One of my favorite places to take kids that are about 6-10 years old is Science World. They have great exhibits and demonstrations that go on all day long. Exhibits change on a regular basis but they also have the old favorites that kids love. My kid could spend a day just in the room with the flashing light. There is also a great park very close by too.

As a lifetime resident of Vancouver, this has always been one of my favorite places to visit since I was a kid. Science World is very much family-oriented, and has a lot of fun, educational exhibits. The rotating exhibitions are also fantastic; some of my favorites included LEGO, dinosaurs, and Body Works. It's also very convenient to reach via transit, since it's right next to Main Street Skytrain station. Definitely a must-see for families living in Vancouver.
I found the which changed the experience unfortunately. Lego exhibit was nothing special in my opinion. Unless you like seeing different buildings from around the world replicated in Lego, butscience world in Edmonton to be better than this location actually. But I think due to COVID, there were a lot of restrictions on what was safe to leave open and what had to be closed off from the public that was it. It just wasn't for me I guess. Kids had a good time actually building with the provided Lego (which was sanitized after each use).
We were at Science World from Open to Close. Brilliant fun - got busy so go early. The talks/shows are good for a change from the exhibits. Totally recommend!
We love Science World, I took my 5 year old grand daughter and we both had a great time. Too bad it's so expensive... not something we can afford to do too often... Also when we went to the kids area we were interrogated about her age, she is a 5 year old that looks and acts like a 5 year old and is average size for her age but the guys had a hard time believing us. Once inside there were kids that were a lot older than 5, more like pre-teens.
Great variety of exhibits with fun activities and plenty of opportunities to learn something new. The spy exhibit is great for older kids too. Skytrain is just across the street.
Having lived/visited in Vancouver for 20+ years this was my first time here. Even though it is a must-visit destination especially for kids, but don't hold high expectations. It's looks really large and spacious from the exterior, but it was somewhat disappointing in terms of exhibits and activities. Entry price certainly isn't cheap, and requires additional fees for some activities. However, the facility is well maintained with clean spaces and washrooms.
Lots of great things to do and interest all ages. Very clean and well maintained, and the staff were all extremely friendly. The Triple O's inside had delicious food quite quickly and reasonably priced. Pricey but worth it for a good half day of fun!
There are some attractions closed due to pandemic, however the place is fun and the staff friendly and helpful. The tickets are quite expensive. You have the option to purchase online or presential. The access is affordable by sky train.
easily accessible. great place to kill time especially with the kids and even adults. prices are a bit much and not much staff interactions. would be nice to have more staff interactions to make the experience much more fun! and great scenery around. due to price, and not much upgrade. it is those place you would want to go once every two years or something
Great for kids and adults too. Get the annual pass, or at least get in early - there are tons of things to see and do, that is of course if you have any interest in science.
This is my child's favorite place. I bought the children year pass. They have learned a lot here. My daughter will also speak positively in the open class here. The spherical cinema here is also super effect. My daughter said that she grew up to be a scientist. I think I should thank the scientific world.
Great place to take the kids, a bit pricey for the parents who usually just stand around so if you have a leisure pass mention it cuz it then only costs $2. They also need to rotate the exhibits a little more often. Cuz in the 2 times in 2 years I went the same stuff was displayed.
Go give you brain a play date! Always a good experience. They do have a fast food service on site, and typical junk food if that is your interest, however they offer lockers and a lunch room if you prefer to bring your own.
It's been a long time since I was at Science World, and I was really excited to see the pics are showing. And wow, I was blown away! The things I learned there about animation, it was incredible! Science World itself is always fantastic. It wasn't especially busy on that day, and they had a few different shows going on. Obviously the kids enjoyed it, and adults alike. They only had about three hours, but could have easily spent the entire day there.
Shows for kids are amazing at ground theatre. My grandsons are 3 and 5 and also love play areas and some of science stuff. Outside area wasn't available cos of rain!! Catering dreadful.
This is by far the best experience we have had at a TELUS world of science. Great hands on activities, the outdoor activities were really cool. Some things were unavailable but it did not detract from the overall experience. Very well set up, would love to come back and see the cat and dog exhibit. Worth the trip today.
This venue is easy to get to on public transportation - Skytrain (Expo line) or bus. Pay parking is also available, and thete are a fair number of spots, but seemingly not enough at the same time. This place is also right along a bike route. Inside there are patron washrooms, a restaurant, snack vendor, and even a cafeteria (in case you bring your own food). The galleries are very interactive and there is one gallery that changes a few times a year. There are also outdoor exhibits. Overall the place is very fun and educational.
Despite the fact that the Vancouver Science World has well-built facilities, good service, and many educational benefits, it s more like a children s play-land than a Science World. The Vancouver Science World is also sponsored by TELUS. Part of Science World's mission is to empower educators to spark the imaginations of their students, bringing science curriculum to life in creative and sometimes unexpected ways. Even though there are educational benefits and very well-built facilities, their entertainment section has exceeded normal science museums entertainment purposes. The kids go to an invention, play with it and don t look at the information beside it. Is that really what you call learning? Sure there might be some kinetic learners, but I really doubt playing with lights or playing with the inventions can suddenly help them learn about gravity or dark matter. It s ranked in the top 15 places to go to, so try to make the most out of it.
Perfect spot for the kids birthday, she had a great time! Staff presenting all of the experiments were great and very patient with the little ones. Will be back, highly recommended!!
Visited here for their after-dark night. A really great idea to let adults come and enjoy the centre without any children and with a bar. The exhibits are very interesting and usually quite interactive which is awesome.
Amazing place. It is quite expensive if you're just buying a day pass for a family so check and see if you have a local science center where you can buy a yearly family pass as some of them allow you free admission to science world! We've been twice and both times our kids stayed for 5+ hours! Well worth it!!
A little on the boring side for adults. The large screen is impressive but haven't seen a worth while show in a while. Sea wall right outside is a great walk. Also checkout olympic village near by. Conveniently located near skytrain
Always like going to science world. My kids always have fun there. Came down for a vacation with the family. Just wish they update some of the stuff they have there. Really liked the pixar exhibition they have there it was fun learning how they make the pixar movies.
Lots of fun activities to spark minds of all ages. We spent a fun 3 hours and still didn't see it all. Parking and places to eat were available and seemed reasonably priced. Great family day, although quite expensive when you tally it all up.
I went here for a private event, and was limited to the exhibits that I could check out, however the exhibits I did see were a lot of fun, and I would definitely take my children there for a day trip! I highly recommend checking out Science World if you have the opportunity!
Perfect place for kids of all ages. We were in our kayaks that day exploring False Creek and literally at the foot of Science World, it was a perfect day.
Went to a Halloween Party on October 28, 2017. We did lose one of our tickets but coat check misplaced our jacket with someone elses. Waited till the very end and still didn't have our jacket.
