I want to make a claim. Today on December 20, 2019 I had the JAT 81 flight from SCL to PNT scheduled at 14:41. We arrived at the airport at 12:45, 2h before as recommended.
When we passed the security On the screen it was announced that the flight was delayed without information from the door and it stayed that way until around 4pm there was no more information about this flight. You can check it in the attached photo that at 15:49 there was still no door information. There were also no audio announcements of the shipment.
At 17h we left the terminal and went to the jetsmart checkin balcony where they inform us that the flight departed at 15:57
There were many passengers on the same flight with the same problem as us. We had no help from anyone.
We lost a whole day of our vacation at the airport. We had to book an Other flight, we lost the money from the hotel reservation in Puerto natales.
This is as much a failure of jetsmart as it is of your airport since it did not provide a quality service to its passengers. You allow a flight to depart without door information or audio announcement. With so many passengers missing, nobody wondered what was wrong? Overall a fine airport. I appreciate the free Wifi. However, the customs line can be unacceptably long. Hope that your flight arrives when there aren't any other flights coming in.
Also, take the bus into town for just 1800 pesos. Ignore the overpriced cabs and share vans.
I entered the airport and they immediately guided me to the covid controls .... everything flowed smoothly and very organized .... I found that the facilities are comfortable and offer protection to prevent the spread of the virus.

Very nice, many stores. The prices are not accessible (as in any airport). The air conditioning is VERY high always. It is VERY cold inside the airport, wear a coat if you are going to make a long stopover. Free WiFi, it must be renewed periodically by accessing a link.
This airport is supposed to be modern. Terminal E is a 30 minute walk. NO there is not a train which you can use. The moving walkway is intermittent HORRIBLE. The designer and the fool-fools who agreed to this design should be punished. Fly in international and you are exhausted get ready for a LING walk. The shops are almost all corner by one company Britt Shops. There is a decent variety of restaurants until you get to terminal E which is barren.
The airport is very large, clean and well organized.

The only negative is going to the water, there are no drinkers at the airport, if you want to drink water, there are 2 options: 1 you buy bottled water; or 2 you drink the tap water as people here do.

Travellers arriving to Santiago international airport - BEWARE! We arrived late about 9.30pm from Ecuador on Oct 12, 2017. Processing was slow we exited about 10.15pm. We also had to get some Chilean money for the taxi. Our driver we had ordered was not there. A well dressed Chilean man in a suit, came to ask us in English if we were ok. He was walking about with a walkie talkie, he looked and acted like he was helping tourists to transport - there is usually a person in this role in most big airports in South America. He said he would help us. He ordered a car to come on his walkie talkie. We got in and then he did too. The driver, drove at speed towards Santiago. The suited man made sexual remarks to us. They dropped us in a poorly lit area and demanded all our cash - which wasn't much(luckily). Please if you are approached by a man like this at Santiago airport - do not go with him. His English is very natural, he was sympathetic to us, being stuck there. We could've got any taxi but he insisted he would find the best transport option for us. We have travelled a lot and know the risks but this guy was not sleazy at the airport, he was the most dangerous con man, because he was so believable. It was late and we were tired. We all get tricked sometimes, these people make a career out of it. Please post if anyone has had a similar experience with a man fitting this description at this airport.

Many queues for everything .... and carisimo ... many flights leave them on the track and move with buses, which delays a lot for connections with other flights or trips from the bus terminals, especially flights from Iquique to Santiago with departures from 20:00 hrs onwards.
