Jay Howerton is the reason I keep coming back! He is by far the sweetest guy at Sam Swope. Jay is always so friendly and VERY efficient about his work. When I come in I know me and my Honda are going to get taken care. I had come in once to get an oil change and he wasn't here and the other guy that assisted just wasn't the same. So as long as Honda has Jay working in service I will keeping coming to get my Honda's work done. Thank you Jay for being SO flippin amazing! -You're the ideal service rep :)

Professional car dealership, but some aspects were...

Professional car dealership, but some aspects were slightly shady. For example, we received "Conquest dollars" from Honda, which required we finance through Honda. We had a better deal somewhere else, and our sales guy tells us, "No problem. You can always just refinance next week through your other place and keep the conquest dollars as well as your better interest rate from the other place." But when we get to the finance guy, he says, "Oh, I'd hate for you to lose your conquest dollars by refinancing." When I pushed him on the other, he says, "Oh, I'm not sure you'd lose them, but that's what I heard." Shouldn't a finance guy know that?

They also got us on the trade-in, offering a ridiculously lowball amount then coming up. The sales guy said, "Well, you might have bit so we had to try." I laughed, but I admit it bothered me.

Overall, it's a car lot and I guess you should expect crooked little things like this. They were professional in other aspects, and had a nice selection. No major gripes.

Just leased a Civic LX and returned a Fit . Cam Lewis is the Sales Rep who took care of me and he did an excellent job helping me choose the new car and return the old. Cam really knows the vehicles and was patient answering all my questions and concerns. Cam made the whole transaction smooth and stress free, Erin and Dorottya took care of some last details and delivery and they were also great. I highly recommend Cam and the entire staff at Honda World.

I went in to get pictures taken of the paint on my car as there was a paint problem and I had an extended warrenty on the paint. I called and was told to come on in. I get there and only one person could take pictures apparently and he wasnt there. While I was waiting I was approached and bombarded to trade my car in, even though I was not even there to look to buy. I was told to come back another day so I left. The gentleman trying to sell me another car must have gotten my number from the women I left it with (for the man that was in charge of taking pictures) because he called me on my phone harrasing me about buying a car. I then recieved another call agian about my purchase of a car from another sales person there? If I wanted to buy a car I would have stated this. I will never go back to this dealership! I decided to take my business to the other honda dealership that is local. Terrible!

I had the best experience with Ryan, Eric and all the staff at Honda World. It was fast easy and fun. These guys can help you find the right auto for your needs. They don't up sell or get you to buy something you can't afford. Ryan was patient with me as I drove other cars to decide what works best for my life style.
The whole team from sales to finance to service was exceptional. I even got to use a 2017 Accord to use while they did my permabond. That was so nice. When I came back to pick up my CRV it looked so shinny and clean. I love my Honda. You guys should go to Honda World and get you a new car and experience a fun and easy buying experience.
I give them all a ten! Thank you Ryan, Eric and everyone else at Honda World. You guys rock.

I am a first time new car buyer and was looking for a specific type of 2016 Civic at Sam Swope Honda. I was assured that it could be factory ordered, and after a month of less than thorough communication from my sales associate, I was told it was impossible to get. I wasn't disappointed in the fact that I couldn't get the car, but more in the amount of time it took them to tell me I couldn't get it. I could have had "the impossible" car for a month had I gone to a different dealer, who managed to get it delivered in 2 weeks from the factory.

Unhappy with the dealership experience I had. Was not comfortable purchasing the vehicle at the end of the day.

I tried to buy a 2006 Honda Ridgeline from Arthur. Looked like a decent enough car. Multiple owners and a minor wreck, but low miles. Arthur stated several times that they had performed all the maintenance on the car and that it was bought at their dealership. Before the test drive, the hood rod basically fell off and I placed it in the back floorboard so it wouldn t get caught in the serpentine belt and wreck the engine.
On the advice of a friend, I took the car to a mechanic at my cost ($93). The car was missing some critical maintenance including the Timing Belt (total was about $2500 recommended, $1500 of which was critical ).
I relayed the cars problems to the dealer with a request to fix the car or at least take $1,000 off. Arthur offered to get me a hub cap.
Instead of trying to address the critical timing belt issue with the car, either by fixing it in their shop or lowering the price to ease the burden of me getting it fixed, they opted to complain about the time I had it for my mechanic to see it. The sales manager said I didn t prove the timing belt hadn t been changed. The sales manager said they could contact the previous owner to see if it had indeed been done. When I asked him I do that he declined.
In addition, they advertised Alloy wheels and the car does not have alloy wheels. Also missing a hub cap still.

Now I assume they will try to sell it to the next person and hope they don t get it checked out by a mechanic.

I continue to expect and receive excellent service from Sam Swope Honda. The service managers are knowledgeable and courteous. The waiting room is spacious and comfortable. My only qualification, coming early for an unscheduled appointment can be unproductive as the crowds make the wait times long.

Good value and as fair as most dealership for trade in value. Good clean service area, good waiting area if your waiting on a service to be completed. My internet salesman had been there quite a few years and was very knowledgeable. I will definitely consider them next time I'm looking for a new or used vehicle. I drove 60 plus miles as they had the best deal anywhere near me.

When you buy a car here it's like a false first im...

When you buy a car here it's like a false first impression. You are assured that they will be with you the whole way with your vehicle's warranty and services. But once you're off that lot you are no longer a priority. Your warranty will not cover most of the over priced maintenance provided here on your vehicle so congrats on wasting an extra 2 grand. When you come in for a service if you'd like to stand around like a lost child for 20 mins before someone asks you what your business is there than this is the place for you. Their over worked and understaffed employees have just enough patience to get past their first sentence. Over all one is to feel cheated and stupid but what a learning experience.

He was very helpful with the whole purchase process and helped me find a vehicle that was perfect for me. Everyone I encountered at the dealership was extremely friendly. I bought a 2012 Nissan car and the car salesmen was awesome but the service department should but a sticker in the vehicle to tell when it had a oil change but didn't have info on it's but also when I got home I was low on radiator fluid but had fluid in the radiator and had a dirty air filter. So I bought a new air filter and had to buy a radiator fuild but for that I have to give them a 4star

This is not the old Swope dealership. Be careful with the information you get from this team here. Once they get you in the building they will do and say anything to sell you a vehicle. Manager will call you after the fact and sound shocked to hear what happened to you. Read everything and ask alot of questions. I went in with a pre approval and they re-ran my credit against my wishes after telling me that my approval would transfer from dealership to dealership. Old time bait and switch. Then they won't talk to you after the ink is dry on the paperwork..... Shop around there are real salesmen (Brown Brothers were Great). They told the truth about everything asked. Two friends I sent to Honda World had similar trouble. Their post are coming. 20 plus years of dealing with this location and this is how I now get treated. Not the old Swope dealership........

We went to look and possibly purchase a vehicle today. There was a new car on the used car lot we had questions about but we were never acknowledged by a sales person. We drove by and sat at the vehicle multiple times as well as the main office. Not one sales person tried to make contact with us; there were several on the lot at different times. My husband even waved someone down and no one came over. From there we went to the New Car lot and again, we were never greeted or spoken to. There was a sales person that drove up right beside our car and got out of his car, but he never spoke. We are buying a 28k vehicle and no one speaks; WE WON T BE BACK! We have had our current Honda s serviced there since we moved to Louisville, so we were extremely disappointed in the customer service shown today.

I came in 15 minutes before they closed looking for my first new vehicle to purchase and they stayed after hours to let me test drive a few vehicles and answered any questions I had. I came in the next day and talked to them for 3 hours trying to figure out if I wanted to buy a vehicle from them. I never felt pressured by them and I ended up leaving without a decision and then came right back and ordered the exact car I wanted from them. When my car finally arrived it was an easy and fun process. The man in finance was nice and funny and the guy who went over my car with me was very knowledgeable and nice as well. They were all well trained and seemed to thank of you as a person rather than a costumer.

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience buying a certified pre-owned Jeep from Honda World (The Big Lot). We had been looking on the internet for a very specific vehicle, with very specific options, and were willing to drive out-of-state to purchase. When we saw what we were looking for locally, priced well below the competition and at good market value, we jumped on it. Arthur and Jason sailed us through our negotiations without hassle, gave us the deal we were looking for, and provided exceptional service. So many businesses have lost the art of personalized customer service! I have continued to buy from these lots for over 20 years, (when they were still in the Swope family) and thier customer retention rate is proof that they are doing something right. There is no feeling of dealing with a 'used car salesman', or of high pressure 'tactics'. Arthur and Jason were a pleasure to work with, and it's nice to think that someone earning their living from selling you a product is doing it honestly and professionally. Thank you for being the best dealership we worked with in our long process of finding the perfect vehicle for our family!! We walked away happy, feeling confident that we got a great car for a great price. No buyer's remorse here! The free lifetime powertrain warranty was a total bonus, and who does that anymore?! I can say with near certainty that we will be back, possibly soon, to purchase a second vehicle.

I LIVE IN MORRISTOWN, TN I AM ONLY 10 MINUTES FROM A HONDA DEALERSHIP HERE IN MORRISTOWN, BUT I DROVE 187 MILES TO SAM SWOPE HONDA TO MAKE MY PURCHASE. WOW!!! Arthur Wilson is a great man and a fantastic salesman. He met with me instantly and after looking at 4 cars i was sold. He never tried to push anything on me, he was very classy and respectable. Arthur has been in the business since 1991 and he knows what he's talking about. We test drove the 2014 Civic and i could tell he really wanted me to have what i wanted and not what he wanted me to have. I am extremely satisfied with my experience and my purchase! I visited this dealership last week to look at a car. I wanted to trade in my car and I was told it would take 10 minutes to appraise it by Mike (one of the managers). After 40 minutes, nobody returned to me to discuss the pricing. I left to go for another appointment. I was told that I would be contacted but nobody from the dealership called until I did and found out what they were willing to give me for my car. I was not satisfied with their offer so I didn't buy their vehicle. Yesterday I received a text from the dealership asking if I had traded my car. I had not so they informed me that they were offering 120% of KBB book value. I said I was interested and I would be there at 3pm. Shortly after, I received a message that they could not offer any more than what they had. Obviously I was shocked. Why would they contact me and offer 120% of KBB value and back out? I contacted Scott (manager of their Big Lot) and left a message. I also left a message for Mr. Munoz, the GM of the dealership and neither of them had the courtesy to return my calls to discuss my concerns. I will definitely not be returning to any of their dealerships nor send anyone to them!

REPLY TO OWNER'S RESPONSE:

I appreciate your reply although it's the standard, generic "textbook" response.
I provided your managers 2 opportunities to discuss my concerns but obviously they were not interested and hence did not return my phone calls. What I witnessed while at the dealership and the subsequent actions from your personnel speaks volumes about the culture at your dealerships. This typically emanates from the top, down. There is a facade of customer service but it's really about how much you can make from each deal. I don't believe that your answer is genuine!

Unfortunately, my experience at Honda World was not a pleasant one. Earlier this month,I visited this dealership to purchase my 3rd car. I walked around the dealership for at least 15 mins, and not one sales person asked if I needed assistance. I had to actually walk into the dealership, and even then, not one person asked if I needed any assistance.
Finally, a young man,(I believe his name was Brandon) asked if I had been helped and I told him no . This young man was patient, but clearly unimpressed with the models that we test drove.
As we ended the test drive portion, I noticed the 2019 Honda Civic Sport and was blown away! The young man quickly brought the car around for me to test drive and from there we meet with his manager.
After being very clear that I was willing to pay over 300.00 a month, paying over 2K as a down payment,and having a high credit score, I was told that I could always look at a Kia.
We asked if there were any 4th of July deals, I was told, ma am the 4th of July is just like any other day here.
I left Honda World and purchased the exact same car, in the exact same color, with 0 mileage from Jeff Wyelr Honda, on Dixie Hwy. The car was also $2,000.00 LESS than what Honda World was selling it for.

Be very careful when dealing with this place.
The car I was interested in buying had a lot of false advertisements on the window sticker, there was quite a few features that the advertisement listed that the car did not have. They also photoshop their online car pictures to make them appear more colorful than they actually are.
Update(7/13/20). Their way of making it up to you if you have a bad experience and leave them a review is to listen to you over the phone and tell you they will be in contact to make it right and never call you back.

I was in Louisville last week attending a workshop at the U of L. My car tire developed a leak and would not hold air and I had to drive back home to New Jersey. I brought my car in, no appointment was needed. My car was fixed (I needed to get new tire) quickly and I even got a car wash. Everyone was very helpful and super efficient. Thank you!

I very rarely leave reviews, but the employees here were rude, incompetent, and gave horrible service. It took me three days to get somebody on the phone and when I finally did, I was immediately put on hold, forwarded to someone else, and then sent to voicemail. I have been unable to contact anyone else so I just drove 30 minutes out there to talk to them in person. When I walked in there were several employees just standing around doing nothing. I told them the issue with my car and they said the service center was closed today. Not a big deal, I ll just come back tomorrow (even though the website says it s open). But when I asked for a price estimate or even a phone number I could call, they just shrugged their shoulders and said, I don t know what to tell you. I eventually just said never mind, to which they responded, sorry! And laughed about it as I walked away. I m a very patient person but this was just unacceptable.

Be oh so careful when buying a used car from them (or any dealership) I bought a car from them on December 28th 2019, not a month later and my car started having issues and it was as simple as changing the spark plugs. They obviously didn't inspect the car very well. Such a shame, the salesmen were very kind, but it doesn't seem like they put much care into inspecting their used cars, or they just didn't want me to know about the issues. I ended up paying over $300 when they should have done it before anyone test drove it.

Knowledgeable, friendly, and took good care of us. Were able to test drive car, and take it for a few hours to have a mechanic look at it before purchase. Everything checked out, and the process was completed quickly and easily. Very happy with the purchase! Would definitely recommend. :)

In February 2017 I purchased a used 2014 Civic with 42K miles advertised as having a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty and was upsold to make it Honda Certified because "this would cover everything bumper to bumper."
Tried to have a defective component replaced and was told that Honda Certified expires at 100,000 miles - which I have now exceeded. I wasn't happy as you can imagine.
This was my family's 3rd vehicle purchased from Honda World in 18 months. It will be the LAST!

Made an appointment and confirmed availability on 3 vehicles for later the same day. I get there and at first can t find anyone to help. When I finally did speak to someone they tried to pass me off to another salesman, who passed me right back, both totally unprofessional, like they didn t want to be bothered. Turns out 2 of the 3 vehicles I confirmed were available that same morning were just sold yesterday , I heard this exact same statement made to 3 other customers as they walked in for their appointment to see a specific vehicle. Pretty sure this is just a scam to get you in, I ve dealt with other dealerships that at least had the courtesy to let me know if the vehicle I wanted sold before I could get there. The 1 they had was so visibly dirty I didn t even want to get in for a test drive. It looked spotless in the online pics, but was covered in food crumbs/stains. Obviously the images were of another vehicle or someone has been driving it regularly since they were taken. They were very unprofessional and seemed very unmotivated to make a sale. Didn t even offer to show me anything else. Even if they d had exactly what I wanted for the right price, I would never have bought from them.

Really disappointed with my experience here. Went there yesterday and things were great. Found a great car and was told I'd need a co-signer... didn't make sense due to my credit score and the fact I purchased a vehicle prior to this without a co-signer, but I understood. My dad filled out a credit application online in order to be my co-signer and they said his application was great. Asked the salesman if the car was mine and he said yes, going to put a sold sign in there now and we'll see you in the morning. Before leaving, I left a $700 check as a down payment. My family and I were about to walk out the door this morning when the salesman called and said "oh, now you need $2,500 down". I was attempting to figure everything out when he calls again and said I would need $3,600 down. I told him this had turned out to be a mess and would rather him shred my check. THEN the finance department called to congratulate my dad on being approved and asked when he wanted to come look at a vehicle. Overall, bad experience with a bad salesman.

After visiting several dealerships with questionable quality in their automobiles, I was able to find a reliable car at a reasonable price. Service was thorough and fair, with the expected fun of negotiating a final offer. I've been here before and won't shy away from trying them again.
