I stopped by without an appointment because my low tire pressure light was on. Amanda, my service rep took care of me right away. She checked the tires and suggested a system diagnostic. After a short time the good news was ...tires ok. But one indicator was not functioning.
Overall it was a very nice experience. I was very pleased.

Sales staff was excellent. Finance department is excellent. Service is terrible. We bought our car 2 months ago and still no rain guards. Hen they told us to bring it in my wife sat there for 1.5 hours to find out there still didn't have them in stock yet. No doubt you should buy a car here, just plan on bringing it somewhere else for service.

My journey began online- Rob from Secor had some of the best communication and was so easy to deal with. When we finally decided what we wanted to test drive, my husband and I brought our two year old to test drive a new wrx. Paul meet us in the parking lot- listened to what we were looking for, and immediately got the paperwork together so my husband could test drive. My two year old had space to move around and everyone was so nice to us! After the test drive, I realized that we might do better if we bought one for me as well! We started looking at pricing- Kevin from finance found better pricing for us that we were originally thinking. The GM, Paul, was honest, upfront and didnt make us do the back and forth thing that we all hate! Sales Paul handled the entire process with such a friendly attitude and both Paul and Kevin made our pickup process super efficient and fast! I would definitely recommend purchasing a Subaru from Secor and will start my next car searching journey there again!

The Service Dept has gone far downhill. The people are rude and condescending and dont know what is going on with their own system. They blame the customer for their own ineptness . I have bought cars and had them serviced at Secor for 15 years but that will no longer be the case.

I had a good experience with leasing my new 2019 Crosstrek. A co-worker recommended Evert so I set up an appointment with him. He went out of his way to schedule me for an appt an hour before the dealership even opened. He did not pressure me into anything I wasn't interested in. He was very upfront that it would be difficult to get the color I wanted which was Cool Grey Khaki. He did a great job tracking one down that had all of the features I wanted. As a woman, he treated me with respect and dealt solely with me even with my boyfriend present for both the test drive and the pick up. Same thing with Angel. During all of the paperwork and dealing, Angel dealt solely with me and treated me with respect. Their customer services was excellent. If anything, I wished they were a bit more communicative about the process of tracking down my car. I had to call on my own to check on the status multiple times. Each time there wasn't any more news but I would have rather had communication that they were still in the process of getting it than to not. Otherwise, I had a great experience. My boyfriend will be purchasing a Subaru from Secor when he is ready to get a new car because of how great of an experience I had.

We love the handling, performance, reliability, and service of the Subaru. I've had three Outbacks over the past 20+ years and my wife just switched from a BMW to a 2014 Subaru Legacy. Given the variety of weather conditions we see in Connecticut, rain, ice, snow, it's the best all weather car I've ever driven. It's AWD, relatively high clearance, and ample storage suit my driving needs just fine. Other than routine maintenance, the cars rarely need service. Compared to other cars we've had, maintenance is less expensive and done more quickly. Secor makes it quite convenient for you if you need to get a lift back to work while your car is being worked on. It's the only shop I've ever dealt with that so actively follows up by phone and email inquiring as to your satisfaction. This, to me, demonstrates the staff's passion for providing quality service. I'll offer a 'thumbs up' for Secor Subaru.

I have been a Secor customer since 2009 and have never been anything other than impressed with the service. Carlos helped me into my 2006 Impreza and more recently into my 2008 WRX. Any time I have any questions or need service Carlos is right there to help and will go out of his way to make sure I'm satisfied. If you're in the market for a Subaru this is the only place in New England to go. Secor gets my highest praises.

My husband call today about a used Subaru had a general question if the price was negotiable and what we were willing to pay. Apparently Carlos did not like the question because his response was "your not going to pay that here" and hung up the phone on my husband. Even though we were interested in buying a used car now we were definitely in the future going to buy a new Subaru and would have gladly given my business again. I guess not! Not to mention my husband owns a business. Customer service I guess it not this dealers forte.

Combine great vehicles, helpful, knowledgeable sales and service staff, with honest, courteous treatment and you have what I experienced at Secor Subaru. I am cautious, so I do my research and used a major consumer organization to check out the car and the deal. Russ got us a great car at a fair price. Even a minor glitch finding a car with just the combination of accessories we wanted was handled professionally. This is my fourth car purchased from this dealer.

We purchased a new Legacy from Evert at Secor just a couple weeks ago, and the experience could not have been better! It took just a few minutes to see how professional and knowledgeable he was after he drove up in a beautiful car that exactly matched my needs. The man is as honest as can be and it did not feel like he was selling us anything but rather like a father trying to find a car for his own son. The entire experience from the manager to the financial department was pleasant, so I would highly recommend Secor to anyone looking for the same experience my family and I had.

I've been there several different times and have sent people down to the parts department to get parts for me and every single time the parts department is super rude and unhelpful. I've had them tell me that they don't have a part in stock that I know that they do because I have the ability to check their inventory. I'm not going to waste time driving down to New London just to find out that they don't have it. so I checked their inventory to make sure that they have the part that I need and I go down to pick it up in person and I've been told multiple times that they don't have it or they can't find it and when I tell them that their inventory says they have it and can they please look then they look for it and find it. If your looking for a nice helpful parts department go to holmgren or valenti. At least those guys act like they want to help you and it isn't a major inconvenience for them to do their job.

cons: communication between the staff seemed a little off, we had a plan to drop off our new car for a wax coating and no one really knew we were coming, but they immediately helped us and straightened it out.

I brought in my Legacy for oil change. After a while the service advisor came in to tell me that the rear brake pads and rotors are too rusty to resurface and hence need replacement. It was a total shock to me since I just had 60K maintenance less than 4 months ago! Back then no one even told me that the brake pads were low, and now they are saying the rotors need to be replaced! The advisor first said that he couldn't find the record of my last maintenance. Then he said that the person who had done my maintenance last time no longer works here. To me that was a convenient way to shift the blame. The whole experience was a disappointing one.

I have to say Carlos Pineda is the best salesperson I ever dealt with. He listened to all my concerns (sometimes a little too much because I truly am a "worry-wart"), and treated my new car delivery as if it was his own. I like the way the dealership is set up for service, knowing you can get body work done at Secor Volvo right up the road if you ever need it. Everyone else at the dealership was very kind and helpful - just a fantastic buying experience. I highly recommend Secor Subaru!

Had a friend contact them with the car I wanted, they had it ready to see/test at the start of our meeting. Got me a loan within an hour (went to lunch and came back). They dealt with the license plates and had it ready to take home before the end of the business day (entire process was only a few hours). I'm sure the fact that I knew the exact car I wanted before I got there helped, but was impressed by how quickly everything was processed!

Was driving home from working a half day on Saturd...

Was driving home from working a half day on Saturday on I 95. was driving 98 chevy blazer when 4 of the 5 studs holding the front passenger tire snapped off 17 miles from home. Called a tow truck to get home. I had visited Secor Subaru previously and spoke with Russell Jolly. I had his card, so gave him a call told him what had happened and asked what were the chances of having someone pick myself and girlfriend up and bring us to the dealership. Russell said he was glad I was not hurt nor had I wreaked and said he would be at our house in 10 or 15 mins. He showed us several choices of Forester as we wanted a CPO. We test drove a 2016 Forester Premium with AWP. We both liked it, that was our choice. Russell told us the finance manger was on vacation till later in the week. However he arranged for a loaner till the finance cleared. This is the "Above and Beyond" Thank you Russell and Secor Subaru great experience and treatment before, during and after the sale.

I realize that I am a huge procrastinator...I've had my car for four months and still haven't written a review!

I was a first-time car buyer, and I must say that Paul Holden and Brian Ichter were tremendously helpful in guiding me through the process. I had a million questions, and they were very patient and spelled everything out very clearly and simply. It definitely made it easier writing that big check and signing up for those payments knowing that all the details had been thoroughly explained to me! No swindling sales talk here, just upfront information. They even helped me with the insurance and registration!

I was also impressed by their willingness to work with my schedule. I work until 5pm, and they were very accommodating, even staying open later than their regular business hours so we could get everything done in one go.

I love my new car. I bought a 2014 Subaru Impreza, and it's a beautiful little car--great gas mileage and fun to drive. It's a perfect car for commuting now, and in a few years I can see it transitioning well to a family vehicle. And I'm confident that it will last a long time, given the excellent maintenance and service provided by Secor! The Auto Body Shop has already provided me with flawless service after a deer hit my car on Friday October 17th and damaged the driver's side fender and bumper. I brought the car in to Secor on Monday the 20th, and by Friday the 24th, I had my car back in my driveway, good as new! The repairs were flawless, and the auto body team even cleaned my interior. This was my first time dealing with this sort of thing, and Anthony, the body shop manager, was incredibly helpful in navigating the insurance company.

Both the sales and service teams at Secor Subaru are top-of-the line and I could not be happier.

Our family has purchased 3 Subarus from Secor and has generally been very pleased with both sales and service by their friendly and competent staff. On this visit I noted several changes in personnel and work flows that accompanied the newly renovated service area. Signs instructed customers to use a new service lane. Since another car was parked in the service lane under the breezeway, I pulled in behind it. After I came inside to the sign-in window, I was told that I shouldn't park in the service lane as that blocks traffic. This same employee was efficient to the point of being brusque when I commented on new procedures like her "walk-around" inspection. The routine 75K service took twice as long as had been estimated (2 h vs 1 hr) and no apology or explanation was offered when my car was ready -- this is the reason for a 4 rating instead of 5. There were several new faces in the service dept and while the new staff were courteous, they seemed more impersonal. I did recognize the employee who checked me out. He gave me a point-by-point review of the service results before processing my payment. In summary, the "vibe" in the Service Dept feels different now, perhaps not a surprise given all the recent changes. Secor still has free coffee and donuts and good WiFi in the waiting area, and my car still gets a complimentary wash (exterior) after service.

My husband and I just completed the purchase of our new XV Crosstrek. The entire experience was easy and actually a pleasure! Our salesman Evert was the BEST. He was very informative about the vehicle and very polite and easy going. We never had the typical salesman pressure that we have experienced in many other dealerships. Even though we were only "looking", we actually signed the purchase agreement immediately. Paul Holden was also great to work with as we ended up trading in my treasured BMW 128i convertible. I'm still a little sad about that but come winter time and driving in the snow I know I will have no regrets! All in all, a fantastic experience. I highly recommend Secor Subaru!

I bought my Subaru used and when I needed some warranty work done I had no choice but to find an official Subaru dealer for the service. I asked around RI and no one had a standout option in the immediate area. I did some online looking and realized New London was not so far from southern RI, and so I took a chance. I remain a very happy Secour Subaru service customer and recommend them to everyone in RI, especially Southern RI. The waiting room is equipped with private work-space desks, so you can wait and get work done. (Free donuts & coffee are great too.) As a side benefit, I try to arrange my appointments and work schedule so I can also sneak in a trip to the Lyman Art Museum in New London which I otherwise really never get too. So, yes, RI - you can drive 45 min out of state and get great Subaru service and experience life just over the line!

I had a check engine light on for a potentially serious issue. I have always been wary of service departments of other dealers that seem to come up with mystery problems requiring hundreds of dollars to fix. But during the four plus years I have been servicing my Forester at Secor Subaru, I have consistently been treated with the respect and honesty you would hope to get everywhere. So I knew I could leave the car and whatever they diagnosed would be an honestly needed repair. What a pleasure to be given the car back the next day and be told that there was no charge and only a small part was replaced. Having a service department that you can trust to do only what you really need at a fair cost takes the stress out of car maintenance.

My wife and I purchased a 2015 Subaru Forester from Secor Subaru on August 7. We were extremely happy with the entire process, from our initial visit and test drive, price and financing discussions, signing papers to finalize the purchase, introduction to the features and operation of the vehicle, and the quality of the vehicle upon receipt.

Dan Mirles was our Sales Associate. We stopped by the dealership without an appointment a week ago, and though Dan was busy with another customer he took the time to welcome us and have an associate come out to answer questions and join us on a test drive. We drove a 2015 Forester with CVT transmission. Initially my wife and I were interested in a standard transmission vehicle, so upon our return Dan had another Forester available for us to drive, this time with the six speed standard. This turned out to be a very valuable test drive, because both my wife and I (to our surprise) preferred the CVT over the standard and opted for this transmission !

The price we received was quite fair, and the dealer financing options through Subaru were very favorable. We did not feel pressured during this part of the process at all. We returned several days later to sign the remaining paperwork and take receipt of the vehicle. Dan was knowledgeable and efficient in going through the various papers. He also gave us a very good ~15 minute tutorial on the dashboard and safety features on the car. In particular, we were pleased that he got my wife's iPhone synced up to the car - that saved me the hassle of reading through the owner's manual and figuring it out myself.

We've had the car several days now and are very happy with it. It rides very well, is quiet, has great visibility, nice acceleration, and is very comfortable. We highly recommend Secor Subaru and Dan Mirles to any in Southeastern CT who are looking to purchase a Subaru.

Unfortunately very poor customer service. I don't even know the salesman's name, because he never said it. Said absolutely nothing about the cars when I saw them. Didn't offer to show me features. Didn't describe it. Didn't offer to drive it. I asked him to drive one and he said nothing from the time we got in through the entire drive. I asked what the difference between 2018 and 2017 model was and he said "everything."

If I could give zero stars, I would. Awful experience. Never going back or would ever recommend this place to anyone. Bill was awful to deal with, rude, and inconsiderate. They had my car for a week for an over heating problem and they claimed there was nothing wrong with my car. The day after I got my car back, it over heated on my way home from work (an hour drive) and I was stranded. Bill left me threatening voicemails and hung up on me when I called.

Refusal to help a safety recall on a 2006 forester control arm that correded from salted roads. This problem has taken years of fighting. Every single front suspension part has had to replaced as a result; tie rods, cv axle, hubs, struts, rack and pinion, sway bar, ball joints, bushings. LEMON. Less than 120k miles. This car was sold and serviced by secor then moved to colorado. Major regrets in subaru.

I had my Forester in for an oil change and tire rotation be for a trip to Pa. The service dept. checked the car over and found that I had a cracked steering belt and called to let me know. I am so glad they check things over so carefully!

After a number of bad experiences buying cars, Secor Subaru has renewed my faith in the car buying experience. The sales staff are helpful and accommodating, the service team prepared the car to look great, and the finance team are not pushy or unscrupulous. I worked with Russ and he will bend over backward to win your trust and earn the sale; strongly recommend dealing with him. I can't believe that I'm using the word "honest" but I believe that Secor Subaru is one of the most honest dealerships that one could choose!

We just purchased our 12th or 13th or ? possibly more - Subaru at Secor (we've lost count because our family has gotten so many here over the years!) Brian Ichter made the process as smooth and easy as possible - this is a no pressure/no drama dealership which is why we come back, car after car. You cannot beat the experience - we are loyal Subaru owners - both of us and both of our adult kids drive Subarus from Secor (all silver!) I would highly recommend going to Secor and asking for Brian Ichter if you want the lowest stress/highest satisfaction car purchase experience.

This review is long overdue. My wife and I were in the market for a new Subaru. We had stopped by another dealer with the intent to buy just a few days prior to meeting Evert. It was as if the other dealer didn't actually want to sell us a car...and so glad they didn't! We stopped by to see Evert on a Sunday. I told him what we were looking for and he made it happen. It was the easiest deal I've ever made. I've bought and sold several cars in my life and wish that each time it had been with Evert. Anyone I hear of in the market for a Subaru hears about my experience and urge them to go to Secor and see my man Evert!

And...I was worried about the follow up service. I'll be honest, we've used Secor Volvo for service of our other vehicle. For some reason the two dealerships, although under the same name, are night and day! An oil change at Secor Volvo may take 2.5 hours...at Subaru, 45 minutes, they stand behind their word. Very impressed so far...and my wife loves the Crosstrek!

I have been a regular customer for over 20 years - I bought our 4th vehicle from Secor last year. The latest attempt to book my car in for a regular service has been very frustrating. I started last week but kept getting put on hold and passed around. Finally someone answered and said they were busy and they would call me back this week to make an appointment.

Three days pass - no response. So I call Subaru again. This time I was able to make an appointment the following week. But when I called back to ask a follow up question, the same thing happens - put on hold, passed around finally getting a request for a voice message that gets no response.

When my 2014 Jeep started being a burden on my wallet, I decided to consider a lease. I didn't know what vehicle I wanted to be my next, but the reviews on Subarus swayed my opinion. My family has worked with Dan Mirles over 4 car deals now and he really makes the process easy, stress-free, and honestly kind of fun! At other dealerships, I have felt a lot of pressure to buy a car, but at Secor Subaru, the salespeople bring you into their family atmosphere and made me feel great about the decision I made to lease a Subaru Outback. I was woken up to a phone call at 8am on a Saturday, 1 1/2 hours before my scheduled appointment, saying they don t have diagnostics techs on call for the day the schedule was made for. Watch out. Simple errors or miscommunication make you feel unappreciated and undervalued as a customer.

Stood there for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us and then were told someone else would be right with us. 15 minutes later we decided to just leave since at that point we had been there for just about 25 minutes. Besides the fact most of the used cars on the lot didnt have either a price or the mileage sheet on them. Poor service overall

Our family has been a customer of Secor Subaru s Service Department in New London, CT since 2009 and they have consistently provided excellent service for all of our Subarus. (We have owned twelve and currently have three.) Their customer service representatives readily explain the service each of our cars requires and what service was provided at each visit. For the past nine years, we have relied on the expertise of their very experienced technicians to keep our Subarus in good and safe operating condition at all times. Overall, this was a pretty good buying experience. The salesman, Paul, was a pleasure to work with. He efficiently handled the transaction. He was knowledgeable about the features of the vehicle. Every dealership tries to upsell in the finance office and this was no exception.

If I could give this dealership no stars I would. Drop my car off for a simple oil change, tires rotations and wiper changes. I drop my car off at 11 A.M, didn t heard anything from the dealership, so I decided to call to make sure everything was good. I called around 3 PM in the afternoon. The person that answer the phone told me that my car was still not ready and it was going to be ready around 4-4:30 PM. Received a text saying that my car is ready to go at 4:15 PM went there any nothing. Around 4:25 PM finally talked to someone and guess what my car was not fully ready. The lady asked me if I wanted to wait to get my car washed.. and I obviously said no!!!! I waited for my car for about 5:30 hrs... for a simple maintenance. Like how???? That s my question I don t understand. I m really upset also at my other dealership my wipers are included in my maintenance plan, so why did I had to pay for them... I m for sure not going back.

Just brought a 2014 Honda Civic and couldn't love it more. A shoutout to my Salemen Russ Jolly and Dan too for helping out as well. Russ from the beginning was just so down to earth and honest which is refreshing to see. Even Karl from Finance was a pleasure to deal with as well. Secor Subaru is truly a cut above the rest. Buying my car I had no problems. All my problems are with the service department. First off, every time my car went into this shop for repairs, they either never called me when my car was ready or didn't have the parts for the repairs and didn't inform me. Second, I recently had to have major repairs done on my outback because of subpar service. During my last tire rotation two of my lug nuts were not put back on my tire, the my axles were blown due to apparent tampering with the seals on it, and they put new brake pads on old rotors before I had even purchased the vehicle. I will not be returning to this shop and I recommend anyone buying a used vehicle from secor to have another mechanic look at it.

Very friendly personnel. The test drive was a nice route, both back roads and highway, giving us a chance to really get a feel for the Subaru we wanted. We visited four Subaru dealerships and this one gave us the best deal.

Edit: After further inspection, the car is missing 2 headlight covers and bumper reinforcement foam fell off and was blocking the front lower grill, risking the car from overheating.

Dealership owner Charlie Secor has not communicated with me since the original incident. Lied to me just to get me out sight. Haha

I'm glad this incident is spreading inside the Subaru WRX/STI owners in the Tri-State Area through social media, not just Google reviews.

I hope my experience here helps someone else, Stay away from this dealership at all cost.

AVOID AT ALL COST! FULL STORY BELOW!

Brought my '18 Subaru STi to this service center for a TSB/Recall for Headlight Replacements. After 5 days of visiting the dealer to get the job done on the 5th visit the job took place and the quality of work ended up being BEYOND absurd, front bumper was installed horribly wrong, damaged, Headlights didn't align at all, they didn't even install the light bulbs back into the new units either. Simply a rushed job from start to finish...

The Service Manager John Donovan, came outside the service center to lie about the job, insult me, disrespect me, and blow me off after I pointed out the poor quality of workmanship by his "Master Tech". This "man" lacks integrity and should not be the face of this shop.

Master Tech workmanship was beyond poor, Installed everything wrong, didn't double check his work, nor inspected the lights to be working...TWICE.

The Service Adviser Amanda was AWESOME, She did her job right and I am pleased with her performance. She did her job right from start to finish, she also shows a lot of potential and could easily run the service department as the Service Manager.

After this JOKE of customer service by John Donovan & His "Master Tech", I had to deal with the owner of the dealership Charlie Secor, who had to keep the car an additional 5 days to get the car 100% again. He had to go through an embarrassment as he thought the car was done.

After I paid another visit, and I inspected the car, I found another set of bulbs missing. AGAIN, the master tech failed to double check his work. I had to come back the next day, for a total of 10 Days for a 1.5HR job.

The car was done 100% and It was delivered by the owner himself, Charlie Secor.

Charlie is a great person, being in the business for a long time and cares about his brand and customer base. We had an informal meeting about all of this and I expressed my thoughts about this entire experience and I came up with a positive solution for the wasted time and headaches, I will wait for him to come through with his word.

I met Emily one day while I was strolling through ...

I met Emily one day while I was strolling through the used car lot. She showed me a few more, and then we discussed some of the things I was looking for in a next car. Over the course of a few weeks, she alerted me to possibilities by email. Last Sat afternoon, she sent an email about a low mileage 2010 Outback. I went down, test drove the car and 30 mins later I filled out the paperwork to buy it! I picked the car up today, and could not be happier.

Emily was perfectly delightful to work with in buying a car. She has excellent customer services skills, she is very knowledgable about Subaru cars, and the added bonus was having a female salesperson to work with which is just a nice thing.

My very first impression of Secor Subaru wasn't the greatest.
When I walked in the door, not 1 person greeted me upon entering (although many made eye contact with me). As i stood there for a few moments, a sales associate yelled for another associate "Dave" to help me, even though the 1st associate was clearly not busy. Dave yelled back, "At Lunch".

Finally Brian came over to me and helped me. My intention was to buy a car, which i did. (Poor Dave lost on that sale!)

Brian was pleasant and extremely helpful. He constantly stayed in contact with me via text message and email while i was out of town, to insure i would have my new car when i got back in town.

I will go back to Secor, only to do business with Brian.
