Very slow service. Took 15 minutes to even get water and another 25 minutes after that to get the two drinks we ordered (glass of wine and mixed drink). Unfortunately, no acknowledgement that everything was taking so long from the waitress which makes it seem like it s expected? The couple next to us had their drinks comped and actually left because everything was taking so long. We stuck it out- and the food was actually good. Had the special, Halibut. The quality of the food was definitely overshadowed by the poor service. Probably won t be back as there are other places with similar/better food with quicker service.

This is my favorite place in Jacksonville. The atmosphere is upscale and the service matches. I typically get Mussels for an appetizer and Steak Frites for the main course. Always finish with the French press coffee. I don't recall anyone ever complaining about a meal though. Visit when you have time as this is a place to enjoy.

Always excellent food! It doesn't matter what you order, it will be good. Good size portions for the money. Too full for dessert, but I'm sure it's good too! Great service, friendly servers. Parking is a little difficult at times. My only complaint is that it is really dark inside and I have to use my phone to see the menu, maybe just old eyes! Lol.

Visited as part of a large group event. We had one of the meeting rooms. The food was provided by the event sponsors. All the food tasted great. The sliders and deviled eggs were hit with me. The staff serving drinks got to know each person. Worked hard to keep drinks flowing and had us checked out quickly. I would like to return for a full meal.

Bistro Aix is a great example of the food revolution that has gripped cities like Washington DC, San Francisco, and is making its way to Jacksonville, Florida? Not quite, while Bistro Aix is a shinning example of how good food can be, Jacksonville has yet to fully embrace the standards set by bistro. You'll find Bistro Aix located in the historic San Marco part of town, this quaint neighborhood lends itself well to Aix. The theme is that of Aix-en-Provence France and you'll find reminders of it peppered all over the location. There are several options for eating, the bar, the main dining room, outside in their courtyard, or in Onyx the new extension for dining/bar. The menu is full of fantastic treats that you'll no doubt spend hours poring over. A robust wine list will leave you very happy when you find a bottle for as little as 40$ or as pricy as $4,000. Aix has a bar where you can sit and look into their open kitchen, you'll see your food go from fins and scales to hot roasted in their ovens. Aix also sports a pastry shop where rich sweets await. If you are looking around you'll find Onyx, an all white bar in stark contrast to the rest of Aix. My issue with Onyx is that while it has the same service and food, because its so modern there is no sound dampening on the walls and that leaves this room very loud if you are used to the rest of Aix. Chef Gray was nominated for the James Beard award and is very deserving of it. He continues to push the food movement in the Jacksonville area and people come in herds to eat here. Make sure avoid this place during the normal lunch/dinner hours when corporate America comes to feed. Aix gets 5 stars from me because I know each time I eat here I am in for a treat and will be taken care of table side. If you are looking for a fine dinning experience where ingredients are treated with respect, and techniques are true to form then this is Jacksonville's premier address.

My husband took me here for Valentine s Day this past Friday, and I was blown away! I can t believe we have lived in Jacksonville this long and not ever been here, the service and food were absolutely amazing! Just a tip you have to try the French onion soup it s to die for!

Our experience was great! The food was awesome! My only issue is with the servers hair. For the atmosphere and price point, I didn't feel her appearance even looked clean. A comb would have made a world of difference. Not to mention, I'm sure no one wants her hair in their food. How would management feel about having to trash a $30 entree because her hair was in it?

We've been to this restaurant many times. This was our first visit post-hurricane and the repairs that followed. Same great food, same great staff, same great atmosphere. Some of the repairs after the hurricane are not terribly impressive. Hopefully that will get fixed in the long run.

I showed up as an underage vegetarian (this eliminated more than half of the menu) with no idea what I was doing. I had a $10 gift card and I wanted to use it. The staff was incredible. I got a seat at the raw bar and they assured me that I was fine, even though I was underdressed. My server was amazing and happened to be vegan, so she was able to help me find something to eat. The food was incredible. Quick and great tasting. It was a dream.

Just great! The potato chips and blue cheese nachos are a favorite. And the food is really good to the lounge is unbelievably cool I mean like really cool. They used to give out teal deals and they stopped! The wine list is decent and the entrees and the menu overall is seasonal and quaint.

Food was mediocre at best but my biggest complaint is that we were told we couldn t substitute the butternut squash soup for French onion soup by the owners which were sitting in front of us. Doesn t seem like a big deal and would ve made us very happy. The butternut squash soup was overly sweet. My beet salad was mostly kale and needed more moisture. The duck was not cooked or flavored well... Side note: I ve eaten a lot of nice French food all over France and Yountville so I may be a tougher critic than the average patron.

My husband and kids and I stayed 1 night in this cute hotel. We had a spacious 1 bedroom suite with a full kitchen. My kids loved the heated pool and hot tub and we enjoyed hot chocolate by the fire pit. The breakfast was nice and the breakfast area was clean and restocked often. Like others though, I was...

Dined there last night. Appetizers were very good, calamari light and fresh with a nice dipping sauce, chartreuse board had good variety and portion. Had steak frites which were excellent, wife had the scallops dish, good but too pricey, $32 and only 3 scallops, cmon. Our friends had a shrimp dish and duck entree which was good. Service was a little slow, ambiance is nice, little pricey but overall a good dining experience.

I brought a bunch of friends here and we had a great time. Our server was very knowledgable, informative and friendly. Our food came on time and he was always there when we had questions or needed anything. The food was ok. Their lamb shank and bread was really good. I also ordered their shrimp and crab ravioli and that was not good. It was in a sweet cream sauce and the flavors did not go well together. I don't think I would come back here again because the food was pricey and it's a hit or miss if it's going to be good or not.

Service: Very good. Polite, courteous and competent. Food: Tasty, but very underwhelming given this restaurant's reputation and especially the price. I have had much tastier steaks for half the price. The food was flavorful, but not the "Oh Wow!" experience. This restaurant is VERY NOISY!!! The acoustics in the room make it so that everyone can hear all the other conversations clearly (almost no soft surfaces in the entire restaurant). We were seated in one of the booths in the back corner of the restaurant away from the main dining room and it was almost impossible to hear each other speak. Do not go for a romantic evening, this is not the place for that. After all the hype and positive reviews, we were very disappointed. The bar is set too high for this (otherwise good) restaurant

My boyfriend and I came here yesterday for a late lunch. The ambiance was nice, save for the weird napkins that had "Forking Amazing Restaurants" printed on them. Our waiter, Will, was very nice and personable. We started with the bleu cheese chips, which came out room temp and slightly soggy. For our entrees, I ordered the Anson Mills Farro, described as farro, fava beans, mushrooms and tri colored cauliflower in a mushroom jus. My boyfriend ordered the roasted chicken, which was the same as my dish and topped with a roasted chicken breast. The food came out looking and smelling delightful. However, that was as good as it got. My farro was undeniably undercooked. It was almost crunchy still. My boyfriends farro was also terribly undercooked. Our jaws hurt trying to chew through the farro. To top it off, his chicken was overcooked. He described it as dry and flavorless. He tried to soak it in the jus a little for some flavor, but the jus was so light that it wasn't enough. In the end I paid $55 before the tip for one of the most underwhelming dining experiences of my life. I'm pretty upset that I paid so much for so little enjoyment.

Yeah, no. The service was awful. 40 minutes to get our appetizer. Didn t bring bread until we asked and then 20 minutes. Drinks took forever. Entrees? A 7:45 reservation and we got the entrees at 9:10 and they simply weren t good. The Mahi fresh catch was dry as paper and the tuna entree tasted rancid. We paid for cocktails and two entrees for a party of four and it was still a $200 bill despite talking to the manager. Just avoid this place. It s simply not good.
