Great spot with several venues inside, all with wonderful acoustics. Consistently strong programming, with top acts. Only downside: this is a concert hall, not a club, so it has a certain sterility to it. No funkiness about it at all, which is funny given the nature of the music. As long as you know what you are in for, that's not an issue.

I saw Kronos performing as part of the Kronos Festival. They were AMAZING! SF Jazz is a relatively new facility. The seats are comfortable, the acoustics are excellent, and most seats have a good view of the stage. There's a bar/restaurant attached to the SF Jazz with a small, but good selection of appetizers & entrees, and reasonable prices. It gets pretty busy, so get there at least 90 minutes before the show for a relaxed experience. There is also a bar in the lobby, & you can take your drinks into the theatre. It's a great place to experience music!

Incredible venue. The bar downstairs is really pricey, but the steep-sloped stadium seating is really well-done and unique. Offers a very intimate musical experience even though it seats a couple hundred people

Such a space of creativity.

Such a space of creativity.
The workshop we attended was very hands-on and the performers were very generous (and patient!) with the attendees and their time.

The best place in San Francisco, if not the only place, to see touring jazz artists. Sightlines are amazing in the Miner Auditorium and decent in the Henderson Lab, and there are few bad seats from that perspective, but I am docking the Center one star for these reasons: (1) Seats in the Miner are rock hard and your tailbone will hate you after an hour. (2) The portable chairs in the Henderson are placed too close to one another. You will have an intimate relationship with your neighbor. (3) Acoustics are generally good, but the stage usually is overmiked.

Excellent customer service. The staff is great. The auditorium is fantastic, there s not a bad seat in the house. Really, there isn t!

But (just my opinion) I find their shows hit and miss. I didn t like the last 3 I saw. There s a kind of randomness to the programming, or maybe you d call it eclectic. A lot of it strikes me as academic musical exercises. Honestly i feel they are not attracting a lot of the great jazz talent that s out there, aside from some stellar headliners that they seem to be able to pay big bucks for. Nashville and New Orleans have great music, artsy creative or just plain jammin every night but they don t come West I guess.

Took a class here to learn some things about music production. The instructor, a well known Bay area musician and producer, began the class by discussing and demonstrating "sampling" in songs. The VERY FIRST EXAMPLE that he BLASTED throughout the studio room was a song that repeated the "N" word over and over and over and over again. I was appalled that he would play this in what I assumed was a "classy" and "dignified" venue. It was extremely vulgar, unprofessional, and I was HIGHLY offended and uncomfortable as a Black man. In addition, he did not take his time or wait for the class to grasp the many concepts that he spit out at a rapid-fire pace. I'm not slow and I'm certain the majority of the class was as confused and bewildered as I was. It was a complete waste of money and time and I left feeling very unsettled.

Nice venue, though my seat was on the balcony directly under a spotlight which management refused to turn down during the show, though I asked politely to three different people.. Annoying. Why? Seat A17. What you get for an $85 ticket.

We've been members of SFJazz for some time and have really enjoyed our experiences. It's such an enriching, local venue with a really great lineup of performers. Prices are reasonable and if you choose to become a member (tax deductible) all ticket processing fees are waived. Plus they have member prices for various shows throughout the year. Members also gain early access to tickets before being sold to the public.

There is a restaurant/bar on the bottom floor with a small menu of appetizers/meals and plenty of libations. Staff members are always warm, friendly, helpful, and approachable. We love SFJazz!

SFJAZZ, love you! We live 3+ hours away, but still became members. Just went to our second concert there, in the smaller venue. Great sound, a little hard to see but I can live with that. :) The large venue is perfect.

Will have to check out the food options next time.

You are a Bay Area (and beyond) treasure!

Amazing room, with the perfect size for cozy concerts. I love the fact people can seat on the back side of the stage giving a wide open perspective of the show with an impressive sound system.
