Old and not updated. Lobby couches look filthy. Our master suite didn't even have a screen so we could hear the ocean. Our friends had a dining table but no chairs in their room. The beach is BARELY there...not at all like the pictures on the website. Their "night club", Desires is actually a sports bar that turns into a one-speaker sound system that plays VH1 as video and plays different music than the video playing. Our room had barely hot water. The ONLY redeeming factor was the wonderful service here. We will miss Delmy at the pool and some of the very kind bartenders at the veranda bar.

we couldn't be happier. It's not one of their more luxurious beautiful resorts but the people and the staff in the party environment for an all-adult is just wonderful. We've only been members of the unlimited vacation club for a year in a few months and we've already been to that secret silversands twice. Really enjoyed ourselves there.

My boyfriend and I returned home from our first visit to Mexico last week (10 day stay). We were very happy and impressed with our stay at the Secret Silversands resort. We were on the second floor of the 6th block. Room was very spacious (king size bed!),comfortable and clean. The maid on our floor looked after us very well regularly and routinely tending to the room and continuously restocking fridge. Great selection of drinks and cocktails...no complaints there! The food was exceptional! Genuinely no complaints. Huge selection at breakfast, outside dinning options for lunch (Oceana was lovely) and a variety of restaurants to choose from for dinner. Although there is a dress code for men (trousers and collared shirt/t shirt) you don't mind as much since all of the restaurants are individually, beautifully designed. We particularly enjoyed the French restaurant Bordeaux. Impeccable service and delicious food. Sergio was our lovely waiter each time we visited and Edgar went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely last night.
The beach is rather small but nevertheless nice for a walk, space to sunbathe and various watersports activities available along the shore front. Entertainment tends to finish around half 11 however the sports bar is open much later. Jorge our brilliant Amstar representative hooked us up with 3 amazing excursions away from the resort and arranged a night for us at Coco Bongos in Playa del Carmen. There is definitely plenty to do in and out of the resort. We highly recommend this hotel. All staff are so welcoming, friendly and hard working. We thoroughly enjoyed our all inclusive stay at Secret Silversands and would love to return xx

An excellent attention !!! I only have one small detail, we went to celebrate our wedding anniversary (35) and they forgot to put the band in our room and in the sheet that they gave us daily of the activities they did not put us either

Tried to rip us off with a lower rate, disgusting, filthy room when we paid for a partial ocean view room and to this day no sufficient apology or gesture has been made.

The plus sides are that the food in the restaurants and the service staff are great, however the management is appalling and need sorting out urgently!

This rating should have been a lot higher, but a 5 star resort this is not! Don't get your hopes up!

I have stayed at a few different secrets and this one was really disappointing. The room had a number of issues from torn curtains, dripping faucets and broken tv mount. The swim out was a waste if money as it was not even close to a Secrets swim out. Overall the resort felt old and tired and is in desperate need of a major uplift.

This is an adults only resort which is perfect if you just need a getaway to let loose. Chilling by the pool eating at many restaurants you are sure to get pampered and treated like a queen/king. Drink eat sleep all day with life entertainment in the evening and best of all 24 hour room service. The beach has beautiful white sand, but there are quite a few rocks in the water so swimming is not as desirable.

Excellent service and attention !!! Amanda Exceptional at the Bar Barracuda, Enya tireless receiving you from the breakfast in the world coffee and in the seaside meal. The star is Avelino's team: Osman, Rodrigo, Raul; Martin, etc with an incredible romantic dinner experience.

They charge what they want. If rent car care with the police, it is corrupt and only for rented cars to collect gratuity.

My wife and I stayed at Silversands for our honeymoon and it was an amazing experience. Everything is included, including food at multiple excellent restaurants and drinks at all of their many bars. The spa was also very good and we got a fantastic discount by attending a time-share-esque presentation that included breakfast and a tour of their flagship sister resort. Got discounts and coupons despite not signing on for anything. The staff is all extremely friendly and polite, and the rooms are also very nice. Couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon.

Best honeymoon spot. Reserved pool side room and could not have been any happier with my choice. Had the same waiter every day, Juan, who memorized our drinks day one and even brought us different ones to try. The pool concierge Gustavo was so helpful. Always bringing us extra towels and making our friends feel welcome when he brought us extra chairs each day so we all had one. Food was amazing and there was never a shortage of things to do if you didn t want to leave the resort. Surprised my wife on her birthday with a romantic dinner on the beach and we were upgraded to dinner on the water in the cabana. All day from room service breakfast, seaside cafe for lunch, and cabana dinner she was told happy birthday and completely spoiled by the staff. 100% recommend this place for any special occasion

This place is amazing. Lots of entertainment, and the staff really is trying to make our stay even better. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the beach. It's covered really bad with seaweed. They try to scope it up but there is so much we didn't even use the beach. The pools are great and everyone is in a good mood so it's lots of fun. If you do want the beach you can take a taxi over to Cancun and enjoy the amazing beaches there. This is a decent way to save a little money if the beach isn't a big deal to you. I really do recommend this place you'll enjoy it!

My husband and I stayed here for anniversary June ...

My husband and I stayed here for anniversary June 2016. When arrived our room, it was nice and clean. We turned on the water in the bathroom and the water completely brown coming out of the sink, shower and tub. We call guess service ask to change rooms..They said they would not change our room. They told us to let the water run for a while and it will get clear. Also they said its a problem in ever ROOM.. Who wants to spend their special anniversary doing this!, and having to bath in Rusty Water!!!? Yet, we agreed..We ran the water for 2 hours. It started to clear up ,but not completely. The water had a bad oder from running it and it made our room smell. We took pictures and show the guess service desk. A day later, we notice that our TV didn't work. We only had ONE English channel (news channel), and the On demand movie channel did not work. We again called guess service. Maintenanc came to our room and told us they fix it in 24 hour, but not now. They called guess services to report. But here is the confused part.-Guess services offered to change our room FOR A TV BUT NOT BROWN, RUSTY WATER. My husband and I experience was horrible. On top of that, a server staff at one restaurant waited on us.I ordered a Salmon. The menu says it contained sesame seeds, which I'm exstreamly allergic too. I clearly told him I was allergic to sesame seeds can he please make my salmon without it. He said yes, sure! He brought it out to me with the sesame seeds on my meat. I ask are these sesame seeds. He told me no its just small peices from the grill. IT WAS SESAME SEEDS! I could of died right there for his lie. Not gonna name names. We talk to the Service manager and basically he did nothing. They said they will talk to him. Me and my husband Left the resort the next day!!! Beware!!! A lot of other stuff went on but I shall not mention because it only my personal opinion. But the mention above are facts. Got pictures to prove it.

Terrible vacation

Terrible vacation

Room:
Jacuzzi was not working, they fixed in next day, but it was still working bad.
the door to the restroom is transparency and the door doesn't close well and there is no lock on the door. If you seat in the toilet, everyone can see, hear you and open the door(
Humidity is more than 80%, all my clothes were always wet.

Gym
The door to restroom without lock too. All towels were smelling so bad and it was not possible to use you them.

Restaurant:
Buffet works only morning and lunch, the food is not bad, but evening there is no buffet, only restaurant and you have to always charge your clothes, because there is a dress code. And it's not possible to eat some days just food without seating in the restaurant. Evening food is bad, especially an asian restaurant.

if you want to order private dining, please see my photo first. You will pay $260 and you will seat on the beach with seaweed, smell is bad. Also you will seat close to another couple, you will be separated by a sheet( Also people will walk next to you.

Resort:
It s not dependent of resort, but it s a big minus, the ocean is smell bad and looks bad, seaweed is everywhere
the daily program is mostly the same every day
it says it's the luxury resort, but it's not.
Only one plus in this resort, most of resort employees are very nice, but not all.

Healthcare services:
my husband hurt his leg when playing volleyball.
we were asking for hydrogen peroxide. To our room came the nurses, he asked my husband to sign the document and he can help him. My husband felt bad, he said I cannot read it now, I'll not sign it now, I need just hydrogen peroxide and nurses didn't help him at all, bc my husband din't sign this document

SPA
they offer massages for $260, really?!

Taxi:
In our last day we asked them to order a taxi, they did and the taxi has arrived us to wrong terminal (when we told to drive twice which airline we need) and we had to order one more taxi.
Also they charge you money once you seat to the car and they ask you if you want to left the tip. Really?!

I really disappointed that I spent my time in this resort at Mexico

A few days ago we celebrated our anniversary at the Hotel and Spa Secrets Puerto Morelos. And our experience was very pleasant, from the reception with an exquisite, refreshing glass of champagne and the words "welcome home".

The romantic, clean and quiet rooms are unique touches. The entire complex and its collaborators are warm.

Definitely courtesy and elegance are embodied in every corner of the place. The fact that they mention that it is a pleasure to serve me fills me with tranquility and the desire to return.

The spa was one of my favorite places without a doubt a unique and very relaxing experience. The romantic dinners were a culinary experience and full of romance.

However, the quality in the presentation of the restaurants is a detail that is not overlooked, as well as its flavor that satisfies the palate.

It has definitely been the best thing that has happened to us these days and it has managed to strengthen our relationship.

P.S. we look forward to returning home (Secrets Puerto Morelos)

BEWARE OF UNLIMITED VACATION CLUB!!! DO NOT FALL FOR IT. THEY TARGET MARRIED COUPLES AND MAKE THEM SIT IN A PITCH. THE SALES PEOPLE LIE TO YOU. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE OUT 8,000 AND NO ONE WILL HELP US. WE HAVE TRIED TO MAKE IT RIGHT WITH THEM, BUT NO ONE WILL HONOR WHAT THE SALES MEN TOLD US. NO MATTER WHAT THE HOTEL OFFERS YOU TO SIT IN A PITCH, DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!

SEE MY LETTER TO CORPORATE BELOW. IF YOU WANT DETAILS.

THE RESORT ITSELF IS AMAZING!!! YOU WILL NOT EB DISAPPOINTED, JUST STAY AWAY FROM UVC!

Omg best trip to Mexico we've had. Way cheaper than Playa del Carmen and Cancun, but higher quality for the most part. Great staff, who we became great friends with by the end. Food was stellar and options were plentiful. Rooms were like high end suites, and room service was better than some of the restaurants! The beach was nice but it was seaweed season so we didn't use it too much. Loved the resort, and we'll definitely return.

Food was horrendously bad, employees very nice, room beautiful except for stained chair and little tiny bugs in the coffee area. Very little English television. No one explained that I had to put a key card in a slot in the wall to turn on the electricity, no one explained how to turn on the rain shower head. Entertainment was just ok

The resort is awesome. The room looks great, lots of restaurants and different activities on and off the resort. The food tasted good at certain places but room service was hit or miss. All the servers and bartenders are really nice and personable. Tip is not required but is appreciated. Would definitely recommend.

Rooms are top notch, as are the restaurants, pools, and grounds. The beach visit perfect, but the pools more than make up for it. Staff are attentive and beyond courteous. We would come back every year of we could!

This is the first all inclusive resort that we have ever stayed at. We had a great time with the entertainment crew and hanging out at the bars. The staff were all very nice and the facility was clean and decent maintained.

We stayed a week at Secrets Silversands for our 10 year anniversary. The resort itself was small, but beautiful with several pools to choose from. The main pool was the most active and loudest, usually hosting dinner kind of activity with loud party music. Other pools were much quieter and more secluded. The beach was fairly well maintained given the seaweed problem all of Cancun is experiencing, much better than some neighboring resorts. The rooms were pretty good, but are showing some minor wear and tear. Mostly just aesthetic things. I would say the best part about the resort is the staff. We were blown away by the resort staff. Whether it was the entertainment crew or the wait staff, we were never in need of anything for very long and always had something to do. We will definitely go again.

Unlimited Luxury is the theme of this resort and they nailed it! Amazing staff, courteous, professional, accommodating! A couple of hiccups but they made amends, and went over and above. Nice resort, beach is not the greatest we've seen, but the pools were clean. Restaurants were amazing, the morning and lunch buffets were perfect for our needs!

We decided to give Riviera Maya a try, and purchased through Costco 6 nights at Secrets Silversands. We were a little underwhelmed, but in summary, the week was ~OK. The Lobby was nicely decorated and we felt that the quality & quantity of the bars were more than adequate. The staff at the restaurants and bars were also attentive and very kind. The activities seemed OK, with some good live music throughout the stay.

The facility in total was just OK, with almost no view at all of the small beach, unless you walked all the way out to it. We were offered an ocean view room for $500 USD, which we declined. The room was exactly as pictured, and had a private balcony, with a twin mattress, which worked great for napping. The quality of food was pretty good, with the lasagna and the steaks being our favorites.

The taxi situation was slightly irritating as the rates seemed very high for MX; $40 USD round trip to Croco Cun Zoo (great place) at less than 7 Km away (13.6Km total) and almost $30 USD one way, 12 Km to Jungle Spa (the best massages). The lobby had 2 ATM's, and one of them was broken. The functioning ATM would not accept my MXN debit card (I work in MX) and wanted to charge $5.75 fee (I accepted) and $23 USD foreign transaction fee (I declined) on the US debit card.

Lastly, we did accept the resorts offer to attend a marketing presentation at Zoetry, which was supposed to be 2 hours, and with transportation it was 4 hours. We received $300 credit which was accepted by our Best Day travel excursion planner toward Xplor (good time) and Xoxomilco (highly recommended!).

Great place to party, and even has some quiet spots to chill out. Didn't like the pushy sales people, for excursions, when you check in. No real system for checking in...just sit and wait til they decide they are ready for you. Food was ok, but nothing to brag about. Pool wait staff is fantastic!

We booked though one of those travel websites wish I could remember the name but we were supposed to stay at a rui hotel last minute they changed us to this place we paid to have Concinerge service again you want that get your wallet out! Room fantastic room b only because we had ants in the 1st room and we had to change rooms, music till 3-4am so forget sleep, you want to drink 7 days straight and not sleep that s probably the place for you, a lot of seaweed on the beach.

TLDR food=terrible, housekeeping=non existent, service=mediocre, accommodations=bad...

My husband and booked one of their over pool honeymoon cabanas for 4 nights. They have 3 cabanas. If you insist on staying here, which I would not recommend and book one. Make sure you don t get the 1st one. It is over the maintenance shed cabana and I can hear employees all night. It does not have a staircase into the pools like the others. It is a standard ground level pool ladder, however they installed it on the porch so the 1st step is chest high. Hopefully you have been practicing yoga and have exceptional upper body strength or you won t be enjoying that aspect. Should I mention the other pools like ok, this pool is peeling and gross with debris because why bother clean it for the people paying triple?

Housekeeping doesn t bother coming, even if you ask.

Employees steel valuables.

Food is disgusting and will make you sick enough to end up in the ER.

Incase it wasn t clear, I would not recommend nor would I ever return even if it was free and someone paid me to come back.

Great food and service is wonderful. 8 restaurants and the only buffet is breakfast time. Lunch and dinner options are all a la carte. Many pools with the central one including a swim up bar (but I would pass on that for the volume of people drinking all day and never leaving the pool.. think about it). Pool and beachside bar service is continuous so you are never without a drink. The beach is small and staff can't keep up with hauling away the knee high berm of seaweed. Go for the pools and the food and the service.
