, 5star burger on a 4 star waiting time (normal, there's a lot of people in line). In the summer, I'd walk a few blocks and eat out of the station.

Loved it! The burger was perfect! Juicy to the right extent and the cheese was a delicious combo. It even looked beautiful! They went through slot of effort to make it delicious and one good looking burger.

Horrible service at this place. There were less than 20 people lined up after a 14 minute wait for the pager to go off. The chaos was bad almost everyone had an issue with the food they ordered. The guy handing out food also had very important business on his phone. I could see my order and the kitchen kept piling orders which lead to them handed out before mine after a while even the pager stopped signaling. I watched and counted 6 orders that where finished after mine but got handed out before mine. After I finally complained I got my order by now it was over 20 minutes after I ordered and I had to run. Once in my train I started eating and took the first sip (of course no straw) from my Diet Coke - of course it was a regular coke - not a big deal except if you are diabetic ... learned my lesson never buying food there again

Go to NYC and not eat a Shake shack that everyone recommended. A success, many reminded me of TGB burgers in Spain. Juicy meat and quality products. Do not forget to order a potato with cheese ... of death!

Burger and fries were good. Ice tea was more lemonade than tea-didn't see anything on the menu saying the tea had lemon in it. Then when we got it, it really didn't resemble tea. Service wasn't great either. Things were pretty dirty and a bit unorganized.

The lady at the till was great and the food tasted really good but the kitchen is really disorganized and forgot to make half our order wich we had to wait another 20 minutes after the first half of our order came out to get the rest

Good!

Made the mistake of trying to grab some food here before hopping on a train back home. There were at least 20 people waiting for their food already, but we just wanted a shake and some fries, so we thought we'd be ok. We were wrong. There were 6 employees that we could see, only one of which was actually putting orders together, and one taking orders. The rest were standing around laughing and chatting and not doing anything else. More than 20 minutes after we ordered, we were forced to abandon our food so that we wouldn't miss our train. Maybe the food is good we never got a chance to try it but the employees are lazy and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend going here unless you have an hour to sit around waiting on people who aren't doing their jobs.

It was one of the few places still open after 9:00 p.m. at GCT and I needed dinner. The guy at the register was super friendly about waiting for me to look at the menu (this was my first visit ever). I asked him for a recommendation on a shake flavor and he immediately said "coffeee, if you like coffee." He was right. It was outstanding, as was the chicken sandwich. And, the guy manning the station handing out food saw I use a cane and brace and asked me what my number was so he could tell the kitchen to speed it up. A lot of people say I look like a mean old pinkish man, and I can be when service is poor. Those guys made me think about how I could pay them back for their excellent service. I guess this review is it for now.

The burgers were great but the automated system which vibrates when your food is ready did not work for us.

We waited 15 min only to found out our burgers were ready and got cold. After a short discussion we got new ones. Had to wait another ten minutes though...

The guy at the cashier forgot the drinks we ordered... at least we didn t pay for them.

Generally I love Shake Shack, but this particular one has a disorganized kitchen. I waited 35 minutes for my food at lunchtime today, and saw multiple people who ordered after me get their food before me. Some people just left or asked for refunds at the register because they didn't feel like waiting any longer. I'm sure this place is fine during non peak hours, but I would not recommend going for lunch during the week.

Far too crowded, busy, loud, hassle-ful. It's not like the staff is terrible (which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1), but the food is overpriced, not particularly tasty, and the place is just generally tourist bait. The ingenious p.r. team behind Shake Shack paid good $$ to get the place into tourist books for NYC, playing off of the reputation of the ubiquitous owner. They told the tourists it's a "must visit" place, so the tourists dutifully go - in droves. It is completely ridiculous to line up for food anywhere in NYC, in my opinion, especially for mediocre (at best) food. Instead, try 5 Guys, or, better still, 5 Napkin Burger. Much tastier burgers and fries, less expensive, and more value for your money. Sadly, NYC lost one of the best burger chains recently - Steak and Shake - so I can no longer recommend it as my favorite.
If Shake Shack isn't officially over yet (they've certainly saturated the market enough!), it should be.

The food wasn't great and it took 30+ minutes to get chicken sandwiches. Also very pricey even for Shake Shack standards. It did in a pinch.

If i was supposed to stay at new york for two days, i was going to eat shake shack for 6 times in two days!!! The shake and those golden fries with creamy cheese they use on the top of the fries is heaven

I thought the snack OK.

I thought the snack OK.

He has a more natural taste and not fast food.

Note 3 goes because it is expensive, but I saw nothing so special, the price is why it became famous

Every time I m in NYC, I make sure that I go this place and get the burger and milk shakes. I have to admit that the quality has been deteriorating over the years. But I think this is a landmark place to that one has to go to if I m the city.

Ok
