we couldn't be happier. It's not one of their more luxurious beautiful resorts but the people and the staff in the party environment for an all-adult is just wonderful. We've only been members of the unlimited vacation club for a year in a few months and we've already been to that secret silversands twice. Really enjoyed ourselves there.

Really friendly staff and fair prices for this all-inclusive, top shelf, adults only resort. The buildings and grounds need a lot of work, though. I kind of expected more from a Secrets. Great menu, fun evening events and themed nights. Organized beach and pool volleyball, swim aerobics and more. Good sandy beach, but there isn't much space to swim without getting tangled up in seaweeds. Luckily the pools are numerous and beautiful. Loved the huge hot tub overlooking the beach. The day trip to dive at Cozumel was well organized, fairly priced and super fun! Just wish the buildings weren't in such disrepair - it was probably beautiful when it opened.

This place simply does not live up to its rating. It should be rated 3-3.5 stars at most. Food is ok, staff is ok, anemeties are ok. Nothing stand out. Perhaps many years ago it was better but as it stands now, find a different resort of your looking for anything more than mediocracy

Room is wonderful the most comfortable bed. Even with being here with rain it was still a most enjoyable stay. The staff was all very accommodating and friendly. The grounds are well maintained. Food is good so much to choose from. Entertainment is awesome. I would recommend.

Food was fantastic. Much better than expected. We had phenomenal weather the entire stay. While there has been a seaweed problem throughout the riviera maya, secrets silversands staff did a great job with continuous beach clean up making laying by the ocean enjoyable. The entire staff was outstanding and very welcoming. Plenty of activities throughout the day to keep you occupied. Drinks were great and plentiful.

Had a fantastic stay here! The staff was amazing, in fact, my favorite part of the whole experience! Great food, drink, rooms, and entertainment! Anna, Carlos, and Alexia were my favorite entertainers! Daniel, Francisco, and Misael were the best bartenders! We will definitely be back! Thanks for everything you all do every day!

Food is amazing! Everyone is so nice and accommodating. The resort is nice and well kept. Several bars with great bar tenders. The waitresses literally wait on you hand and foot. Great place for an adults only get away.

The Japanese restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. The service of the waiters in general in the areas of the pools is very good ... the variety of drinks is not so good. The room very spacious.

Just visited Secrets Silversands at Cancun my over all experience in a scale of 1-10 would be 3. The decor when you arrive is beautiful but before you even get to your room you have the workers trying to sell you everything under the sun. Complete turn off I'm on vacation and don't like to be bombarded when I walk through the door about purchasing spa and other activities if I choose too I will do on my time. The room was the curtains could use a good washing and t.v. is like watching a computer screen and then most of the channels are in spanish, granted we are in Cancun but can I get a channel in English and a bigger t.v.. Then come to find out the movie channel was not working . I enjoyed the pool area, the beach was nearly a ghost town. The food was not so good. Their are 7 different restaurants to chose from ( but 1 night 1 of the restaurants are closed) which brings you to waiting at least 25 minutes at the other restaurants to eat dinner. Also many complaints about the dress code, its understandable to have a dress code for maybe 2 restaurants but for all 7 when u r in Vacation is crazy and this goes for breakfast and lunch as well. Most people are coming in comfy wesr shirts shorts etc.....no one dam ts to get dress up all the time . I will say the workers their were all pleasant and courtesy. If you are looking for low key R&R then this is the place for you. Would I revisit probably not.

We had a nice few days here in December. The resort is located ~30 mins from Cancun Airport, but surrounded by enough surf and jungle to feel like it's on a private island. Food was plentiful and enjoyable, and the drinks were as good as any resort I've visited. Staff were exceptional: very accommodating and friendly, and happy to help you improve your Spanish! The building itself is looking a bit dated, but is well maintained.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS RESORT. WE HAD A DIAMOND RING, PERFUME, cologne, MONEY AND VERSACE SUNGLASSES STOLEN FROM OUR ROOM. When we got security involved they treated us like the criminals and went through all our stuff. Security must have been in on it...It was one of the worst travelling experiences to date. We stayed for five days and were running to the bathroom constantly. We never were compensated for our stolen stuff and were sent an email upon arriving back in Canada from the head of security stating that a complete investigation found that nothing suspicious had gone on in our room. Yet the diamond/gold ring that was taken from my suitcase along with the ring box it came in could only have been stolen by housekeeping or security.

My partner kept telling me money and his cologne was missing but I thought he was mistaken or misplaced it. It was not till we were ready to checkout and I went to put the ring into my purse to bring with me on the plane I realized it had been stolen.

HORRIBLE OUTCOME - HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Loved the resort until my last night. We went dancing at the sports bar our last night and it was hot inside. So we walked outside the doors with our drinks. Then Erik, security, comes up to me dancing in the hallway and ask if I'm smoking. I don't smoke. Clearly it was the 3 girls standing at the sliding door right beside me. Being the only woman of colour at the bar I felt singled out by him. He didn't ask my white boyfriend. Erik only asked me if I was smoking. I, of course, took it personal being singled out by Erik and being the only woman of colour there. Mind you there is great staff there such as: Jorge and Juan. However being treated like that by Erik made me feel marginalized and unwelcome. Not sure how I feel about Secrets Resorts staff any more. I no longer see a membership in the UVC in my future if that's what I can expect as a mature woman of colour. Hopefully it's not racism directed at people of colour. I did tell the front desk about it but I'm not sure what they'll do regarding the situation.

My husband and I wanted to go to an adult-only resort this year and decided on Secrets Silversands. Although we were impressed by several things, we were a little taken aback by the bars closing so early! It didn t tear us away from having a good time luckily. The restaurants were spectacular, but I highly recommend Bordeaux over the others if you re looking for a perfectly cooked steak. I would come back and recommend this place to others, but this location should adjust the bar times (especially if a kid s resort, Dreams, has extended hours!)

First they gave us a room without a pool view when what they sell is a room with a view to the pool, then they changed rooms and the room smells like paint. Perfect room and hotel with lost potential due to bad customer service in general.

Almost Ultimate Luxury.....I did give it 5 Stars....really 4.75. They do everything right here, delicious food and restaurants, exciting and fun entertainment, high end drink service, hard working maintenance staff is all 100 percent. Rooms are very nice, just minor wear and tear....I'd advise great for couples not for families. All rooms are pretty much pool view, there is pools everywhere you look. Building 6 is a little noisy in the morning, that's where the fresh food and beverages gets delivered daily. Some buildings have a foul smell on the back side after the rain but the Riviera breeze blows it away, on the Pool side and balcony there is no problemo. Keep your AC on and Patio Door closed to improve humidity, The beach has some Seaweed every morning but they clean it up quickly.....Beach is nice but I've been to better, still beautiful white sand and lots to do. The best part is the staff has to be the nicest and it's been a pleasure visiting here, I'd go for the ocean view next time....Secrets has been awesome to me I'd recommend it.....Oh ya...the Escargot in the Bordeaux restaurant is the best in the world.....

Great place, especially if you're looking for all you can drink alcohol consumption. We're just not those people, but it was still top notch. Only thing we wanted but didn't get was for the hot tub to be open past 8 PM. We had a great time here.

We visited Secrets Silversands in 2016, loved it so much that we returned back. Just got back for a 1 week visit and still the same. Fantastic team working there, food is great. We highly recommend this resort, you get treated like a king & queen when your there.

Very cool resort with tons of activities. There are lots of different pools so you can find a quiet one or a more exciting pool. Events staff is great always making sure people are having fun. I've been to another secrets where the food wasn't that great but not the case here. We liked all of the food we got. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Overall, the resort was nice and we had a wonderful time. Staff was very accommodating especially Leonardo. Just a few complaints. The noise level was very high. There is a prevailing thump-a-thump -a-thump -a-thump electronic bass noise all day long even when there is no event in the pool. We were warned about it by another guest and she said to get used to it but it was difficult to tune it out.
There appears to be no quality standards with housekeeping resulting in no coffee, disappearing coffee cups, and inopportune clean times even after contacting the concierge. They insisted on coming to the room just before diner while we were trying to get dressed. Also, there was a leak from the air conditioner and my wife slipped and fell. Called the concierge and they sent out a repair man. Nobody asked how my wife was, if she needed help or care. When we were checking our out I asked the concierge if there was a record of the accident, and she entered it into the system just then.
Lastly and this makes no sense at all, We are in Mexico, in their Mexican restaurant, and the Chile Rellenos are vegan --- no cheese. How the hell do you make a chile relleno without cheese? We had the waiter in stitches asking him if his mother ever made them without cheese. One of the concierges replied " Oh no, Senor". We will never understand when only 10% of the population is vegetarian or vegan, that so many restaurants cater to them. Other than that, the food overall was much better than most resorts.

I highly recommend the corporate people getting off their chairs and visit their resorts. A lot of the issues, such as housekeeping, cleanliness of the grounds, the silly food catering to a minority part of the population and the NOISE level could be resolved making this the five star resort it could be very easily.

This resort doesn t deserve 3 stars, much less 5. From the moment we checked in, my wife and I knew we were headed in a downhill spiral. From the customer service at the front desk, or lack thereof, to the actual cleanliness of our room. The property is outdated and poorly kept. To say the least, we were planning on staying 4 nights and ended up checking out after the first night. Pictures speak louder than words - see for yourselves. You ve been warned.

I thoroughly read these reviews prior to my trip so I wanted to share my experience as well for others!

Where to start? This is a WONDERFUL resort and I had a fabulous time!

I booked a swim out ocean front suite. It was very nice room, though the tub seemed in need of some work so sadly I didn't get to use it. The view was gorgeous! But the pool was not in front of our room which was a bit disappointing to me, however my boyfriend actually liked it better to the side. (In reality it was a 10 foot walk from our patio so not a huge deal, but I would prefer my swim out suite to have a pool directly in front of it)

Last con about the room, the bathroom set up. It has basically two barn doors that do not close all the way and a clear glass door in front of the toilet, does not make for a ton of privacy......

Upon arrival we were greeted by an extremely friendly host and handed champagne and cool towel then lead on quick tour of the facility on route to the "preferred club" for check in. Once there we were quickly checked in, but since we were a little early they said it would be 30 minutes until house keeping finished up the final touches, which was totally fine! They had already taken our suitcases for us so we headed over to Seaside for lunch and it was DELICIOUS! (Highly reccomend the mahi mahi)

After lunch we went back to the PC and got our keys and headed over to our room. I was so excited to walk in and see a bottle of champagne, I had been under the impression you had to be celebrating a wedding/birthday/anniversary ect to receive it without purchase so that was a nice surprise.

We hung out at the main pool in the mornings most days and headed over to our swim out in the afternoon. The water is a little cooler and more refreshing in the swim out. If you're going to the main pool head out a little early or on your way to breakfast and set out a towel where you want to hold your seat! I also suggest bringing a Yeti tumbler or something similar for two reasons, 1. it's bigger and you don't need as many refills 2. it stays cold in the hot sun. We also brought our own floats which was helpful, the ones available at the pool are limited. You can get one for $5 at target and leave it if you don't feel like deflating it.

The beach:
So ya the beach is not great. (At no fault to the resort) they're fighting a NEVER ending battle against that seaweed and never seem to give up. It is rocky so if you like to get it I would suggest buying water shoes or fun toes before your trip. It's still a nice beach to relax on though. I fell asleep on the chairs a bout 3 times. Very relaxing!

The Service:
OMG I can't say enough good stuff about the staff here. Everyone was so wonderful. Please tip them, they're working so hard and do such a a great job of making your vacation special!

Shout out to Mercedes and Delmy for keeping my drink full!

And thanks to Ivan for finally inspiring me to join in for the pool and beach vball, it was so fun! I wish I would've participated earlier.

Drinks:
I suggest the blackberry mojito with an extra shot of rum. Very refreshing and not too sweet.

Food:
The food was wondrful but no matter where you go, get the soup! Every soup I had was so amazing, esepcially the French Onion at Bordeaux. By far the best soup I have ever had.

Safety:
I was concerned prior to my trip regarding all that was going on in Cancun but I will say that there was not one point on this vacation that I felt unsafe in any way at Silversands.

All in all this was a fabulous vacation and I had an absolutely wonderful time. The resort and pools are beautiful, the stafff is unmatched, and it was a great experience. Being that I am a beach person I will likely try out another AM resort with a better reviewed beach for my next trip but I will certainly return here some day!

We and two other couples stayed at the Secrets Silversands from January 4th through January 8th. We absolutely LOVED it. The staff was wonderful. Especially Delmy, our pool waitress. She didn't miss a beat and kept our drinks coming all day long by the pool. Miguel was awesome also! Both he and Delmy remembered all of us by name everyday. (I don't know how they do it). Miguel kept us laughing throughout our stay. The rooms were cleaned and stocked everyday. The room service was awesome. The waiters and waitresses in all the restaurants were wonderful....a special thanks to Robin at the Sea Side Grill and also. The beach was beautiful thanks to the tireless guys that worked non-stop throughout the day removing the seaweed. The activities were fun. Our room was in building three and it was nice and quiet overlooking one of the pools. I would definitely recommend this resort and hope to return in the future.

The location is great, though the beach is a little underwhelming here. The service is fantastic and we haven't had a bad meal yet. Our room is above the live bands so it's hard to sleep before 11pm but the view is great and the room is spectacular.

Very beautiful resort. They had a major seaweed issue the whole week we were there so that was a bit of a bummer. The food was good but I have had better at other resorts. I would suggest to do the upgrades and take your own glass with a lid and straw.

On vacation here with my girlfriend's parents for her graduation and their anniversary, and it is the best experience I've ever had. The food service is perfect, the pools are excellent, and the atmosphere around the resort is to-die-for. The only bad thing is sunburns!
