Great staff, amazing food. I felt safe at all times. Yessica from the buffet gave us the best service in the resort. I thought the activities that the entertainment group offered were really lame. A lot of bingo games not much more.

Went to this resort in March and the food was good enough, the entertainment was alright. We were lucky and had good weather but my boyfriend and I both got sick while we were there.
Great resort, loved the food and of course the drinks. Staff takes pride working here too, you can feel it. Some areas are starting to get worn down, it's an older resort so this is understandable, a bit of a reno is due.
Love vacationing at Secrets Resorts, the service is outstanding, lots of good restaurant varieties on site and top shelf liquor to make for a perfect all inclusive experience. Silversands has a cool modern feel, good pool, lots of activities to keep you occupied day and night.
We had a fabulous time here! Room was nice and always clean, people were great here. Service was awesome for the most part! Great pools, hot tubs and ocean views ! Our favorite server was Tania she was always there when we needed anything while sitting at the pool! Anna Banana ( from entrtainment ) was awesome and so nice to us, always remembered our names and talked to us ! We met some very nice people from all over the US and Canada! Would recommend to anyone! Beautiful place!
This shouldn't be a Secrets. This was an old run down 10 year old facility in Cancun. It is not up to the Secrets brand that I am use to. You can't put enough makeup on this old lady to make her look like a young chick. There are many other places in Cancun to spend your money and get a much better value. Buyer beware for this one. Now, thst being said its not horrible but consider this one a basic model with quite a bit of mileage.
My husband and I loved this Resort- the service was wonderful, the food was very very good and some dishes were exotic. The nightly entertainment was enjoyable along with live music each evening. The beach was beautiful with soft sand and everyone that I came in contact with was very kind. The rooms were also well kept up and the bed was comfortable. I highly recommend this resort!
Hotel is teallynoce and the staff is super helpful.the food I'd good so far but we are only on day two so unsure if it becomes repetitious. The drinks are good but the ala carte wine with dinner is over priced.the only complaint so far is the pressure sales for the spa.
Very friendly staff. Very large rooms with nice amenities. Pools are nice. Restaurants are ok, buffet is better than other resorts buffets. Beach is rocky and very small. It rained a lot while we were staying and there isn't much to do during the day at the resort if it is storming.
Beautiful resort. From the time of your arrival, it truly feels luxurious! There are many pools and the beach. The chairs are saved early so plan ahead for that.
There are more scheduled activities then I thought so that was really fun! I hope to participate in more before we head home. Pool tables, ping pong, and foosball are available.
There are multiple options of places to eat- with a variety of cuisines. There are also occasional theme nights. Reservations are not needed except for the tepanyaki table in the asian restaurant.
The spa was top notch! You can hear the birds chirping outside. The hydro circuit was also very relaxing.
10 nights in this place was not enough. This is the best service we've ever had on vacation. Kendor at breakfast would be the start of our amazing days. Alex at the pool area was amazing. He would clean our glasses and help set up our chairs and towels. He was an amazing guy to talk to as well, and made us feel welcomed. All of the servers at the pool area were perfect, they were friendly and quick. Spa was also a great way to spend the time in the odd afternoon shower. The dinners were fabulous, at any restaurant. The French restaurant Bordeaux was our favorite, everything we had on the menu was delicious. Service at any restaurant was amazing, friendly and efficient. The rooms: very spacious and comfortable. Little things like lights turning on when you open the closet really helped. Double sinks in bathroom was also helpful. The mini bar had good selection and was restocked daily. The bed on patio was also very comfortable, not as comfy as the king size bed in the room though. There is a place on site to book excursions, I did a snorkel tour and was picked up on the beach. This place was perfection from the moment we checked in and we are already planning a return visit.
My wife and I went to Secrets Silversands in Cancun for our honeymoon in May this year, and we absolutely loved it. We already can't wait to go back for an anniversary in the future. The resort was beautiful, the room was really nice, and the staff was very friendly. One of the best parts about the resort was the chicken that they grilled next to the pool every day for lunch. There were a bunch of really good restaurants but we still had the chicken for lunch just about every day. It was juicy and tender and the seasoning was incredible. We're trying to find a restaurant back home that has chicken like it but so far we haven't been able to figure out what the secret (no pun intended) is.
Our room was fantastic. It was on the top floor of the main building, and it had a private balcony with a jacuzzi. The room was very spacious with a gorgeous view of the resort and the beach, the bathroom was giant and had the nicest, fanciest shower we've ever used, and everything from the pillows to the towels to the bathrobes were super soft and cozy. The resort staff knew we were there for our honeymoon, so our bed always had something new on it every night, such as rose petals in the shape of a heart, or colorful pebbles the spelled out "Love" (which we took home in a bottle as a momento). The cleaning staff were quick and thorough, and when we realized there was a small leak in our ceiling, there was a repair guy there to fix it within the hour.
The infinity pool was on of our favorite hangout spots because it was so big and had a great view of the ocean. The staff are always walking by to offer you drinks next to the pool. Our favorites were the Sexy Banana (it was practically a milkshake) and the Blackberry Tulum. The beach was nice and had great spots to relax by the water. Secrets actually does a really good job cleaning up the seaweed that washes up - it seemed like the tractor was always going back and forth. Some of the neighboring resorts didn't clean the seaweed as well and it was everywhere, but they were on top of it at Secrets.
Some of the staff members that we remember in particular were Dylan (on the entertainment staff) who was really funny, energetic, and friendly. Ricardo was on the entertainment staff and was a lot of fun. We had a good time joking around with both Dylan and Ricardo. There were a bunch of others who we liked too. Alfonso was great and we enjoyed seeing him.
All the restaurants were good, and we highly recommend the events they have outside in the evening. There was a mariachi band night, and another night with beautiful singers. Every night a woman was in the lower lobby making Spanish and Mexican hot chocolate, which was a show in-and-of itself. It also tasted really good.
4 stars. Good food. Great giant rooms. It's very humid in November. I prefer Excellence Playa Mujeres. Although this is a newer property and a pretty exact copy of that place.
Beautiful place, freindly staff. Depending on what time of the year you go it can be pretty busy and you may not get the best service. The rooms are spacious and clean.
Secrets Silver Sands would have been a full Plus if they would just loosen up a little bit here's a couple of issues that I had one being that I had to do for 31 people that I took to the resort communicated prior to arrival back and forth so that the group could at least be all together in the same building they will all holder the place that's number one they really need to loosen up a little bit with the man because the men that were with me in the group really were not happy because they insisted at dinner time that they had to have a collar shirt long pants and shoes not even dress sandals shoes give me a break period during the day for the buffet men could not wear a tank top to the buffet for breakfast everything had to be sleeping for them. Some of the people had this stink sulfur smell in their room Heck if I know where that came from. My major gripe is that everyone thought including myself that we were getting swim up rooms that we paid for no they are swim out rooms swim up swim out that is a play on words they could have called those rooms pool view rooms and still sold them but the fact that they call him swim out room who can tell the distinction between swim and swim up from so that was a pisser for everybody I do have to say that the food was good as the service in most of the restaurants was really good the service that we received in the Asian restaurant was terrible it appeared that the wait is all had an attitude. I thought their shows could have been a little bit better the Mexican show was very nice but on the whole they were average not half as good as the one that the Riu puts on. For me this was to Resorts with secrets that I stayed at and was not overly happy. I am not sure if I will tell secrets any more unless someone can tell me that the other secrets in Jamaica even in Mexico are not as stiff as The Silver Sands was. Oh yeah there was one of the thing the drinks pretty lousy also you would probably have to have 10 of them to get a buzz and I have never tasted pina colada without pineapple well that's my take on Secrets silversands my group told me never booked them in a Secrets again
Excellent resort and offered so many activities to that allowed us to stay busy yet relaxed. Overall a wonderful experience, and would definitely stay there again.
BEWARE!!! The beach is nonexistent. Besides the seaweed there are big sharp rocks in the water. It is impossible to swim. Do not waste your time and money. The resort is huge disappointment.
This place would be ranked very high if they kept up on maintenance better. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The facility is beautiful, and the food is decent. Some rooms have been recently renovated and others have much to be desired.
Great place. Enjoyed the stay and the people were great. As all inclusives go, they did great. Beaches could be better and breakfast outside would be nice.
This place is fantastic. All of the restaurants so far have been amazing. The location is good for tours to all the major attractions. The service has been impeccable. The staff is amazing and most speak very good English. The room was very nice, we got a junior suite, but was a little dated and needed a little upkeep. It was very clean though. This was our first time being at an all inclusive resort. Normally we are only in our rooms to sleep and are out adventuring and exploring the culture. This was certainly a change, which we got bored of very quickly. As nice as it is, I don't think we will ever do an all inclusive again. Overall I highly recommend this hotel, especially is you enjoy eating great food and having never ending drinks, they make a great mojito, and sitting by a pool/beach all day. If you use bookvip like we did, the sales pitch wasn't to bad and the 90 mins included a meal. I read reviews before so I knew not to buy, but it may be a good investment for certain people.
It has beautiful grounds, very friendly staff, and some of the best snorkeling around. Located 30 minutes outside the hotel zone, this is the perfect way to experience Cancun.
My husband and I celebrated our 15 wedding anniversary. We really enjoyed the level of customer service. We did run into a couple of issues; however, they were quickly resolved. The restaurants were awesome!
This place is absolutely stunning but there are two shining stars (amongst a truly wonderful staff of the hardest working people you'll ever meet) and they are the activity leaders, Emmanuel and Dylan. These two young men deserve a promotion, a lifetime of good fortune and just a ton of love. They are phenomenal - treat them well
I loved the level of service from the collaborators of the place, recommended the Mexican restaurant the manager and the super attentive hosts, I definitely return.
good place with nice entertainment team and activities. including good food. however not recommended for solo travelers unless you can merge with people
The hotel is wonderful, the facilities are very good but above all the staff k treated us super attentive, amble and very familiar. Something k highlight and super important a boy named Gustavo k is the k is in the service d the pool and was great to meet him xk was super attentive, kind, polite and helpful, nothing else we saw and had a place saved for us always pending c if we were missing something or we had some doubt in short a love d person and Mariana and Abigail very fun tb the only bad k would say k the beaches are not what I expected, it is not the typical Caribbean beach d turquoise water and food a little repetitive
An unforgettable and unbeatable experience! Everything a luxury, the excellent treatment, the restaurants with an exquisite food, the spacious and clean rooms, the incredible pools !!! a marvel!!! to repeat!
Take care if it! This review is for people that like to travel to all inclusive resorts. People- we need to respect and do our part of taking care of these beautiful places. When did it become ok for smokers to through their butts just anywhere or ok for people to eat (hamburgers/French fries) in the pool and leave their plate next to pool, which ended up in the pool. No wonder Mexico workers dislike us. People need to respect and do our part or we will not have these places that some of us pay top dollar to visit and enjoy! This trip was Disappointing!
Great service, great atmosphere! Beautiful pool and gardens. The only issue I had was we were a group of 10 and they wouldn t sit us together without purchasing wine or booking a private dinner . The beach was beautiful, the rocks in the ocean made it difficult if you wanted to go farther out , other than that, awesome! The staff was extremely attentive and helpful!!
Excellent hotel, very interactive, excellent size if you do not like huge, exquisite restaurants, especially Mexican and Italian, to say of a Mexican chain of elite hotels
Beautiful resort. The staff was attentive and courteous. We came as a large group for a wedding. They took care of everything. Everyone had an amazing time. The entertainment staff: Mayra, Dylan, Santiago, Ana of course Miguel were excellent! Would highly recommend the Seacrets brand resorts.
This place is a dump compared to some of its sister properties. We spent but 30-45 minutes here and after seeing two different rooms I felt I was in a Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn. Do NOT go to this property. I have been to other Secrets Resorts and they are in another league.
My husband and I had a great experience at Secrets Silversands. The staff is amazing and a few of our favorites were Charlie, Alfonso and Gustavo. They were a part of the entertainment staff that was one of our favorite parts about the hotel. The food was amazing and the pools were great as well.
Terrible customer service, I booked via a 3rd party booking site for my honeymoon and the hotel cancelled my booking 2 months before my wedding. I Recieved no email as to the reason for the cancellation nor any apology. I only recieved a cancellation notification from the 3rd party booking site. When I contacted the hotel directed, they simply said they could not accommodate my booking! Avoid this hotel!!!
I stayed there between 9-1-14 and 9-8-14. The resort has been the best resort thus far in Mexico. The service was spectacular! Everyone was so nice and no one expected a tip, which was extra nice. I like tipping people who don't have a hand out. The pools are great and the pool side bar is even better. All the restaurants on the resort were great! My favorite was the hibachi. The beach was not very good. The ocean was very rocky. But, you can walk down the beach a little to find a better one.
This resort does have a dress code in the evening of business casual. Bare in mind to bring nice clothes when you attend this resort.
I highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants to have a relaxing vacation.
Disappointed in food quality at some of the restaurants. One of the worst meals I've ever eaten anywhere was at Oceana. The Asian restaurant and the French restaurant we're fabulous. The service at all restaurants and bars were really good. The negatives are the rooms are rundown poor quality the rain shower head did not work so I had to use the handheld shower head the entire time. There was only one place to sit out on the balcony so if there was more than one person in the room you couldn't sit out on the balcony. The worst was 90% of the people that were their twenties and thirties and it was like going to Fort Lauderdale during spring break loud music constantly until 11:30 at night. No place to sit by the pool as all seating was always taken. My spouse got food poisoning on the last day and spent the entire day in bed. I never saw anybody throw up so much in my life! Staff did send up water, fruit, and sports drink. Everybody worked so hard there and like I said the service was unsurpassed but it was just kind of getting run down looking. I realize now that land-based all inclusive resorts are not for me. Give me a ship instead.
We have best memories from this hotel! Because my love proposed to marry here we got a romantic dinner by the beach, it was beautiful, delicious and the attention is amazing! Buffet food could be better. Also we loved entertainment team and their activities during the day. But evening it was a bit boring..
Very relaxing, spa service was amazing, great food, drinks are great, and very clean. The beach was a bit upsetting with all of the seaweed but that could also be seasonal. Overall great stay and would visit again
