Great and clean atmosphere! Food is served very efficiently and tastes amazing!
My favorite restaurant in the area. You get so much food for the price compared to all other sushi in the area. If you're going on a weekend night, make a reservation ahead of time because they get busy.
Good quality and reasonably priced sushi -- a lot for your money! Atmosphere works for an intimate dinner, groups or families.
I honestly love this place! I seem to be coming twice a week at the moment. Lovely staff, and even better food!
Always top quality and amazingly fresh! Never disapoints.
Food is great, and I really enjoyed the overall look and feel of the restaraunt. Our food took almost 40 minutes to be served, however, and the wait was a little off-putting. The quality of the food definitely got rid of the restless mood, though!
Diverse menu, reasonable prices, really good food.
They're a busy establishment, if that's an issue maybe try going at off peak times
One of the best Japanese restaurants in mid Michigan considering the food, ambiance and drinks. The tatami style table adds more fun. Gyoza and sashimi are authentic. They have great tasting specialty sushi too. We also liked yaki-soba. One time, we had a 20 guest party and they were considerate. Staff was nice
Great sushi, a little slow if you have a big party but great food and friendly service. The garlic edamame is excellent
Of the top sushi places in town. Sansu has to be #1
It's alright sushi. Basic American sushi menu with some Korean flare. Not too expensive but also not a great deal. It's worth checking out if you are in E Lansing and you have a craving for sushi.
Great sushi. A little pricey, but the vibe is cool.
Great food with really neat seating, one of the nicest Chinese restaurants in east Lansing.
Ordered take-out today and the food once again met my expectations! It was pretty busy and there was a pretty long wait, but it was absolutely worth it! Amazing customer service despite it being tremendously busy, and I could see the employees running about and trying their utmost to get orders out as soon as they can. Good to see it busy especially during these tough times and I just want to thank the chefs and employees for doing their best! Would not be able to get through this time without their amazing food. Will be coming back for sure!
Had dinner there last week with a few people.
Nothing was terribly impressive. The salad and miso soup were pretty good. The spicy rolls were a bit too spicy. It was hard to taste the fish.
Don't know if I'd go back, unfortunately there's a lot of really good sushi around and this was just average.
When I called the lady who took the call acted as if she didn't want my business after I inquired about a reservation. Good food. OK service.
Out of all sushi restaurants I ve ever been to around the county, this one is by far my favorite. Amazing variety in rolls. The freshest fish in the area. Amazing staff that cares for their customers. Not sure how anyone could rate this place lower than 5 stars. Wait time can be troubling to some, but it s always more than worth the wait. Plus they have plenty of delicious appetizers to keep your stomach from growling while you wait.
It's good quality sushi, but you're paying for the fancy building, seating arrangements, and private rooms. I can think of 5 better places in greater Lansing, much cheaper, quality is equal or better. This is cute for a first date or holiday, but overpriced everyother day.
Good food. The service is usually slow. Most dinners are 1-2 hours. Make sure to tell the server about any dietary restrictions before ordering.
Many menu selections but only average quality and creativity.
Really enjoy the food here. Check out the baked double salmon roll. Service sometimes is a bit slow but varies significantly between who you get. Management seems really nice.
Sansu used to be my favorite sushi places. But now they have low sodium soy sauce, which is gross to me. They don't have any regular except in packs. I know a lot of people probably don't care as much as I do, but low sodium soy sauce is one of the nastiest things to me. It was just a really big disappointment.
The rolls are great, service is great, but I'm not fond of restaurants that are anti-salt.
Love this place. A favorite from college, and always a delight to visit when I'm back in town.
Very good rolls! Good green tea. Authentic atmosphere.
Consistently the best sushi in the Lansing metro area.
The sushi is really nice!! And "roll in one" is the best!!
Really tasty sushi! One of our favorite East Lansing restaurants. And check out their happy hours and student discounts!
A must visit sushi place in east lansing next to state.
This place has some of the best sashimi in mid-Michigan, and for that they'd get five stars-- if their service wasn't as bad as it sometimes is. It is very hit or miss; sometimes they are on the ball and sometimes they drop that ball and kick it around as if there aren't twenty people waiting to be seated. The servers are friendly and I'm sure they'd be more attentive, but they have to tend so many tables at once, things inevitably fall through the cracks.
Also, parking is pretty atrocious in Hagadorn Plaza; make a reservation and get there early.
Otherwise, Sansu is great. Awesome food, nice ambiance, I suppose it's a good place for a date, if that's your thing.
Fantastic food! Good service nice atmosphere. Easy location for parking too. Which is hard in East Lansing.
Used to not like Sushi until I ate here :) will be going back often!
One of 2 best sushi places in lansing. Also...try the tempura. Really delicious.
Rebecca saved our anniversary! Thank you so much for your hospitality. Look no where else for Sushi in Greater Lansing!
Excellent sushi! Very fresh and served at the correct temperature. The lunch combo is really a good deal considering the quality of the food and sides.
You will not be disappointed in the service, food quality, price, and cleanliness of the establishment. Make sure you get a reservation though because they get very busy.
There is a very large selection of quality, delicious sushi rolls!
love this place. great food, great service. All around just a nice atmosphere.
We went at lunch and our service was slow in attending to our table.
We even pointed out that we were there for my granddaughters birthday. Which was that day and our waitress didn't care. The restaurant was not busy either.
As far as sushi in East Lansing, this is one of your best bets. They feature a diverse, inventive menu with several items that change with the seasons and are Michigan-inspired. It's a great place for a quick, upscale lunch with good lunch specials. They also offer a great 20%off discount to students on Tuesday nights. The floor-plan is open so it's very accommodating of wheelchairs and walkers, as well as children apt to roam. I've been there many times and never had a bad experience! Enjoy!
Great lunch spot, reasonably priced and quite tasty.
In my opinion this is the best sushi around. No reason to go anywhere else. Would have been a strong 5 stars but my rolls aren't always consistently sized. Me and my girlfriend always order the same thing and often one persons rolls are much thicker and substantial than the others. Makes you a little jealous. Also the end roll pieces at times have little to no stuffing, all rice. Work on your roll forming a bit guys. Flavor is by far the best though. Also the soup and salad you get with your meal is very good. Much better than any one else around.
Delicious sashimi and excellent service! Sit at the sushi bar if you can find Space and the gentleman will take care of you. Don't forget the tip well Yankees. The Miso soup and edamame were delicious as well
Best sushi in all of Lansing!
Great ambience with modern, contemporary decor.
Try the Sansu roll - one of the best!
Excellent sushi place with great appetizers and large variety of Entrees
Some of the best sushi in East Lansing. Rolls are always large and filling, definitely worth the money. A crazy amount of options as well. Staff is always friendly and the volcano drink is a fun experience.
Delicious! Very good food and very good service. The price point is what you would expect to pay for high quality food and service as well. So it is a little pricey but worth it if you have the cash
Love the sushi. Only downside is how long it takes to make. It's totally worth the wait though
It was a run of the mill sushi place. Doesn't have great veggie rolls. Decent service and a broad omnivore menu.
I've been to sushi places all over the country in all sorts of major cities and Sansu in my mind consistently ranks towards the top of the list.
Always a fantastic experience here with utterly delicious, authentic sushi. Been to the restaurant many times over many years. Can get very busy at popular times, so plan ahead or make a reservation.
Sushi is good but the rest is pretty disappointing. I got one shrimp in my to-go udon. Also dont trust the menu they have posted on Google, that is the lunch menu and it is more expensive.
Their sushi is so good! And there are lots of options. They've also got meal options like bento boxes etc. I'm less experienced with those. If you get rolls it comes with soup and a salad with peanut sauce that is yummy. A little pricy, but worth it. I recommend reservations in the evening.
4.5 my friends and I made reservations a week in advance but we still waited at least an hour and a half. I think the food is very good and the service after being seated is adequate. It can get pretty busy so I understand that there are limited servers available. The area is also very clean. The bathrooms are clean too!! I think that is very important for an establishment.
There was a bit of a wait for food on a Monday night but the food was delicious when we finally got it. They even offer traditional Japanese seating on the floor.
Great sushi and they were willing to accommodate my "no cucumber" request.
Even though I went on a Friday night and it was packed, my party received fast service and the food was excellent! The atmosphere is professional yet comfortable, providing the perfect dining experience. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant!
Always fresh, delicious. Great atmosphere for dine in options.
If you are not a big fan of sushi try this place they will make you fall in love with it!
Great sushi, great service. Our server Taylor was very informative and entertaining. We'll be back.
Best sushi restaurant in East Lansing. Great service and food every time.
The Chicken Bento Box and the Salmon Bento Box were amazing. We loved our visit. Can't wait to visit them again.
IN THE TOP 2 PLACES TO HAVE SUSHI IN THE AREA. THEY ALSO SERVE WARM SAKE.
Everything was delicious, amazing food, spicy, regular, salads fantastic... except the edamame was mostly empty shells.
The food was good. The service on the other hand was not impressive to say the least. I was with a group of other women, and our server kept forgetting about us. We were the last party in the restaurant and he had yet to bring us the check. It was a little awkward when the other servers were cleaning up around us, while we are just waiting for the sever to appear.. we were all in a good mood, so he had an opportunity to make great tips, but his lack of effort was disappointing.
Best sushi around. Service is sometimes a little slow, but the food is top notch. Have not had a roll I didn't enjoy. Courteous and attentive staff, too!
Really great food with a large variety of options on the menu, and an excellent atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive staff. Considering the overall quality, I'm surprised it's not more expensive.
Our waitress disappeared multiple times. We enjoyed the appetizers. My food came out cold. I ordered chicken teriyaki - imagine taking a bite of cold chicken with thick teriyaki jam on top. It was disgusting. The waitress went missing again shortly after delivering our food so I waited almost 10 minutes while my husband tried to enjoy his meal. When I explained my food was cold and gross, she didn't offer me a solution! She just took my food away. We ordered another bottle of sake as an attempt to salvage our date night. 15 minutes later she swings by to say they don't have the sake we want. At that point we asked for the check. We paid over $100 for the worst restaurant experience in my life. I expected better from Sansu.
