Obviously one of the most elegant shopping centres in London besides Harrods. Be ready to spend a good few quid as it tends to be pricey. Huge variety of places and items to choose from. Love to go and chill in the Starbucks in the 4th floor.

This is the best department store in London in my opinion. It has everything including clothes, technology, wine and food. It's a good place to browse around or just to check out the latest fashions.

Write to Customer Service. They say telephone. You telephone. 'We can not get through to the store - it is very busy...' Thursday late morning. They hang up on you. Fantastic service. Easy, I will not make the journey to Oxford Street and find an alternative supplier/outlet. Who needs that sort of treatment?

They have an amazing Christmas department at this time of year which is worth a visit (you can get personalised Nutella this year, should you need that!). Plus at the moment there are currently 3 Paddington Bear statues inside from the Paddington trail to find!

Selfridges is a 'must visit' shopping destination, especially tourists looking for proof that London is the crown jewel of world retail. I've been to a lot of the high brow department stores around the world, and Selfridges is the one that ranks most highly in my opinion. Even beating the likes of Bloomingdales and Henri Bendell in New York. The only place possibly beating Selfridges is Liberty in Soho, but you can easily visit both in one day and decide for yourself.

Technology is in the basement, and homewares are up on top. You'll also find a huge food hall, with an amazing international selection of pretty much anything (for a price). There's even a cinema.

Avoid this place in December at the weekends as it becomes a heaving mass of Christmas shoppers with no sense of direction or manners. Instead, go during a weekday in the Spring.

Such an iconic store! Very high end, especially known for its fashion and amazing shoe floor. Also check out the Denim section that sells a dizzying number of brands. I always look forward to seeing their ever changing and artistic window displays, especially at Christmas.

Hungry? Try out one of their many restaurants, such as The Corner Restaurant, where you can get a glass of champagne. I also like the Brass Rail, which is a casual deli on the main floor.

Tip: Watch the Netflix series Mr. Selfridge, starring Jeremy Piven to get a somewhat factual account of its history and its innovation. Additionally, the Museum of London houses an original elevator from the store.

Great shopping experience and great customer services at all shops and restaurants, the visit to Selfridges is always worth travelling. Although the favourite part of Selfridges will always remain perfume section.
