Salty's beach house Review

This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have had in B.C. we called early in the day to see if it was possible to reserve the patio and were told it would be no problem. When we arrived we were seated on the lower patio area but on an inside two seater table which felt very sandwiched in. When we asked the host if we could move up to the patio she told us she would check and proceeded to not check and not come back to talk to us at all. When our server finally came we asked to order oysters and were told that we had to pay a higher price because we were sitting outside. We just decided to leave after all the terrible attitudes we received. We were actually on our honeymoon and were looking forward to checking this place out but I can tell you I would never go back!

Super good fish tacos! The sunshine roll is also such a good addition. & good margaritas! Very good ambiance & nice patio. 10/10 would recommend

The food was really good with a lot of options. Drink options were fantastic as well! Our server seemed a little overwhelmed/rushed and it wasn t busy (End of September when we ate here) which is disappointing when the entrees are $25 each... But the food and drinks are a 5 star rating. The seating upstairs (best view of the water ) was closed but we attended during off season.

The service here really wow d me. Our waitress knew every menu item and drink ingredient and had some excellent recommendations. Also, hand sanitizer on every table - that was awesome. We can t wait to return during our next trip to Penticton!

Went there today with my husband and children ... My daughter ordered the terriaki wings from the adults menu ... She loves wings she did like these but said the sauce was burning her face , I ordered a fish and chips my son ordered the feast of fish off kids menu both same thing only adult one came with another peace of fish the tar tar sause was so watered down that it hardly even tasted like tar tar sause the fish itself could have been cooked longer .... The coleslaw was tasteless .....my husband ordered sheracha chicken was really nice...also ordered meatballs Appy witch was overcooked it was much better our last visit , and burger and fries off happy hour menu the burger was literally dripping ... again last visit was so much better durring the summer .... waitress was very welcoming and very on top of everything was a very good experience only problem we had was she kept coming to the table every 2 min to take our napkins after the 20th time it was getting annoying and we wanted to leave ... overall service was great food not so much this time

Waitress was very rude, she forgot our drinks several times and management rudely handled it- no apology- and very slow service and fish n chips sucks.

We could not have asked for better food, or better service. Aaron was absolutely incredible. By far the greatest service we have ever had in Penticton. He was funny, easy going, l and made our experience that much better. Steak was the greatest in town, butter chicken was the BEST I HAVE EVER HAD, fisherman s pot was fresh and amazing and the salmon was incredible, i can not thank you enough. Thankyou Aaron!!!!! Because of you (and the food) we will be back again!!!! I don t mean to ramble but i could say so many amazing things about our food and service. THANKYOU!!!!

You get to sit across from the beach and I think that's pretty awesome. Service and food is decent.

It was a bad meal...We have been going to saltys for 4 years ..we live so close that we like to have it as a neighborhood bar and restaurant ...a month ago or so I had the Pad Thai..it was extremely bitter..could not eat it..The waitress said she could take it of our bill ..but we said don't worry(i think she gave us each a free drink)I just think maybe a change for a menu tweak...I have tried alot on the menu ..love the fish tacos!Then last Saturday we really had a bad meal...yuk...the calamari batter was disgusting totally ruined one of my Favs and secondly another Fav my mussels...horrible horrible !!!!The Talk around penticton seems to warrant my complaints ...on a positive note I love your New Renos ..SH

Atmosphere and view is amazing and the bartender was super helpful in helping my gf pick a drink, my sliders were amazing but my gf didn't care for her fish and chips though, would def recommend the burgers over the fish and chips

All the way from Australia and we love our food, I was very impressed with the menu and the service from our gorgeous and accommodating waitress. The kids menu had REAL chicken tenders and a high chair was made readily available. Nice beers for me and fresh juice for the billy lids.

Great atmosphere and location. Attentive service and the food and drink is priced just right. The burger and crabcakes were unreal delicious. Portion size is perfect and the outdoor heated patio is great for the chilly weather in the winter.

Pleasantly surprised by their #BahamaBreezePizza - it was amazing! (scallops, shrimp, dry cured bacon, garlic and thyme infused confit tomatoes, manchego cheese, Avocado, and wasabi lime cream) IN OTHER WORDS: delicious! Service was good. Thought the mahi mahi was good. The fish and chips were ok. Felt they were a little too greasy

Some dishes are very good and others are just ok. But everything was fresh and good quality.

I like Salty's...and I have edited this review...my first wasn't a great one. But..I have been back now several more times and I have changed my mind. Great food...the view is fabulous, if you sit upstairs and on the outside. Really..one of the best places in town.

Come for the ambiance stay for the food and great service!

Veary veary good place well Werth ANOTHERE visit what I orderd was way to much to eat at sitting had to take some home to finish I give 5 stars and staff was veary friendly and new what the menus WHERE about when ask what's in it or what it's like better to have a reservation to go there veary Propeller place.

Despite horrible food, I gave 3 star because of the service. I would never go back.

Had to wait for 30 minutes to get a table, that should tell you how popular this place is. The location is perfect, lake views at the quieter end of the strip. The service was on point, we were well looked after and had all our needs catered for.
The menu is perfect, a good mix for every budget and pallet. We shared mussels to start with a round of craft beer to wash them down and each tried something different. Prawn and chorizo burger, poke bowl and the fish tacos ( grilled instead of fried is a great recommendation, thanks ) everything was fresh and delicious.
Great spot for a.summer lunch or dinner!

Food was amazing and the service was fantastic. BOOK AHEAD OF TIME!!! This is a very popular spot and the wait times can be 2+ hours. Definitely recommend the tuna tacos

Saltys... They'll get you drunk, then sober you up with good food. Careful with the creamy scallops.

One of the best burgers I've ever eaten... And I eat a lot of burgers. Great location. Reasonable prices.

I had fish and chips while my partner had tacos. Both were delicious. Service was good and the bar drinks were very tasty. It was nice to look out on the lake while eating. Would definitely come back here.

I loved the tuna mahi mahi and my mother in law said the steak n'awlins was the best surf and turf she's ever had.

Salty's Beach house is hard to beat when dining lake front in Penticton. The location is fantastic and the restaurant itself is spotless yet welcoming. The food is fresh and tasty. Dont miss it.

Nice staff and atmosphere, great veiws- great food but small portions for 30 bucks a plate, even the 14-20 dollar appies are a tad on the small side. Spend 80 dollars and left happy but still a bit hungry

Don t waste your time .....this place was always my favourite place to come appetizers were meh dinner was over cooked soggy won t be coming back only reason two stars was for good drinks

If you want great food at a great price in a great setting, this is where you should eat. Located beach-side at Okanagan Lake, it's in the hub of a very prolific summer fun area. Swim, eat, walk the boardwalk or relax on a bench overlooking the lake. Salty's is lively, great music, all the hostesses and servers are above expectation for great service and a wealth of information regarding the menu and area. The menu is cost efficient and offers something for everyone. We've had the pleasure to dine in this wonderful restaurant numerous times as local residents here in Penticton, and it's our go to place when company comes. This place offers outside dining to experience the fresh air off the lake, sunshine and warm summer breezes, yet another section outside but under a covering in case of a drizzle of rain, a large dining area inside, as well as a second storey dining area with both inside and outside dining choices. It's a great place for couples, adults and the whole family to dine. On our last visit it was just three of us and we chose the Cod Fish and Chips (I subbed out regular potato fries for the sweet potato fries--to die for with a spicy dip!! The Rasta Pasta bowl with chorizo--you have to try this dish! And the Asian 5-spice stirfry Vegie Bowl with Lettuce Wraps--build your own! So Yummy!! You can't go wrong eating here. ..in fact I promise you, if you eat here once, I guarantee you cannot resist eating here again, and again. ..you get my drift! Get here early though (5 p.m.) because this place fills up fast and I guarantee there will be long lineups and waiting. Reservations recommended. Salty's Beach House is the place to gather and eat! 5 stars from me! Always!

Loved their breakfast. Amazing preparation, nice presentation. Good quantity.

Nice spot, good views of the lake, good drink selection, good service. Food portions are a little small, crab cakes tasted pre-made (frozen boxed) Prices are a little higher than some others in town. The biggest thing is how loud it can be inside. Extremely loud!

Spectacular location, restaurant was great atmosphere. The food was good service was okay. The server tried hard but was not very efficient with our drinks, meals, or bill.

Fun evening on a girl's weekend with my daughter. Had dinner downstairs then moved upstairs for after dinner drinks. Friday night was hopping upstairs with 20 somethings. Food was yummy, service was excellent.

It was a busy Sunday, but the hosts & server acquired a table for us on the top deck, overlooking the lake! Had the tasty Cajun Quinoa salad & sampled some fine microbrewery draught beers. My fellow diners enjoyed their meals, especially the view & prompt service (even though the server's whole section turned pretty well all at the same time).

Had eggs benny on crab cakes & it was excellent!! Busy place we d been wanting to try with a lakeside location. Host service was okay, server was great! Not too expensive for food quality, would certainly return.

Food was great. The upstairs patio has amazing view. Be sure to come earlier on Friday night as they will be super busy after 6pm.

Never a dispointment. The best butter chicken and fish and chips!!!

My husband said the ahi and avacodo sandwich was the best salad he's ever had and I really enjoyed the chicken tacos with yam fries. I have been there several times before and always have great food and service.

Amazing good and great service! Honestly, the chef in this place has magic hands that make each dish from the kitchen taste like a slice of heaven. Even the service, we had Luke, was simply perfect. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helped make our experience at Salty's one to remember. Definitely a place to be bookmarked and visited time and again. The chef and kitchen team make it simply a place to visit, absolutely worth it!

To many spicy items on the menu, so hardly anything for me to choose from. :(

My husband had the pad thai and said it was way too salty.
I had the pizza with seafood on it, which was okay but not amazing.

Definitely a young person's place, drinks were good, waitress assumed we were leaving a 20$ tip on a 20$ bill, had to ask for change as she ran away.

Food was good. Atmosphere and Staff amazing.
Our server Ashley was fantastic.

Amazing food, servers were great, but the Lead Hostess - Taylor, ruined my groups experience both days we went.

We already had a group table ready with friends waiting for us, and she told us it would be a 30 minute wait minimum. I corrected her by saying there I know there is a table ready for us to join our friends and she said nothing else.

No eye contact, very unfriendly and this happened to almost every other group waiting in line behind us. Pushing away customers instead of trying to find a solution...

The other hostess staff were great

I had eaten in here last year and hyped up the place to my daughter before we ordered. What we got was extremely disappointing...Ordered two salads for takeout; the thai salad and ahi avocado salad...NEITHER were worth the price; thai salad didn't even come with any dressing...or noodles! Very scant sad salads! Girl on the phone had no idea what she was doing, kept us on hold for a long time, kept trying and failing to transfer us...when I got there the service was chaotic; extremely disorganized and the hostess and servers seemed to be barely coping with the madness. Will not order out here again. -_-

Service has gone down hill. Too busy and it was very unsanitary. Glasses dirt. I had 4 hairs in my salad. Two entangled in my chicken. So gross

Go to restaurant when in town. Always busy, but they are fairly efficient at getting your order in a reasonable amount of time. Consistently good food and service.

We waited an hour for a table and it was worth the wait!! The drinks and food were delicious. We got the fish tacos and the Poke bowl. Our waitress, Abi, was pleasant, professional and made our experience extra lovely. We will be back!

The BEST EVER honey bourbon salmon I have EVER EVER tasted. This is a must go to restaurant. Great serves. VERY attentive staff knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu. I'll be back tomorrow. Can't be bothered mucking around seeking good food when I have already discovered excellence.

We had dinner last weekend at Salty's and it was amazing! My in-laws got the seafood platter and we got the Honey Bourbon Salmon and the Prawn & Chorizo burger. We were all very happy with our meals & drinks!

Erika was very rude. Approached me aggressively and made me very uncomfortable. I won't be going back there again.
