Always my summer getaway of choice! This visit was not mid summer rather when school year was beginning for some people. It was the first time experiencing Bonus Week;Something I never knew about. Id choose that time frame again next year. It wasn't crowded but 4 stars for the hours of operation. They close at 5pm and it could definitely have been a later closing time. Also, Two rides had issues which created a wait time in total of a little over an hour just there, in line without moving. Not sure when they upgraded the lockers to a digital system but it was easily accessible, no lines to reserve a locker. simple, quick and easy kiosk service!

I've been to Water Country, Splashtown, and Sea World Aquatica BUT this park is unbeatable! Amazing rides and worth it all. My husband thinks the same and he is hard to impress, since he jumps out of planes and loves the craziest rollercoasters.

It was a lot of fun, but we are 55+ folks and standing in line for ride or slides is to long and hot. We liked the pools better. The Torrents wave pool was really great, but wish it were bigger. And we liked Krystal cove to. A strong current in there.

I'm a native to San Antonio and been coming to schlitterbahn since I was a kid. I've never had an issue until now. This weekend we're staying at the resort, which I have never done before. Our room is pretty nice (except for the cockroach we found on the wall) but still nice for the price. That's not my issue...
My issue is this alcohol policy they have. In short my boyfriend and I were drinking coke from our own water bottles and was walking into the front entrance into the park from the resort area. We were stopped by two fat geezers basically asking to taste our soda to make sure there's nothing else in it. I'm like NO, there's nothin in it, go away, we've paid too much money for this harassment. We were trying to cut through this part of the park to get to the tram. So we walked away and went all the way around to get to the tram. Once we got to the other side a security guy stopped us and search our bags and even opened up one of our sealed water bottles to "check". He got tipped off from the other side by walky talky. At this point I'm annoyed and this kinda ruined the rest of the day for me. Here's my thing.... if we did have a mixed drink in our bottles we could have easily brought them in from our room! There's back doors on almost all the rooms in the resort where you can walk into the park that way with no security. We could have been "those people" and took the back way, sat at a table and sipped the mixed drink and no one would even notice. The park is too big and crowded to go around sniffing everybody's drinks. So if you're going to have this strict, stupid alcohol policy maybe you should check everyone coming out of their rooms from every direction, not just the front gate. It's really not that serious Bahn :/

ALSO, you might want to mention to the guest staying the night AND guests coming for the day that half the park is closed on sundays until peak season!! We weren't told that upon check in and thought the whole park would be open. If we had known we would've spent more time on the one side the day before rather than doing Blastenhoff which is open today. Man, I've run into a lot of clueless, dumb workers this weekend.

The old side of Schlitterbahn is so pretty. I love the trees for shade, and the whole vibe. However, as someone who's only been twice now, I find it really, frustratingly difficult to find my way around. It's so compact and multi-layered. So much spins off from the main building, but you can't always get "there" from "here". There are multiple stairways. Some lead to rides. Some lead to other levels and more stairs. We just wanted to find the entrance to The Cliffhanger! (Head down, toward the river... somehow.) Also, you'd better like your water shockingly refreshing, because that's your option. Well, the adorably-lame wave pool is quite warm, go there to thaw.

The tuning runs are long and very enjoyable!! The large runs are pretty awesome if you don't mind waiting in line!! There are places to pick up tubes through out the park. The staff is usually pretty friendly, have never experienced a dispute of any kind while there. There are shuttle busses to go back and forth from park to park. Plenty of vendors for snacking!! Suggest you take cooler with food and beverages, plenty of cold water, also some kind of water shoes or sandals as the concrete can get unbearably hot. Be extra careful with l'il ones, they can't tell you that their feet are burning!! Use plenty of sun screen, water proof preferably!! Shaded areas with picnic tables, shaded areas yo have a family picnic after enjoying the parks water slides and such!! Highly recommend for a family outing!! Some what pricey but can find discounted tickets at HEB'S and other businesses!! Highly recommend getting your tickets there!! Big savings!! Great fun!!

Best water park in the USA...period. Been numerous times and always have a fantastic time. Kids would go here every year if it was up to them. Old part of the park is the best. Tons of shade and the water is always freezing cold, which is great on a hot day.

This is a great water park huge and have enough rides to be occupied all day. But you do wait on lines for atleast 30-45 minutes each ride. And tickets are 65$ each if you make a day out of it get there early 10am when they open and stay till 5 or 6 and it s worth the money. Rides are very fun and different from other Waterparks rides are long and fun last longer then 1 minute.

This is the best park to visit in Texas if you want to have a great time with your family. They allow for you to bring food and the lines are not long for rides because there s just so many! Also parking is free, so if someone charges you make sure to go and ask at the front because I have never gotten charge and have been going here for 8+ years.

Generally fun, tickets vary 35 to 70$ depending on time and coupons. Strongly suggest adult trip first, then kids, get a feel for the park. As school begins the park is generally understaffed and begin shutting down parts of the park. Week days tend to be less crowded and more enjoyable. Get there about 30 min prior to opening (10am) for good parking and pick out the first couple rides you want to do. Not much of a line then so enjoy. Then spend the rest of the day relaxing. No out side alcohol brought in to water park, resort may be different (to your room) no glass. Other then that enjoy!

Even if you don't get in the water it's a fun place to walk through. Watch people swim or go through the tube chute. Plenty of families were having picnics and swimming when we walked through - even in March. There's also a small playground for the children.

Loved it, great for kids, even itty bitty kids. Clean bathrooms, lots of good food about 11.00 each, refill drinks, water fountains, bring in your own picnic, no glass... for free. Free bus to each park all day. Free parking. Showers too, ice cream dots, snow cones, Turkey legs, salads, bbq, potatoes. Icee drinks. Several lazy rivers and white water rivers, even though several rides were rated red diamond which means difficult, my 6 yr old went on them. (Not the 4 story slides). We used sunscreen and still got burnt on a cloudy day so reapply throughout day. Have fun. Opens at 10am, seniors 55 , military, children discounts. The bar pools are heated. Very nice helpful staff everywhere in the park.

I wish they had more restrooms near toddler areas and the rust under the big slides kind of worried me.

Hottest funnest wettest coldest time in Texas.... Is very often full. Go early, and leave early.

You can bring your own food inside, obviously not booze. The waits can get pretty bad as the day goes on, so go in early.

I found the greatest secret in visiting a Waterpark--go on a day when it rains just a little bit and the whole park will be yours! Most people will avoid it on a rainy day, but if you can brave a little bit of water (you're in a waterpark after all), you can go on any ride you want. They do take necessary safety precautions for lightning, but rain isn't an issue.

They have to get everyone out of the water for 30 minutes if there is lightning within 10 miles, but there's no restriction for rain in general. We had to get out of the water for about an hour around lunch time, but we just enjoyed the picnic lunch we brought, enjoyed some of the great concessions under a giant umbrella, and then by the time we were done, everything was open again! We went on the Hill Side, Downhill Racer, Straw Slides, and Der Bahn over and over non stop. Best. Schlitterbahn trip. Ever!

Love

I have been a season pass holder for several years. This is the best water park I've been too. Parking is free, you can bring in your own food/beverages or leave lunch and return to the park. They now have a fast pass option. Definitely a must visit when you are in NB. Weekends are very busy. Try a Tuesday or Wednesday if you can.

We rent a cabana every year, either surf side or tree haus, we alternate each year. Just be mindful if it rains and you purchase a cabana, you do not get a refund or rain check. It is best to go anyway because at least you get to continue to use your cabana because it is a covered area. You get your own wait staff and complementary waters and towels. This time, it rained. No lightning, so the rides were kept open. I dont know what their lightning protocol is. Since our cabana was at Schlitterbahn East, they did not have any shuttles running to the main park today unfortunately. The gift shops had 50% on most items except for the dry packs and seawags, I would recommend getting those online.

Joke of a place to visit, they claim they open till 8 and short you out at 7, the whole place is run by damn kids not one single adult was there, oh and wait for them to check your cooler theyll go through with their hands all over your stuff, and best thing of all half the rides arent even open! The main park doesnt have access ramps for the disabled folks !!! Oh and refunds are not given even if theres inclement weather which at that point they will shut the damn park!!!Stay away from this mess!!!

THE staff is probably the best thing you have got going for them here. Victoria , Liz I can't remember all the rest of them very very helpful. Wonderful sweet supervisors. Maintenance needs to be done some of the older place are showing wear and cracks are starting to show as they say. It seems like they should have some way of tallying how many people come through because it's gotten to the point where it's like going to Six Flags you pay so much money and you get to go for five rides maybe because of the lines . Then you have to pay extra for an Express Pass. If your a local get there early great, but when you drive 2 1/2 hours it would be nice to get to do somethings with out having to shell out the extra cash for express tickets. We got there 30 minutes after opening and it seemed already busy. Then the afternoon came and you saw what busy really was. The place is still a lot of fun what can you say it's just a sad thing when you can't enjoy it like it used to be I guess because of lines , amt of visitors, and the high cost of everything. $20 to rent a locker really everything was expensive. My neck still hurts from the child that flipped out of his tube landing on my head and neck. Lifeguard rescued said kid who did not have on a swim vest whose mother acted like I flipped her kid out which didn't happen cuz I was in front of him when the wave hit. that was the end of my afternoon I got out then too many people.
