Brunch was fantastic, friendly staff and very clean establishment.

Nice facility, but feels a bit dated. Long walks to rooms... got my exercise!

Spent a single night with my wife for our 25th wedding anniversary. Dinner in the saloon was amazing! The room was well appointed with a fireplace and Jacuzzi tub. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. We didn't interact with too many people but the front desk and restaurant staff were very nice and accommodating.

We went for Sunday Brunch. The food was great. We were a little disappointed that their credit card machine was down. Luckily we had cash (total bill for our group was $80). Service was just okay. We asked for a high chair when we arrived. We had to ask a second person, who took forever to find one. It also took a long time to get drinks.

Front desk day staff was not friendly, night Gemtlam who checked us in was and the cleaning staff was, but not day shift, I will visit Huron again but will pick different accomadations. The hot tub drained into pool and was tepid to luke warm, but I will give 2 thumbs up for the Easter Buffet bit pricey but well worth it, highlight of our stay.

I stayed at The Lodge at Sawmill Creek Resort back in September 2006 for a Joint Leadership Development Session. The accommodations were nice, the scenery was spectacular, and the food was the best. I had the opportunity to get out and explore the grounds but apparently I didn't make it back to the marina. Fast forward to September 2, 2018, I made my way back to Sawmill Creek for The Mariner Lakefront Marina for an 8 hour fishing trip with Reel Sports Charters. We arrived at 7:45 AM & left the dock by 8:10,

They have new ownership and having a hard time maintaining the amenities on the resort.

It is very cozy and the Thanksgiving buffet is wonderful

This wilderness lodge was quite nostalgic and reminded me of youthful getaways as a child. We didn't book the room for luxury amenities, but it had more to offer than most hotels.

Excellent location. I'm a carpenter, so I found myself looking at all of the updating and repairs that need to occur there.

We parked our vehicle there for a few hours while we car pooled to Cedar Point.

Holy huge, Batman! And heaven forbid you're in the last building and need an elevator.

Mother's Day brunch. Huge selection of food and desserts. Quick service, quick seating, mediocre quality.

Really is a great conference center, the rooms are high quality, there are plenty of conference rooms to fit hundreds of people, and the in house restraint and bar are very convenient.

Was there at the gun show never was treated so nice so polite clean tables they they were fantastic people were just five star rating on my book people9

Rustic decor,, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, huge gift store!

My family stayed at Sawmill Creek Resort on 4/29 & 4/30/2018. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about the staff, or the room. The room was a beautiful 2 bed with pullout sofa with a fireplace. The beds and blankets were really comfortable (the sofa bed, not so much, but that is usual for sofa beds). The room had been stocked with PLENTY of towels and toiletries. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, and even had housekeeping bring me extra trash bags (I like to clean up after ourselves and take the trash out). This resort also has some Native American artifacts displayed and has named their buildings after tribes. We stayed in the Shawnee section.
My husband and I also stopped in at the bar, and the bartender was friendly and made delicious drinks. She also was nice enough to make sure she had the beer my husband likes for the next day for him!!
When my husband decided he missed home the front desk gentleman was very understanding and helped make the process quick (we left at 11:30pm on the 30th).
This resort offers an indoor and outdoor pool, private beach, gold course, restaurant and a nature hike. My girls and I loved the nature hike, we had this Blackbird that would follow us.
Now, sadly the downside (there isn't much). The pool wasn't open the first night (NOT the resorts fault) it was being repaired. The only other downside, is the private beach is a long walk, or you can drive down and then walk about 1/3 of a mile to the beach.

In the end, we will definitely be coming back to this resort, and hopefully for the murder mystery!

My fiance and I were at Sawmill Creek for a ln event. The staff were extremely courteous and we really enjoyed our experience!

It was a great hotel overall. Only complaint i have is the shower water got constantly hot and cold even though we had no other water running. It does have a golf course and a shop there as well. The prices are not bad for a 3 star hotel. It is also about 10 minutes away from cedar point.

One of the worst customer services I have ever delt with. Made a reservation for Saturday-Sunday night, drove 3 hours to be told the reservation was made for Friday night (no it wasn't) and that we were charged for it, the room is already booked for someone else tonight, and there's no way we can get our money back. Wouldn't they think something was up when no one showed up for Friday? Couldn't they do something at all to accommodate us? We are in utter shock

The room was all right. It smelled a bit musty and felt a little damp. The bed was stuff and unforgiving. Fortunately, I did not send much time in the room and got to enjoy the other many amenities. The catered food was quite tasty, The Granary was a perfect hub for our large family reunion. We also enjoyed the bonfire at the beach.

Nice place, would be nice when the weather is warmer, not many winter activities. Clean cozy rooms with a fireplace available. Little pricey for winter though.

A great romantic getaway for the weekend. They offered many packages for variety of interests within a short drive of the resort. Our package included tickets to Miller boat to the Put in Bay island with breakfast buffet the next morning for two. We visited the wineries on the island. Tip bring a cooler because the rooms do not have refrigerators and your camera. All of the staff was very friendly, kind, and had great suggestions on places to go in the area. We ate at both restuarant in the resort, their chef's did a wonderful job and were very accomodating with my food allergies. We will definitely be back soon.

We love coming to the resort however this year was very disappointing. Have heard that they have sold to Cedar Point. The cleanliness was less than clean. The pool was broke when we got there but was filling up and was still not kept clean. When we first went into room my husband had to kill several spiders. The floor in bathroom was not clean and had to where shoes and put towels down. Eventually there was a spider in my bed when they cleaned the room half way thru our stay they didnt empty trash cans. Overall this is a very peaceful place to relax but not sure we will be returning next year.

Was fun and really nice hotel... Only down fall was waking up with bug bites all over my legs after sleeping in there beds.

Wonderful resort. Staff was gracious and helpful. Restaurant service was very slow.

Fantastic Buffet on Sundays food is awesome the Prime Rib is perfect great breakfast choices and a great variety of salads, ham, seafood, chicke, beef, hash browns,sausage, bacon, blintzes, waffles, mashed potatoes, vegetables, cheeses and desserts icecream and pies etc. It includes coffer, milk, juice or sodas And the price is just right. The servers are friendly and so are the people. So come in for a great dinning experience.

Great facility, have stayed multiple times. Clean and quiet. Not too far from good restaurants and Cedar Point.

Sawmill was nice. Although the infrastructure was a bit outdated, it has decent amenities for kids like a tennis court, swimming pool, soccer field, and a game room. Service also wasn't too bad.

Recently purchased by Cedar Fair. Closing for renovations in November. To reopen in the spring. Lots of potential.

Brunch was okay. A little pricey for the quality of food.

This resort offers many charming features.

But SERIOUSLY NOT LATE TRAVELER OR ILL PEOPLE FRIENDLY.
(1) Traveler arrived from Virginia. She had recent spinal surgery and recovering. But this resort offers absolutely no food or room service between the hours the kitchen is closed (9:00pm to 7:00am). So stop off at McDonalds or some other place to eat or bring your own food.
(2) When the restaurant or bar is open, the cuisine, though delicious for the most people, offers very little healthy cuisine for vegans, diabetics, or people with kidney disease.
(3) Several people arriving for our event were denied access to their rooms til 3:00pm. So make plans to relex elsewhere if yiu arrive early.

Great setting, location for events. However, the room quality was very lacking. Bathtub filled with 10" of water everytime you took a shower, mold and musty smell was worse than I've ever experienced from the a/c units, need to treat and clean them. In addition, toilet ran continuously and had to hold the handle down for 10" to flush. Room 2326 in Mohawk bldg. Place had plenty of business, 2 weddings, seems like resort needs to put some money into everyday maintenance and upkeep of the room which tends to be a very important part in rating the quality someone's stay.

Friendly and helpful staff, but the pool was overrun by teenagers who stole the safety equipment from the lifeguard and the whole thing seemed to be devolving into chaos, so I took my kids out of there. They weren t pleased. Also, it is a little hard to get over the whole trail of tears decorating scheme. Made for some awkward conversations about genocide with my ten year old. Maybe don t theme your resort after the Indian tribes removed from the land at gun point by the US military.

Amazing Easter brunch! Loved it ...great choices. Would recommend.

The room was great other than the shower which has no tub and as well as no refrigerator at the beginning. Also no extra towels were given upon request.

It's a really beautiful location right off lake erie. They have good amenities like a great indoor and outdoor pool. BUT here is why I am giving 3 starts. Some simple user friendly items. Our room (2322) didn't had only 2 available plugs in very inconvenient places. There was not available plug near the bed for phone charging. Also we had zero wifi in our room. I do a lot of work on the go and no wifi does not cut it.

The resort was very easy to get to. The staff was extremely friendly. The food was outstanding. The rooms were clean and quaint. I would recommend this place to my friends.

We just recently stayed there this weekend for a wedding. We were severely disappointed with the food, the organization with the wedding planner itself and the fact that we were all told the wedding party would be blocked off together. We were all separated. Now that is not a huge deal. We are from the south and were expecting to be located right on the lake. Nope. The lake is quite a walk, golf cart ride or whatever down the way. And it is a rather small beach from the access point we had. The guys shuttling us back and forth on the golf carts were great and very friendly. I cannot say much for the rest of the staff. The breakfast was pretty much what you would get at a regular hotel continental breakfast. All the food was over priced. I think our bride was severely disappointed as well. Much of our party had numerous complaints and comments that summed up a waste of money to be there. Sad part is weddings and events is what the do. The hotel we stayed at on the way up and back up was much nicer.
The resort can accommodate several events at the same time, the weather was beautiful and the pools were decent. The outdoor spaces were nice. The servers were ok.

This place upon arrival was absolutely disgusting. I had bugs all over my room, the floors are stained and dirty, the pull out couch was gross, the sheets were dirty, there was old food and left over items under our bed, and lastly the place was COVERED in dog fur with the wet dog scent to match. I spent our entire first night HELPING the staff clean my room.The front desk girl was so helpful and attempted to help in any way possible. However, in the morning she told me to speak with the manager about our complaints and she hardly looked at me while explaining. I was asking to just have my first night comped as i spent it helping staff clean our room bc they had no more available to fit my family. However, she refused but the free breakfast ticket that we cant use because we are here for a dance competition and the times dont coincide were fabulous (insert sarcasm).

The room was clean and well stocked. There was a coffee maker with tea and coffee, hairdryer, and iron in the room. There was a lot of information on the walls of the main lobby and halls about plants and animals. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There was a great setup for a 400 person conference.

It was terrible. Bad service, horrible food, and not what i needed. Do not reccomend this place

Room smells. No night mgr to assist in customer service. They could only accommodate with an up charge. I would rank this facility lower than a red roof inn. Definitely not worth $200 per night.

I'm not a golfer, but this resort is tops! I biked the well groomed grounds and path to the resort's private beach. And, be prepared...you never know who you will meet along the way...a resort local. Dinner was outstanding and entertainment while you eat is very unusual...a very fat squirrel who knocks at the window for food!

The only thing this resort has is a pool for kids. Yes it s close to Cedar Point, but it s old and it shows. They allow pets which is fine, however if you re allergic get ready! Sneezing, watery eyes and coughing for two day. Room was humid and stuffy. There are NO microwave or refrigerator in the rooms!! I was told by staff that if I wanted to heat my leftover up that I could ask the front desk staff if they could heat it up for me behind the desk. The staff wasn t pleasant, and appeared overworked. This place needs a redo.

The room that we had was VERY outdated. The mattresses were HORRIBLE, they should have been replaced back in the 1990's or earlier. For the price of the room I could have stayed at a much nicer place. Do yourself a favor and go the the Motel 6, I'm sure you would have a better experience. I would never recommend this "resort" to anyone. I am giving 1 star because there is no option for 0.

Resort online photos were beautifully captured. Upon arriving after making out reservations a month in advance their system crashed and we were not notified. Upon arriving we we found that our reservations had been cancelled having to re-reserve our room at a different rate other than what was originally quoted. We were housed on night 1 in a room with a pungent odor of mildew with visible moisture in the window seals and toilet, only to be moved into another room with a, slight smell of mildew. Room phones did not work. Air had to stay on all night in order to breath. Kids became ill do to odor of mildew. Breakfast was not offered with stay. Some staff was Unknowledgeable of resort amenities, rude, not welcoming of diversity, unprepared to address the needs of a large group. No transportation services to be a huge resort. In 84 degrees no ice machines.
I would not stay again unless renovations were in order.

The rooms aren't like apartment hotels but they fit to the theme

Visited for corporate event. Skeet was great, hosts provided good tips and good company. Dinner was tasty. Very friendly staff.

Hotel rooms and pools are nice. Many amenities listed on their website, like the beech and ziplines, are either much further away or much more expensive than shown on their website.

Very nice but needs a face lift. The room had comfortable bed. But they didn t do a daily cleaning. Everyday they brought new towels but never cleaned.

We stayed here as a team for a soccer tournament and would definitely return. The resort is large and spread out so there are lots of fun things for the kids to do.

The pool area is great to hang out in groups with both an indoor and outdoor pool with plenty of seating. There are also tennis courts a volleyball net as well as a nice practice field with nets.

The staff were also pretty friendly.

I would give this place 4.5 stars if i could because the rooms are a bit dated but not enough to lose a full star.

Great place for a social event. The restraint, lodging, and event hall were all located in walking distance. Made it a great place to have fun.

Very fancy and AMAZING mashed potatoes. Prime rib was good too. Not recommended for casual dining, more of a seasonal place

There are stains on the walls, on the lamp shades and the shower drain was clogged. The smell is terrible probably because they let dogs into the resort. Althouh they have an indoor pool, the hot tub is cold and both the hot tub and main pool need cleaning. But they have a good buffet in the morning besides from the eggs that made people sick. Some people had a mini fridge and some people had a microwave but we had neither. When we got there our window was open letting the bugs in. The location was somewhat convenient because it was near Cedar Point but there are no gas stations near it. In conclusion, it looks terrible, smells terrible and I don't recommend this resort.

If I could give a minus 5 star I would. We were lied to and are still experiencing a lot of BS from the resort reservation department. When we first tried to cancel 6 weeks out we were told the computers were down, we will take care of it when they come back online. 1 week later still not taken care of. This time their credit card processing system is down. I wasn t born yesterday- beware very unscrupulous people.

I just love their holiday lights!!! Thank you for this free event...Also, the place is so nice next to the lake.

Very quiet and relaxing here. Staff was very friendly. A few things that I didn't like is that not every room has a fridge. Also you're already paying $200+ for a room but then have to pay for breakfast as well plus other miscellaneous fees.

Stayed at the "resort" this weekend. I'll start with the positives. We loved the amenities - outdoor pool and beach were very nice and well kept! The rooms were totally outdated, smelly and the beds were totally uncomfortable. The pillows were even bad and the sheets were questionable if they were cleaned. Our shower was leaking. Wifi was in and out, so don't count on it.
Staff was nice, but not overly friendly. I think this place could be an amazing hotel with a total remodel of the rooms. Nice proximity to Cedar Point and very family friendly.
