8 years my kids have played sports with the VAA. I am not happy with the coaches. For football. I don't think coaches should coach their in children. I am disappointed in the lack of caring for the other players. I was told that our son should switch teams because,he wasn't good enough for their team. That he the coach didn't want deal with our son. He wanted a winning team. And, because he played our son he was losing. Who and what coach says that? Maybe, he isn't good enough. But, to say it in front of him. Shame on the coach and association for allowing this behavior from grown adults. I read the rules. Coaches only have to play Your child 20% of the game. I am ok with that. I wasn't asking for him to play the whole time. Just put him in a position that he knows. Then to tell my husband that him sitting on the sidelines makes him nervous, because he feels that his coaching is being judged. When actually, my husband was making sure our son was doing his plays right and that they have been working on. I am appalled and disgusted by this behavior. Not to mention all the swearing the players do amazes me. Shame on the coaches. Coaches are supposed teach and guide players. Teaching them the game. Teaching them to help other teammates. Being a team. But, when you have adults actually like this
How can I expect 8th graders to act any different. Remember, this are still young boys. The politics in sports now days is unbelievable. Parents and coaches a like. I would rather have my children stand out than ever fit in. I am so glad this is our last year of this. I hope this helps other parents who feel the same as we do. That are afraid to stand up for what is right. FYI, I AM OK WITH YOU YELLING AT MY KID FIR MESSING UP. I AM NOT OK WITH YOU TELLING HIM TO SWITCH TEAMS, BECAUSE HE'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU TEAM. THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO DEAL WITH HIM. I hope things change. Coaches if you are Stressed and don't really want to coach and deal with parents questions, Don't coaches. Leave that for the leaders.
Has to be the worst organization ever. So if your child played baseball last year and you got a refund because their season was canceled or they played in the Senior League you can't register unless you do it through the mail. That tells me that there's an error in their system and they're too lazy to get it fixed typical St Croix Valley Athletic Association
