Historic and era-true decor with all the modern amenities just a short walk from the Moscone Center for con-goers (me) and the price was right. Staff were all friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to assist with anything we needed. Free Seattle's Best coffee every morning? Yes please!
Would definitely stay again and besides, free internet downtown isn't a typical perk these days

It's nice hotel. A bit cramped as it's in the city. But the service and every other detail is well taken care off. There is no parking for guests, which is a big t disappointing. The Jasper restaurant is very good.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. Perhaps not the best location, depending on where you intend to go in the city. Room Service Call was never returned and wake up call never happened. Also, a voucher for the attached restaurant was charged to my room instead of credited to the bill (still waiting to hear back on this). The hotel changed names during our stay, and their computers were down for several hours. Also, business center under renovation at the time.

Pictures were deceiving the room we stayed in was tiny and we found rubbish on the floor from the person who had stayed there before us. The only thing it had going for it was that it was conveniently located if you didn't mind walking past all the homeless.

Goox

I ve stayed here numerous times. It always ends up being the most affordable boutique hotel in San Francisco. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance, as well as transportation options.

We had a great stay at Hotel Spero. The room was a good size for a couple nights stay and we thoroughly enjoyed the coffee and tea that was offered in the mornings on our way out. Parking is very convenient as there are many parking garages right across the street and down the block. What deserves the five stars the most is the incredibly friendly and helpful staff that accommodated our needs after a small mishap. The manager Sean is especially great.

We stay there about a year-and-a-half ago and I have to go to San Francisco for business, ironically enough I stay there again 2 days ago. The hotel is ongoing renovations, the room looks newer but lacks a few things. No water bottle snack bar or coffee machine in the room just a glass, I opted out not to drink sink water. Check-in was easy as ever and the coffee downstairs was a good thing to wake up with. Maybe it was just me but I could not find the menu for room service either.

Cute, moderately priced, hotel in the city and close to Union square and walking distance to some great restaurants. I've stayed multiple times during the recent renovations and have not been disturbed by any construction. Lobby is still a little dated and currently under construction. Excited to watch the transformation unfold.

Brown water was coming of the shower and faucet and there have been multiple times when no one was at the reception desk and when they are there, they are very unwilling to be helpful. It feels like a 3 Star Hotel but not 4 Star because of the lack of helpfulness, and if you extend a day they treat it as a new reservation and hold another security deposit on your credit card. There are so many better places to stay.

Quite central hotel (Union Square) but bordering the Tenderloin district. A building of a certain age, room and in particular the small bathroom. Very kind receptionists, very scenic hotel lobby

For what a hotel fee if the hotel does not offer anything?
The windows were extremely dirty. Bathroom very small, you could hardly move and the sink was dirty. What do I have to pay for this Mandatory Hotel Fee of $ 34.19 per night per person? The gym is ridiculous !!!

Different property with some heritage touches. Friendly staffs right from front office to in-house restaurant Jasper. Very well maintained and clean rooms. The only point for which I am not able to rate 5 star is because of few very basic amenities were missing. Room size and in-room tea/coffee maker is something you would expect in any class of hotel now-a-days. Surprisingly, great free coffee from morning 5 to 10 is something which is not very common and something really unique in this property.

We stayed in an suite so it felt very comfortable and roomy. Looking at the hotel room layout the regular rooms do look tiny. They we nice enough to waive the resort fee for us due to many of the amenities not being available during the pandemic. We loved the water dispensing machine they had at the lobby it saved us lots of time not having to go find bottled water. The reason why this hotel didn t get 5 stars was because staff and the location weren t the best. The staff at the front desk never seems to be too happy as we passed them as we came and go, that s pretty sad! The location was central but was nearby all the homeless living in the streets. Walking around the area felt unsafe and the streets smelled! I would stay somewhere closer to the piers that area seemed more upscale.

My stay at the Serrano Hotel had stated with speculation as I first arrived. After spending the night and talking to the employees of the hotel I've found both the staff and hotel to be quite pleasant

Aside from all this madness from this website, the hotel was an absolute garbage! Old and dirty atmosphere. Old elevators and bedrooms. Our room's heater was broken and took them hours and a few calls from us to come up and not be able to fix it. And they gave us a small heater to enjoy my wife's birthday while suffering from sinus pain in the cold weather and having to get on cold medication because of all this. The staff said oh sorry you did not ask to change your room? Well, I am sorry! I did not know I have to work on YOUR responsibility of making sure the guests are comfortable and happy. Never coming back and do not recommend this place

Great hotel. Feels like classic San Francisco but it's bee renovated so the rooms and lobby are very nice. Attached restaurant is also very good. Our A/C didn't work in our room but I'm sure it was an isolated incident. Would definitely return

A standard hotel for the area. It's on the edge of the tenderloin (the rough bit of SF), but not enough to worry people. I stayed in a 14th floor room which wasn't that noisy and was fairly well put together.

The rooms are a little dated, but the price reflects this. Beware of their $27 a day "resort fee" which will push your price up though!

Staff is super kind and friendly. Rooms are clean. Hotel is very much about conservation. Instead of a pen in the room, they provide a pencil that will grow into a flower! Also love that they donate clothing that you leave on the luggage rack to a local charity. They let you choose an aroma stick to go in your bathroom, which was yet another awesome little touch. I wish I had more pictures to share but it looks like I only took a photo of the lamp I'm going to go hunt down and buy now
