Amazing sushi. Fresh fish. Great service. Vast menu. We have friends from all over the country and from outside the US (Canada, Sweden, France and Australia to mention a few) that make this a destination whenever they come to visit us.

We also have children with allergies and special needs and they accommodate us for all of our needs.

Mainly a review on the Sansu Deluxe Udon:
I got takeout.
The menu description says tempura shrimp, fish cake, veggies for 13$. Theres an upcharge of 2$ for more shrimp.

With a dish having the restaurants name and "deluxe" I expected a meal with some substance.

What I got was one piece of shrimp, no fish cake, and a half pint of noodles and vegetables. What justified the $13 price point? Udon noodles are not expensive and are made of wheat...This did not fit expectations and is dissapointing since sansu is known to be a good sushi spot around east lansing.

I have gotten much more at similar restaurants for the same price or less. I recommend they reduce their price or follow through with their "deluxe" dish.

Outstanding, fresh, high quality sashimi and sushi. Service is solid, responsive to feedback and welcoming. Though I've tried other restaurants for sashimi, there has never been any other local establishment that can compare re quality and service for me.

I couldn t come up with bad things to say about this place. My wife and I went here on our first date and the day we got engaged. We ve always loved their food, their service is spectacular, and the quality is what you pay for. With sushi, consistency is everything and we have gotten the same incredible food every time we have ate here. Even during COVID the carry-out is as good as dine-in!

It was really cold inside, bring layers!
Waitress could've been more personable...but you can't win 'em all!

Worked in NYC, LA, Tokyo, and quite a few other places. I have eaten a lot of great and terrible Japanese food. Sansu is towards the top of the list. Great quality, service, and fair price. Definitely worth a try!

Five star for environment.

Five star for environment.
Five star for friendly staff.
Four star for choice of food.
Three star for the taste. Since this fancy restaurant holds just about average level of sushi and there is nothing highlight or special among other sushi place in Michigan.

Great food, great drinks, great service! We visited on a Monday night, and although we had to wait a few minutes for seating (we wanted the low style with the floor mats) it was well worth it. Tried some sake for the first time and it was delicious. Our sushi was so good and the portion sizes were better than I expected.

I ve been coming here for years and this place never fails to amaze me every single time. Quality fish on all the rolls and even if you don t like sea food, they offer amazing dinner options as well. I highly recommend the bulgogi next time you go!

Every time I've been to Sansu I've had great service and delicious food. The atmosphere is perfect for a Sushi restaurant with a variety of seating options. Of course there is the standard seating area, also an option to sit at the sushi bar and finally an option to sit in a table sunken into the floor where you have to take your shoes off.
In my opinion this is the best Sushi restaurant in East Lansing in quality of food, service, price, and atmosphere.

Sansu was a longtime favorite when we lived in Grand Ledge. Now we eat here any time we're in the Lansing area for more than a couple days (probably 3-4 times a year at this point). We live in Indy now and haven't found anything even close to comparable here yet.

This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in Lansing. They have great sushi and a good sake selection at reasonable prices as far as sushi and sake go. My favorite roll is the Oishii! Go at happy hour to save some cash.

I ve been to many sushi restaurants in the area and Sansu remains my favorite by far. The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to make every customers experience enjoyable. The restaurant is usually quite busy but the option for To-Go orders is very convenient and a great option if you don t have time to dine in.
