We went specifically to see the Cats and Dogs exhibit, but it was also our first time visiting Science World. I was a little underwhelmed. I would say that it is definitely more enjoyable for families with young children than for just adults.

The Pixar exhibit was just so so. More informative than interactive which is a shame specially for young kids that have very short attention span and not really into anything technical.
First time at Science World and it was a fun experience, enjoyed The Bodies Exhibit and Ripleys Believe It Or Not. I would come back during the adult after hours to more throughly enjoy the exhibits.
Always an amazing time when I go. I just the PIXAR exhibition three times and enjoyed it every single time I went. Awesome place to take kids and even a fun date idea :)
I went for the first time this last week with my boyfriend who had been many times. We had fun getting sucked into the puzzles on the first floor and then into the hands on exhibit upstairs. We were dissapointed though when a swarm of rude and unsupervised high schoolers showed up at the end of the day. They were loud and pushing children out of the way, making lude gestures at multiple stations, and there are still many small children around. I was just disappointed there was no adults required to be with them, and that none of the staff stepped in to corral them. I also was not really a fan of the Ripley's exhibit but that's just my taste and I will be looking forward to others that better suit me. All in all I had a fun time, I will be back, but maybe I will try going earlier in the day to try to avoid disrespectful teenagers.
Not great if you're older than 10. Definitely not worth the $20 admission. Also, you can't get an aquarium membership discount if you're using the student rate.
It's an awesome place! Although, the most part of Science World is for children, there are some interesting things for adults! The Pixar Experience is ready good! Great place to go with your children or if you don't have any, like me , it's also great!
Science World isn't as good as it once was. Many of the interaction centres were broken. Very little staff to assist with problems or questions. Overall not worth the price tag.
It is an interactive museum, very fun, what I enjoyed the most was the exhibition of the science behind Pixar, it is very illustrative as well as allowing children and adults to test how light is handled on a stage, even how to move the arms of a animated character, highly recommended for young and old !!! I took 3 hr in just that experience !!!
Great for children. It's cheaper if you are a member, but the membership and go at least 3 times a year. White Spot is inside, so eating is affordable. I just wished there were signs that says no food allowed in certain play areas. Parents, grandparents, caregivers don't clean their children messes. Frustrating.
Awesome for all ages. They have adult nights and serve liquor. They also have murder mystery nights! So fun! Even on a regular day there is a lot to play with and learn. I love doing the puzzles! The IMAX is great!! Love the movies and docs they show!
Excellent place for science and discovery, suitable for the whole family. Special exhibits include lego displays of the world tallest buildings plus hands on creative options for the kids. Lots of sections with science oriented experiments. Plan to visit the IMAX and all the other exhibits. Some limits due to COVID, but mostly all on track.
If you have kids between the age of 5-12 (but the high end may be pushing it) lots of interactive displays and areas to burn off all of that youthful enthusiasm. They have an Imax theatre there did not see the movie that was playing there. But that comes at an additional cost $6 above and beyond the admission($25). I imagine it could be come very zoo like on a busy day with hundreds of kids running all over the place. My advice is to round up the troops and hit it when it first opens up in the morning (10am currently )but the opening times and closures do vary so best check their website before planning your trip. One thing that I found rather shocking no hand sanitizing stations anywhere. And I mean anywhere in the whole building. You have to go to the washroom to clean ones hands.Yikes!
Great for kids, lots for them to explore and discover. We went on Family Day, predictably busy, with line ups at concessions, but you can bring your own food and drinks.
Amazing place to tire out your kiddo. My 2 yr old had a blast. We are now looking at the yearly pass as there is so much to do that you will never have them do everything in one day. Each time you go will be a new experience.
The many different attractions within the Science Center were very well done and we're interesting enough to keep my family occupied for about 5 hours. This is definitely more geared towards children but can still be fun for adults. I would definitely recommend getting a ticket to one of the showings for the IMAX theater that they have. The screen is so big that it can be difficult to see everything all at once.
My first experience was one of their special events, e.g. Uncorked, and it was one of the most let down I've ever been in my adult life. Overpriced, oversold and understaffed. Avoid their special events at all costs.
It was enjoyable, and the hourly presentations were informative. Finding parking was a nightmare, and I think having staff around to keep kids in order, taking turns and from ruining other kids experiences - more staff for guiding them along, cause sadly we ran into parents who had little to no control over their children, or just didn't care :(
Great place to spend a day with kids. There is lots of activities and things to explore. Multiple times a day there is a show on the main floor for chemistry, physics or illusion. The teachers are good at capture the kids attention. There is fast food on location that is decent so you don't have to leave, but you can leave and come back at will.
One of my favorite places to go. It's a fun and educational place. Reasonably priced and really cool. I like the live demonstrations and the fun games that are available both outside and inside the building.
Awesome place for kids and adults too! Lots of interesting things to see and learn about. I really like the different puzzles on the first floor. There are different science shows on the main floor all day long, they are great for kids.
Well intentioned but nowhere close to being like Exploratorium in SF and countless science centers in Europe and Japan. The Amazon movie was good today but the person who takes your ticket and the announcer lack passion. Lackluster as a result. The small touches make all the difference
Fun to go with kids with plenty of activities to do and experiments to watch and try. Allow at least some hours because your kids are going to get involved with all the science games, puzzles and riddles and my be hard to drag them out:-)
hey, we went as adults unaccompanied by children and had a great time. Go later in the day when the summer camps have left if you want a chance to get at the displays.
This site is incredible, it explains science in a fun and easy-to-understand way for people of all ages, it also offers exhibitions on different topics. The building is impressive since it has a great structure, the cost is very affordable and it is well worth attending. I recommend 100% if you want to go to one of the classic places in Vancouver
Not very happy with the extra fee for the Pixar exhibit, especially since you can't go back in after exiting, yet they conveniently have no washrooms inside. So you can browse the exhibits only as long as your bladder (or more likely your kid's bladder) can hold out. Unfortunately, having a child with bladder issues requiring frequent trips to the bathroom makes this a huge disappointment. Parking fees are ridiculous as well!
I came to see a Science Museum, not a children's playground. Science is NOT a fairy tale. This is why children are so spoiled nowadays... they are being fed with fake colors of a pretty black & white world.
The hours listed are incorrect! They are open 10:00 am-4:30 pm to the general public on weekdays and 10:00 am-6:00 pm on weekends (saturdays and sundays) They also are open at 9:30 am every day for members.
I expected more collection at Ripley's Believe it or not... when compare to other Ripley's around the world! I felt, it was not worth paying such high entry fee for this exhibit!
What a wonderous place. I come here a lot. I still really like it, they always have new things to keep you interested. New movies and new themes are always coming and going. One section can even be rented for weddings. And the giant movie screen is KILLER, enjoy surround sound and base. (Must see)
