Probably one of my three favorite restaurants in the entire world. This is our third visit and it just keeps getting better. Service by an attractive (bordering on wildly gorgeous!) wait staff, foods and libations served up in style plus an upbeat, relaxed atmosphere never disappoint. Several daily specials are always available to tempt the palate, and resistance is futile, so enjoy!

Even though the food was OK - the salmon was farm raised even though we were told it was from the ocean - we were very disappointed with the menu and pricing on the menu. If you wanted a pickle, it was extra as were other items such as a salad or soup with a sandwich. French fries did not come with sandwiches, and were $3.50 extra. It seemed like Segio's does whatever it can to nickel and dime patrons. The service was good. The lasagna was OK, but it tasted like a store bought frozen and reheated lasagna. It's time for this restaurant to provide what other restaurants provide without extra costs. Unless this pricing policy changes, we will not be back

Sergio's is, from my experience, the best restaurant in town. Food and service are always excellent! Never had a bad meal at Sergio's and we frequent this location. Be sure to ask about the specials. They can be a bit more expensive than other dishes but are worth it!

A busy Friday night in downtown Grass Valley but the staff at Sergio's did a wonderful job getting us seated and served. The pasta was delicious and we had a lovely time eating outside under the lights. A huge thanks to the hardest working and nicest staff of Sergio's! Can't wait to see you again soon!

The food was well seasoned, properly hot, flavorfull, and visually appealing. The soup was esquisite, if not a tad too hot. The service was actually a very nice experience. Attentive, but not clingy. I fully intend to be around for quite some time. Thank you very much for your hospitality and company.

Hubby loved the lasagna and I love their tritip salad add goat cheese and roasted pecans. Love the atmosphere and staff. The owner is a gem. All of these negative reviews about covid safety... if you don t like it, don t go. You obviously aren t small business owners and it shows. It s disgusting to me that people would shame a business just for trying to keep its doors open.

I had dinner there one and the room is tiny with everyone crowded in and the cooks right there in the room where you dine. It was deafening! Today I went back for lunch, (not my choice), and ordered a salad. It was a plate of lettuce with a tiny amount of tomato and strips of steak. It lacked originality and flavor and they charged $14. for it. Boring! I think it was supposed to have some nuts and something else. Did they just forget, or were out of it? I won't be back.

Sergio feels like a restaurant and sidewalk cafe in Florence or Venice. The food is sublime and the staff are professional, courteous, and very attentive. Always worth the price, which isn't half as expensive as any equal restaurant in San Francisco. If Sergio was in San Francisco, it would have a proud place in North Beach, on Columbus, amongst the best restaurants in the City.

I was a long time regular customer and greatly enjoyed their food, service and ambiance. I am sorry to say that they continue to ignore public safety and violate the guidelines that are in place to limit the spread of COVID19. I have eaten my last meal there.

I love this place! Great food. Great people. Thank you for standing up to the bullies and continuing to offer options to people who are not afraid and want to enjoy a meal inside or out!! You have many, many supporters! Much love to you guys, stay strong!

I've enjoyed this spot for years. However since they are defying local COVID hygienic/safety rules, I can only leave 1 star. Do not support businesses that are spreading COVID in our community. It's hard for everyone right now.. but the last thing we need is more sick and dying people in our families.

I took my mom and she loved it too. Sidewalk dining in the summer, people watching. You know sometimes the other persons' meal looks better than what you ordered? No problem at Sergio's! Everything I have eaten there is Delicious. Yesterday I had some cannelloni, yummy.

Fantastic meals in our group of 7. Haven't been to Sergio's for several years, and was very impressed with the meals, salmon, halibut, shrimp, crab cakes, crispy salads, wine selection. Our waiter Jordan was outstanding. We'll be back.......

Birthday dinner on 6/23/20, even got to say hello to Sergio! I ordered the Filet Mignon steak special. It was 8-9 oz's and cooked perfectly to my request. I have not had a filet this good anywhere in Nev Cty. Hubs had chicken ravioli and half my steak (it was so big). Good wine, lovely side salad and very good service. Great food overall.

Good food and fast pleasant service. We don't live in the area but we get up here a fair amount. We will be adding this to our preferred list. If I had any complaint at all it was the pricing, its on the high side. Overall experience was great though.

My friend and I have been waiting to try Sergio's for some time. We are two middle-aged businessmen with homes in Grass Valley. It was "boys night out" so we headed for Sergios. We were warmly met at the door and requested seats at the end of the bar. We were seated a sufficient distance apart, brought menu's and ordered. We were then approached, by the owner himself Sergio who made amiable small talk and recommended and excellent wine we very much enjoyed. Coming from an Italian family I asked him what part of Italy he was from. I came here from Argentina he replied. I remarked that was quite a coincidence as I have a favorite Italian restaurant in Miami and although the entire staff speaks perfect Italian, not one of them had even been to Italy. "You have quite a great Italian community In Argentina I remarked, Sergio smiled and nodded his head Then what occurred was the most bizarre, and unhinged behavior I have ever experienced from any employee in any restaurant in my life. Sergio, inexplicably and for no reason whatsoever asked "So are you Socialists" This was not a joke. There was a certain menace in his voice so we asked "excuse me, what?" Sergio repeated, "Are you, socialists?" We were dumbfounded. We didn't know what to say. Well, we do get social security and do take advantage of other socially supported programs, police, firemen, sewers, etc, I mean there are socialists programs in this country but we don't consider ourselves socialists" We just were not sure where this was going. Then with real menace, Sergio pulled down his face mask and not two feet from our faces snarled as he gestured toward the mask, "This is one-world government, this is what socialism looks like a global government" OK, so at this point, I knew we were dealing with a full-blown right-wing nut case. I was ready for the Qanaon speech next. I told him to please just go away but he persisted. Just go away I repeated again and again to no avail. Imagine harassing two customers of your own restaurant for absolutely no reason. There had been no trigger regarding politics in any part of our interaction none whatsoever. I asked for the bill promptly paid it and we left. We threw his food in a garbage can and retired to Tofanellis across the street. How could someone radiate that unseemly behavior for absolutely no reason on innocent customers? Then it occurred to me, Sergio, perhaps in his 80's, Italian and living in Argentina .... suddenly it all fit. So if you want a nice Italian meal prepared by an avowed fascist, now you know where to go

We went to Sergio s for my husband s birthday. This was my first time as we just moved back to the area. We had the calamari appetizer and Caesar salad to start. For dinner we had: veal piccata, fettuccini Alfredo with salmon and I had the sea bass special. For dessert we had the cheesecake with blueberry sauce and the pannacotta. Everything was delicious. The service was impeccable, the waitstaff attentive, the ambiance warm and inviting. It was as if we were dining in San Francisco. This is my new favorite restaurant. It was already my husbands. Our son was blown away too. I love Sergio s story. We too have family in Italy. And the Argentina connection is what makes this restaurant unique. The only thing missing was the tango music We will enthusiastically return as much as possible. We all need to do our part in helping these restaurants survive this pandemic. Dine on the patio, Order take out, get the home made desserts! It s amazing!!! Thank you Sergio & Lena for this fabulous little gem in Grass Valley. Keep up the good work.

Ah Sergio's... If only they would hang some banners and deaden the noise. Mostly very good, but you can hit a really bad night and I haven't figured out the rythem of that issue. I like the wine by the glass selection, and yes a good menu too with knowagleable staff. But the risk of hitting an off night is too high, and with the newly opened excellent Owl (Watershed) across the street... I'll go there.

Crowded though nice. Good Italian atmosphere. Presentation was a little lacking and Piccata sauce was on the sweet side. Wines a little overpriced and it was obvious of the measurements. So the service was great and otherwise the food was excellent.

Wonderfully warm and inviting open dining room with bar. Friendly and professional staff. Excellent alfredo sauce and great salmon. Large selection of beers and wines, locals' brews included. Reservations are a good idea for dinner if more than two. Enjoy!

Don t go here if you want any semblance of social distancing or sanitation. People were packed in, literally breathing over our shoulders at one point w/ no staff mngmnt of distance, about 1/3 of staff w/ no masks, little cleaning of tables in between groips. Oh, and our dinner took a full hour to arrive. Food was decent but way overpriced. Won t go back, regardless of covid.

Segio's atmosphere is great, with the patio seating, piano music, etc, but the execution on the food falls very short of 5 stars. Bread brought out at the beginning of the meal was cool and stale. The 18 dollar gnocchi with Gorgonzola lacked flavor and style, as the sauce was mostly heavy cream, with scant to no flavor of the robust Italian cheese. My mom's chicken Caesar salad was uninspired with browning lettuce. The portions were also small. Very doubtful I'll go back.

Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Grass Valley. Service is friendly, and the food has always been delicious. There is an option for outside dining so a great place to relax and enjoy some tasty Italian cuisine. There is a full bar and in my opinion the dinner menu is superior to the lunch option. Prices are fair and the portions are generous. A great place be it a romantic date or a business lunch.

Disappointed in the food. Restaurant was so uncomfortably hot I! We decided to celebrate my husbands birthday at Sergio's what a mistake. Informed staff it was his birthday and not even a happy birthday or a smile from anyone. Not likely we will ever return. Bit pricey also.
